A couple of you sent sweet encouragements to my screen name when I think they were for Wigging. Has she checked in? Understandable if not, this soon after surgery. Hope all is well with her. People here are always so supportive.
My internet was out from Tuesday until this morning. Trying to catch up. Waving to everyone.
Jazzy, I had cataract surgery to one eye last year. It was easy and successful and I'm so glad I had it done.

Hi ladies- getting in to the Xmas spirit over here today. Too much work lately and not enough fun makes for a very BORING jazzy. I was up to midnight last night on an IT dry run for our data move (went mostly well) and putting work aside until Monday. Cards getting done, some packages getting wrapped and prepped for mailing. I am making plans to see friends and get to a Xmas concert next weekend too. Ho ho ho!
Muddling, I have not seen anything yet from Wigging and hope she is doing okay. Hopefully she is doing well on the other side of surgery and will hear from her soon.
Cami- so glad Dan stopped over. Joey is a peach and Dan really cares about you too. Thank God for the ones who lift our spirits during the tougher times? I hope you are doing okay and bet you are ready for a fresh year with better times ahead....
Teka- thank you for the holiday greetings. I am listening to my Xmas CDs today. One of my favorite parts of the holiday season.
Goldie- we are getting rounds of snow here too, more rain down here in the north central part of NM. Mountains are getting lots of early snow. Everyone is so happy about this. Maybe I will get a white Xmas sitting in the hot springs this year?
NM- fingers crossed for you on the job front that something great comes for you here end of the year. I am having challenges on this contract now but it will slow down soon. I got an opportunity that came up today and going to talk to them this week. I need to do more PT for these folks in the new year and reduce my availability. Grateful for the work but not looking to be working day, night weekends. Typical of start ups though.
Who has their holiday shopping done? Started? I am mostly done, just have to package a few things up to go. I am more of a mail order gal these days.
Chi- you have sounded very busy with your performances
How are the Karens doing Celia C? Mistyeyes?
Okay, got to get a few more things done. My cold finally pushed out this week. Taking it slower today to rest after a busy work week. It is cold and windy out and a good day to stay in.
Here is a nice holiday music video for you. I love these two together!

Coming to you from the Hilton across from the theater.Show went very well last night (though my guests told me the mezzanine seats had very little leg-room). We sold out, as we are likely to do again tonight. Had a great tapas & paella post-show dinner at Mercat a la Planxa next door—party of 11.
Rain came and washed away the snow, and then some. Flood warnings again. I will just put my hood up as I walk across to the stage door. There’s a party at Bar Louie later, but I’m not big on noisy parties—I always get hoarse afterwards and I still have a performance tomorrow afternoon.
DOTD last night: sangria rosado (made with tequila).

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! I finally got yesterday's laundry in off the line, and took a chance and hung out another load. This ayem that load is covered in snow! I did not realize it was going to snow overnight or I wouldn't have done that load, but hey, it's just towels and they will dry eventually. And just to keep me on my toes, after I shifted everything in the bed a bit to the right of center Silly Sadie decided to go back to the right side of the bed last night! I swear she does this stuff on purpose just to keep me guessing!
Goldie--I'll be back to Hospice work next week after class. The class is onlyone week, but it makesa nice break from time to time. And yes, Sadie can switch up the side of the bed if she wants, it IS her bed after all.I only lay claim to one particular pillow out of the 5 currently on the bed.
Ooh, I love Eggnog, and I LOVE the eggnog cocktail!
Cammy--Thanks for the vote of confidence! There are several people at work, not just nurses, who keep telling me they wish I was a Clinical Manager. If the opportunity presented itself I would probably give it a try at this point. So glad Dan could stop in and brighten your day!
Muddling--woops, one of those was me.Goes to show how bad I can be at keeping track of things!
Wigging--we were in your pocket, and we are praying you did well and will feel up to pooping on just to say "Hi" soon! No need to read and ketchup, just say how you are doing.
Jazzy--My Christmas shopping is half done. Gotta figure out something for the menfolk. Got the womenfolk taken care of.Thanks for the music, I love What Child is This and this is a wonderful rendition.
Chi--so glad the show is going well.Sold out for 2 performances so far? That is great!

