    Hi Buds~

Anne - isn't it frustrating? Protect your heart but get bc...WTF?  A year from now we'll be hearing something different.  And if I had heard this years ago it wouldn't have made a difference.  It's not going to make a difference now, either.

I guess sis won't be buying the castle after all.  They're asking $1M, which I knew it would be expensive.  After all, it IS a castle.  Sis for some reason didn't think it would be that much.....so much for me being the Queen of Quite-A-Lot.  Oh well.

    Everyone have a fabulastic weekend!

    Cheers,

    Donna

    CG,

You can still be Queen of Quite-A-Lot, just not Queen of a $1M Castle! :-/

I have no real plans for this weekend other than working on Saturday, football on Sunday, maybe some yardwork and a date with a young man Sunday night. Oh, and playing with Baby Girl of course! Cheers to all!

Sweet Cy- Hope you are feeling better by now.

This is my dedication to all my great friends here, it is my 3 yr dx anniv and so far, so good, so I am still singing....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpA3PH4ilIo

This song was sung by a local artist at the Komen RFTC right after I finished chemo, so making it through the rain, had such great meaning for me. Especially the line " I made it through the rain and somehow felt protected, by the others who got rained on too.." all of you!

    Thanks for being there.

Oh and cheers, no matter what the latest studies say. I guess we pick our poisons.

    Love to ya'll

    Hello my friends~

Christine - Happy Cancerversary to you too!  Tell us about the car!  I'll have to ask BF what he's getting me for my 3-yr Cancerversary Laughing

CY - hope your port probs are coming to an end.  Can't a girl get a break for God's sake?  You rest and take care of yourself.

Janis - what is little Avery going to be for Halloween?

Hope everyone has a good weekend. (I act like it's already here)  I have no plans, which is fine by me.  Had a GREAt one last weekend.  BF surprised me with a POSH hotel room, or should I say suite.  It's a standing joke with us, 'cause he's a Motel 6 kind of guy and let's just say...I'm not!  So I did get to be Queen of Quite-A-Lot just not in a castle.

    Cheers,

    Donna

Anywho - it's TGIF eve...have a good one my friends.

Yep, the "change" around here is evident with the lack of posts! No one here drinks anymore????? Ha! :)

My life is boring: job hunting and work, with smatterings of highlights (namely Avery).

I wish this place were the same but it isn't and I think many here will just fall away, if they haven't already. For those who do go I wish you well! I try to keep up but just don't feel like posting most days as I don't find this new set-up user friendly and I just cannot spend the time hunting for what I'm looking for.

Yes, I'm still drinking (like BC was gonna change that???) but have settled into my role of being a mother, and what a mother I am! :o

Avery just gets more fun as the days go by and I so look forward to each and every phase of her life, the terrible two's, three's, and everything else. She is truly a joy to my heart. Thanks for letting me share and I will definitely tell her all about the gifts all of you sent!

So, cyber sisters, I wish you all cheers and better days ahead. I am on 'vacation' for the next 9 days and plan to do housework and yardwork and play with my daughter as much as possible. Oh, and I'm going to try to get some dates, too! ;)

Well, all, and dear Anne, I read about the drinking as I was toasting my 5 year celebration with a tall Long Island Iced Tea.  My second of a few as a matter of fact!

I decided a while back, after I read about the french fries, that until I read that they had absolutely found the reason and the CURE for bc, I was going to believe nothing they had to say.  I would continue my evil ways and do as I damn well pleased.  I just wouldn't go back to Premarin.  Or a few other obvious things harmful things.

They seem to change their minds too frequently and make too many mistakes, or is it the media that make the mistakes??  hard to say.

I'm just enjoying the fall of the year and planning on taking some time to get ready to take on some docs to want to do bad things to me.   I just have to decide it I'll let them.  I'll have another glass of wine on than and then maybe I can sleep, it'll be the first time in a few days.

If we did nothing that was "bad" for us then we'd have no fun! I say everything in moderation!

Yes it has been quites on here since the changes. i hope it picks up as the dust settles down.

Still not sure this thread belongs in humor but who am I to say.

Avery, you take care of your sweet Mommy!

    Hey buds~

I agree - moderation is the key!  How boring would life be if we never had anything allegedly "bad" for us?

BF is practically on his death bed with the flu.  Seems very early for that. I've kept my distance and stayed home all weekend so not as to expose myself to it.  And although I miss him, it's been nice hanging out at my house all weekend by myself!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The flu bug is out early this year! But don't forget the Flu Shot they give at this time of year is for the flu that comes out in the spring! It's usually worse than the Fall Flu!

Donna keep your distance and stay warm and toasty!

Back again... can never stay away from ya'll for too long. I would be happy to sit and chat all day, but life goes on and gets the best of us (or at least of our energy and motivation)

I once again ran out of effexor and did not pick it up for two days, it was right before my "cancerversary" and Lisa (Funky Winkerbean) died that day and so many other things had me feeling Cry I know know if my rx is due, get it filled, although I take it for hot flashes, it does a number on my emotions.

