@shanagirl I am sorry you are feeling so weak and dealt with sepsis from an infection as well. I am in your pocket as well. Please look up bed exercises if you are feeling week. Great ankle and calf exercises can be done while in bed and of course standing but bed may be more helpful til the energy level comes up. If sitting, can bounce your feet on floor, helps with strength as well. Don't worry about doing whole closet at once, pick a shelf or hanger and chip away at it. Take rest break and if you feel up to it, do another section. I get weak and sleepy most of the day, I can also do Paul Eugene senior gold 10 min exercise, does arms and legs.
No more suggestions from me, you will decide what works best with what you are dealing with.

I got breakfast at Mcdonalds, they had a buy one get one free on sausage mcmuffins so got two of those and an egg mcmuffin meal and couple hashbrowns, not sure how they make their hashbrowns taste so good but it was really good. Still got one more sausage mcmuffin and the egg mcmuffin. I will refrigerate those and have later on.

@intolight - Really sorry about the UTI and other current troubles with energy and oxygen. Thinking of you with fingers crossed 🤞.
@shanagirl - So sorry that the recovery looks like it will take a good while. Wish it could be so much faster for you. Love the picture of your granddaughter and great-grandson, Layne. A picture really is worth a thousand words, and thanks so much for sharing it. Thinking of you and sending a big hug.

Good early morning if anyone is a silly as me to be up at this hour. I usually do not have trouble sleeping, but since Pigeon became ill and passed, I can't sleep properly. So much going on. Haven't rec'd approval yet for Ibrance holiday, but the nurse did call. I can not have that molar pulled until after July 27. I think I'll call an oral surgical dentist and discuss another root canal versus pulling the tooth. So afraid of that possible side effect from being on X-Geva. Forgive me, I can not recall the name of the complication, but I know it is serious(osteonecrosis?).
Primary Care office pushed the pulmonologist to see me. They never respond to my calls, probably because I was adamant that I did not want to participate in a sleep study. I needed a pulmonologist to follow my lungs after two rounds of pneumonia and pleural effusions. Appt. June 26.
@shanagirl I am following your healing path. Do be patient and it will flow thru your body soon. What a horrible complication from red tide. I never knew the potential for such a serious illness. @mara51506 We hit on a wonderful lunch at the hospital cafeteria today. A side cook had chicken tacos, but they were so much more. The beans were homemade, rice seasoned just right as well as the shredded chicken. The salsa was homemade also. Can't speak to gucamola as I don't care for it. There was so much we had leftovers. With two meals, one large lemonade our bill was $19.00.
Please take care all and in your pockets for scans.

@irishlove I was up til 3am watching videos on Facebook but that was fine, not unusual for me. I tend to nap throughout the day so I have plenty of sleep. 19.00 is a great price for multiple meals at the hospital, I have not heard of such good food at our hospital cafeterias. When I was in hospital, subway was a good meal for me. Glad you have leftovers. My Mcdonalds split into 3 meals, had the hash browns and a sasauge mcmuffin then the other free sausage mcmuffin for supper. Got the egg mcmuffin left so might make up a couple of hashbrowns to have with it. I am not too sure at this point. Could take the egg out with the ham, chop some extra cheese and butter up the english muffins. Could add some of the lentils I still have in fridge and add to the updated egg combo. Post later if have good stuff.
EDIT I took the last sausage mcmuffin. Took out the egg and sausage portion, put in my chopper then added 1/3 cup canned lentils. Once chopped, put into a hot pan with extra garlic spread and mainly just stirred around, took off heat quickly and dumped into a bowl to eat. English muffin portion from mcmuffin, toasted with garlic spread. Turned out perfect. Added little bit of plain mayo and the french onion dip as well. Stirred into the meal and it was really, really good.
EDIT 2 The order I put through for the burritos I usually got was cancelled, not sure why but apparently nothing there. I do see a tina's brand that I could probably try so put through another order with the tina's brand, I will see if it gets cancelled too. If so, will need to make up own recipe of bean and beef to have. Just take beefless ground to have and heat on the stove. Tina's brand burritos were also cancelled.
EDIT 3 I put together an express delivery of some beefless ground and black beans. Decided since I could not get more beef and bean burritos, would use beefless ground and chopped black beans to make up a good tasting meal.
FINAL EDIT Got 5 cans black beans, 3 packages of beefless ground, meant to get 1 wound up with 5 so there is that and finally 5 of the Old El Paso mild taco seasoning. Between these ingredients, I will not need to get burritos for a while now. I can also add frozen pepper slices and shredded cheese and just heat up in a pot on the stove and it would be good, have to see what I want to do. I did have a rush delivery, got here in about 45 minutes.
Laundry and floors mainly, need to vacuum the window sill in living room, was a pretty wild rain last night so some dirt brought in with wind and rain. I see we are going to hit our humid stretch in a week or two so will need to run the window AC as an efficient AC vs a window fan. I do find it more efficient as I blow out the dust most days. Powerful little blower, I also pull the lint filter out as every couple of days to run under tap. Surprisingly, no fuzz in there. I still use the hang up dryer to make sure is fully dry and it only takes 10 minutes. I am also expecting an order of burritos that I enjoy. Could not get them yesterday but will find out today if able to get them. 20 bucks because ordered off delivery, no different than getting skip the dishes. If I do not get them, no charge and no loss.
I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for everyone.