Cami, your family is so sweet, but you are sure put through hell! So glad that you get so much enjoyment out of Dan, and of course Joey. My mom is the same, no real changes. Both of my kids are doing well. Son just got a job yesterday, after being jobless for 2 months.
Jazzy, glad to hear your taking some "ME" time. The mountains here in Flagstaff have a couple feet of snow, not sure how much is fake, but skiing is open. No need to do any shopping here, everyone is so scattered, we just send money. I guess we are sort of your bah humbug, since there is no one to celebrate with.
Sandy, if there is another party tonight, perhaps you can attend that one?
NM, I think Sadie knows how much she is loved here, so she does things so you have stories to tell us. Those towels will just smell all the better! If you happen to try the eggnog cocktail, let us know. As for me, we are not one to have several different kinds of likker around and not sure how well they would keep, maybe in the freezer? Didn't you apply for a CM position this past year?
DOTD-Bah Humbug
◾1 can Nestle Caramel Treat – Peppermint flavour (290g)
◾1 can Nestle Dessert Cream (320g)
◾½ cup milk
◾¼ cup sugar
◾½ cup vodka or to taste – I prefer mine to be quite subtle, rather than knocking the other ingredients sideways and rendering them impossible to taste.Decant the caramel and cream into a large mixing bowl. They would have set a bit in the cans, so give them a thorough beating with a whisk until they're smooth. Beat them like they're bad kids who are getting coal in their Christmas stockings.
Add the sugar and milk and beat a few minutes more until the sugar is dissolved, then mix in the vodka.
Taste to check the balance of sweet versus boozy. It seems a bit crazy to add sugar when there's already an entire tin of caramel in there, but to me it takes the vicious edge off of the vodka. The milk is necessary to thin things down a bit, as the mix will thicken in the fridge and create the alcoholic equivalent of peanut butter sticking to your palate. Taste often and adjust as needed. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery afterwards.
Pour into squeaky clean glass bottles or jars and keep in the fridge. I would have done a test to check how long it can be kept – but it's never stuck around for longer than two days, so I can't tell you.

Hi, Ladies. Trying to get caught up on all the posts.
Jazzy - As ChiSandy said, cataracts easier than BC. Had both eyes done, one in May, 2nd in June (3 wks apart) in 2016. No longer have to wear glasses for driving, just inexpensive readers. Remember looking in the mirror and thinking, wow, where did all those wrinkles come from! The blurry pre-surgery "view" was more forgiving.
Just finished my usual Sun morning coffee with Chambord. Cheers!

Greetings from Nippy the Loose Lipped Pecker Wrecker (lmfao)
Woke up to snow today! About an inch or so on the ground and sublimating quickly. White wonderland out there and pretty. More moisture coming but may be in the form of rain as the day goes on.
I love the meme about Xmas spirit and pointing to the liquor cabinet. LOL

Nippy the Motherfuckin Welfare Mom checking in here. Bob didn't make it down to the hotel last night bescaue he worked too late and was too tired to cab it down here from home (our room rate includes only one car parking). So I went to the cast party, and it was noisy as all get-out. Food was meh (Buffalo nuggets, bad flatbread, lukewarm quesadillas). And it was a cash bar—nine bucks for a Lagunitas? Now I know why I drink real beer only once a year. Much better breakfast buffet today—but Bob slept in at home and went to church and then brunch instead, to watch the Bears game.
Mourning Northwestern's loss to OSU last night, but delighted to see the UW Huskies slam Utah. (Northwestern is sort of a neighborhood school, but not as close as Loyola; UW is Bob's alma mater, our ex-landlord and my ex-employer). So we will have someone to root for in the Rose Bowl without divided loyalties

DOTD today: a bottle of Kaliber with my post-show lunch with a friend. Hate to say it, but I like the taste of Kaliber (Guinness' non-alc) far better than the Lagunitas I had last night--or any IPA, for that matter. If only they could make de-alcoholized wine taste as good as Kaliber or Clausthaler Amber...
Then half a flute of Mumm's Napa Deveaux Ranch Blanc de Blancs with my leftover paella.
(Bob just cracked a bottle of mead...not that adventurous, especially so close to bedtime and right after my nightly CBD oil hit).

Ill, glad it gave you a chuckle.
Great names ladies, but so far I think Sandy has the best one. Soooo funny, and fun too!
Had more snow yesterday morning, same as day before, white out conditions and then gone by afternoon. I like that! Have a Xmas party on Thursday at a neighbors house.