Donna- hope the big dentist is feeling better. Mark sold me my new toy, it's old and for Sunday driving. '97 Sebring Conv White on White with Grey Leather, only 81K miles, so I'll be able to sell it for the same if not more, when I'm done playing as along as I take care of it. My real car is old too,99 Mazda with only 51K miles, I need to drive more...Chicago, OK, AR and Kansas and all my friends are so close, time for a Fall road trip.

I am meeting KariLynn and DH tomorrow for coffee and breakfast, can't wait!

Janis- looking for some pics. Today, next to me in church, there was a mom, I suspected to be single and she probably was (no ring) she had the two sweetest little girls, obvioulsly adopted from a S Amer Country. One was about 5 yo and the lil one was about 1yo, they were gorgeous and so well behaved. The other family in front of me had a "wild child" youngest of 3 girls. I thought about you and how Avery would grow up with you as a mom...you are both so lucky. I think of the two of you so often, with admiration.

Junie- where are the baby pics? Did I miss them. Please come visit them and me... soon. The bar at our restaurant or my house is always open. We do not sell ML, but I'll get some for you (you know Anhueser-Busch city)

CY- hugs to you and Scott. You two are so great. I hope you are moving forward and feeling better.

Dotti- I don't know what to say about Fall, except it was 90 degrees here today. Dont'cha just love Global Warming- we can swim in Oct!

Off to a good nite's sleep sweet chicas- bbs

Congrats Christine on your cancerversary!!!  Would love to see you come to KS in that new convertible!!!  Janice, enjoy your vacation.  I'm taking a short one next month - going to Vegas again and meeting up with Junie, hopefully.  I think she went AWOL.  Cy, thanks for your insight!! and Donna stay clear of that BF - nothing worse than pucking without even drinking first!!

I am so tired of bridal showers, baby showers and weddings!!  Just got back from a wild weekend with all my family.  My nephew got married Sat.  He has the same name as my Dad and got married on what would have been my parents 57th anniversary.  When my mother passed last year we found her wedding dress, which by the way is a rust color, anyway I tried it on and it fit perfectly so I thought to honor them I would wear it to my nephews wedding. It was such an overwhelming feeling to wear it on their day.  I have 5 siblings and out of the girls I was the only one it would fit.  For a dress that is 57 years old it actually was very stylish.

We didn't float as many kegs that night as we did at my sons wedding last month, but everyone had plenty and some had more than they should have.

If any of you like red beer, have you tried the new Budlight with clamato already in it???  I think its the best thing since sliced bread!!!!   No more mixing.  Try it - you might like it.  It does only come in 16 oz but I can handle that.

Hello to everyone and big HUGS!!!   Sam, I'm not AWOL!!!!   Friggin' computer was in the "hospital" for a few days.....it is on its last leg so hubby has spent the day ordering us new and improved equipment.   So, we'll limp along with this old thing for a bit, and I'll pop in and out when I can.......and, will most definitely be seeing you in Vegas--can't wait--sure wish everyone would come and join us!   I'll have to look for the beer you mentioned--I know lots of folks who like their tomatobeer the following morning!!!!

Christine--sounds like a cool car and it's ready for a fall road trip to Arkie land--we're not that far away!  And, pretty sure we'll be up your way again in the very near future!   If I knew how, I'd post a pic of our lovely new lady, but I am too challenged to attempt it--it's all I can do now, to get this old relic to run for a few minutes without crashing!!!!

ok--now, gotta go and read back through some recent posts to see what all I've missed!..........bar's open!!!!!!           later....junie

    Hey Buds~

Christine - the convertible sounds SO fun!  Especially when it's so nice out like today, makes me wish I had a convertible!

Sam - I do like red beer and will look for the Bud Light with Clamato.  I'll bet you ARE tired of weddings and showers.  But at least there's cake and beer Laughing

CY - Are you staying warm and toasty?  It finally feels like fall here and I'm loving it!

Janis - are you AWOL?  What are you and Avery going to be for Halloween?  I'm going to be a pirate.  ARRGGH!  I don't even have kids, but still like to act like one every chance I get!

Taking a long weekend, Fri and Mon off trying to use up all my vaca time, as we now "use it or lose it" and I'll be damned if I'm leaving any on the table!

This cooler weather makes me want to drink something different, but not sure what.  Maybe I'll stop in at the licka sto on my way home and just browse....

    Cheers!

Wow - I just notices that when you click on a thread it takes you to the last post! YEA!!!

I've been here, just don't post often as I still don't like this format. The grey has GOT to go! I did post a few days ago but it didn't take and I didn't feel like re-typing it. :-/

I'm not dressing up and I'm not dressing up Avery. I suppose I could find something here and make costumes (ha - I'm as crafty and imaginative as rock) but I'm not that motivated and I won't spend money on store bought stuff so I guess we're both just going to be ourselves! My choice for 'candy' was raisins - that way whatever I have leftover (I don't like raisins) can go into the bird feeders. :)

Miss Avery has another ear infection. I so hope she outgrows them because I do not want to have tubes put in her ears!

