how about drinking?

Great pic Marsha! Somehow I pictured you 'older'!
Yes, I'm going to hug her and never let her go. And boys? Well, forget about that subject! I've already ordered a chastity belt!
I'm off to bed after a wonderfully intellectually (?) stimulating date! And, we agreed to do it again! He'll just have to wait until I get from Guatemala though!
Cheers!

Oh Janis, tears of happiness for you again. MONDAY! What wonderful news!
We will all be by your side on your trip to get your daughter. Giving you any support you need, but once you get her in your arms again, I am sure any anxiety will disappear.
Personally, I think you rock! Life does go on after BC, and you and Avery are living proof of it!
With Love and Hope-0 -
Janis, Need an ADDRESS so I can send my package to you & Avery.
Oh this is so exciting for you!
Congrats!0 -
Janice, "Older"? Hey that is a 45 year old woman you are looking at. And just how "stimulating" was he? Is this the same Mr. Big?
Christine, love your new picture. And I so agree with you, life after BC for Janice is so encouraging to those of us still in the middle of things.
Marsha0 -
Oops! Marsha, I meant that you're so WISE that you seemed 'older'!!! Love your avatar!
My date last night was definitely different. He seemed older than his posted age just by his writing style and now I know why - because he was born in another country! Most American men mature much later than men from other countries (or so it's been in my experience). I LOVE when I have intellectually stimulating conversations, when I can use and stretch my brain! I'm not so much physically attracted to him but definitely want to see him again. Mr. Huge is still the one I want to 'be' with.
I'm working the late shift today so I'll be back tonight as I always need a cocktail to wind down afterwards.
Cheers!

Janis,
That's GREAT news! I can't imagine how excited you must be right now! I need to go shopping soon. How long do you think you'll be in Guatemala?
Christine - love your new avitar!!
Can't wait to get out of this office today. It's been one headache after another, and I'm pretty sure I'll need a glass or two or three of wine after I get home.
Cheers,
Donna0 -
I know what you mean Donna as far as the office today. I am on the countdown and trying to decide if its a bass or guinness night. Decisons,,decisions.

Thanks girls for your kind words. It seems in the past month, my hair has been returning back to "normal" at Christmas, it was still kinda scary, maybe the hi-lights helped.
Made a great dinner of wild Salmon filets and Italian braised greens, trying to be a little healthy. Of course, some good white wine, like Julia Child, a little for the dish, a little in the glass!0 -
Janis, Avery's blanket is done and will be on the way along with some other goodies. I will be sending it out tomorrow so it should be there when you get back with Avery!
Once again Congrats!0 -
Oh Janis...your little girl is coming HOME. Do you have an official adoption date yet? The gift I am getting is personalized and I would like to put your adoption date and her full name on it. I am so SO happy for you!!! Will you be flying right back? Oh, I am SO excited for you! Being a mom is the best.
Deb C0 -
Janis...I am so very happy for you!!!
But HELP...there are some girls who don't have your address!! Could someone pm me it so we can send our baby shower gifts.
Hugs to all drinking buddies...haven't been here much, after posting in the circle I'm usually beat and head to bed. Being a bookkeeper is rough at the end and beginning of the year!!

Happy Birthday Deb!! Here's to many, many more!
Avery's adoption date is Jan 18th. That's the day her birth mother signed the papers.
I'm taking the red-eye Monday morning (2 a.m.) and we're coming back late Friday (around Midnight). We're meeting up with other families from my agency, taking a tour and also getting her ears pierced (they like to do it young down there) so it will be a busy week for sure! I just hope this deep-freeze will be over by then because that poor little girl is going to be in shock!
And her name will officially be: Avery Karen-Yolanda (insert last name).
Janis L0 -
Janis, will the post office be holding your packages til you get back? The box I sent should get there Tuesday or Wednesday.
I remeber the day I was adopted by my step dad. I was 11. It was a very special day. It showed me that I was loved by someone that had only been in my life for a year at that time. I think Avery is a very lucky girl! And you are a very special lady!
So here's a toast to a wonderful lady who is going to be a great Mom! Cheers!0 -
Janis, that is so exciting I'm so happy for you.
Keep us posted and look forward to some great pictures.

Popping in to wish you a safe, happy, rewarding and fabulous trip! Let's try to get together when you get back - I would love to meet Avery and "talk the walk" (in a smoke filled, greasy/fried food, sports bar, of course! OMG LOL) !
Go Bears!

Janis...have a safe, joy filled, beautiful trip to pick up our wonderful new daughter. I can't express how happy I am for you! Thanks for the address as Vera (evilelf)wrote me that she needed it but is out doing manuevers and can't get time to log in.
Hugs to the new mommy and Avery Karen-Yolanda!!!

Thanks Ladies! My neighbor will collect my mail (as I forget to stop it) so no problem there. I'm tired from the craziness of work the past two days and since it's been below zero the store was very cold and that's taken a toll on me, too, so I'm worn out. I was worried about not being able to sleep on the plane tonight but I'm sure I'll konk out. The foster mother will bring Avery to my hotel in the afternoon so I'll have some time to go to the grocery store to get a few food items for the week before she gets there. I'll report back next weekend.
Cheers!

Janis:
I don't think I've posted on this thread before - but not because I don't enjoy my glass of wine (or two). I just had to tell you how happy I am for you and you're little sweet Avery!!!! I can just imagine your joy and happiness. I would love to send you a little something for you new little one. So, Janis, when you get back, if you could PM me your name/address etc., that would be great.
God bless,

Where are the drinking gals? I know Janis is picking up her daughter, Shel is laying low... Anyone else with a good excuse?
Just checking in, see you all soon.0 -
i quit drinking during chemo for four horrendous months. now i figure i have to make up for lost time. I was way afraid that i would lose my taste for it like i did for dairy products (used to love my ruffles and onion dip and now cannot even consider stomaching sour cream. it's a sad thing). Jack Handy is so right. i am trying not to be a selfish person any more, so i guess i'll continue to drink my wine and feel good about it.

Hey ladies, I'm here don't have anything to drink but could really use a stiff one right about now. NS just gave us the news she's fighting the battle again! It's a new primary, better than a reoccurance but still not what anyone wants to hear.
Janis will be home soon with that bundle of joy, can't wait to see new pics. I bet she's grwon a ton!0 -
I had my first chemo yeesterday and was told to drink lots of water to keep my kidneys clear. Felt great so went ahead and had a couple of beers with my friends last night cause God knows that beer makes me pee! I know I will eventually lose the taste so thought I better have 2 before that happends! Cheers, Marsha

Hugs all

Hi Gals.
Anyone remember me there are so many new names and faces,I wish I had gotten the chance to meet you'all.A little update on my.I have a repeat ct in 3 weeks after this cycle of chemo and if it is still shrinking to the point to where I can have another RFA,thats the route we are going to go.Last ct I had was in Dec and it showed 5 small lesions in my liver,a far cry from august 10-12 when I thought I was a goner again.I will be on maintaince of avisita or herceptin for the rest of my life it looks like, but as long as I dont have to have the chemo to go with it i can handle that.
Thank all of you for the kind words and cards you sent when I was in the hospital in novemeber. You gals mean the world to me.0 -
Hey Robin, Good to see you posting. Don't forget to stop by the Wagon Circle. There's a PJ's, Hug & Drugs party going on there! I'll take the first two and a tall drink.
I continue to pray that things all all fronts improve for you!
Janis are you home yet? Bet Avery is keeping you pretty busy already!
Hey where is everyboady?0