Final addition to prev post re dinner. I must say dinner was quite fantastic. 1/3 cup lentils, 1/3 cup black beans and 1/3 cup beefless ground. Did not want greasy beef so went back to the meatless option. I put those in the chopper first, added some shredded cheese to chopper and some chipotle and cheddar veggie crisps, chopped all together. Once done, sprayed pan, heated it up to high on the burner and then added all the chopped stuff in there, turned off heat and put 1/3 cup water to allow for the bit of sour cream and onion seasoning and taco seasoning and stirred pan alot and put a lid on. Once done, put mixture in a bowl, took some sour cream and some queso, added little bit of salt and just mixed all together. Oh my it was yummy and I dare say yummier than my burritos ever could be. Nutritious as well and because it was measured, on a cup of the 3main ingredients.

@mara51506 Sounds like you had a delicious meal filled with good protein. You'll have to add that to your rotation.
@shanagirl Don't be so hard on yourself, remember your body has and still is fighting off a major infection. One day at a time and you'll get there. Aww beautiful pic of your GD and great, thanks for sharing. Hugs and strength your way.
@irishlove Sorry your still feeling crummy. Sending hugs and healing your way.
@intolight Also sending healing thought and hugs to you too.
Sorry so many of our ladies here are hitting rough patches, I hate to hear of so many struggles , may they all be resolved soon❤️

@cookie54 You are right for sure, the chopped beans, lentils, cheese and beefless ground were very good. I bought more black beans in fact. Next meal could include some white rice but would need to make portions a bit smaller if so many tastes at the same time. Stubborn me though, put together order for more burritos, different flavour. I am not fully expecting them. I do think people have discovered they taste pretty good for a cheap meal and they get sold out quickly. I will be surprised if they arrive.
No real laundry to do so might wash up my throw blanket that I have been using. The big ones will be done over the weekend I think. Only two of them so not so bad to do. They do require the larger spinner that I have in the bedroom closet. It is garbage day as well. Most garbage I am storing just outside in my containers, Easy to go, take out bags and go out the front of the building. Take my cane by putting under my arm then carrying bag. Need railings, once down the stairs, resume using cane as normal. Feel bit more secure having a cane in hand.
Not quite ready for breakfast yet, debating heating up a couple of eggs in a sprayed bowl, add some beans and lentils and microwave a few minutes. I also got some mini pizzas that were on sale as well. Could take a couple of those and make up in the breville oven. Top with sliced peppers and cheese. I'll post meals later.
EDIT1 I did take two of the mini pizzas, they are about half the size of the great value mini pizzas. They do taste quite good. Other surprise, my burritos, the hot version of bean and beef arrived, was expecting them to be cancelled but they were not.
I hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for everyone.

