@irishlove We are not hot right now and it is cool but no way to enjoy since air quality is still poor from wildfires. I know there are some in US but most smoke coming from Northern Ontario. We have crews, water bombers and others working their way out there but problem is, the forest up there is super dense and not all of it even has roads and we are dealing a province which is 55% bigger than Texas. I hope that winds move away from the north, not sure if east, west would be as effective as south. Other than that, a good dumping of rain in the North may be of help in addition to all we are doing.

Got some sort of stomach bug, finally started throwing up. The stomach pain itself is minor, cannot say I am enjoying it but take antinausea is just stalling what needs to happen which is throwing up. If I have a bug of some sort, get rid of it that way. Got a bucket out here in living room, clearing out every few minutes. Asked DB if he can get me some gingerale later on. Doing best not to cry about this, figure I just need to get rid of whatever it is.

Laundry, floors etc will be forthcoming as well.

I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for all as well.

@mara51506 Ugh sorry you're dealing with a stomach bug, fingers crossed it's a 24 hr bug. Hope the ginger ale helps you feel a bit better. Yes those fires are a huge task to handle and I hope it clears this week, our air quality is much better here today. Feel better❤️

@shanagirl It's great to see ya, glad to hear you're doing ok.😊

@threetree Great news, may Xeloda continue to keep things under control🤞

@irishlove Stay cool they heat has been brutal this summer. Go Phil's, we really enjoyed watching the homerun derby and the All Star game and festivities. I thought they did a fabulous job representing Philly!

Thinking of many and hoping your struggles are minimal today💕

DB brought SIL over to drop off gingerale and she brought cleaner and some Pepto bismol tablets. Have not vomited since this morning but cramps are still a feature. Going to try have an english muffin, just butter, take usual digestive enzyme and a loperimide since it slows down digestion. Have not had the BIG D thankfully. If all goes well, will eat more normal tomorrow though keeping small amounts of anything I have. Not willing to take anymore zofran, I feel worse after it is taken being so drowsy.

I am still getting sick, not a whole lot though. Cramps are still on the mild side but between my tummy troubles is hunger hanging on too believe it or not. Will make a plain buttered english muffin, cannot see being able to eat it dry. I am also going to take both loperimide and a couple 4mg ondansetron with a digestive enzyme. I did not run into trouble this time so took couple more ondansetron and will head off to bed.

Hi everyone. I hope you all are safe from the horrible weather outbreak today. At one time there were double digit tornado warnings, especially in Ohio. Mother nature has been so wicked with these severe thunderstorms, flooding, winds and tornadoes. I don't think I had ever heard of a tornado warning so close to Manhattan as the one today. Like everyone else, hoping the weather gives us a break and soon.

Went out yesterday (boo) for my blood test. I encouraged DH to go to his primary Dr. for that horrible cough and rattle. It is pneumonia. He's on antibiotics and steroids. Next appt. in a week. He really does not take good care of himself, I have to nag sometimes. He told me his Dr. now has the latest in stethascopes that is attached to AI information gathering. He said that it is so advanced they can pick up the beginnings of other potential illnesses ie: heart disease, etc. I hope all the medical folks are able to obtain them. Can't say I'm crazy about AI that isn't closely monitored, but I really do not have the knowledge to make a broad opinion.

Mara, Intothelight and Shanagirl, hope you continue to improve and able to find the strength to accomplish all you wish to do. I'm guilty of wanting something done now and so I have to learn to do the work in piece meal. Hoping DD will come back to clean in the near future. We love our new pup (he's 7 but plays like a puppy) so much, but boy does he shed. I think we need to go to 2 times day brushing to get the undercoat as well as overcoat. He has a bloody nipple that I have applied bacatracin, hoping it'll heal soon. No swelling in the area or lumps. I think he just scaped it possibly on the dog door.

In pockets for scans and life in general Wishes for a pain free night and a better tomorrow.

