Casino Girl--I snorted ML every which way when I read your post!!  I live 10 minute drive north of Eureka Springs!!!!   We could have met up for a bit, but I was in OKLAHOMA for the weekend!!  Now, how just too much @#*%$#-up is that????  Eureka Springs is a darling little tourist trap--did you by any chance find a little bar called, "Jack's Place"  or "Shawbies"?????    Our two fav local hangouts.   Gotta let me know next time you're heading this way!!!

We're still having 'puter ups and downs--hopefully, in a couple weeks we'll have everything new in place and up and running--meanwhile, it's hit and miss for my access......

Sam--counting the days!   Went to an Indian casino in Grove, OK, for dinner.  Played nickle poker while waiting for our table and I won enough to pay for our dinner and Bob's golf the next day.   Was having a great time, but they pulled me out of there immediately after dinner--they won't dare do that in Las Vegas!!!!   Can't wait!

Big HUGGGSSSSSSS to all!    The bar is open!!!

Junie - Sounds like you were very lucky!!!  Nickel poker? what happened to 3 card poker?  Save some of that luck for Vegas.  I can't wait to get out of Dodge for a few days.  Dh is going to Vegas on the 5th, I will get there the afternoon of the 8th and we will head home the afternoon of the 11th.  I've got your cell number plugged into mine - is it still the same?

We had a year end golf league party last Sat and enjoyed drinking Coconut Rum and pineapple juice - tasted like a pina colada also had a margarita and a beer!!!  Remember the saying Whisky on beer never fear - beer on whisky awful risky.  Well, I did the beer first to play it safe!!!

Hope everyone has a great day/week/life!!!

Junie - I knew you were in Arkansas, but didn't realize you are so close to Eureka!  Or at least you're USUALLY close to Eureka!  What a co-inky-dink you were in OK this weekend!

Yep, visited Jack's Place Fri night, which I think I didn't feel so hot Sat!  There was a good band, and there are always fun people there as well.

I'll definitely let you know the next time I go.  I do love that little town.  I think I'd lose weight if I moved there too, 'cause I'll bet I walked 10 miles over the weekend, lots of it up hill too!

BTW - I DID find some Frangelico and Baileys in my liquor cabinet last night and made a drink combining the two.  It was yummy!

    Cheers,

Sam--visiting the casino wasn't on the to-do list--just happened by chance because the restaurant we all went to for dinner was closed.  Closest place was the casino.   Then, we had to wait for tables that would seat 10--so, I was "allowed" to go gamble as long as I stayed in sight of everyone--only thing available was this nickle poker--but I was playing max bet for $2.25 a spin!!!!   Our gang wouldn't let me near the 3-card poker tables, knowing they would never get me out of there!   If last 4 digits of my phone are 1888----you've got the right number, if not call or PM me.

I'm thinking that Eureka Springs just might be a nice little spot for a drinking buds get-together maybe late spring, early summer????   Got to be warm enough to play golf and take a boat ride on Table Rock Lake!  But, it is lovely and fun here all year 'round.

Hope everyone is doing okay.  I'm enjoying the change of seasons, allergies and all.  I do hate the thought of winter, but time flies so fast I know it won't last long!

Bar is open!  and just to throw out for those who don't live close enough to drive to Eureka Springs, AR, there is a great little airport XNA that we use often, a little over 1 hr drive.  And, SGF, Springfield, MO, is about 1 1/2 dr.   Both now have rental cars......food for thought....

    hugggsssssss to ALL!!

Junie - a Eureka Springs get together would be great!  I know Christine has never been there but has said she'd love to!

Spring sounds like a great time - before it gets too hot, 'cause you know, I'm just smokin' hot ALL the time these days. Laughing

I too enjoy the change of seasons, especially fall.  Makes me want to shop too for some reason.  I did do some shopping in E.S. over the weekend - even did some Christmas shopping, which I believe is the earliest ever for me.  I'm one of those people still looking for things on the 23rd or 24th!

Hope everyone has a great day!  Let's meet back after work when the bar is open for Happy Hour!

    Cheers,

It's after work - ready for happy hour!

I just saw on our local news that there are two high school girls here in Kansas that had t-shirts made for breast cancer awareness.  They are pink with two baseballs printed on front and underneath it says SAVE SECOND BASE.  At first I was a little offended but then after hearing them say that one of their moms died of breast cancer and the other's mom also has had it and they were just trying to raise money for a good cause I changed my mind.  The school banned them from selling them on school grounds because it had a sexual meaning.  They are selling them from their homes and have already had orders for over 400.

Second base - hadn't thought of that in years!!