Mornin' ladies, this is Hooker the horny dumpster slut---Hey I've moved up in the world and my mother would be proud.
Snow, rain, wine, fun, any kind of drink===we are a fun group no matter how the weather is. Oops the slut is coming out of me. These drinks look so so good I would like to line some up and get going, but alas I've grown to old and my skin is crappy my bones are crumbling oh chit I might as well start drinking again. Maybe I won't see all the wrinkles <massive> the liquor will mask all of that---yep keep em coming tenders, everyone of them.
Oh did we get the rain, I was up til 2am with emergency cals for sump pumps, I was geting so confused, cuz I already took. my meds for the night, some how the guys got it right. The good thing was these people thought I was actually funny but I wasn't, I was tired and screwy and again the guys think I'm filled with patience, HA I fwll asleep talking to people and told them so.It's strange I'm writing and the next thing I hear is hello, hello and realize it's me they are waking up.
We got a smaller tree this year, our other one was way to big with the furniture we have---it actually looks like an abortion of a tree but it's really cutely flocked, and the dog didn't even notice his new bathroom, we'll see. I can not believe it's almost Christmas and everything will be different this year. My niece isn't having it, her son wants to have it and he has a much smaller place, they it's just going tobe them. Joanne and I are trying to figure out where and what we can do for all of the family <way to many> to have at one place or time. My niece has a home big enough for a wedding, but its getting hard on her, she has had cancer too, I tol her how selfish she was, maybe that's why I'm not invited this year. LOL
I've got to come up with some way we can be together and I think I can work on that, HOOKERS can always figure out things.
OK Have a good Monday and hoping everyone is doing well.

Cami, I can relate to "Monday Lisa," except I'm not a brunette (uh, at least not any more).
Lori, I've tried them all except the sparkler, and I'd rather drink seltzer or fruit juice. Ariel used to make a really good non-alc. brut that was actually produced by the "methode champenoise;" but at $25 a bottle it was a flop--people seem to think that no alcohol should mean lower price, and you can get decent methode real sparkling wines for under $20 (especially Cavas, French sparklers from other regions, Ste. Michelle and even Mumm Napa & Domaine Chandon's entry-level bruts); so I think it was on the market for only one year. Bought a case for New Year's Eve that year (had a lot of teetotaling guests), and everyone liked it--in fact, we had more of the real stuff left over! These days, for teetotaling guests, I offer ginger ale, sparkling apple juice or seltzer.
Don't know why I'm craving it, but I think today's DOTD will be a really decadent rich hot chocolate tonight.

Hello my cocktail pals!
I’m back! Surgery went well except no implants put in due to bruising from my biopsy...but the plan is to go in on Friday and get them! So, back under I go. I’m doing really well...right now only on Tylenol for the pain! Mainly I’m tired, bored, and ready to hear about “the nodes” although the frozen section during surgery came back clean!
I’m reading and catching up slowly...thank you so much for all the surgery love! It’s for sure not fun but I’m trying to settle in and be a patient patient!
Hugs!

Oh Wigging waiting for u. Glad everything went so well, but now this coming Friday ur getting another operation. OK, I'm glad they waited so u would be a little healed, that's always good. We'll be here waiting for u. Make sure u rest well.
Sandy I don't think I'care for pretend wine, LOL I figure it's like decaf, if it's not really going to do anything why bother.
It was kind of quite here today, so napping on and off was a must an so it goes.
Well just thought I'd poop in for a moment, now it longer nap time.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday!Apologies for not pooping in yesterday ayem, got up to heavy fog and black ice conditions so I left really early so I could go slower than usual to get to class. Fortunately, I didn't run into any ice, but the fog sure was thick in spots! Colder today, no fog, should be better driving this ayem.Still going to give myself some extra time, though. Sadie was being silly again last night, she insisted on curling up on the left side of the bed, and then, just as soon as I got comfortable with my re-arranged position, she got up and moved to the usual right side, making me have to re-arrange again!I could swear she was smiling the entire time.First day of class went well, looking forward to day 2.Lively bunch of students to work with!
Goldie--Love the Bah Humbug!Congrats to the son on the new job! I would not be surprised if Sadie does do things just to make me talk about her! She certainly does keep my life interesting. I did apply for a Clinical Manager position last summer, a part time one in the second office I work at, but then that office's census dropped and the staffing dropped at the first office so my "transfer cannot be accommodated at this time." That was in September. I've heard nothing but crickets about that position since then. I have several different kinds of likker, some bottles I've had for years, they all keep just fine on the shelf in the pantry. The only problem I have is struggling to get the bottle caps off when the bottle hasn't been opened for a long time!
I'm Belchie the Slutty Wigger!
Celia--coffee with Chambord?Sounds very interesting!
Illi--LOL!
Jazzy--Nothing like snow for a white Christmas!
Chi--sorry Bob couldn't join you for the party, sounds like it wasn't the greatest fun. Glad the breakfast buffet was an improvement!Do you drink mead often? I do enjoy mead from time to time.
Goldie--hope the Christmas party is fun! Thanks for the non-alcoholic wine review link, I'm going to check that out, just from curiosity.
Wow, that would make ANY Elf Happy!!
Cammy--Oh my, taking calls after taking nighttime meds, that must have been a really bizarre experience! You must do really well on autopilot if everything got taken care of. Better people think you are funny than drugged, I suppose! Hope you figure out a what to get everyone together for Christmas. That can be a challenge with a big family.
LOL @ Monday Lisa!
Chi--so many people do not understand that to get something good you need to spend a little money. The decadent hot chocolate sounds really good, too!
Wigging--So glad you are felling little pain. Sorry about the bruising and the need to delay the implant placement. Good news from the frozen section, praying the rest of the node report is the same. In the meantime, take it easy, rest and recover and keep visiting the lounge.
Silly Sadie is Cocksmack the Horny Wiener Whacker!