I am having less than the best time with the window AC, I cannot for the life of me get the filter all the way back in, it goes in most of the way and stops, will not go in. I am trying out heating the filter in the hanging dryer, won't melt but could make it more flexible. In the mean time, taking some time away from the task as I have been extremely frustrated and emotional about the inability to either take off the front grill due to small window size or get the grill in. Plan is to use a mesh bag, they still breathe so would not block air going into the AC, just the crud. I have used the blower I have to keep extra stuff out. I am trying out heating the plastic filter to see if it would go in easier later.

Got a Mcdonalds breakfast, need food in me and chores won't do themselves. Egg Mcmuffin and hash browns with a nice tea. That will cheer me up some, takes a while for me to talk myself out of feeling frustrated.

@irishlove I am glad you finally got your DH in to see the doctor. Men can be so stubborn about that! I go see my PCP Monday for my annual check and will be interested to see if she has the latest stethescope. The HMO she works for is usually up to date on things. When my DD said she wanted a get a dog, since she and my DGD live in our basement and works a lot, she needed to ask. I told her fine but as long as it didn't shed since I knew I would have to take care of her too. She didn't want that either so she got a multipoo; part poodle and part maltese. She doesn't shed at all and has been a delight. She is a people dog and always sits next to someone in the house. She also has the personality of a therapy dog and knows when I am not doing well.

@mara51506 Sounds like you are feeling better. That is good!

I think my broken leg is doing much better. I see the orthopedic doctor on Monday before my PCP appointment. If the leg is doing well I will be able to switch to an ankle brace rather than the boot. (It's only been two weeks.) They sure do things differently now with no casts.

The heat has been tough here in CO Springs also. It should hit 93 today. Fortunately the evenings always cool off but we always fear fires with dry grasses in the plains and dry forests.

    Stay safe.

Hi @irishlove and @mara51506 @intolightWe had severe thunderstorms last night due to the extreme heat. Some tornado watches in some counties here in NJ.. but they all moved thru quickly. We got much needed rain though. I’m still in the slump of feeling low emotionally. I do get this way every month after Fasoldex & Xgeva injections, but it seems this month, I’m really Dow dark and tired. I feel numb emotionally Not enjoying anything. I guess I’m in a depression.

I made Pesto on pasta and chicken last night bu it was an effort to stand in the kitchen and cook. I still feel so weak and breathless. It discourages me not being active like I used to be.. Mara I;m glad you are feeling better and eating.

Yes Irish I have to nag my husband to see the doctor, and when he finally goes there is always somthing they find causing his symptoms that I nag about. Always something to worry about with our DH.

@irishlove There was a boatload of rain. Do not believe we had a tornado here. Northern Ontario got quite a bit of rain so that will be helpful to tamp down the fires up north.

I am having a heck of a time trying to get the filter back in my AC in the bedroom, lots of yelling and swearing going on, have to take a look at taking off the front possibly as the filter will not go in no way and no how. If no luck will cover the grill end with a mesh bag. So long as everything is covered with those, nothing will blow in the house. My dryer vent is nothing bag covering the exhaust hose. I am going to wreck the actual filter if I keep trying. Will use painter tape to attach the mesh bag. Should keep everything out of the machine itself and allow machine to breathe too, not sure if they overheat. Am unable to screw off front grill due to being unable to take out screws, not enough room to get my hand in on the one side. I've looked online but most videos have people who can get front grill taken off

Finally finagled the filter to be taped with painters tape on outside. Covered up original slot for the filter to slide in with painter tape, fully confident that little to no dust getting in the machine and feel better even if filter on the outside. Also used painters tape because it is easy enough to blow stuff out. I had more stuff in the filter than expected. Can still blow out inside.

Enjoyed the Mcdonalds breakfast, it did not last long as I was hungry. Feeling better than before and resonably confident is safe to use it.

I hope all have good days, appointments and getting better if not well, in pockets for everyone.

