LDB, amazing how far they have come with surgeries. And how so many are out patient. Pics of Logan are on FB, not here.

NM, I knew those keys would show up, but not before you spent money on new ones. You weather has been super cray cray.

Sandie, good luck with your surgery.

Cami, sorry you were feeling up to going to your cousins. I know how disappointed you must have been. Your family is so much fun.

Jazzy it has only sprinkled here 2 times, one was last night. So, altho monsoons are here, we are not getting much.

Just a quick pop in, been busy with work and outside, neighbors, and such. Spent Friday at a splash pad with a neighbor and her 3 granddaughers. Had so much fun being aroung them, told her I wanted to be Nana Lori! Her other 2 grands were here a week or so ago, they are older, and we went quad riding. I think I shared that. She gets the boys in a couple weeks. My mom called the other day, cuz she couldn't breath! And of course they came! She didn't want to do her breathing treatment from the nursing home, cuz it was Albuterol, and she wanted something else. Of course she did not go to the hospital. We are leaving in the morning for Laughlin. Be heading home on Thursday.

Been reading about bone shortening osteotomy (BSO) surgery, especially patient blogs, and am utterly terrified. Not just of the pain, but of the disability that will last for weeks, maybe months—not being able to self-care one-handed. Tried putting on bras in the front—if I can't use my L hand to hold one side in place, I can't work the clasps with my R alone. Tried front-closing zip bras, and couldn't get the zipper started—was like a slingshot and nearly put out an eye. Couldn’t pull up my loosest jeans, either—remember, even my R hand is compromised with pain from the hairline fractures at either end of the radius. Ortho says to wear a R brace—but how do I put it on w/my L hand when I’m not even supposed to hold anything heavier than a pencil? Don’t want to get a short “post-chemo”—type haircut for ease of styling because I know i look awful in short hair. How will I care for my cats? Will I have to hire a home aide or go into rehab? I will be unable to drive fir a month, too.

Scared witless. Messaged my surgeon’s office to ask if this can wait till my R arm heals, or at least a couple more weeks till I return from NY. (Trip is prepaid hotel rm, for a timeshare followup presentation at which both of us must be present—if we don’t show we’ve lost $350; can apply the airfare to a future SW flt. w/in the year). Surgeon says I can travel—but he’s not the one going to be dealing with pain & disability.

Speaking of pain, it will be unbearable unless I can ice & elevate above my heart 24/7 for at least a week—and the hardware in the ulna will cause severe pain—for months—if I try to rest my arm on anything, even pillows. Yes, I hurt now, but not constantly and not like that even when I use my L hand. I know I will never heal w/o surgery and never play guitar or dulcimer again; but even after surgery I won’t be able to play for months—if ever. And I will have some permanent wrist stiffness, soreness, and bone pain in cold and damp weather.

Tell me why I should do this to myself?

Chi- can you get some in home help for the re-cooperation period? My sister uses a service called Visiting Angels that can help with things like this. They can help with things like pet care, and other misc. light care while you are healing, especially the first week? With Bob's busy career, you will need some help I think?

I have a housekeeper, but she's not in the greatest of shape herself and must also care for her husband. She can't stay past 3:30 or 4 p.m. I will look up Visiting Angels--they'll likely be quite expensive because Medicare won't cover them. I will need them to undress me at night) as well as dress me on weekends, because there is NO way Bob will be willing to take any time off to care for me. (He has never fastened a bra in his life--his mother had to recuperate from her mastectomy across the country, alone, while her husband worked long hours on Wall St). I will probably need to get one of those stick-on knobs for my iPhone so I can use it one-handed to order a rideshare. I will see if Alden North Shore or Old Orchard (both of which do only post-ortho-surgery rehab) can take me--I know BCBS Medicare Part B will cover them if I can't rehab at home/.

I attempted to practice pulling up my jeans one-handed, as well as fastening my bra in front (with an extender on the loosest hook) and turning it around, w/o using my L hand. No dice--my gut is too big for my R hand to reach around to do either task. I can (with difficulty) pull up my underpants and loose knit elastic waist pants, get into cap-sleeve tees, dresses and caftans one-handed, and of course step into sandals. (Bought a long-handled shoehorn but not sure if it'll help me get into loafers & flats). I put all my disability clothes in one place today.

cami - tee hee, yes that is me for realz - I babble on, then go to a new topic, then back to where I started...then I wonder why people don't know what I am talking about ;);) I am 64, have never been particularly vain - I am the one that leaves for work then remembers I didn't brush my hair, or I'd get to work and my shirt was on inside out, oops! This whole last month I have felt sooo great, energy, enthusiasm and all that good stuff, which is kind of why I am thinking about the surgery, mostly I don't care that I am half and half (flat and even flatter :) )

Let's have a great week with lots of great results and wayyyyy less pain - Cheers! j

    Early Mornin Ladies.

