Hello lovely ladies. I'm still feeling well. Been walking each day. Jullyn - interesting my surgeon wouldn't let me even entertain a double mastectomy. Said it wasn't warranted. I think you should do whatever will give you most peace of mind. As far as chemo making you feel yucky - I bought Chimes - they are a ginger candy ype that seemed to help me. I liked the orange and mango flavors. I also drank lots of water to help flush it out quicker - not sure this will help you or not, just suggestions. I also made ginger water - boiled chopped ginger root and strained to drink. Hope this weeks chemo treats you a bit better.

I promised to post the scar meds my paperwork talked about...

Scarrid Natural Scar Formula

Dermatix Silicone Gel

Revitol Scar Cream

Mederma PM Intensive Overnight Scar Cream

I'm sure there are more on the market and Carolyn shared one as well. I will be reviewing these and purchasing this week.

Hi Ladies,

I so enjoy our weekly meetings. It is a bright spot in an otherwise sad time. I had a rough time with chemo effects starting Tuesday night and all day yesterday. Just extreme nausea. I couldn't entertain the thought of eating or drinking anything. It was all I could do do eat ice chips. It eased up a little yesterday afternoon. Seriously though, if that's the worst I think it will be ok. I had been taking my anti nausea meds but not Imodium. I think I might start it a little sooner next round. I am not sleeping, days and nights are all messed up. Going to try a light breakfast in a bit and maybe work some today. My next chemo isn't until the 23rd so hopefully I will be back to a semi normal state by them. I am a baby not used to being ill or taking g meds!

Cleaning lady coming today to give me an estimate. She will probably charge double when she sees the state it is in!

Sorry you are feeling so lousy and I do hope that the worst is over for this round. I hired a cleaning lady too for support through this all. I hope she is affordable as it is one less thing to worry about. Hang in there!

MimiArmani - I had two offers to pay for a cleaning lady so thought why not? I'll take you up on that! I was afraid when company owner came to look Friday she would see all the cat hair, dust and all that and bolt or charge double. Instead, when cats came up she said she had 4 inside. So, my two are nothing. Lol. I finally felt like eating last night .

I didn't eat or drink much for two days. Forced small amounts of water. Today, however I'm waiting on my daughter to bring burgers. Of course, my taste is all messed up and everything feels like chalk in my mouth. I am upright, dressed and sitting on the porch.

Hello ladies, I decided to share a recipe that I ate quite often during chemo.

CLOUD CAKES

3 large eggs, separated

1/2 cup small curd cottage cheese

1/4 cup flour (you can use Almond if gluten intolerant)

1/4 tsp salt

1/3 cup milk (almond milk if you prefer)

In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks and cottage cheese. Mix salt into flour and gradually whisk into egg mixture. After flour has been incorporated, gradually whisk in milk until smoothly blended. In a separate bowl which is dry and free of any oil, beat egg whites just until stiff. Gently fold into yolk-flour mixture until evenly blended. Let batter stand 5 minutes.

Cook in 1/4 cup portions on a hot, greased griddle...like pancakes. Cook until lightly browned on each side. Divided among 4 plates and serve immediately. These are delicious topped with fresh fruit or fruit compote (many doctors encourage cooking our fruits).

Cheat: I put the whole batch into a cast iron skillet and bake like a frittata, 375 for about 15 minutes. Then slice it like a pie and have it several days in a row. High protein food that is rather bland in taste.

Sound interesting Mimiarmani. I might just make these after my next treatment.

Well, yesterday was the day. I got my hair all cut off as it was clumping out.

Looking forward to today! I've had zero ambition since my treatment Thursday so am glad to have something to look forward to.