Meezo mizzo, I didn't realize we had so many sluts here! We should be ashamed......NAHHHHH! I found that a fun game to play.
Cami oh my, falling asleep while talking to customers, I'm sorry, but that is hilarious! Trying to get the whole family together, is this for Christmas? How many peeps?
Wigging, so glad you feeling well, especially to go back under a week later. I'll have one of the Tenders refill your IV bag with more vodka. Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you are doing.
Sandy, maybe NM can find a wine there that she would like.
NM, Silly Sadie is at it again. She has been and is, such a great companion for you and you for her. I was right, you DID apply for CM postition, I thought so. OH MY, look at Sadies elf name, how funny!
The Xmas party should be fun, will only be from 1-4 and it looks like most will make it. Will get a chance to meet some I have never met before. One couple are new to the hood, the other 2 have been here a long time, but live off a road we don't go down. I'm going to take spinach dip in a bread bowl.

Wigging- so glad to hear from you and that you are on the other side from surgery #1. Sounds like they are making sure your body is ready to accept those implants. Sending you big hugs on this coming friday. Get some rest sister!

I need to vent. So I shoveled snow last Monday and then Thursday and probably shouldn't have, a bit of pain, so much it makes you want to vomit.
So I drink gin....and tonic. Actually it kind of helps.
My boss at work is a very lousy boss, actually she doesn't even 'boss' me. Sends communication through emails, I sit at a desk probably 10 feet away, I get the 'get it writing' thing, but there are things that don't warrant this. I walked in this morning to a pile of boxes on the floor with a note, not addressed to me though, to call our FedEx guy to come get these boxes. So I did, and left a response on the boxes saying that I did. She did not even notice this. We had problems with the software for FedEx and apparently it is fixed, and since I use it, I was not notified that it is working. I feel like I am taking it very personally, or I may be very sensitive. But come on now. The printer is right by my office, when shes gets her printed papers from it, she does it in a way where I don't see her, (like sneaking it) and on top of that she does not even say good morning, mind you I have tried to reach out to her, be the better person, say good morning, etc. She is just a hmmmm...
These people also knew what I went through and not one has asked how I am doing....
So I drink gin.....and tonic. Let go, let God. I guess.
The thing about this is that my husband and I run a business, I am not needed full time as I do the paper work, pay bills, etc and can do that after my full time job. Running your own business and working for someone is so night and day.
Thanks for listening.

Mornin Ladies,
Oh Kim I really like sadie's name u know how I am about certain words and that's one of them.
Yes Lori lots of sluts going on here and I'm not ashamed of any of it, never have been. Oh Lori I was trying to knock it down from a lot of people to about 20, but then I remembered have of everyone can't drive at nite. Oh we're so old and even if we can make or buy appetizers , who the hell is going to serve them and clean up, non of us can stand very long and Marty still has a problem using his arm and Les of course is a mess, so I' LOLing on how the hell can we do this party that I wan t. Oh well
LomLin whenever u want to vent please come in and say whatever u choose. I don't understand how no one kis trying to make things easier for u for a while anyway Sometimes when u go thru all of this useem to act pretty good, so I think people think that, but common sense tells u in some ways u might feel OK but other ways it's horrible and to be treated with such disrespect having this horrendous disease is inexcusable U must be awfully patient not to say anything.
My Boss came over and was here about 2 hrs, and I came back---this is his 2nd office basically when he wants to hide and work quietly so now I'm tired. Soooooo
Hey Jazzy I know ur working hard but it's holiday time so make sure u have ur own time too.