Donna - Christmas shopping in Oct - I think I need to hire you

Junie - Eureka Springs or Holiday Island would be a great place to meet up.  I'll bring my clubs.  21 days till we take flight - can't wait

BAR is O P E N!!!  Back home, now trying to get new computer stuff up and running--think this much is ok so can can hopefully stay in touch here.   It has rained all day--sure wish I could send some of it to our sisters in the SE who need it so badly!  Along with all the toadstools growing in our yard--they are so weird!!!

I think Eureka would be a fun place for a get-together, so we'll just let that thought simmer for a bit and get on it after the holidays!

Sam--sent you a snail mail and we'll see you soon in Las Vegas!

Looking for new pics of my cyber neice, Miss Avery!!!

Big huggsssss to all!!!   Oh, my--the ML tastes so good tonight!!!!

Well, break out the booze because I'm going back to flying! YEA! Guess that's the reason I haven't found a new job all these past months? Now all I have to do is pass my re-training. :-/ I still have to suffer through "The Holiday's" as I don't go back until next March but it should make retail hell not so hellish knowing I'll be out of there in four months.

That's all. I've actually been on the wagon lately (why?? I do not know!) but I just might have a drink tonight to celebrate. I was supposed to have a date tonight but he flaked out and never called. What is it with guys nowadays???

    Cheers!

Ha! LOL, "Smoking Hot Donna"  I think I once heard a song about her, now everyone knows you are truly "smokin' hot"

Junie ES sounds like a great Spring get together. I am so jealous, I will not be in Vegas.

You and Sam win lot$$$. Place some on 36 red as soon as you walk into a casino. I can't guarantee it, but I've heard it's a sure bet!

Janis- woo hoo! Back to the "friendly skies" Now you can get those great rates and come to the get togethers. Up, up and away!!

Miss ya'll. Hugs to each! Back to laundry and my late dinnerm which should have a glass to go with it. Celebrating Janis' job, of course.

Janis--CONGRATS!!!  New job sounds exciting and fun and maybe it's just what you've been waiting for!  March will be here before you know it!   My cousin's dau has flown for years and is a single mom.  Think her son is about 8 yrs old now...she has every base covered in case of flight delays getting home.   It is challenging, but she loves it!    Who will you be flying with?  And, more importantly, if I get on one of your flights, will you slip me free drinks!!!!!!   I'm excited for you to have something to look forward to!!!

I was going to call our PCP today and schedule our flu shots, but we both woke up feeling snotty and lousy--damn colds!   So, will wait a few days.

Bar is open--but my ML is going down real slow!

Y'all should see my house--it is one messy room after another--boxes everywhere from all the new computer stuff and old computer stuff and stuff I've been ordering for Christmas and birthdays--and I've just about freaked my own self out-----and, company coming this weekend............I might have to bump up to hubby's scotch tomorrow night!!!

    big hugggssssss to all!!!!

TGIF - Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Fall is starting, leaves are starting to change.  I must admit I would rather have 100 degrees than winter.

Janis - glad to hear you found a new job.  Up up and away from WF!!!

Junie- got your snail mail - thanks.  I'm forwarding it on to my friends.  See you in a couple of weeks!!

Christine - I'll try that 36 red - one time!!  We went gambling one weekend in KC and one of my son's and his friends kept calling and asking me to place a bet on a certain number - like a fool I did and lost everytime.  Needless to say I was never reimbursed for the losses although I do know if I had won they would have asked for it.  They all had a bit too much to drink and just kept calling - I should have been a little wiser.

Sam We tired the wheel once! We one $100 and left! They guy just looked at us funny. We like slots better

The leaves changed colors pretty fast here. We've had to clear ice off the car for the last two mornings. They are even saying we might have snow in Seattle as early as Thanksgiving. it's only done that twice in the 19+ years I've lived here.

Wishing I could spike my soda real bad so You gals be sure to have a couple for me tonight!

Janis, congrats on getting back to the friendly skies!

I know it's still a few months away but sounds like it's just what you need!

    Hi All,

Not much going on here. I was off today and it was gorgeous out (sunny and 60) so I cleaned my gutters. I'm still cleaning up my vegetable garden and am thinking I just might not have one next year because of my flying/commuting. If I do plant one it will be on a much smaller scale than I usually have. There are still a lot of green peppers growing but as soon as the frost hits they'll be gone.

I'm very excited to be getting back to flying! I haven't said anything at work yet and probably won't for a while. No one needs to know right now as I'll still be there through February. Ugh - The Holiday's! Since the next two months will be super hectic, though, March will be here before I know it! I'll definitely have to give out my cell phone number to my drinkin' buds for when I have layovers in your cities!  :D  I am, of course, going to try for mostly international flying.....  (Paris, here I come!)