Slept really good, short but no wake ups, solid. Laundry on the go. I had to dry up an outdoor garbage container as when lifted out a hole allowed old soda out. Washing that towel and others on a hot disinfect cycle. I was pleased to get all garbage and recycle out. Took a few trips and I do take breaks in between and am able to use my cane to help.
Nothing on the agenda today for me. No food delivery either. I did get burritos that were just test to see if they would arrive and they did. They were a spicy variety but I did not find them bad. Burritos and lentils could go together well. Today going to do something with a couple hashbrowns in the Breville oven, have an egg done with lentils, beans, beefless ground. Microwave those for a few minutes, let it cool then chop in with some cheese and heat the chopped stuff in a pan for a minute or two. Need to make sure I am using small amounts of each when doing a lot of ingredients. Later when I fall into the I don't know what to have trap, can simply have a meat pie and the lentils or a burrito and lentils. I will see and if remember to will post meals. The mini pizzas which I thought were a good deal actually are one half the size of the normal ones I get. I am thinking of baking one or two up first, let cool and toss in with a couple eggs and rice. Put some garlic in the bowl, microwave and do another chop with cheese and heat again in either the air fryer OR pan on the burner. I will post. Eggs will hold anything in the big bowl and the chop help me enjoy them more.
EDIT MEAL 1 I did make 2 eggs, added bit of butter and ranch dressing, put in beefless ground, lentils and beans and 2 of the tiny mini pizzas. Heated in microwave for 6 mins, wanted everything to cook through. I did take yogurt and some queso with taco seasoning. It was surprisingly good. Did not add cheese or feel the need to chop it up. Yummy.
Also want to open my plain yogurt, use those with other seasonings as a savoury binder.
Floors need doing as well, really like the mopping. Planning to take a sock mop and put on the bristles of a broom and dust out the bottom of the couch, just have to clear out stuff being stored under there. Then do a nice mop with the swiffer wet jet. I like the smell of the original but al like taking lid off and putting in my own stuff. I will see. I have three more bottles of stuff, accidentally ordered more, meant to get one.
Enough yapping. Been typing a while but lost post about 4 times. Realizing I need to hold up my right hand so that it does hit a key to delete. Hoping everyone has a good day and in pockets for everyone.

I am also feeling clever. I do have paypal that I use to cash out games but have to have 15.00 to cash out from paypal. My thought was to take 5.00 per week and send it to paypal and get to 15.00 faster, make a few bucks from watching ads on my mobile or occasionally playing games. I will see what I decide to do.
5 -
@mara51506 True ,why not make a buck or two when you have down time. I used to earn in swagbucks but I fell off the wagon with that. I still use Fetch which involves nothing but taking a picture of receipts to earn points. Maybe I'll pop back on swagbucks and see what's happening.
Hope everyone is having a good day☺️
2 -
@cookie54 I was a die hard swagbucks user back in the day. I was savvy enough to run my work software on swagbucks and do the tv clicks for 150SB and watch the different videos. There are fewer offers for Canadians as it is and have largely let it fall off. When I think of it, I will play the 6SB free games and do the trivia. I use Justplay mostly, watch a lot of ads or play games I like or Moneytime, there is an easy peasy game to play and I watch the proper ads in between. I also have bing and Mistplay, I should do that since no need for leveling up and stuff.
I am doing chores. Floors, laundry and cat care stuff. Realizing I do not do floors properly. Need to completely sweep or vacuum debris or else when mop, leave ring of dust around furniture when mop. Going to fix that first. Sweep stuff first, vacuum debris then mop avoiding the pile of wet dust around furniture.
Lots of food ideas. Thinking another egg meal, 1/4 cup rice seasoned whilst cooking with cheese powder from Kraft Dinner, add some taco seasoning to flavour up the rice. Lentils and beefless ground added as well, may require two eggs. I am going to heat in microwave 6 mins, puny 700 W requires longer cooking time. May add some cheese as well. Make everything one bowl except the rice. I am thinking it could be very good. Will post what I have later of course.
EDIT 1 I am doing the rice first, added various seasoning to the water to give rice flavour, add little more water. A lot of taco seasoning, did not grab KD cheese powder. I did wind up finding tortillas of all things, cheese taco shells and a cheesy sauce as well. Need to use some of that up but not now. Need to put the eggs, 1/3 cup of the lentils and beans, sprinkle some cheese as well, should be very good.
EDIT 2. I did almost all the ingredients besides lentils and eggs. Decided to use egg cooked in mini griddle on a toasted english muffin later. Lentils were not available. I did use the flavoured rice, beefless ground and beans, put shredded cheese in as well, did the Microwave for 4 mins since no eggs, once out of microwave put binders, sour cream and lime crema and garlic mayo, not too much of either. Was really good.
Hope all have a great day, in pockets for all.

