Oh, hell, I'm not leaving!!! I'm just not going to post what is going on in my life - as much. Gotta be careful around here I guess. I don't need some holier-than-thou implying that I'm a bad mother/person because ya never know about those zealots!

    Cheers!!!

    Hey Drinkin' Buds~

WTF? This is OUR space, and if someone doesn't like it, there are only about 1,000 other topics on the boards to go to.

Makes me want to drink! Think I'll go open a bottle of Dancing Bull Shiraz.

Janis - sorry you won't be posting here as often. I hope you are at least enjoying a glass of wine, therefore joining us in spirit.

    Cheers,

OK - BFF's were are all here for each other. If any of us thought there may be a problem w. Janis taking care of Avery, we would have loved her enough to step in and say something.
Janis is gonna love this lil' girl forever and put her first in her life, We all know that.
When she has time to herself, she will use it as needed.
But, I shouldn't have to say she has new priorties and loves right now. She will be an awesome Mom to Avery and I hope I get to see how their lifes grow together!

yowyow--one of my favorite wines is an Australian--Yellow Tail. The Merlot is very good, and lord knows, I can drink the whole bottle by myself in one night! Huggssssss

OK Junie- I do believe a bottle of wine, by yourself, is not that much. In real glasses about 5 (MAX) big glasses only about 3.75. Sometimes, I think how can a bottle be gone so fast? By the big bottles (I think, 1.75 L.- the small ones are .750L) and it lasts longer, more glasses- LOL!

Hi all, Junie, Yellow Tail that is a very nice drop!!! I am more a white girl myself but DH loves a nice smooth merlot.

It would be nothing for my husband and I to drink a bottle each (or more Shhhhhh)

Am having problems at the moment, I am/was (3 days ago) a
smoker and as smokers know drinking and a cig after dinner is total bliss. So don't think I can have a drink tonight
its (5.42pm thursday) cause I will break down and smoke.

Is it right to stop these two things at the same time. I am an expert at giving up smoking I do it so often.
Have given up at lease 40 times since dx, then stress out and have a drink then smoke.

    GRRRRRR

You are correct most people drinking and smoking go hand in hand so it's hard for them to quit one and not the other. Best of luck with quitting. One day at a time.

'Mornin' Ladies! Yep, up again at 6 (good thing I'm not drinking! ).

I have a date tonight with a totally HOT man!!! My mother will be watching Avery for a few hours and that's almost worse than her being left alone but she adores her new granddaughter so I'll let her and we'll all be happy in the end. So, no drinking tonight but I might be doing something else! (nothing I will admit to here in print)

    Cheers my friends!

Wow, I miss out on this thread a few days and the revival tent must have gotten set up in my absence. Geesh! I just dont get it,,why? why? why? I did appreciate the chart though and decided its not a good thing to lose weight because then you cant drink as much.

I will second the bottle of wine being nothing comment. Yes to sum a glass would put them over the edge but to some it will not. Its called tolerance level,,lol and I have worked hard to build mine up. You all drink your bottle of wine and I will order another pitcher of beer and we will have a grand ol time.

Hey Drinkin buds - I'm off to play Bunko and have a few drinks. I don't usually play but I'm being a sub tonight. Have a great evening.

Junie & Christine - you can have all the wine - I don't do well with it. I'll stick to my Mich Ultra or margarita's.

Janis - have a great date with that HOT man!!!

Kids are out of the house tonight. Dinner and wine at home just me and my hubby. Love it!! Maybe I should just have a sip not a glass or two. I've lost 15 lbs. Maybe I won't be able to handle it. I've always been a cheap date. Two drinks and I'm under the table, or maybe on top. Not like my skinny friends with high tolerance levels. They can drink and drink and still be fine. What's up with that?? No fair.

    Janis - Have fun!!

Sam- Love girls night out and bunco. Hope you win.

    Cheers to all!!!

......aahhhhhhh, I feel a refreshing breeze in this thread! We've had our deck rebuilt on back of our house and shopped for furniture today. One of the pieces we bought was an outdoor BAR with barstools. I got so tickled thinking about you all and how much you would appreciate the irony! DH had no idea why I was so happy with the bar since he thought that was his idea! Had a very good day--and will now have lots of seating space when you all come visit me!!!

Janis - Do tell how was the hot date?

I keep forgetting to buy Vick's or tea tree oil. Maybe because I've usually been drinking when I read about it here

But, I'm posting from work today, so hopefully I'll remember to stop and pick some up on the way home, that way I can stop the Lamisil and drink more!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Way too late to posting as usual, on a Fri night. Working late.
Junie, I would love to be sitting at your new bar and visiting your "neck of the woods" but right now it is time for sleep. I am glad you visit this thread, you know we call it the "funnest" thread here. Do check out the circle girls, I'm loving it there and may be meeting up with lots of them near Buffalo NY in Aug, also a side trip to the Falls.

    Christine,

Your gifts for Avery came the other day! The sailor outfit (think Shirley Temple) is way cute and the 'giggling' hippo is adorable. I haven't played the Kenny Loggins CD yet but as I know he has an awesome voice I'm sure it is excellent!

One more week and then I'm back to work - ugh!

For some odd reason both of my dates fell though this past week. Oh well, no 'goodies' for mommy! Maybe this week?

Anyway, I've been enjoying my daughter and also enjoying life and really enjoying the Spring-like weather we've finally gotten here!

    Cheers!

I buy that cd for everyone I know w/ a baby. Yours had a cracked case and I told them it looked used, it was the last one and they gave me a new case. When my older (9&11) nieces & nephews were infants I always sang them the Return to Pooh song, Now my fav for the younger set of nieces & nephews is Rainbow Connection. Sarah McLachlin, does it so well, but I couldn't find her CD, it is on Itunes. happy singing and teaching Avery about music.

Wow I havn't had a drink in years but after reading here I think I finally found my cure for insomnia. Besides nothing else has worked, might as well try being an alcoholic.....lol
BTW I hate when people holier than thou tell others what they should or shouldn't do then behind closed doors are worse than any of us. Glad to see you're staying with the thread Janis and congrats on Avery. Your new alcoholic friend Angel!

Christine, Janis - I had forgotten all about the Kenny Loggins CD. I used to buy that for every baby gift, but it has been so long since I'd bought a baby gift that I forgot all about it. It's a good one!. Good thing I didn't remember because then there'd be two.

Angel - Welcome! Christine is usually posting late at night and looking for somebody with insomnia.

b445 - Did too have 15 to lose, still would like to lose at least 10 more, but doc says only 5 more. I guess they like to keep us with a little meat on the bones. When I had my pre-op for my bilat. in Feb. 06 I was described as "obese 48 year old woman", that was my motivation. Chubby, chunky, pleasantly plump, BUT OBESE. Nope, I think not.

Thanks for the congrats. Donna. I waited until after my expanders were in and filled because I wanted to see if they'd be okay chubby, as well as, not so chubby. I'm losing it now and hoping that it doesn't creep back on when the inevitable ovarian shut down begins. I'm hoping that the weight stays off. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of all my big clothes. One can always hope.

    Cheers to all!

Yes late at night for me, but only when I work late on Tues and Fri (after 12midnight) Welcome all night owls, unless, everyone has had a lil' much and went to bed (passed out) early! lol