CG, I'm sure you'l make an excellent pirate! Arrrgggghhhhh! ;)

woo-hoo!!! first part of new computer equipment delivered today--lots more to come--DHL, Fed-Ex, mail, UPS--whatever--hopefully, it will all be here in a few weeks.   Sometimes, it sucks living in the boonies!!!

Casino Girl--heading over to Grove, OK, tomorrow for a birthday party--theme is Oktoberfest--should be a fun, rowdy time!

Janis--sorry that Miss A. has an ear infection.   Hope it clears up soon--those are not fun to deal with.

Sam--bring extra $$$ to Vegas--I may need to borrow!!  LOL!!!

I have a love/hate relationship with Halloween!   It is hubby's birthday--so, we usually have an adult party going on....I usually dress up as something for the trick-or-treaters.....and, I'm like the only adult in the group who looks stupid!   We live in a mostly retirement community with few kids, but the town folk drive their kids out here because they think these rich old farts (HA!!!!) have lots of goodies for their kids.   Anyway, I do have fun with that.   I decorate the front door area with some cool metal pumpkins and always have lots of treats to give out.   We have a new doorbell that plays 65 dif songs--so, can't wait to put on spooky music!   I also have a goofy motion-activated pot of fake plastic flowers that bursts into song and the flowers dance when someone walks by it.  I sit that out and the little kids think it is wonderful!  OK--this is the love part coming out of me...........the hate part is that I just get so friggin' stressed out each year over all of it!   Let me do trick-or-treat and have a lot of fun, or let me do birthday party and have a lot of fun--doing both wears me out!!!

I'm just chattering away--sorry!!!  Hugs to all--bar is open, as usual!

Oh, the bar is open?????   YEA!!!  :)

Miss Cranky Pants (I swear she's gonna think that is her given name!) is just plain old cranky! Thankfully Grandma  is coming over tonight (hrmph - she'll be in bed by then) and Mama can go out and play for a while. I'm meeting up with a new young man....

So the antibiotic Avery takes gives her diarrhea. It's a good thing I'm on vacation this week as my stress level is quite high today. She won't eat but a few foods (yogurt, bananas and pretzels) and has no real appetite. Motherhood is great, most of the time!  :)

    Cheers!

We have mixed emotions over Halloween, love to see the young kids dress up but dislike the real meaning of halloween.

I will be in chemo that evening so will miss most of them this year.

Ooohhhh! Don't know about any hazelnut stuff (???) but hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps (or just plain peppermint schnapps) is really good!  :)

I'll be doling out the raisins on Halloween. I'm sure Avery will have fun at daycare that day and won't even notice that she isn't dressed up. If she turns out to be an ax-murderess then I'll know it was because I didn't dress her up this year..... (j/k)  Perhaps I should begin planning her outfit for next year? It will probably take me an entire year just to make it!

Tonight is the last real night of my 'vacation' so I'm enjoying it. Sunday is football and getting ready for the work week.

That's all, just hanging out with a nice cotes du rhone tonight and relaxing some. Cheers!  :)

Frangelico!  Mmmmm.  good stuff.  I like amaretto in hot chocolate. Kaula is good too.  We used to take it to the local high school foot ball games -- none of the other adults knew it was spiked.  And no, we did not share!

    Hello Laides,

My god I have been AWOL for so long, Sorry!  I miss you all.  I see you are all doing fine.

I'm great, I just passed my two year mark back in April.  I had no insurance until October and just had my lungs checked and liver and yeah NED.  I was told that I had a "fatty Liver"  i know it is from drinking but whatever, I will cut back some and I just today went back to running.  Other than that I'm the picture of health.  Yeah.

Nothing new, I still love my new job here at BAE Systems.  We are like a Raytheon, we build bombs for the goverment, and all the stuff that helps our troops better able to spot the enemy.

I hope all of you are enjoying life and continued good health.

    Hi Buds~

All the drinks you mentioned sound yummy! I need to check my liquor cabinet to see what all I have.  I had some Kaluah and Frangelico but it's been a while...don't know if it's still there or not!

Had a fun weekend in Eureka Springs with my 2 sisters.  But middle sis and I both think baby sister (she's 42 but acting like she's 16 lately) needs.....something.  She can be so smart about things, but when it comes to day to day stuff, let's just say she's not the brightest star in the sky.  She can't seem to make rational decisions to save her soul.  Not that I'm an expert, but geezzz!  I need to stop thinking about it, it's making my BP rise, I can feel it!

Anyway, we stayed at an awesome bed & breakfast.  I have never stayed at a B&B before, but if you're even in the Eureka Springs, Arkansas area (very quaint, artsy kinda town) the All Seasons Inn is awesome!

Got totally lost driving home yesterday and turned a 2 1/2 hour trip into a 3 1/2 hour trip.  I really need a GPS.

Well, think I'll peruse the liquor cabinet and see if I've got anything "good".

    Have a nice evening everyone.

CY - you take care of yourself.  Don't make me come up there  :-)

    Cheers,

    Donna