Dropping off someone to help if feeling sick or down.

Well good early morning all. Hope that the day was a good one for you.
I've never worried about drug or alcohol addiction. Fortunate that I do not have an addictive personality, with the exception of quilts, dogs, cats and flowers. So I am cautious about meds. You see sometimes I feel like my brain is more than fogged. My memory is diminishing. Is it MS or cancer or pills, who knows, but it is upsetting. When I look at the morning rounds of pills to take, I think to myself wow I will be on these the rest of my life. My wish is that we could control the pain better with less meds or different meds, to have a better quality of life. I'm not sure how much pain should be acceptable. I suffer everyday and most days anxious to just take the midnight meds and go to bed. Not a good life, just an existence. Ok, done with my rant.
Our new addition to the family, 7 year old Buddy is helping to make us all happy again. He is so sweet and loving. His face looks like a St. Bernard, but he is much smaller and slimmer. I think he's been thru alot, dewormed a number of times, treated for heartworms, too. Lost his home thru no fault of his own. He does not guard his food or show aggression. Minnie seems to be making moves to accept him into "her" pact. lol. He is a gentleman and she is the head mistress. lol
I asked for and rec'd a month break from Ibrance. I don't know what to do about this molar/crown. Already had a root canal so probably should be pulled, It hurts like a bear. Problem is MO said I can't have an extraction till the end of July. I can not wait that long as the pain and infection has spread to temple area. I just finished antibiotic so I feel out in no man's land as what to do. Start calling oral surgeons, hopefully in my insurance network and do another root canal. I also have crystals in my urine and back ache, so possible kidney stones or trying to form stones. I drink a ton of water, but I know the meds dehydrate us and it's100 degrees outside this last week. Hope to address these issues and heal soon. This Ibrance break is much needed.
In pockets for all my sweet friends here. I'm sorry I ran on so long.

@irishlove I am glad Buddy is such a good addition to the family, glad you are off Ibrance as well. I am sorry you've got problems orally, will be in your pocket for that to be solved for you. Never apologize for a longer post. I tend to run long at times too and there is nothing wrong with talking via the keyboard. Have you met my posts, especially as I drone on about food or budget boosting, floors and laundry.
I woke to what I thought was my alarm but it was the cancer centre reminder of Wednesday Herceptin the only other appointment is Sunday 28th but will book that I think on Wednesday. It will be a long day since seeing MO as well and having bloodwork. Thought about changing then thought why bother, just go and do the MRI, make sure necrosis is not reappearing. I am not worried anymore, if it comes back post Jan surgery, I will find if there are more treatments that can be done.
I will be doing laundry, I have some clothes and bedding to do, did not finish the cycle so starting again. Not worried, use so little detergent no difference. Still gets really sudsy in there, got socks to clean up as well, for that will either wash them separately in the smaller washer OR the small salad spinner I kept as a mini washer. I works well, do small bits of laundry in there, still spin using my portable machine as well. I do spin stuff twice now, still use the wool balls and save electricity as it does not take long to dry stuff in there anymore.
I will be using lentils, rice, eggs, cheese and possibly beans along with beefless ground. Small portions of each. 2 eggs. Microwave those, choose whatever seasoning to go in. I did happen to find unopened liquid cheese from Old El Paso soft taco back so thinking can make a mix of the quesos I have using cheese, tostitos queso and some of the queso crema. Mix them up and put them in a previously used tostitos jar to live in the fridge. I will see. Posting meals as they come up.
EDIT MEAL1 So little bit less stuff in there. 2 hashbrowns heated in breville oven. Once done, I did chop up 1/3 cup of black beans with shredded cheese. scooped into a large bowl and added a burrito. 3 mins 30 seconds for beans and burrito to heat up in microwave, dumped in the e hash browns. Cut everything up. Added salt and sour cream dry seasoning, a bit of ranch seasoning and a bit of caesar seasoning. I love how the beans when chopped into cheese come out looking like a ground beef texture. Meal was delicious if I do say so myself. No idea what I would have for the second meal. I will check the freezer and see what I come up with, could be eggs and sliced frozen peppers with beefless ground. I really don't know. Dishes are soaking in hot water and dish soap for now.
I do hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for all too.

