Good morning lovelies, DH decided he wanted to come home. We went down to the casino yesterday morning to play for a bit, before going to see a movie. Only there for about 10 minutes and says this isn't fun anymore (we weren't winning) lets go home!!!! We went away to relax and have fun, this moring he comes over to me about 5:30 am and says, "well, guess I better get my shorts on and get to work". I'm thinking to myself, you are the one that wanted to come home, you get NO sympathy from me!!!! We did go to the movies the day before, Cami and Lara, I thought of you. We saw the The Conjuring (the new Exorcist) it was a good movie, but not the kind of movie I like to go see, so for that reason, I didn't like it.
Spent a lot of time reading to catch up, so not replying to everyone.
Lara, I hope you can get your pain under control but still can enjoy your vay cay.
Becks, did Annie tell you about her eye? And sorry you hurt yourself lifting a patient.
Cami, any word from Adey? Hoping you are feeling up to the fireworks and I hope someone posts more pictures!!!

Kathy, CTCA gets you plane tickets for your trips to and from home, or the pay you gas mileage. They also have rooms at their facilities for the patients. But hopefully the team your DD is meeting with tomorrow will have some answers. And so sorry to hear about your other DD, my gosh. How was this found out? I hope she is listening and not doing anything.
Funny story about my DH, he had to wear one of those heart monitors too. Well one morning while wearing it, well we had some boom chickie, well when he went to have the tapes read, they asked him if he was feeling ok that morning......LOL! I guess his heart rate had jumped, and we never thought about that happening. We both looked at each other and chuckled, and he just said, "no, felt fine".
Time to go fill my hummingbird feeders as they are all empty and they are buzzing around like crazy!

LOL Lori, about making his heart monitor go crazeeeee! And sawwwwy about not winning, but YOU GO GIRL about not feeling any sympathy for him when he decided to start working again. I was wondering about that movie, hope it won't give you nightmares. Yeah, the Cancer Centers sound great, but she is not able to travel far anymore, with panic attacks. Plus she would not want to be away from her kids, so that is out of the question. Even just going 2+ hrs away for other opinions, is about as much as she can do. BUT they are going down today, a day early, to have some fun at the mall with the Lego shop, etc. Thanks, though. My other DD has had problems for a long time, and went to a dr, and to PT, but was getting worse....so finally had an MRI last week and her dr called her the night he had results as he was quite concerned about her. Yes, she is listening, doesn't like not being able to be active, but she is a good patient. Bet your Hummies are very glad to see you!!!! We put our feeder up too late I think....they like the Lantana, but have not gone to the feeder yet. They might be eating the figs though! WELCOME BACK WE MISSED YA!!!!

Good morning, Loungettes! When I came out of my air conditioned bedroom this ayem I walked into a house that was cooler than the bedroom! Temps down in the high 60's, humidity down from 80%+ to 56%. Much, much nicer, even Sadie is more energetic today.
Wahine--OUCH! The doc in the ER didn't react to the blood pressure cause they see them all the time. Pain, anxiety about being in the ER both can make the blood pressure go up for a while. It's hard to make sure she takes her blood pressure pills, isn't it? Most of the time my Mom is symptomless from the a-fib except for taking the coumadin and getting a blood test every few months. When it does act up she feels so bad that she goes to the ER. So far that's only happened 3 times since she was diagnosed back in the early 1990's. But she does feel like she is dying when it happens. And you can alternate the DOTD with anything you want, I was just trying to make sure we all get through the heat without getting dehydrated. BUT, alternating with Long Island Iced Tea would definitely make getting through the heat wave FUN!
Now that is a GREAT addition to the HTL!!! Love the lounging pillows. And the view!

Becs--I've got the Weather Channel App on my desktop and my iPod. Whenever there's a severe storm warning posted it makes a noise. Right now it thunders when a new alert is posted. It's a little disconcerting to be listening to an audiobook while watching the thunderheads role in and hear a peal of thunder out of nowhere!

Well u guys know what's happening to me so I'm dreading yet curious about wht happening this week--I hope My Dr. can figure out what the hell is going on and fix it (I pray) Oh what a time we're having. As usual my sister called and 1,000 questions like I predicted and she gets so upset with me cuz I don't ask, but u know sometimes u get tongue tide when they're giving u news u don't want to hear and they don't understand themselves, but my sweet sister just kept on and on about getting answers and changing Drs. and all sorts of things and finally I couldn't talk about it any longer, we immediately changed subjects and started laughing about something else--she;s as goofy as they come.Thank God

1 oz vodka
½ oz light rum
½ oz Galliano
4 oz orange juice
Combine the vodka, rum and orange juice into an old fashioned glass filled with ice and stir well. Pour the Galliano over the back of a teaspoon into the old fashioned glass so that the Galliano floats on top

I didn’t think your DD would be able to do the traveling, and there are good cancer centers and other good doctors at other facilities. Although CTCA is really great, not everyone can go there. Hoping for good news for her today, praying very hard! Please let us know asap. Funny Cheech/Chong……..glazed donuts, LOL!
Cami, you too, I wish you could get answers. Praying for you as well love. What day is your appt.? If you have questions or concerns and you think you will forget, why not write them down. And yes, the weekends go by WAY TOO FAST!