As for Miss Avery, she's not walking yet but testing her standing which is really cute! She walks while holding onto things now but will be zooming around the house in no time I'm sure! Time to get that toilet lock on the toilet! I have a septic system and cannot allow anything to get flushed other than what is supposed to get flushed! :o

Tonight it's Blackstone Cab. Been on a cabernet kick lately. I have two bottles of Vanille Royale is the cabinet and usually drink that when I have a taste for ice cream.....

    Cheers!

    Hi buds~

Janis - CONGRATS on the job!  Which airline will you be working for?  I always thought that sounded like a glamorous job!

Junie & Sam - you girls have fun in Vegas.  Damn, sure wish I were going.  Maybe I'll win the lottery this week :-)

CY - you deserve to tie one on after this chemo BS is over!

Christine - I miss you my friend.  Let's talk again someday :-)

It's spiced rum & coke season for me as the weather cools off. (not right now, as I'm at the office and they tend to frown on that!)

    Cheers,

Pre-Happy Halloween to my drinking buds!   Tomorrow will be nuts--it is hubby's 65th BD.   No big party planned, but out to a very nice dinner, and hopefully home in time to pass out lots of candy.   We have our doorbell programmed to people screaming--scares the crap out of me!   We have learned that the town people bring their kids out here, thinking we rich old retired farts have lots of super treats (HAH!!!)  But, I have a lot of fun.   Not planning to dress up this year, too much going on.   Heading back to Kansas City on Thurs for another baby shower--my DILs--this will be grandbaby no. 8 for me!!!  Then, back home for a few days before we meet up with Sam in Vegas!

Fixed myself a Bloody Mary while cooking dinner--oooppsss--didn't get something quite right--knocked myself into tomorrow--fell asleep during the debates....have my second wind now, but fading fast!!

Have a bootific Halloween--witch you all were here!!!

Me!  :) Actually I do leave my undergarments all over the house but since I live alone (other than Avery of course!) it really doesn't matter!  I just take off whatever I want to take off and that's that! Now that winter is fastly approaching, though, the layers are more likely to stay on, even while sleeping.....

attempting to post from friend's house in Kansas City.   We had some trick or treaters, though not the numbers in past years.  What I loved were the young couples with little kids--and EVERYONE was in costume--they got more candy!!!!   I love the raisin idea!!  Will put that on my list for next year instead of candy.  I'd eat the raisins, but not as fast as the leftover candy.

Bar in Arkansas is closed for a few days, but this bar in Kansas City is wide open and, did I get some super red wine with dinner!   I'll be dragging tomorrow!   But, until then,,,aahhhhh!!!

Maybe I need more than just alcohol.....  :o

    Hi Buds~

Junie & Sam - are you back from Vegas?  Did you win a million dollars and planning to throw a fabulous party for your virtual drinking buds? Cool

Janis - sorry you had yet another shitty day at work.  March will be here before you know it, so hang in there!

I dressed up like a pirate on Halloween.  ARRGH!  I need to download some pics from the camera.  Maybe I'll post one here as I'm sure you'd all love to see me making a fool of myself (again) Laughing

In my attempt to NOT leave any vaca time on the table come the end of the year, I was in Hot Springs Arkansas Thurs - Sun.   Was the first time there for BF and me.  Went to lots of art galleries, did the spa thing (but not in the hot springs).  It is odd to see hot water bubbling from the ground.  But I'm hot enough as it is, I sure don't need to soak in 134 degree water!

Junie - we saw lots of people collecting the hot spring water in plastic containers....do you know what they do with it?

Boss is out of town all week!  WooHoo!  Hope everyone has a great day!

    Cheers,

    Donna

back home and bar is open.  Laundry is done and now pack tomorrow for the Vegas trip.   Donna, we leave Thurs for Vegas and will be meeting Sam on Friday.   Y'all send us good vibes so that we CAN have a super party with our cyber drinking buds!!   Don't have a clue why people were putting the water in the bottles....haven't been to Hot Springs--we should go some time, it's not too far.

Hang in there, Janis--with the holidays coming, you're gonna have some more really crappy days--but that will soon be behind you!  Give Miss Avery a hug from me!

This afternoon, DH tarped up the boat for the winter.   That always makes me sad--I know winter is right around the corner and I'll go into hibernation mode for a couple of months.

Gonna finish my ML (and maybe one more....) then head for bed.  Tomorrow will be busy day--plus, have to clean house for while we are gone because friends are coming by from KC and may stay here.  It's okay, they're like family, but just one more thing to do!  My mind is so frazzled that even a slot machine is going to seem to complicated to figure out!   big hugggsssssss to all!!!