@shanagirl Beautiful picture, such a cutie! I hope the sunshine and beautiful weather we’re having now brings you happiness today 💕

    @mara51506
Glad you came up with a temporary solution for the filter. You always amaze me with your grit and determination!

@intolight Happy to hear your leg seems like it’s healing rather quickly. Enjoy a little more freedom without the boot! Stay cool.

@irishlove Hope DH is on the mend and you’re having a better week.

Hi to all here, wishing all a peaceful day💐

@intolight - Re what @cookie54 noted above: I fell a couple of years ago and fractured my shoulder. I wound up not needing surgery, but they gave me a sling to wear. I was really surprised at how soon they told me I could drop the sling, and then just be extra careful, etc. Then seemingly before I knew it, I was given the "all clear" that I could do just about anything I'd been doing before the fracture. It really can go smoother and faster than what we initially expect, and I imagine that is what is happening with your leg. I too am glad to see that things are going fairly quickly for you and feel that before you know it, you will be back to a much more "regular" life. Hope your summer is going well otherwise, and that you are enjoying what you can of the warmer weather.

Good early morning everyone. I haven't been able to fall asleep, so I guess I'll play night owl for a bit longer.

My therapist has a torn rotator cuff. She will be unavailable for 3 months! The company will supply a substitute, but she's simply the best. I know a few of us had falls recently and it is amazing how quickly we can heal. Maybe it's because we are a bit older and follow doctors directions. lol. Ok, so I said maybe.

It was 97 here in Palm Coast today. No rain. I looked out the window and saw my above ground large planter contents were struggling with shriveled up leaves and flowers dried out. I had watered heavily last night but the morning sun that use to be lovely for the plants and flowers is now overwhelmingly hot. We won't go in the pool until well after sunset. It's not refreshing with that sun beating down on us. Forecast says no change for next 7 days. I am ready for fall, any other takers?

MO appt for DH Monday at 11. MO appt. for me at 1. We see different MO's. I think it's time for DH to start treatment for his possible lymphoma or CLL diagnosis. Let's get it pinned down first, of course. His blood tests are increasingly concerning month after month. Plus he's on antibiotics for pneumonia and he has a serious skin problem for a year now. His dermatologist dismissed it. His primary said an epipen would be a waste. It's ridiculous that he gets what he believes to be "needle ant" bites. They ooze fluid drainage, develop huge inflammatory reactions and then leave scaring. He has about 6 bandaids on with antibiotic ointment currently. A number of bites are smaller that he has, too. I have yet to see an ant bite him, but he is showing the horrible bumps after being in the grass or mowing the lawn. I think because his immune system is so poor, that he can't shake these bites. And they are so itchy. Plus they develop on any part of his body. He has 2 on his temple area so close to his eye. I think he needs to change dermatologists.

In pockets for all the sweethearts here and those that check in once in awhile.

@irishlove - A rare morning here, where I actually have some energy to compose a post of some kind.

Yes, I would generally be another taker for fall to arrive, although I have to say, we have had some really nice days here that I have been enjoying. We did have one a few days ago though, that got up to 94 with a pretty muggy feeling - that's pretty high and uncomfortable for us here in the Puget Sound Lowlands. Yesterday, we had low 80's, a very sunny and blue sky, with a nice gentle breeze. Can't beat that, but I do really enjoy when September hits and that little nip is in the air, along with the sunshine. That's the best; along into October.

So sorry to hear about all the troubles your husband has been having. Bug bites can be nasty and really annoying. I've never heard of "needle ants" before. One of the things I find interesting in your posts is hearing about all the different flora and fauna you have, that we don't. Very different from here of course, as we are at opposite corners of the country. I sure hope he finds relief one way or another, and I wish you both well.

I had a burst of energy here the last couple of day, after about a week and a half off of my Xeloda/capecitabine. The full week off was my regular week off the drug, but I got 2-3 more days added, due to some bad side effects I was having. Those extra couple of days seemed to make a big difference for some reason. Back on the drug now, but I have managed to get a couple of good walks in, and get a bit more done around the apartment than usual.