O sandy all u've described sounds hideous. Wit all the help u'll need how can u possibly stay home, the simplest chore will turn it into major work or trouble. It always sounds like Bob has such a busy schedule how can he possibly help Did u know all of this before??? Well u are usually so organized u figure everything out to the T. I'm sure u must not have known it was going to really put u in a bind, especially since ur other hand is all screwed up. And when did this have to do with ur playing, u said for a while before, this time u said maybe like forever...So u have to heal correctly. And I know ur housekeeper has a lot going on cuz she would no doubt help u in a minute. Wow I've never heard of the Visiting Angels, they must have them in the Chicago area. well first thing contact them and see if u can work this out. Maybe there are some other kind of groups that do these things, I can't believe there is no coverage for this, that's terrible. I'm sorry I don't have any answers for u, but there must be something u can do.

OK Janky u got me, I'm pretty much scattered all the time, way before I got older, u know going to work with 2 different shoes, 2 different earrings and didn't give a damn. Of course now I wear no earrings but slippers for work, so it's good for me. When I was younger my brother would say even with a compass u couldn't find ur way out of the garage, and my answer was , well I hardly go in there. < of course not thinking again what I was saying> and i've always had jobs that had to do with serving the public in some way---Oh well.

Jazzy good thinking about about the Visiting Angels, I have to look them up and see what they offer.

Kim hahahaha---we all blamed not you---I was thinking in ur robe, hmmmm I would never have looked there---u silly goose.

Lori be safe in ur travels, I hope this is for fun it usually is rigt.??? But I bet it is hot hot hot there so drink plenty of water. <<<HUGS>>>

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey Day!Will be off to set up the classroom in a few minutes, excited to have a class again. Spent all weekend doing review work and getting things ready. I use my roll on to tote stuff around, so when I'm packing my stuff up Sadie thinks I'm going away and sulks. She'll be happy when I get home this peeyem!

Cammy--I'm sorry you didn't feel well for your visit with your cousin. It must be really frustrating to have to deal with that.

Goldie--Yeah, I figured the keys would show up, too. Still. How the heck did they manage to hide so long???? Still the mystery. Still think it's Sadie's doing. Your Mom is such a hoot, and so typical. At least you don't have to worry about her care as much now. Have a good trip to Laughlin!

Chi--oh my dear, what you describe sounds horrific!I wish I had words of wisdom for you.

    Hashy Budz DOTD:

    Drunken Monkey Cocktail

    Ingredients:

    • 6 ounces orange-pineapple juice blend
    • 3 ounces coconut rum
    • 1 ounce spiced rum
    • 4-5 dashes bitters
    • Fresh ground nutmeg
    • Maraschino cherries in juices
    • Lime slices
    • Fresh pineapple wedges

    Directions:

    1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the juice, coconut rum, spiced rum, and 4-5 shakes of bitters. Shake for 30 seconds.
    2. Pour into 2 iced tumblers or one tall glass. Then pour in 1-2 teaspoons of cherry juice and let it settle at the bottom of the glass. Garnish with a lime slice, pineapple wedge, and a cherry.

ChiSandy- can you also go to rehab for a bit? I know usually they can do an assessment to determine if you need that or not. You have to be able to do a number of things to be able to take care of yourself that would be evaluated by a PT, OT, etc. I tried to get that after my major abdominal surgery and worried I would not fare well on my own at home. But they said I was "doing too well" and thus, no rehab for me. I did have a visiting nurse and that helped. But I also did not have some of the challenges you will be facing.

Ask about rehab today and even if your house keeper cannot do as much right now, she can maybe at least take care of the cats (food, water, and litter pan).

Cami- Visiting Angels is a national company, and my sister uses them for her partner. Like Sandy's husband, she is a busy physician and cannot take a lot of time off with her patient care, so she began using these folks a couple years ago. She has a woman come in to help her partner once a week with things she needs help with and has brought in more care when needed. But to Sandy's point, this is not a service covered by insurance (including Medicare) so you have to pay for it out of pocket. My sister also had them helping her partners elderly aunt for awhile, but she ended up firing them all (long story, but she is never happy with anyone or anything.......)