@irishlove - Irish, so sorry about your tooth and your inability to get anything done for it in a timely way. Ugh! I also understand your feeling about just existing and not really living. I don't feel that way all the time, but I do sometimes, and it does seem like that feeling becomes more predominant over time, as we all trudge on here with our various meds and treatments. Just not right. In your pocket and fingers crossed that you find a solution (an easy painless one) very soon!
3 -
@irishlove feeling sad you are going through so much pain and frustration with your tooth problems. Having a furry baby like Buddy sure helps! I understand your discussion of quality of life. My mind goes there everyday. I told my MO and family having a good QOL is my main target. On the three days I struggle with other Taxol SEs all my teeth hurt. I fear necrosis, then it goes away for another week with no other problems. Since it coincides with my bone pains, I dismiss it, but next dental appt I will have it checked out. I don't have near the problems you have and it is what keeps me on treatment. Rant away dear friend.
I fear my UTI is back so the antibiotics were probably the wrong ones. That's what I get for not going in for a lab. Of course today is Sunday, and Father's Day. I will call and see what I can do tomorrow. Hopefully I can feel well enough to enjoy a Father's Day meal out. My DD and DGD got home about midnight last night from their Caribbean Cruise trip. They were scheduled to arrive at 9:00pm in CO Springs but of course flight delays messed everything up. My poor DH drove two hours to Denver (yes, it is DIA) to pick them up instead of them waiting until the commuter flight the airlines rebooked them for at noon today. (Poor sentence but you get the meaning.) That also means they don't have their luggage. Their poor little dog went crazy last night when they walked in the door. She does well with me since we live in the same house but obviously favors my DD and DGD.
@mara51506 I think of you everyday. I don't know how you always sound so positive when you are handling your troubles basically alone. Thank you for your daily notes and for keeping this forum going. You are special.
I pray blessings and good days for everyone here.

@irishlove I do empathize with the feeling of not being able to finish stuff off on time myself. Yes I have daily chores but I have a very small apartment too and gads of brooms, vacuums as well and take maybe a minute to make things look better. Would not be able to keep up otherwise. Usually do some bed exercise and stretches whn wake up, easiest thing to do. I have to say, I also do a lot of sleeping through the day too. If I get something sone, great, if not, there is always tomorrow. I soak dishes that really do not need it in order to do a quick rinse. I cannot stand and scrub them down. I am still in your pocket and want you to feel better soon.
5 -
I have to say that I am doing probably 90 percent of stuff on my own. I am resistant to call DB or SIL as they tend to think I call only if something is wrong but I did just call DB, asked about his week and Father's Day activities. He's going to niece's house and she is making chinese food, sounds good to me and nice to talk to him. I realize that I need to reach out a bit more. I don't call with questions that I can google or talk about stuff they do not care much about. Did that when I was younger mostly, I talked to fill in the air mostly. I've curbed those habits mostly. Anyway, nice convo with DB and covered everything in about 5 mins which works for us both. Made me happier.
5 -
I just want to say Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. Hope you all have a pleasant and rewarding summer day!
My dad's been gone for 13 years now and I miss him every day, and still give him extra special thoughts, love, and appreciation every Father's Day.
Happy first day of summer 🌞 to all too.

