TNBC MBC Stage 4

@rlschaller Rhonda, I loved your comment that MBC is the master class that we are all enrolled in. At this point, likely every one of us could write a book about our experience. For those of us who love control, it can be trying to have so little of it.
Glad that you're enjoying your vibration plate and finding it so beneficial. It sounds as though it's both exercise and treatment of one's ailments. A bargain!
Did I miss something; did you have radiation again recently for skin mets or for something else? Hope that all went well and that the radiation did the job. Good that your current chemo regimen is so tolerable. Makes life easier!
@cookie54 Have you been outside walking lately Andrea? Some days I wimp out and say that it's too cold to go out, but that won't be a concern soon.
It's so good for the psyche to have something to look forward to, as must be the case for your daughter's wedding.
Last Friday the doctor told me that the results of the previous week's CT were good. Whew. Yesterday I had a brain MRI to follow-up on the brain radiation from December; they wait three months to check so as to let the radiation continue to do its thing for a while. So one down, one to go. Tomorrow will start the next eribulin cycle; that is, if my low neutrophils meet the required threshold.
Have a good week everyone!

@scgal08 Congrats on a good CT and will pray MRI looks good too!May eribulin continue doing it''s job, fingers crossed and always praying.
I have been enjoying the warmer weather here and walking as much as possible! Sunshine and fresh air are my mental health medicine for sure. Yes I have been waiting, hoping and praying to make it to May without any progression. I plan to take a 2 week chemo break before the wedding to try to feel as good as possible and will scan in late May. I am very grateful that I am in pretty good shape with this diagnosis and Xeloda has kept me stable for some time now.
Good luck tomorrow ..hoping your neutrophils behave themselves!
@rlschaller Hey there lady, how are ya?
Hi to all reading along , hope you have a nice quiet week.

Hi gals, @cookie54 @scgal08 Andrea and Rita so glad to read that everyone is stable and feeling good. 😊 I hope the MRI went well and no new surprises. Love your comment on control, lol.. if only we could.
I love the sunshine and warmer weather, have been out walking more, but then radiation every other day will do it. One more to go on those new Mets that popped up, nipping them in the bud before they become worrisome. I think I’m clear of new surprises, at least this week. Cycle 8 of CMF + K on Wednesday.
Good plan Andrea to take a chemo break before the wedding. Fingers crossed for you that you feel good and can dance up a storm 💐🥰🥳. I think I’ve said this before, but my sons wedding was one of the best days .. I wish you the same.
Happy Easter to all who celebrate ❤️ Rhonda0 -
@rlschaller Cheers to the last radiation, may those mets be gone forever! Glad you're able to get some walking in also. Hope your energy is at a decent level as I know many people are fatigued with radiation. Yes I'm sure it will be one of the best days ever. We're going this morning to be their witness to sign for the marriage license. It's nice to have a happy occasion to cancel out the cancer noise! Have a good week❣️

Morning all, a glorious morning here . Sun is shining and air is cool. Drinking my morning coffee with the cats while DH is still sleeping. Love the quiet start to the day. Just wishing everyone a lovely day. ❤️

Hi all. Dropping in to say hello and hoping that all are well. We're in the middle of a bunch of grey, rainy days here so no time spent outdoors.
@cookie54 Good to hear that you are still continuing along on Xeloda without change. A two-week break from it for your daughter's wedding is a great idea. You should be in fine form for the occasion!
@rlschaller You must be finished your radiation by now Rhonda. That would be a relief. And no new surprises is what we are after!
This is no-chemo week, and not even any medical matters this week either. How can that be? 😉
Wishing all a good evening, and rest of the week.

@scgal08 What a nice week for you, now if we can send you some sunshine. We have been having summer temps here, high 80’s this weet. Think its more seasonal next week so I try to soak up the sun and warmth whenever it’s here! Yes, yesterday was the start of my break and MO agreed to it last week. After the wedding I will be bombarded with appointments, May is always busy for me. I figure I get it out of the way before the start of summer. Enjoy the rest of your week☀️

Ah morning @scgal08 @cookie54 , nice that both of you are doing well. A week without chemo and medical matters lol….heaven. Enjoy.
Birds are chirping and the cats are entranced. Along with Andrea were sending you sunshine ! Andrea can’t wait for your May wedding pics ❤️❤️❤️. All is well here, hubby is heal Ng from surgery thank god and I’m feeling really good. Stamina is slowly returning and I’m walking more. Life is good. Love to all for a joyful week.1 -
@rlschaller Happy to hear all is well in your world😊!