I will ask about rehab—the place I rehabbed after my second TKR—solely for post-ortho-surgery patients—was terrific, and would be covered by Medicare. (The first place a year earlier was a pit). The cats need feeding twice a day for wet food and twice a day for kibble—the latter I can do one-handed. Once a day, and one type of food, won’t cut it, as they are both on strict weight-control plans (Heidi also has kidney issues). My housekeeper still has foot (post-bunion-op) issues and will soon need a TKR; she doesn’t work weekends and often has to take off for other reasons—especially her diabetic DH who is a prostate cancer survivor and has issues from a serious auto collision 15 yrs ago.

Visiting Angels will be having someone from the Evanston office contact me. If it’s only for a few weeks, and not all-day every day, we can afford it

En route to family, shrink appt., my AC went out in the car--and Gordy has a power failure in his apt. Shrink today says to cowgirl up and do it now before I get older and have trouble healing. Have all my front-close bras, elastic-waist knit pants & shorts, and caftans (long & short) all in one place and ready to go. I will shower, do my hair and go braless to surgery, so I can undress myself tomorrow night w/o help. Will ask surgeon tomorrow to recommend in-patient rehab if I can't make it work at home with Visiting Angels, and try to reserve a slot at Alden N. Shore or Old Orchard. As for NY, we'll see how it goes by this time next week. HGV might let us postpone till fall. And since Bob already blocked the time off, I will ask him to put in some quality time here for me. He says if he takes time off for my surgery, "it'll cost thousands of dollars in lost procedures and going out of pocket to meet my overhead." My shrink replied that if he doesn't, "the divorce will him cost tens of thousands of dollars." Heading out now to take Heidi to the vet.

Chi- I like your shrink and his/her sense of humor, but do think the shrink is underestimating the cost of the divorce for Bob. I think getting this done now will be the best thing for you, and really expect the Visiting Angels will be able to help you get through the worst of this. Plus it will meet your need for having Bob keeping his practice going and then being around for you in the evening. My hope is that it will all come together easily for you tomorrow and through recovery.

Good luck with the procedure, and we will wait to hear form you on the other side of surgery.

My surgeon's NP messaged me back--Medicare (or any insurance other than long-term care, which is now impossible to get) will not approve inpatient rehab for upper-extremity injuries unless neither arm is available for use. She thinks I might be fine on my own after these first few days--so we'll see.

Made an heirloom Caprese. Gonna have a Caesar salad; then Alaskan sockeye salmon, snap peas, and a fried hash-brown patty (because I can), with a glass of Fleurie. I have only three hrs. left to eat & drink, so I might also add an Aperol spritz. (Maybe gelato or spumoni too, maybe no dessert). So long as I will be on an opioid, no alcohol for me, so my DOTD posts are gonna be a bit boring for awhilw.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! First day of class went really well, got a lovely tri of newly graduated nurses who just need to get through this class to get their authorization to take the licensing exam. I'm trying to make it as fun as possible. We managed to get out early yesterday, hoping to be able to get out early again today. Sadie was happy to have me home early. Her new trick is to start getting me up 10 minutes before the alarm goes off. I swear that dog can read the bedside clock! My alarm goes off at 5:35 (I missed a little when setting the time, didn't bother to back it up) and Sadie started woofing and nudging me at 5:25 ayem yesterday and today! That can NOT be a coincidence! Silly Dog.

Chi--LOL at the shrink's comment! Good luck! Can Bob open the kitty's wet food and put it in the fridge covered with plastic wrap so you can use just one hand to take it out and uncover it at the proper times? Maybe he could do that each morning or in the evening for the next day?

    DOTD:

    Easy Watermelon Margarita Recipe

    Ingredients

    2 cups crushed ice

    1 cup Tropicana® Watermelon

    6 oz. tequila

4 fluid ounces frozen limeade concentrate

    2 oz. Triple Sec

    Instructions

Fill a blender with ice and crush. Add remaining ingredients and blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. Add ice if needed for desired consistency. Serve in margarita glasses with the rims dipped in margarita salt or sanding sugar.

    Mornin Ladies,

Oh Sandy praying for the best for u today. U probably won't read this yet but know we're all waiting to hear as soon as u can how everything goes, and sometimes things just work out. OK ur shrink sounds stupendous, already like himher. <<<HUGS>>>

Jazzy u always have advice that's for all of us to get help. Or sometimes how to relax, which most of us need and always thankful ur here.

