Taxol and Herceptin only for stage 1 HER 2 positive?
I was dx with Stage 1, grade 3, invasive ductal carcinoma, HER 2 positive, er, pr negative in January. I had a lumpectomy and removal of sentinal and two others all of which were clean. The tumor was 1.3cm and there were clean margins. My oncologist recommended treatment with either ACTH or TCH plus radiation once chemo is…

Neoadjuvant TCHP - Post Results Here
I completed my course of neoadjuvant Taxotere-Carboplatin-Herceptin-Perjeta (TCHP) at the beginning of July 2014. Since this is the first year of having this treatment option available to general breast cancer patients I thought it would be helpful if we could track outcomes. Please summarize your clinical and pathological…

Herceptin Side Effects?
Hi, all, Doing well overall, especially having finished chemo. Over a week after chemo (weekly Taxol and Herceptin), I switched to Herceptin alone (every three weeks, but they did the first Herceptin-only dose about 9 days after chemo). I was told it was nothing...a cake walk...tolerated well...practically no side effects…

HER2 positive survival and recurrence statistics
Help, I was recently diagnosed in early January and my operation is next week. I have been reading about HER2 ever since I was told I had this. Lots of great successful stories but some websites talk about how bad it is to have this. I would like to know if there is some statistical tables that show the HER2 positive…

To begin Nerlynx next month for my 4th cancer diagnosis
I will be the first patient my oncologist has on Nerlynx. I have mixed feelings about this drug as some info online says there is only a 2% increase in positive treatment results and the risk of diarrhea (so severe that hospitalization or death may result). Other side effects are similar to standards chemo side effects -…

How fast do Her2+ tumors grow?
I know that "they" say that breast cancer tumors grow slowly, but I feel like my tumor grew quite quickly , like say over months rather than years. Growth is probably related to grade , lower grade slower growing. Just wondering what others opinions are on this thought. Take care, Christine

32 year old wife ER+/PR-/HER-2+++ (share experiences pls!)
We recently discovered (mid June 2010) a lump in my 32 year old wife's right breast, and immediately followed up with ultrasound > core needle biopsy > MRI > mammogram. Long story short this all led to initial pathology of multifocal DCIS with suspicious areas of invasion, as well as multi-focal areas of calcification.…

Herceptin and muscle pain
Hello ladies Does anyone having Herceptin ever get muscle pain? I see it is buried down deep as one of the potential side-effects on the Herceptin.com website. I've been very lucky on the whole. As long as I have Piriton, an antihistamine, in the drip before Herceptin I have no side-effects. At least, that was the case…

When do most recurrences for HER2 happen
Hi Ladies, Has anyone heard that if you are HER2+ and you don't have a recurrence during the first year or two, the odds of it coming back drop dramatically? Funny thing is I had one Oncologist say that to me and then I had another say that isn't the case. The one who said that isn't the case said that Herceptin has…

HER2+ and no chemo for early stage?
Is anyone out there ER+ PR+ and HER2+ and didn't have to do chemo? When I was diagnosed with a small tumour (1.7cm), I was very confident, knew instantly i want lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and then live happily ever after for the rest of my life... it went well, till my breast surgeon (best in my country) told me…

Is Herceptin really the miracle drug it is made out to be?
I posted this in another thread but thought it would be good to start a new thread as many here are very knowledgeable as to research etc. and I would really like to understand this. Anyone continue herceptin with rash?
I'm going to my ONC tomorrow to discuss whether I will be continuing herceptin. I have had a rash and itching. I was wondering if anyone had the same symptoms that continued with the H and just dealt with rash. Just finished my 6th treatment TCH and had severe allergic reaction to C. I'm confused to how they know it is the…
