Hi Drinking Gals and Mommies too! My computer was down all last weekend, but I am now catching up, missed you all. I wish I was able to be at the luncheon/shower. Janis, I want to send a gift, pm me your address or let me know where I can get the info on your name/baby register, is it Babies-R-Us? Avery is just beautiful and yes you look so happy.
Loving this meltdown weather, 6 degrees last week, 60 degrees this week- Woo Hoo. My tulips and crocus are popping out.0 -
OMG how do you spell cute???? A-V-E-R-Y! That is one cutie pie of a little girl. Better watch out Janis, she's gonna be a heartbreaker! I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone with a smile as big as yours. Enjoy that sweet daughter, you deserve this! Marsha

I'll try to make it. How fun!0 -
Hi Vickie, I got the package today (my mailman is SO nice, if not a bit weird!) and the cow teether is so cute! The outfit and pajamas are big but she'll grow into them and the scarf/boa thing is very adorable! Thanks! Now, who sent the toilet lock? Thanks! Avery loves to stand and will be getting into everything before too long!
Tonight I'm finishing up a French red blend I opened the other night.
Cheers!

Yeah Janis...I'm glad they weren't too small...it's amazing how tiny the outfits look...Nathaniel picked out the cow teether and my niece made the scarf...she's 13 and says every girl needs a boa scarf!??! You are very welcome.
Hugs and cheers all around
Vickie0 -
Oh, it's hand-made! How special! I'm glad you told me that as I'll make sure Avery knows, too!0
-
Janis- really how can I send a gift? I am so happy (and somewhat envious) I have your gifts now, but need to send it. God bless you and sweet Avery, oh and good luck with your job search. My thoughts are with you. On March 3, I will meet some ol' friends that have moved to Dallas, they have two new Guatamalen babies, I am so excited for them, but have kept more in contact with you over the past year, and am more excited for you and Avery. A new family is born!

Janis - I am the one who sent the "toilet lock" You are the one that registered for it at Babies R Us!!! I thought that was a cleaver new gadget as I know how many times I retrieved toys out of the toilet when my kids were little. It is tax season and I don't have much time for myself so thought ordering online would be much faster, and they shipped it directly to you!!
Avery is so beautiful - have a wonderful life raising her!!!0 -
Thanks Sam! I just couldn't tell by the name on the order slip/receipt who that person was here! I'll be attaching that lock very soon!
Janis L0 -
Ha- that is funny Janis, I met Sam91 in Vegas, and her screen name threw me. Hi Sam!
0 -
Hi Christine - love your new pic. You now look like the person I met in Vegas - love the curls!!! I have always used my dogs name for passwords, etc on line.
I have a bit of a headache this morning - took our boys out for dinner for the youngest birthday and had a few too many perfect margarita's - my baby is 24!!! How that makes me feel so old. Have a great weekend everyone - I need to get back to taxes - yuk!!!0 -
Sam91, I hope you're feeling better? Gosh, when Avery is 24 I'll be ! I won't need anything to drink as my mind will probably be gone all on its own!
I had to post that AlaskaDeb sent Avery a blanket with her name and adoption date (the date her birth mother signed the papers) on it. How nice! The little girl is currently wrapped up in it while she's trying to poop! She grunts and her face gets all red. She's too cute! Am I a mean mommy for making fun of my child?
Well, cheers! I'll catch ya'll later!
Janis L0 -
No Janis you're not a mean mommy. There will be lots of things that you will laugh at and some you'll have to turn away from her to laugh at cause you'll be trying to scold ehr but it'll be just too darn funny not to laugh, but you can't let her see that or she'll just keep doing it.
I rememer when my granddaughter Claira was doing something she shouldn't and Poppie, (my hubby) was scolding her. she looked up at him with the most pitiful look and said "I'm sorry Poppie, but I have just have to do it". we knew right then and there that our daughter was in trouble!0 -
Janis, got the card and you are very wlcome. it was my pleasure to make it for her.