Wishing a great week-end to all. Thinking of so many of you and how I wish I could post more personally to so many, but the fatigue this drug causes can just be overwhelming at times. In pockets for all and hoping for everyone to have pain free and pleasant days.

@irishlove I am so sorry your DH has to go through this nonsense. Yes, it sounds like he needs a different dermatologist! My DH and I purposefully have the same PCP and set our annual appointments so we can visit the office around the same time—saves driving. But we do go in privately. There is no excuse for not relieving medical misery if possible! We do have different specialists as we have different needs.

It will be hot today but we did get a lot of rain yesterday—too much in some areas.

Good morning Everyone! Nice to “see you”🥰

Sweet @irishlove it seems like you and your DH are really in need of some fall temperatures in October, the heat and the bugs are taking a toll on your plants and DH. Staying inside like the best alternative. I am so sorry your DH is going through all this discomforting bug bite tuff and the Pneumonia is another thing to really take care of. His lungs can go down quickly and the MO most likely is on top of it..mWhen I came back from Ft Myers in may with that hemorrhagic Pneumonia from the Red Tide bacteria, they put me on Azriamycin and Steroid 5 day pack an inhalers., Well my DH has Asthma all his life and he’s been coughs alot since coming back from Florida.. I’ve been nagging him to go to his GP who knows him well and listen o his lungs. We we thinking his asthma may have been triggered in May by that Red tide Algae bacteria bloom, because he was complaining of breathing issues down there, and has not felt right since.so his GP looked up how to treat RED Tide Repiratory Issues and put him on new inhaler and steroid pak and prescribed him a nebulizer to use at home if he is coughing a lot or feeling breathless. S I am so relieved he went finally. He was working outside in the heat in the garden and our neighbor said to him you s sound terrible you need to see a dr. So he finally went yesterday. I am also glad you had your rare burst of energy @irishlove . I need that so I can at least feel motivated to do so housework in my room to organize more……… Ugh I just lost half my post because I didn’t copy it, I posted to each one individually and now half my paragraph is gone, @cookie54 @intolight @threetree @mara51506 .so now just sending my love to you all and will comment again soon to each of you. Tomorrow going for Sunday scans I love going up on Sunday no traffick on parkway or turnpike, hospital is basically empty, an east day tomorrow.

@candy-678 I am sorry to hear you are dealing with the cramping and diarrhea, unpleasant symptoms to be sure. Definitely you should as MO and perhaps ask if immodium could be taken to slow the diarrhea depending how often it is happening. I am glad that there are no other side effects to deal with on top of the unpleasant ones, in your pocket.

I slept OK, got a bit of laundry on the go. Washing one of the swiffer dusters that I put a sock mop over top of, it really works well for the dusting. Usual chores on the go. I attach it with an elastic so it can be easily taken off. Covered another duster like that too.

I bought snack size bags of chips, 42 bags are on the way. They will function of course as snacks but also to beef up the flavour of different seasonings I use. I can just use a spice grinder to break them down.

Unsure what I want, thinking I want to keep it simple. Take some lentils and rice and have together with one of my many burritos. The Tina's burrito, besides being cheap tastes really good. Option 2 could see some beefless ground put in spray bowl, take cheese and lentils, mix those around and microwave those, I will decide and post about it later.

I hope all have a good day, in pockets for all. In my own pockets on completion of chores to get done and to stay off the politics on youtube. I will stop watching anything as it irritates me and not sure why I would go out of my way to make myself angry. That would be dumb. Better to focus on getting trash out on time. If I think I will get tired, can take out 1 to 2 bags an hour. I have a few to get out. Oh well, we will see. As far as stuff to watch, movies on prime video or rent movies and make popcorn. I want to watch the new Spiderman movie but think I will wait till it comes out on streaming and rent it. Make some popcorn too. Theatres and snacks are just far too expensive.