Kim i just figured Sadie out, in her before life she was a professor in tactical operations, whatever that is, she is always outsmarting you LOL., Ah teaching One of ur first loves and I can't imagine u are anything but great at it. Not just ur knowledge but ur attitude. Everyone in ur class is so lucky to have you, ur really going to shape them to help make them the best. Yes they're still shapeable.

I got my puter set for the day. I have 6 tabs for work now where I used to have 3, all of this is easy for peeps who are techy, butwell what can I say. One of my jobs is follow-up calls and tat's so hard for me. I do fine with calls that I answer, but when it comes to starting a conversation I'm just not good, I tend to blurb words and LOL without wanting to. Snce Dan thinks I'm so good on the phone he doesn't get it, cuz people tell him I helped tem so much blah blah blah, so he thinks it comes easy for me but it doesn't. Years and years ago when I used to even order things on the phone Jodie did it for me and that was no big deal, well shes great on phones now but not me. Like Ive said show me a lazy mother and I'll show u an independent child and she is hehehe .

OK today is dr. day <ick> so Ill take a nap now then get ready.

    Morning DahhhhLinKs,

Sandy - ur a mess mary. That's a joke k? I will be rooting for a GR8 outcome on your surg today. Sounds like quite a quandary…I feel soo bad for you but will keep the prayers heading out your way.

Gotta tell all about the end of my weekend. A/C went out about 3pm on Sunday. Guys came out and looked at it, but we needed a new part. Weren't sure if they could get it in the next few days. We made reservations to stay at a local hotel Monday night as neither of us slept much Sunday night. Inside my house Monday it got up to 89o. We were miserable. Then here come the repair guys. They found the part and we had air by 2pm. Still took hours to cool the house down, but we are grateful. We called and canceled the room res's.

Then I'm in my bed with my Baxter doing the snugglies in the airconditioning…house just starting to cool off and the power goes out. We had black as night clouds, thunder and lightening, but NO rain. I started LOLing, like, what else can happen today. But alas, we survived.

NM - yes…I am saying he mistook a 'mass' in my gut as my non-existant uterus. This all took place in '09, then my niece is his patient and I warned her. She ended up changing docs after her 1st surgery. She is OK now. Sometimes I wonder how these yahoos stay in practice.

Lowee - Happy to hear you are heading for a widdle stayK...have fun but stay safe.

Would like to address each of you but time is not on my side today. Jes kno, like always, I think of you all often and pray for you everyday.

Doing this one-handed on iPad, as my charger (or the integrated cable) for my laptop suddenly won’t charge regardless of which USB-C port and outlet I’m using.

DOTD: apple juice when I awoke at surgi-center; espresso (one-handed, using Nespresso machine) when I got home after awful 2-hr rush hour ride home. Bob came home early (made rounds before office hrs) and will help me tonight. Arm still so numb that I can’t even feel, much less move, my fingers—have to use my shoulder or my R arm to prop it up when I stand. (no bra=no “shelf” to rest my arm on). Took my Norco as instructed as soon as I got home even though not yet in pain. So being loopy plus balancing this iPad on my thigh and typing one-fingered (including correcting Auto-Correct screwups) is slowing me down, so pass the word down on my other most frequent thread hangoutsthat I won’t be my usual voluble online self for at least tonight.

Got my MRI done today. Man, I forgot how LOUD those things are. I decided to walk over across the street to the breast surgeon's office to see if I could not find a way to get in to see her sooner than the 27th. The imaging center said I would be having those results reviewed only by her me, nothing would come from them. With the mammo and US, they always come in the room and tell you right away if you are okay if you have had bc. I knew that would not be true of the MRI though. But when I called last week to get the apt moved up, I was told "she is booked out in to August." I told her I was open to be contacted for a cancellation but got nowhere.

So today I decided to do a face to face with a real person since I was right there, and if the images are there in time tomorrow afternoon as planned, I am going in to hear the results then and get my yearly check up done. Going in to ask and talk to a real person face to face does work. Schedulers on a phone could give a .......

Also funny/not funny were the women at the front desk at the MRI center. They made a point when they called to be prepared to pay any co-insurance at time of service. Big sign at the check in counter too about this! So I was ready for that, and asked as I was leaving what I owed, and they said "no you are good, we will submit to insurance and then send you a bill for your portion." I get half way to my car and one of them comes running out to stop me (and I am thinking I left something there), but NOOOO, they were supposed to collect some co-insurance. Eye rolll. So I went back and took care of that. You cannot make this stuff up.