I have been using a walker to get around. The diagnosis was tendanosis in my right hamstring. The walker has helped it improve but also keeps me pretty homebound. DD has been awesome shopping for food and spending her entire day off taking me out for breakfast, then to see DH at memory care, and shopping at TJMaxx where I got a lunch box to hold my iPad, coffee and snacks for chemo. It will also hold art supplies for painting outside. It was the first time in a month that I had been in a store not for groceries.
8 -
@wren44 Glad you get out with DD and to the store. Lunch box is a good idea, we just don't know how much we need when at our appointments.
I take a crossbody bag for the water and charger with cords, god forbid I run out of power. My main bag is also crossbody so have one on the left should, one on the right. The main bag has keys, wallet and holds my phones. One is main phone for calls other does my music. I always ask for cheese, digestive cookies and gingerale in the chemo suite.
I also got a grocery delivery delivery, bought kitten food, my cat Tigger is a bit thin for my taste so increasing his calories. He does have a good appetite though. Needed lightweight litter as well. I used to do it on Amazon but they started saying I had to buy a minimum of two, PIA when only need one. Got myself some Oh Henry and a ouple of Tostitos queso stuff.
4 -
Hi all. Hope your families enjoyed fathers day and/or lovely summer day. We were blessed with rain. Might just help with the water bill. In this heat I find the plants need watering a.m. and p.m. I see the birds are coming for water. I moved the bird bath and put a pump in it to try to attract more birds. DH removed the ragged Crepe Myrtle from side yard. It was up against the home and dragging on the roof.
I think tomorrow night will be the one night only that the night blooming cyrus plant does it's thing. There are 6 trumpet like closed flowers that will open one night only and then dry up and fall of from the main plant. It's so worth the wait as it's beautiful. More trumpets may form again in the season.
Mara, you amaze me with your ability to live life to the fullest. As my Grandmother use to say "She doesn't let any moss grow under her feet". LOL It's so wonderful to have some family nearby, even if the contact is minimal. As my DH will be 80 soon, it's harder for him to take care of this house. He spent most of the day eating brownies we made for Father's Day, playing with Buddy and sleeping. I believe the slow moving blood cancer may be causing severe fatigue. But also the "feel like" temp. of 104 the other day didn't help.
Hi Wren. So good to see you post. I hope your DH is finding the Memory Center comforting and aiding with his needs. I imagine it's difficult for both of you and missing each other. So glad family was able to visit for Father's Day to celebrate.
First thing tomorrow is find the oral surgeon who will take me on as a patient. I believe my dentist is afraid to deal with me due to health problems. Then I need to alert Primary Care Dr. of kidney stones (definetly fighting them). Reading up on the cause covers about every drug I am on and other illness I have could be causing them. Thank you everyone for your love and concern. Sometimes I feel like I'm just falling apart and forget I need to take one step, one problem at a time.
In pockets for all your scans and needs.

@irishlove Buddy sounds like a blessing for you and your family. You rescued each other and I’m sure he will help brighten your days. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this awful dental issue, I hope you get quick action on this. The break from Ibrance sounds like it’s warranted for now. Hope the weather cools down a bit for you guys very soon .
Sending healing vibes your way❤️@intolight Hope you’re able to get quick action today also on the lingering UTI . I know its a pia to get in for a urinalysis but as you said may be necessary to wipe this out. Hope you were able to enjoy Father’s day with your family.. sheesh what a travel debacle for them.Healing vibes and hugs 🤗
@wren44 It is difficult to have to slow things down and lean on family members to help. Glad at least your able to get around with the walker, hope it’s not painful. I’m sure it felt good to get out into a regular store and browse . Your DD sounds like a wonderful daughter and it’s nice you both spent time with DH . I can only imagine how hard it is for you both. Sending strength your way.
@mara51506 Yes your always our old faithful here keep us all chatting. We appreciate you and admire your determination every day!❌⭕️
We had a nice Father’s Day boating with our newlyweds. It’s nice to see them happy and enjoying life! Dental appointments this week thanks to dry mouth that I inherited with treatments causing decay at the gum line. Well I know it’s nothing new here we all have our dental issues from this crap.! Oh well I’m still here to tell the story….
Continued prayers and good vibes to all struggling ❌⭕️

Thank you all for saying you do not mind my talking on here, I appreciate having people who are interested.
I slept decently enough, got the usual laundry, chores like floors and making sure AC filter is clean, I also blow out the machine as dust is terrible. Have to pull out stuff from under couch and put a broom underneath. No grocery orders. I did my ankle exercises, rotations both ways for a 10 count and the push angles out and bring them back for 10 and bridge for legs also a 10 count. I took a pillow and shoved between my legs and exercised thighs for 10. Quite a few things I can get done.
Not sure on meals today, that is always the case. Need to use up beans and one of the packs of beefless ground and also eggs, did not use those yesterday. Will post later on what I decide to have as always.
EDIT1 was jonesing for a burger meal, got mcdouble, removed ketchup and mustard and put extra onions on it small fries and strawberry fruitopia. I stll have the big mac sauce so will convert burger to a pretty close big mac without paying the extra 10.00.
EDIT 2 Opened new pack of Sock Mops, they are huge so decided to grab the excess at back of feet and put an elastic around, makes them fit better.
I do hope all have a good day and in pockets for everyone.