@rlschaller @cookie54 Hello ladies and good news that you have been doing so well. May that continue!
It's chilly here today, temps in the 30s, but spring has sprung nevertheless.
Next chemo cycle starts tomorrow, if I 'pass' the bloodwork that I have to repeat beforehand after today's didn't hit the mark. Damn those neutrophils!
Have a good week all.

@scgal08 Had to dig out the heavier jacket again here….but yes everything is blooming! Fingers crossed that those pesky neutrophils come back up today…let's go guys.. you have an important job to do! Added a prayers and sending good vibes your way today🤗
Hi Rhonda and all reading along hope it's a good day💕

hi gals, @scgal08 @cookie54 and all who read along.
Rita - hope your blood work allowed for your cycle to resume. I’ve been through that a few times, going an extra week to let them to rise up. Using the zarxio shots once every three weeks has helped. Brr.. it’s cold by you, we had some chilly days but now it’s back in the 50s. I love that spring has sprung!
Andrea - we are getting close to the big May Day wedding ! Hope everyone is happy and not too stressed out. Are you going for your walks again now that the sun is back ? And the blooms are amazing, love the pinks and lavender colors in our park. Smells nice too.I’m well, just tired and super busy as the semester winds down. I’ve been taking digital holidays, which has been so nice to rest my brain a bit lol…
And if all goes well, infusions cycle 9 on Wednesday. This is the longest I’ve been on a treatment line and am enjoying the stability of it. ❤️❤️
Hugs to all on a lovely Spring day here in NJ/NYC

@rlschaller Happy to hear you're enjoying the Spring season too! I'll take the crazy fluctuation in temps over snow any day lol. Yes, I have been enjoying daily walks, nothing like fresh air and God's nature in bloom. Although this week I told DH we're in bubble wrap mode for the wedding as I fell twice this winter walking and it wasn't due to ice lol. Happy to report we are not stressed, DD came over yesterday to pick up her gown and a couple things and we relaxed and chatted out back in the sun. Finger crossed so far so good!
I can only imagine how busy the end of semesters are for you, the brain rest is a great idea. I admire your determination to continue to work through the many bumps in the road you had. I know you truly enjoy it and that's the best part! Fingers crossed for cycle 9 that all continues smoothly.
@scgal08 Echoing Rhonda that all went well and you had your infusion last week. Hope you're feeling good and enjoying sunshine and warmer temps.
Hi to all here, sending good vibes your way for a good day for all😊

Hi gals. You are inspiring with your walks, whether the weather cooperates or not. I haven't been able to push myself out the door for a while to do that. But I intend to …
@rlschaller That is wonderful that your current chemo regimen has gone on so long, and we hope for it to last ever longer. It is certainly disuptive when you have to start yet another new drug and wait to see how it will affect you. Good that you are feeling well. Is it a bit of a relief to get to the end of a an academic year and get a well-earned break?
@cookie54 Hope that those winter falls did not do any lasting damage. Bubble wrap might not be such a bad idea after all, especially for those of us with bone mets!
Is this your wedding weekend? Wishing you and yours the happiest of days.I've completed six cycles of eribulin this week. It would be nice to stay on that for a while. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why the bloodwork ranges so extensively from one time to the next. Also had my brain MRI results recently. The rad onc said that the post-radiation results were "fantastic", in that the tumour went from 3 cm down to 2 cm. I would have thought that "fantastic" would be that it is gone entirely but in her circles that is a good result. So I'll take it. MRIs will be repeated every three months for now.
Have a good weekend everyone!

@cookie54 What a beautiful bride and family Andrea! So wonderful to hear that you had the best day. Congratulations to all!
How are you feeling these days?
@rlschaller Thank you for your kind words Rhonda! How are you and how are your skin mets?
Does anyone have any upcoming scans? If so, wishing you all the best for them. They seem to come around awfully quickly.

@scgal08 Awww thanks, was wonderful! I had my scans last week and they were good! So still riding the Xeloda wave as long as possible, so grateful. How have you been? Energy level been better? I’m sure the weather has been beautiful, hope you’re feeling well enough to enjoy it.
@rlschaller Hi there, how are ya? Will you be working this summer?