Will let you know what I find out tomorrow or hopefully soon. I have my Prolia shot friday and would love to be done with all this stuff by this week. Fingers crossed for NED.......

Hope your pocket is big enough, Jazzy, to hold all of us for all of what’s coming up on your plate these next few days. Should have warned you to bring earplugs to wear beneath the headphones (cranked to the max) for the MRI.

Axillary block was injected at about 1:30 or 2pm—arm, hand, fingers still totally numb, as if they belong to someone else. Took a Norco at 6pm—will take the next at midnight or when I feel a little pain, whichever comes first. Just happy to be able to go to the bathroom myself—bless those baggy gym shorts

Thanks Chi- when I had the last MRIs, the one on righty and then an MRI guided biopsy on that same side, I was pretty numb from the dx and also had some other health issues going on then so I did not remember much about it at all. Whenever I get up from being down in that thing with the girls hanging through and all that banging around my head, I come up feeling a bit shell shocked. They said today once again "are you okay" and I said yes, just a weird position and lots of loud noise to deal with.

I hope you get some sensation in that hand soon. I am sure it must be a bit scary to not feel anything quite yet. Drink lots of water to get the drugs out. Doing the same here with the dye that needs to come out from the MRI today....

The nerve block was regional (into a nerve, not a vein), and not systemic like MRI contrast dye—so only time will wear it off. The propofol and Versed got peed out long ago.

No alcohol, so drugs’ll have to do for now. Will need to up my “mock-tail” game in the days ahead

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Hump Day! I got home from teaching yesterday just in time to watch a real gully washer thunderstorm come through. Not a lot of lightning and thunder, but enough to notice, and almost half an inch of rain in less than an hour. The class hit a bit of a snag yesterday, the students are so well prepared that the class is moving way to slowly.I did a bunch of stuff to speed it up, but it still dragged quite a bit. So I talked with a couple of other instructors last night and have a new strategy for today, and got reassurance that if they get through all the stuff really quickly, it's ok to get done really early. So I'm thinking this is going to be a pretty short day. I have never worked with a class that has been as focused as these women are. It's been quite the experience! And Sadie is not complaining about my getting home early at all.

Chi--thinking of you, and in your pockets.

Cammy--Living with a dog that is smarter than I am is a real experience. But I love her dearly, and she keeps me entertained, so I'll keep her, despite the key incident! I'm like you with the phone--taking calls is ok, but making them is something I would like to never have to do ever again. Not sure why making calls is so intimidating and uncomfortable, but it is. Hmm, maybe I can teach Sadie to make calls for me?

Mema--I'm not sure which is scarier, losing the AC or the storm.I'd have been terrified of a tornado coming through.Do you get tornadoes where you are? I don't know how some docs stay in business, but they do. And often their patients' love them fiercely no matter what.

    Jazzy--love the video!

Chi-so glad you are done and home, and thanks for letting us know! Praying you stay pain-free!

Jazzy--Hooray for getting the appointment moved up! It is amazing what you can do face to face better than on the phone. Prayers for NED.

    Mornin' Ladies,

Gave a quick read thru so last night I knew u were he Sandy. U know just keep those pills going don't let the pain get a head of you. I'm glad Bob was there for you last night, Hope u recoup quickly, but ome on typing with one hand, I can't with 2 anymore, mor pink spots than a huge poison ivy rash. Anyway just take care and don't turn anyone down that wants to help.

Jazzy what a PITA this will be for you, one good thing tho u got things started pretty quickly, so u'll get some answers faster. Of course luck and <<<HUGS>>> to you this whole time, oh and of course prayers but I do pray everyday for all of us, but sometimes I nag a little more.

Kim good class u have, isn't it nice to have so many people show that much enthusiasm and ready to learn. I'm sure it makes it easier for u too. And coming home early will have Sadie on ur side more than ever, tricky little furbaby . What a pleasure for u to come home to her.

I went to my Dr. yesterday and it went fine, she did insist I had to get weighed , I don't every time, I hate it, so I finally agreed so on the way out I did, I notice my clothes are bigger on me but I also know they are stretched out too. LOL I only had one test to finish and I figured I'd get it done soon. well on my email was a message that she wrote and now I have to take a whole battery of tests cuz I lost 50 lbs and now she's concerned. I knew I lost weight but not that much and when people tell me I just figure they're trying to be nice hahaha. And cuz of my history she wants to make sure and I know she's trying to make me get tests done, like I'm really going to do this faster , so here we go again. But at least 3 are done in the same place and down the hall the other is done <all in the hospital> Ideally I'd like to get them done the same day, but who knows. I don't even know what a cat scan is, they should call one a dog scan It does sound more friendly, or wait maybe more sexual,,,oops my mind always wanders. I must have ACDC or whatever it's called. Im really not concerned just hate to get dressed for this chit.