NM, Yummm......ya know that dwink is like a Harvey Wallbanger, but with added rum. I used to drink those a lot "in the day", thought it sounded slightly familiar. Julie, Hope you get a REAL nursing job again. I know the giftshop has been a good diversion, but I think Lori said it right earlier, that you BELONG in nursing (or someone else said dat?), but its TRUE. You and NM are both such caring nurses, and we surely need more nurses like you both. And Becks too, don't you work in the nursing field Becks? I just went to LPN school so I could get full army pay when I was a single mom and in the National Guard...was a Field Medic and already had the army training. Never did like regular nursing, it wasn't for me, but I needed the pay! BUT after half of the LPN training, army pay at a low level was not much, so I had to work as a dinner/cocktail waitress at a very upscale restaurant and THAT was much better money but ended up getting very sick working that much with a baby and toddler also, so just kept the waitress job! It was good ,money. SO I do applaud all of you in the nursing profession, it is VERY HARD both physically and emotionally, and you are all so dedicated!!!
Was lying in bed praying for my DD's appts today, and then DH's heart drs office calls and he already has had some episodes that showed up on the monitor (NO not the chicky boom boom episodes....lol at what Lori said and what Julie said). So not sure yet if he has to go in, or if they will change some meds. Rainy day here, good day to stay INSIDE....but who knows what today will bring. HOPING it will be good for all of you. And Cami, how bout if we all get there on the UFO, teeeny tiny and go with you today (in case today is your appt)? Can bwing lots of Monkey Monday Dwinks and we will have a real excuse for acting silly like monkeys! DO LET US KNOW what the drs say, ok?????

Its going to be HOT today..near tripl digits!!! Its already 75 and only 8:30!!! Wanted to hang out with my girlfriend early today, but plans had to change as I got asked to speak at a fundraiser for Komen, couldn't say no, so need to call gf and tell her I'm coming mid afternoon. She has an above ground pool and it should feel good to soak and maybe have a glass or 2!!!!

Hi gals---Kat my prayers are with u'r DD today--we have to know as soon as u know please-I'm so glad u know so much about things so u can help with the Drs. and questions--and what's going on with u;r DH this morning--they just called?? Kat (((HUGS))) for u completely--to much is going on please if u have any anxiery or something take them or just drink--anything for some unwinding.
And BTW where have u been I am the most complaining person on here. u silly goose. I see my Onc Wed and living on pain meds right now--I just get confused so easiy what the hell could be pushing my liver into my ribs? It actually sounds like something made up to me, I think they like pkaying around sometimes. Cuz I swear there is a petrified being living in my stomach it's so big. but they just look at me--well when they do talk to me they do speak slowly, I think they think I have a slow brain cuz I say so many goofy things. It's kind of funny when u hear them. I let them so maybe I can understand. I havd to go to the hospital tomorrow and I'll get my results for this las test--hahaha like I can understand all their goofy talk, but I do understand certain words so I'll figure it out.
Enough about me--see when I talk it's like a lot of nothing said.
Lori u are really working hard aren't u. And coming out even is like winning to me.
Julie please make sure u are all right to go back to work--u have a lot of lifting and movement--I know u'r anxious but still take it easy. For u to be hurt all this time means something.
And I hope NM comes home at a good time so she can relax some with Sadie she so desweves it.

Oh yeah, I have had SO many diff professions.....I get bored once I learn something, so always liked to change jobs. Let me see....I was trained to sell new cars, trained as a stockbroker w/ Merrill Lynch, as a Field Medic, as half a nurse, as an upholsterer, as a dinner and cocktail waitress, as a counter-waitress (when 16), as a custom decorator (both with JCp and Sears), as a sales rep for Napier, Oneida, and Nestle, oh and of course I am a trained killer since I went thru all my National Guard training (we had regular Army boot camp and trained on M-16's as well as grenades, and tow-missles(sp?). My DH always says I have done everything except for brain surgery....but then he doesn't know everything, does he???? lol

Kat u are an amazing woman--so much training and as a killer too I'm laughing so hard right now. hahaha-u'r so funny. All I was really trained for eside a waitress and a bartender was working for the government which u all know--that's why my brain drizzled to almost nothing and my typing was considered so acceptable--that's why I'm goofy--work for a bunch and different politicians for years and u turn into a blob of knowing nothing.
OK I did call Adey on her cell phone and no answer, so I left a message of course---Geeze I pray everything is OK. Usually cell phones are answered (in my mind) I don't know.