LomLin, gin & tonic? Let go and let Gordon's...
The hot chocolate was Penzey's mix with frothed skim milk, then topped with a shot of decaf espresso. Yum! Something about Hanukkah, potato latkes and winter screams "hot chocolate" to me. I also have Petrossian "pops," which are supposed to be stirred into hot milk. But they melt too slowly. Might try dissolving them in a small amt. of very hot water before adding the hot milk. Bought them when we had lunch at Cafe Petrossian in NYC back in July, and they handed out samples.
Coffee & Chambord? Delicious and quite logical. A few years ago, Nespresso had limited edition capsules: sachertorte (chocolate & apricot), apfelstrudel (self-explanatory) and linzertorte (chocolate & raspberry). Sadly, I'm out of the linzertorte variety and they haven't brought it back. Don't have Chambord, but I do have some Fragola, a strawberry liqueur with tiny wild strawberries floating in it. Mixes quite nicely with prosecco--might see how well it mixes with coffee. Sure it'd be dynamite with cocoa (maybe top with whipped cream and then drizzle Fragola over the cream).
0 -
ChiSandy, oh yes it's Gordons!
I haven't done coffee and Chambord. Love them both, never thought to combine them. Plus whip cream too!

My Sunday morning go to is Coffee (a very strong Cafe Mocha) with Chambord! Also like to add a splash or so to prosecco or champagne. Eagerly awaiting a bottle as one of my CM presents.

So all these delicious drink recipes are making me very envious as I’m in a week wait between BMX and implant surgery...but I’m having ALL THE DRINKS when I’m done with surgery number two and off the pain meds from that! Keep me coming ladies!!
Hugs!

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Hump Day! Last day of this class cycle, I'm going to be sad when it ends. Had my observation/evaluation yesterday, got a good report back. I need to work on stopping the side conversations, but I knew that. I wish I could take Sadie to class with me, but the rules don't allow. And she did the left side/right side of the bed thing again last night.I think she's punishing me for going to work! It's just so funny, though.
Goldie--I like those What is Your (x) Name games! Some of the results are truly hilarious. You remembered good about the CM position. I am lucky that Sadie chose me to be her hooman.
Oh, Boy, do I FEEL NAUGHTY!!That looks soooooo yyuummmmyy!
LomLin--Welcome to the HTL!Feel free to come and vent anytime, and the Tenders will be sure to have a gin and tonic ready and waiting by the time you get to the bar. Your boss sounds like a real loser. The office culture doesn't sound very warm and comfortable. I say keep being the bigger person, and keep modeling good manners and consideration for others.Maybe the others will eventually learn from your example. And keep drinking gin and tonics at the end of the day to celebrate your success in being the better person at work!
Cammy--I thought you'd appreciate Sadie's new name! Maybe you should have an "Everyone's old and feeble" party--everyone brings a munchie food, in a disposable container, serve with paper plates and paper cups, with a big garbage can ready to catch everything when it's done.Everyone puts what they used in the trash when they are done with it, and there's the clean up taken care of!
Chi--oh, my, Fragola in hot chocolate sounds heavenly!Never heard of it before, now I have to go looking for some!
Celia--I've added Chambord to bubbly wine before, that is a really good combo.Who knew so many of us would be Chambord fans!!
Wigging--The Tenders will keep track of all the drinks for you, and line them up when you are ready for them after surgery #2! And we'll all be drinking right along with you!
0 -
Lin, not really sure what to say on the job front, other than enjoy your gin! Let go and let God is a term we have used around here quite a bit. I guess just continue to be the bigger person? And perhaps not go out of your way to do extras? Which really isn't what a good person would do. My husband and I own our own business as well.
Cami, can you all meet at a restraunt? Don't you have a cousin that owns some kind of chicken and waffles place? A food court at a mall? And why does it have to be at night? People working?
NM, I think we are all glad that Sadie chose you, as she brings us joy as well. Side conversations? Just talking with the students, getting side tracked? I do that a lot with customers, and end up being on the phone way longer than I need to!
Wigging, as NM said, we will have the Tenders line em up for ya when you're ready.
Hi C
Ooooh baby, it's cold outside, come on in!
The scenery is so pretty, so I left the picture LARGE.