    Hey SusyQ <<<HUGS>>>

    LUBS U ALL

Chi- I love a good seltzer with flavor in it or some fresh fruit. I love the mint seltzer from Whole Food and there is a new Geyser Springs peppermint that is delicious too. Some ideas until you can have a drink again. I hope you are feeling better today and getting some sensation back in the hand with the surgery. And hoping you have minimal pain too friend.

I got a request for an interview for some work I REALLY want on the west coast late last night. That interview is now first thing tomorrow, so I am really glad I moved the apt up to today. They gave me info for the new portal after my visit yesterday, so I am in watching for the results this morning to be sure they are there for our visit later today. It is now really super important that I get those results as I feel this interview is going to bring some great new work that will have me traveling soon. I also found out a fellow colleague I love working with is also being submitted as well, same project but different role. We were a dyno team and love the idea of working with him again after many years.

In the mean time, I have another recruiter interview shortly. This is a busy week on several fronts!

Saying a prayer for all going through tests and for Chi surgery. Have not been on for awhile so I am reading and trying to catch up.

Thanks, all. NP says to start using L fingers more, so trying to type 2-handed on iPad (laptop too heavy to schlep out to the deck, where I am right now). Jazzy, I’m walking over to my mint plant and putting a sprig in my seltzer. My housekeeper helped squeeze Thelma & Louise into a front-closing underwire bra—sadly, Thelma is way bigger and Louise a bit smaller than their respective cups. Pain is considerable, but Advil should be helping me space out the Norco. Making breakfast was an adventure—I lack the chops to neatly break eggs one-handed w/o having shrapnel end up in the bowl. (Extra calcium, I guess).

Weather is gorgeous—80, clear, dry, slight breeze, moderate pollen & mold. Hence my sitting out here!

Cami, could you use a fat donor? I’m only one county away...

Jazzy, would the new work entail a move west, or would you be telecommuting? In your pocket for uneventful MRI results—and for others’ tests & procedures as well

Good evening folks- well I may need you all in my pocket a bit longer. The MRI indicated one area in the left side which has a lot of scar tissue and fat necrosis as something to be biopsied. When the BS came in today, she seemed a bit stoic instead of her usually bouncy self so I sensed something was afoot. They have been watching this area for awhile, mostly because they cannot see everything they want to on that side. Rightie had no issues, but on the left side, they said something had a more nodular texture. The recommendation by the radiologist was needle biopsy and that is now scheduled for next Tuesday and will get the results of the biopsy in her office by next Wednesday.

I am always expecting that when I go in for any imaging each year, I will hear they want to biopsy, so I was not surprised, but always marvel at the crappy timing of things. I learned more today about this work in CA and the more I hear, the more I really do want this work, but not have a complication in the mix. But it is why I got this MRI scheduled and the office visit moved up. Gives me a chance to get any final answers here. I explained to my BS I have some out of state work pending that will have me traveling, so if I have a problem, I will need to know asap as if I have to back out of any offer, I need to do so quickly. She understands my dilemma and they got things going for me today so that I can have an answer by this time next week. If the interview goes well, my final interview will be by next Monday and should know soon after if they want me. It's going to be really fun interviewing the next few days with all this going on in the background.

Chi- if this work comes, I would be doing some travel out to the west coast Mon-Thurs each week, some work from home time as well some weeks. Although I may relocate some day, CA is too expensive. I have done traveling gigs before and like them as long as the location is easy to get to from here. I have not done any big travel work since the whole cancer journey and did feel I needed to be past my five years and feeling strong again (which I do). Hoping for the best next week.

Sounds like you have some pain today but better weather? We are going to have some rain tonight but that is a good thing....

Misty- thank you for the good wishes. How are you doing friend?

Okay, working on my interview prep and will be in touch again soon. Next up is my Prolia shot on Friday. The fun just does not stop.....

Jazzy, hoping it is just scar tissue and fat necrosis, and you get that job. In your pocket.

Still having considerable pain, but that means return of sensation & a bit more functionality. Hoping that when I get my cast next week, the hardware won't hurt as much as it does now--no way I can sit in coach (SW) with no place to comfortably rest my arm. (Must change positions constantly, including walking around--which is when the pain is mildest).
