Walk, walk, walk in DC… all good for the most part, but today was so hot that I got a sunburn on the last stretch of walking on the way "home" to the hotel after work. I had been keeping a lite jacket on to have sun cover, but couldn't today…hopefully enough moisturizer and a cold shower will halt the burning process.

    drive home tomorrow morning, TT

We had some nice rain this morning (no high winds, hail or tornado warnings!) which cleared out the air for awhile. Our old neighbor & her dog, Ivy, who was Bruno's first girlfriend, are in town for an extended visit (they moved to Arizona, which is WAY to hot in the summer). Bruno sill is on leash-walk-only restrictions, so even though they can't play like they'd like to do, they can still go walking together!

TT: I imagine you will be glad to get back home tomorrow.

Ruth: 5 days of fireworks is crazy! No wonder Bruno aggravated his sprain. Glad he got to visit with his gf.

We didn't have any rain yesterday or today so things are calming down (for now). My main exercise has been getting ready for our beach trip. I feel like I'm packing up my whole house!

When do you leave, Wonderland? I hope the weather is a little more 'beachy' for you!

Have fun Wonderland! When we go to the beach we fill the back of an F150 with all the stuff…it does feel like a whole house! We have a 2001 F150, bought new in Sept 2001. It is our beach and boat car, standard cab with 8' bed…and what family can't use a pick-up! It only has 68,000 miles…so as long as we keep it serviced and it continues to roll, we are good for it, not pretty, but a good family truck😃

I typically drive it to the beach (Duck, NC for us) which is always a shock to the system…most days I drive a Prius and then I'm in the F150!

Getting back to my routine, Sunday evening strength and core. TT

Had a surprise visit to the gym last night after a stinky afternoon at work, figured it was a better way to blow off steam than other alternatives 😀

Went to HIT, dog walked & spent the rest of the day trying to get ready to go on a vacation. My sister, sister-in-law, a family friend and I are going to Charleston, SC. I've never been there before so it should be fun & interesting (although way too hot & humid for me!!).

Have fun in Charleston - a great city, but definitely way too hot and humid in July for most everyone! Lots of great restaurants, history, a minor league b-ball team, something for everyone. Enjoy!

Got to the gym Thursday evening, 5 days this week.

Safe travels and happy weekend everyone, TT

Got a shelf for my kitchen yesterday. Spent about an hour reorganizing it and unpacking things that had been sitting in boxes since the move. Still got a little bit to do, but it's starting to feel and look like a kitchen

TT: I need your F150 to go to the beach! Dd rode with us bc her dh couldn't go this year. Which meant we had lots of stuff crammed into the car. Somehow it all fit.

Ruth: Have a great time in Charleston. I have been twice (many years ago). I have 2 vivid memories of the heat and humidity that we still talk about. One was that my sisters and I did one of my sister's walks (she was in a walking club) and this was a time before everyone carried water bottles. It was so hot that we stopped to eat lunch at Applebees bc we needed water. We didn't care that we ate at an Applebees in Charleston - it was the first restaurant we came to and we were despite. Friends wanted to know where we ate and we had to laugh and say Applebees. Later during the vacation we ate at some fabulous restaurants.

m0mmy: Have fun unpacking more items for your kitchen.

Had a fabulous time at the beach. We went to Ocean Isle, NC with my side of the family. My granddaughter came for a couple of days. Even though she's only 9 months, it was a big trip for her bc it was the first time going to the beach. We had great weather, ate delicious meals and played fun games. I'm ready to go back!

Kitchen finished yesterday, going through boxes of books to see what we want to didn't like, had for far too long amd are outdated and getting rid of them. Collapsed and straightened boxes not in use and organized the storage area better, still more to do.

    Have fun and safe travels!

Bought a shelf at Menards and set it up in my storage area, put the extra sheets on it and reorganized the bookshelf that my late step-grandad had given us before he died and kept a couple changes of sheets on it and some towels. Might get another shelf or two for the bedroom closet for clothes and shoes to make it more tidy

    Have fun, Ruth!

WTG m0mmy on your hard work getting things organized.

Walked this evening - not too fast bc of the heat and humidiy.

Ocean Isle is so much fun, DH grew up outside of Wilmington and when we go for high school reunions one of his crowd has a house in Ocean Isle so we wind up there for a day.

If looking for restaurants in Charleston, one of my favorites is "Slightly North of Broad" of S.N.O.B. great for lunch, way too expensive for dinner…which is actually a common (bad/annoying) issue.

Got to gym Sunday night for Strength and Core, off again to the gym today at lunch time.

TT: Ocean Isle is such a nice, clean beach. I only picked up one piece of trash and it was a chip bag that had fallen out of the trash rollout on trash day.

Another hot day today so I decided to continue where I left off with dh’s aunt’s photo albums. She died a few years ago and I want to eventually create photo books for dh’s brother and niece. It will be a lengthy process.

Didn’t walk tonight bc we had a soft rain. I’m watching Untamed on Netflix with dh and kitties. I highly recommend the mystery series.

Wonderland, my sister-in-law, & I met up at Mount Airy, the home of Andy Griffith, and the inspiration for his TV show. It's a fun tourist town. My sister doesn't have good reception, so either Wonderland will have to post some pictures or wait until I get home Sunday.