Janis, a suggestion about all those times to come that you will have to turn away: keep your camera at the ready!!
One of the cutest pics I've seen of a kid was one when the wee one had pulled ALL the toilet paper off the new roll and was sitting in the middle of a cloud of the stuff with the sweetiest look on his face! Priceless! The mom had an 11x14 of it in her hallway. She did black and white photography as a hobby.
Oh, another suggestion: get a recorder for her sounds that she makes now---you will treasure the coos and jabbers in years to come. Honest! My mom loved having those when when I sent them from Korea.0 -
Hi girls anyone up having a sip?? this week has been sooo emotional, I got NED on monday and was told 2 hrs later my nana would not live the night, same day my brother and SIL (if youve been following the worst thing someone said to you) had a baby, love to see the baby but SIL dont think so!!! having a champas tonight, had a btl of moet on my NED day! Janis, just wanted to mention that it is NOT mean to make fun of our children. For Teryn, she would decide to poop in CHURCH every Sunday. Everyone would be listening to the speaker and then all of a sudden you'd hear a really loud GRUNT and it was from this tiny baby. People would laugh, even the speaker would chuckle.
One time, she was grunting and someone said in a loud whisper, "What is that?" And one of the elder's wives giggled, "It's Teryn" ....... and Teryn was sitting on her lap. I was sitting in one of the back rows and just put my head down and laughed.0 -
Congrats YowYow, Sorry your SIL has no clue. Also sorry about your Nana.
We seem to lose someone in our family about the time that we have a new baby in the family. It's hard but in some ways we think of it as one making room for the other.
At any rate Cheers to your dance with NED!0 -
Janis, I couldn't agree more about having both a camera and a recorder. A child laughter and noise are the best sounds in the world. and with digital cameras it's so easy to do pics now.

Yes, I have a cam corder and I'm going to use what I've recorded when she gets older.....
No drinking tonight as I'm having 'company' when Avery goes to sleep! She's been crashing out early the past few nights so hopefully she will again tonight. We've been playing a lot today and watching a new Baby Einstein DVD so hopefully she will be tired from all the activity!
Oh, Mamma's gonna get some!
Cheers Ladies! Catch ya'll tomorrow night!

Oh, I've been out of sorts this week. I'm still around though!0

Hi Buds~
How is everyone?
I've had the work week from hell. March 1st is my deadline for about 20 different reports to 4 different states' Depts of Insurance. And since we were acquired by UnitedHealth, all my old resources are gone so I'm on a constant goose chase.
I know - you're all jealous that I have such a glamorous job.
SO glad to be sipping a Shiraz from Down Under. Not bad.
So Janis - what happened to Big (Huge) and the other men? Has Avery taken their places? She's probably more pleasant to be around even if she IS pooping!
I would love to get together with my Buds from this thread. Maybe we could plan a "What About Drinking" meet & greet. I mean - it's a shame that we've had so many drinks together, but have never met. (or least most of us).
I can't WAIT for spring! Although the ex left the yard in as big a mess as he did the inside of the house. I'm ready to start cleaning up so I can play in the dirt later!
Think I'll turn in early tonight. Another busy day at work tomorrow to finish all the stuff I was supposed to get done today!
Cheers,
Donna0 -
Hey Donna- gald we all have not quit this thread. Having a Chard, to go w/ my Seafood Enchiladas? I guess that is as good as reason as any. LOL
I have been thinking about going to the Circle Girls get-together in Aug (first week-end) in NY (near Buffalo) I think Shel is going with Tgirl and many others. Some camping, others at Hotels and it sounds like many SOs or DHs, but I would go alone, any interest from this thread? Check out the the circle girl forum "PINKSTOCK" It sounds fun!
Janis- your pkg has not made it to the PO yet, sorry. I have new tenants moving in my building this week and feel like I am working on "This Old House" LOL
Love and cheers to all- Hugs to Avery!0 -
Oh and besides the Ischau, NY trip, I always Chicago would be a good meeting place. Lots of girls from the area. I can be there in a flash and lots of flights heading there.
Just an idea. (or Vegas in Nov was fun last yr, w/ Junie, Sam91 and others)0 -
Would love to see all of you at Pickstock!
Some are going a few days earlier so we can visit Niagara Falls while we're there!
I work at a box plant and we make a lot of wine boxes! Been getting a lot of orders for the Alice White wines this last week! Most of our boxes are for wines from Washington, Oregon and California
Those of you in the path of this wild weather be careful.
Janis, what's up??? Sorry you've been out of sorts. what can we do to help turn things around?
Cheers, hugs and prayers0