Hope everyone is having a good day. They are testing fire alarms in all of our apartments today and tomorrow, so I'm planning to essentially not be here for two days. The sound is absolutely awful and it goes on randomly all day, each day. A friend and I are going to go out to breakfast tomorrow, and maybe do some other stuff, but I'm on my own today, and with no car, as it needs to go in the shop. I'll probably spend the day here in the business district in which I live, just going to the library and a couple of local eating places, just to kill the time. These Xeloda side effects don't help either - even on this "off week", as they can actually be even worse than during the "on week". So many here complain about the volume level of these alarms, but our maintenance people tell us the extremely (ridiculously!) loud sound level is required by law. Oh well, this too shall pass. At least it's sunny and warm (low 80's) and that will be nice for walking around the neighborhood.
Thinking of everyone here and hoping all are doing reasonably well!
4 -
@threetree I do not enjoy fire alarm testing myself, can usually drown it out by watching my tv with wireless earbuds that I have. I am glad you have figured other stuff you can do to avoid the noise though, enjoy your field trip.
I slept well, need to go to bed earlier tonight since going to be up earlier tomorrow, might pack my snacks and stuff tonight, get rid of my beard, thank you menopause tomorrow and cover myself in make up. I used to take hours to get ready but since my wigs don't require a bunch of work, takes way less time to get ready. Most different styles just have me wet my fingers with water and make hair look more interesting.
I am not sure about meals, know I forgot yesterday to post all. Oh well, thinking of hashbrowns, white rice and lentils, later have more beefless grounds, chopped beans and cheese and an egg done up in the mini griddle. If I remember will post about it. I also have cheese sauce from the old el paso taco bake from back in the day. I could go for a really cheesy rice, chopped beans, lentils with some taco seasoning added. Since I have so much of the cheese, thinking could stick the cheese in the old tostitos glass jars or combine them together in the jars. I will have to see what I think about it.
EDIT 1 I have been eyeing my sour cream and chives noodles and decided to have the package. I made it up as directed, only added some sour cream and onion seasoning as it simmered, I stirred enough, nothing stuck together and ate full package. I liked it, sometimes plain is better.
When laying in bed before getting up, saw a picture of a messy apartment on Facebook. People were commenting the person was just a slob so decided to comment my situation and cancer. Mentioned had 2nd brain surgery and family helped get my place clean and organized and that people should not judge. They don't know the situation, whether mental or physical issues or if there is help. I just get upset about that.
Got laundry to finish and toss in dryer. Sock mops with elastics are just fine, still pick up lots of dust and fur. Still using the swiffer wetjet quite often, I love it. Have to pull out cat box so I can get in with broom or vacuum and figure out where to shake out litter mat as I don't know if it would be a good idea just to toss in the wash. I will figure it out.
I hope everyone has a great day and in pockets for all.

@mara51506 - Thanks Mara. That's right, you live in an apartment building too, so you know how it goes! I do have some ear muffler things, but they muffle all sound unfortunately, and if I have them on for any length of time, it actually starts to feel kind of eerie and creepy, that all sounds are faint. I think getting out is better if I'm able, as I am today. Overall of course, it's a good thing for all that they do this, but it does come with a price. Just about to head out (I'm on Pacific time), and looking forward to experiencing a bit of a different day and seeing what it will bring. Have a good day yourself.

@threetree Testing fire alarms is definitely not a good sound to have to endure all day. I remember those days from when I lived in our San Diego condo five years ago. Now, we have to deal with random alarms that go off when the batteries go weak all over our house. Me DH has replaced all of our alarm batteries in the past two months trying to be proactive and one persistent one still went off yesterday. He says the CO2 part is defective and he is struggling to remove it to replace it. He is not a fan of our high ceilings right now!
@mara51506 You are right that people do not understand how difficult it is to maintain a clean house when you feel sick everyday especially when it has gone on for a long time. After ten years I finally broke down and hired a housekeeper to help me. We have a large house, and since our funds are doing well right now it is worth it to me so things don't get out of control. Besides, it forces us to pick up our little piles and put things away. She came yesterday and it was so nice to wake up today to a clean kitchen and sparkling bathroom. We only have her clean the master bedroom and bath, the kitchen and living area. We can manage the rest as it doen't get used much, and my DD takes care of her own space downstairs. I can do light dusting and take care of myself but not much more with any thoroughness.