@scgal08 @cookie54 and all who read along ❤️
All is good here. Scans on May 30 , feel good and no new skin lesions. Still 93 degrees ugh, but down to 67 tomorrow.
Some new news, my MSK dermatologist team wants me to try a topical immunotherapy for the new small Mets on my stomach, there are 4 dots that appeared in early April, just when I finished radiation and before I went back on chemo lol….and haven’t grown much . They feel I’m a good candidate and they have had some success with small skin Mets before, so I’m going to try it. So first a biopsy to make sure they are cancer, and then start the cream , it’s called Imiquimod . I’ll keep you posted.!
Not teaching this summer, working on a few grants for my Mindfulness Collaboratory project . Thanks god for zoom. I went to campus on Monday and was exhausted after an hour lol.. everyone wanted to talk to me in person, and after the fourth mini meeting I’d had it. Was so happy to come home. My fatigue is my only real side effect. Like swimming with clothes on. But it comes and goes in waves which is good.
Yah Andrea for good scans, ride that Xeloda wave ! 🌊 I bet you are still riding the wedding happiness too.
Rita - how you are feeling? Sending joy and love to all ❤️1 -
@rlschaller Yes, big cool down here today and it feels glorious! Well I'm glad your slowing down the pace for the summer, that overwhelming fatigue is awful. Very interesting on the topical immuno cream, we are so fortunate to have all these great minds who develop these treatments. I will be rooting for success and I'm glad they haven't grown much but nevertheless it's worth a try! Enjoy the cool weather and unwinding from your busy school year.

Hello ladies,
Good news all around regarding your scans! How good to hear.
@cookie54 We hope that your Xeloda run continues for a long time yet Andrea! I've been okay, thanks, but my energy level … I could stop and take a nap anytime, it seems, though the fatigue will still be there when you wake up. That's one of the most daunting effects of this whole business.
@rlschaller And further to the above, swimming with clothes on is a great analogy Rhonda! That would be many pounds of clothes. Yet we keep on slogging.
That is certainly an interesting concept, the topical immunotherapy. I do hope that it works well for you, if you do qualify for it. Wishing you a good rest this summer break.
Hugs to all!

Hi gals, @cookie54 @scgal08 and all who read along - Happy summer
Stopping in to say . It’s been so nice, have been on a digital holiday and work holiday. Resting, reading, eating, laughing..napping often ! Turning in towards the fatigue like a skid on the road..lol.. might as well enjoy the yummy feeling of lying down in air conditioning. And ride it out ! They think I might be slightly anemic, which is making it worse, so I’ll find out when the blood tests come back. Folic acid is low w and RBC.. we’ll see.
The topical immunotherapy cream has been interesting. I did it for a week, then came down with a mystery fever, not too high but we stopped for a week, now I’m back on… the Mets respond though which is neat. But this 100 fever is weird… Tylenol brings it right down, so life goes on. I’m so enjoying my staycation! I’m not ready to retire, but it gets me thinking lol.Scans were delayed but went yesterday, go to MSK Friday. And leading my cancer derm nurses in a meditation retreat on Thursday on zoom. So a little bit back on digital.
Hope you all are flourishing and sending hugs! Rhonda1 -
@rlschaller Sounds like you are coasting along nicely, apart from the mystery fever. That is a strange thing. I've been anemic what seems like most of my life, and my GP pointed out that I needed to go back on iron supplements. I feel kind of old to be taking those.
Good that the immunotherapy cream has been working, excepting for the fever aspect.
The fatigue though … like you said, lots of lying down. That has been one of the most difficult parts of this whole slog.
Wishing you good results on the scans and your Friday appointment.
I was supposed to have dental surgery today, but yesterday's preparatory bloodwork indicated that my neutrophils were at rock bottom. So no surgery. The health-care team is extremely infection-conscious, as well they might be. But it is frustrating just the same.
Hello @cookie54 and anyone else out there. Have a good day!
1 -
@rlschaller Hey there Rhonda it's good to see ya! Sounds like you are taking some much needed time for yourself, rest up and nap away! Wow sounds like the cream is working well aside from the fever. I hope you're able to continue using it and the fever subsides, fingers crossed. Very cool to be leading the nurses in a virtual meditation, enjoy. Sending positive vibes your way for scan results❤️
@scgal08 Hi there, ugh such a bummer to have dental surgery delayed! I hope your not in pain and are able to get reschedule once neutrophils rebound. Will add an extra prayer for improving labs for you.🤞
All is well here. We have been enjoying the start of summer also. Our boat is in the water and we started our summer rental In Maryland on Friday. Buster swam his little heart out and is still recuperating lol. So we'll bounce back and forth between NJ and MD between until Labor Day.
Hi to all here, always in my daily thoughts.
