My morning Zumba teacher was sick so we did Pound instead. I then got exercise cleaning out my laundry room as a new dryer was being delivered this afternoon. I also need a new dishwasher, and a plumber to come over & check out a toilet that's not flushing right. $$$$$$

Oh no Ruth! Everything all at once is not good. Sounds like our aunt's mobile home we have been cleaning out and fixing up: new floor in some areas, new oven, repair heat, repair ac, repair lots of plumbing. Seems like when one thing was fixed another one broke.

This Friday I'm going to a Murder Mystery Dinner. We are supposed to dress up in the 20s, 30s, or 40s. I've been looking for hairstyles on youtube. Even bought foam rollers! Have a few days to practice. I've never been to one so don't know what to expect.

Walked/ran yesterday and today. In the 60s both days.

I've been waking up at 4:00am again and don't want to get up that early - so I lay in bed and every 10 minutes check the clock - got up a little before 5, 5 - 6 max hours is all my body sleeps and that includes waking up to go to the bathroom once.

My foot is healing, but not fast enough for me - I'm tired of the boot after 4 weeks - and 6 weeks since I hurt it. I go back to podiatrist on the 14th and hope to be rid of the boot, but not feeling optimistic. I miss walking terribly and especially the time outdoors. I walked at least a little and sometimes more during chemo. Hope to get a good report on Tuesday.

I hope you get a report too, Karen. It is so frustrating to not be able to do what you want to do!!!

I've had a busy day. I went to Pound this morning, we had a long meeting with our financial advisor, the serviceman came to install the new dishwasher (the old one's motor had burnt out). I wanted to stick around while he was here, but didn't want to sit and stare at him; so spent the time cleaning the house. The only thing I have left is to vacuum, so used my time productively. Tonight my gym is offering short 'sampler' classes, so you can try a class without committing to a whole session. I will go to Dance2fit (my favorite class), and try 'Strength' & 'Cardio Barre'. That will be enough for me in a night.

Karen: I really hope you get a good report on your foot next week.

Ruth: Love all the classes your gym offers. So nice and convenient.

Went to a Murder Mystery Dinner tonight. As mentioned earlier, we were supposed to dress like the 20s, 30s, or 40s. Had the best time! There were about 80 or so people there. During the cocktail hour we were to talk with the characters and get to know their story. So we got bits and pieces from everyone. My friend and I guessed the wrong murderer. Oh well, next time! I rolled my hair with foam rollers and wore the dress I wore to dd's wedding. Trying to go for a 30s or 40s look.

That looks like so much fun. Wonderland! It would be right up my alley!

I got my exercise running errands and doing housework today. The weather is supposed to be really nice this weekend so I don't want to spend it doing those types of things!

    Hello All!

I did about 2 miles on the treadmill this morning -- I decided once I can walk 3 miles in 45 minutes I will start trying to run again. Watched a Netflix show about tornado chasers and it made it possible, if not fun. Then this afternoon I did an hour of strength training. I did some strength training Friday morning, to make up for the fact that I slept right through my personal training at 5:30 Thursday morning! That is the first time I have done that! Oops! So I felt highly motivated to do the full hour and not slack today.

I have also now been over 2 weeks with no chocolate or added sugars. We had joined friends for single-source hot cocoa at Burdicks after a slippery snowy walk on the rail trail down in Walpole just over two weeks ago. Again, highly motivated as I have3 been doing a LOT of stress eating and there has been lots of chocolate at work and I have gained almost 20 pounds -- all around my middle of course. So need to start being serious about keeping my ins and outs more balanced. We will celebrate Valentine's on Wednesday (after a big presentation at work0 and I will make something decadent. Thinking of this: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/friday-night-double-fudge-chocolate-cake-recipe

yesiam, I gained 3 pounds just reading the recipe! It looks & sounds delicious. I've been tracking all my calories & exercise on my Fitbit ap because I needed to get off the Thanksgiving/Christmas weight (I was eating absolutely horribly plus not drinking enough water). I am nearly where I want to be; which is good as I am going on a Girlfriends Getaway in a week & a half, & I will definitely NOT be watching my diet then!!!

Indoor walking DVD & Flow Yoga today.

yesIam: Decadent indeed! What a recipe!

Ruth: Are you going to Florida?

Rain most of the day so I took a short nap. Now watching the Super Bowl and enjoying my favorite Super Bowl snack, M&Ms.

I start my new school today for the rest of the school year - maternity leave. Feeling a little overwhelmed, but it will all be good. The conference last week was good - some great sessions. Next year it is in NOLA, but I doubt I'll go as it gets expensive with hotel and airfare.

We watched the game - it was actually a good game, thought the Eagles would win, but we weren't rooting for either team. The commercials aren't good like years ago. My favorite and one of the only ones I liked was "Thank you Canada".

Going to be quite nice today, but cold and snow Wednesday.

We went to see 80 for Brady yesterday - cute movie.

    Happy Monday.

It was fun to see a movie where ladies in their 80s (and 90s, Rita Moreno is 91) are portrayed as vibrant, fun, and even a little sexy!

I didn't have a favorite team, so was glad that it was a close, exciting game. I liked the commercial about the dog who was destroying the house when the family was away. It looks like they are going to get rid of the dog, but instead, they get another puppy to be his companion. DH liked the Dorito commercial so much that after the game, he went out and bought a bag of them! (Since I'm on a diet, there were no Super Bowl snacks in the house.)

I went to Zumba this morning & maybe will go to Pound tonight. It is very nice today, but supposed to be rather nasty tomorrow & Wednesday.

Good luck at your new school, Karen.

Ruth: I used to buy Doritos for a Super Bowl snack but soon found out they call my name too hard. The M&Ms are all gone which is a good thing.

Sat outside with the cats for about an hour this afternoon. Then went for my walk/run in a short sleeved shirt. Felt great!

Have a heavy heart this morning. Nothing personal for me - just the state of the anger, hate and chaos in the US. Yesterday morning started with the Colorado School of Mines being on lock down due to a shooter. Shooter killed a K9 officer. In the afternoon, 2 shootings, one at one of my local high schools in my district and minutes later one by the admin bldg. In the one at the high school a 16 year old student was shot multiple times in his car by someone(s) in another car and is in very serious condition. Three shootings in 8 hours or so. Then last night a mass shooting at MSU in East Lansing. It's beginning to feel no where is safe anymore.

All went well first day at the new assignment. It will be a busy but good end to the school year - I'm there the rest of the year.

Hope Tuesday is a good day for everyone.

Sorry to hear of the multiple events in your district yesterday Karen...on top of MSU and all the others that keep happening and happening...it IS getting too much for those of us going into schools everyday...myself included...the first news I saw this morning was the MSU headline, ugh.

One of my yoga friends was the mentor teacher (is that the correct word?) for the teacher who was shot by the 6 year old last month...The teacher who was shot was a student teacher for my friend...my friend with 30 years in the classroom is clearly not the same. She had already planned on retiring at the end of this school year, but now I think is thinking of taking a medical/mental health leave for the rest of the semester.

I go for my mammogram tomorrow and a bone density on Thursday...

Take care everyone, Happy Valentines Day, TT

It seems like all the evil & simmering resentments that apparently have been there all along, have been let loose in the land. The high school football player who was shot in Loveland about a month ago (I think it was a carjacking) was the best friend of the son of a friend of mine. Violent, senseless deaths devastate not only a family, but a whole community. This isn't a political thread, but obviously some things have to change.......this can't be the new 'normal'.......

I walked with a friend this morning & will go to Barre and Zumba later this afternoon. DS & his fiance invited us to go to dinner with them at an Italian restaurant where I will undoubtedly gain back any calories expended during the day!

    Happy Valentines Day, dear friends!

The shootings are sickening, scary, terrifying, senseless. And happening every day. TT, I hope your yoga friend does what's best for her. Karen, hard to comprehend what happened in your district yesterday. What Ruth said, this can't be the new normal.

Cooked a special Valentine dinner for dd and dh. Dd's husband is taking a course that meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights for 6 weeks so we have been having weekly dinner dates with dd. Nice that this week's date fell on Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my Friends! <3

Get rid of the boot after the week-end, but Podiatrist suggested going for walks first with the boot - that I can try. I'll be so happy to wear two shoes! Thursday will be 5 weeks in the boot so almost 5.5 weeks when I get rid of it and hope all is good with two shoes and walking. He said tennis shoes, so I asked how long, so he asked me to take off my boot and said they were "stiff" enough. I live in my Blundstones in the winter so I was thrilled. No bare feet, flip flops etc.

3-7" snow predicted for Denver with 18F before windchill - parts of the city are getting snow and it will be a messy morning commute - and by dinner time the snow will be done.

    Everyone stay warm

good news on the progress Karen, and how funny to hear you say you live in Blundstones...my walkaround chelsea boots that I have had for several winters are ready to leave service (I'll probably get the rest of this winter out of them but not longer, have already been resoled, etc)...last week I started looking for a replacement as they are no longer available and found Blundstones, they look perfect!

Off to Tai Chi at lunch, we are having a warm spell before temps fall to the floor on Friday. TT

Glad you can ditch the boot, Karen!

We had winds gusting to 56mph last night & it's still blowing like crazy today. Thank goodness we didn't get snow with the wind (which is what happened not to far to the east of us and all the way into Minnesota....100s of cars are still stranded on the interstate). Here's the Wednesday Walking Women picture for the week. Very glad for the indoor walking option!

TT - I have 3 pairs of Blundstones - 2 pair are 5 years old and still have life in them. My third pair is newer but I don't wear often as I''m "saving" them till one of the others are history.

Bitter cold this morning. WE got several inches of snow yesterday. Supposed to be warming up over the next few day.

    Have a great Thursday

Skipped yoga at lunch to take a walk...low 70's today, couldn't be inside! Got "normal" results from both mammogram and bone density...bi-rads 2, I guess is the best to get given all that has happened...and the dexa was "good for my age group" Yikes! I have been building bone density ever since the major hit the drugs took on me...so I will take "good for my age" TT

Pound this morning, went out for a fun lunch with my future DIL at noon, and I'm going to sneak over for at least part of my Dance2fit class at 5:30 (my Book Club meets tonight so I will have to cut out a little early if I want to take a shower before Book Club.......and I DO want to take a shower!).

Karen: Just a few more days of the boot! Yea!

TT: Dd loves her Blundstones. They have nice styles and colors.

Ruth: Great WWW picture. Have fun at your Book Club.

Like TT, we are having warm weather in the low 70s. It's breezy also. But all that changes tomorrow with cold and rain arriving.

    Walked this afternoon.
