Kathy--can't believe you're letting DH get close to a grill again?????  Hopefully, you've moved it off the deck!!!  Taking DH for other eye surgery tomorrow.  Have to be up by 5 am to get ready for the long drive.  This time, not nearly so stressful since we know the routine.   He is very happy with the eyesight in the first eye and is looking forward to the second surgery.

Gorgeous day here today--one of the few that make me realize how much we love this area.  BUT--starting our annual fall invasion of ladybugs.   Anyone else have this problem?   Every year at this time, one room of our house gets infested with ladybugs.   Like hundreds on the ceiling, crawling around, flying, dropping in your hair.   I hate to kill a ladybug, but by next week I will be needing to get the vacuum after them to clean off the ceiling.  It is way bizarre!

Back later for happy hour--oh wait--every hour is happy hour here....so, guess it's time to start drinking!!!

    hugs, junie

Please, no more fires.  Junie, I hope your drive to surgery tomorrow is uneventful.  No investation of ladybugs here.  Rarely see them.  This is happy hour for me.  I am not leaving until the white coats come in.  HunkyD

Edited for bad spelling:  Infestation will and can replace investation.

Kathy let me know about your daughter. If we can't do it this time, we'll find a way another time. How do you do your shrimp on the barbie? I marinate mine in kosher salt and honey, then grill.

Junie, no ladybugs here either. But I would rather have them than some other creepy crawly.

HunkyD, I didn't even catch your typo, until you pointed it out! And if the white coats show up, they better watch out. Ain't no one takin us from the HTL. They will surely have a fight on their hands!

Dee, no wings for you unless their sauceless. But have all the margaritas you want!

Erika, so nice to see you again. We thought we scared our newbies away. We really aren't that bad!

Missing some of our other girls, hope they drop in soon.

I have to finish packing up today.......where is that flask????

    Girls just gotta have fun.....

    Good morning!

Ahh the ladybugs. I had them in an old farm house I used to live in. I called a friend that does exterminating, and he told they weren't really ladybugs. He said they are asian beetles and I would just have to deal with them. They swarm this time of year to find a place to hibernate so I used to just vacuum them up until they quit swarming. Then thye would come out in the spring too! It was frustrating for sure. Lori, I guess I can't have wings unless they are baked! How fun is that? And only BBQ sweet mild sauce. Have a good trip Lori, and good luck with hubbies surgery Junie. Hunky, how long do you have to wear that "gun belt" ? Suup Kathy? Erika and all the rest come out and play!!!!

It is boring here at work today and it is soo nice outside, supposed to be 70 something today :)

Huo Huo to all! Is that right? lol

Hi gals! Yummy dinner last night but ate waaaaaay too much. Lori, not sure how he did the shrimp, but got too blackened for me....your salt & honey sound ono! Better find that LARGE flask and pack it with us in your suitcase....and hope you have a really good trip!!! Check in when you can...maybe can find an internet cafe or even computers at the library.

junie, I know what you mean about the ladybugs. We get a few here...some houses get tons. When I did custom decorating, we had a small farm in the country and didn't get any, but SO many houses in town would be full of ladybugs...and they leave some nasty stuff sometimes. They look so cute, OUTSIDE! Weird, though how they can really infest. Wonder if what we get are the asian beetles, or actually lady bugs? Hope your DH does as well this time, with his other eye! Glad the first eye turned out so well. I would love an "eye lift"....my DH and my mom got theirs covered by ins...depends on how far down your eyelid hangs over I guess. Ah, the pleasures (?) of growing older...

Dee, good try! Actually it is "A Hui Hou"...but maybe we should look up "huo huo"...might actually mean something fun! Hope you are doing okay w/ the waiting for the new tests. Your dr should know that we ALL are waiting along with you.....and all are concerned. Hope this time he (or nurse) lets you know something asap.

Well, no fire (other than in the grill)....yay! But I had tooooooo much wine last night and had a killer headache all night. Should've waited and drank only at the HTL....no headaches there no matter how much we drink. Jaybird, where are you? CAZ, home for awhile now from your last road trip? CasinoGirl, think you might be staying underwater tooooo long...come up and party with us! Happy HumpDay everyone! Nice and sunny here, and will be babysitting 2 g'kids this afternoon. Got a skateboard for 7 yo g'son....now to make sure he STAYS in the driveway with it!

    Aloha Nui Loa,

Hi fellow bar mates! Unpacked my newest witch....soooo cool....about 5' tall and not only talks and has lighted eyes, but "floats" across the floor and spins around....sorta scary. Joins my 6' tall witch that speaks diff things when you walk by. Either can hold a pumpkin, or candy, etc.And finally got one of those candy dishes w/ the hand that grabs your hand and says scary things. Although it goes off randomly....so it scares us as we might turn on another light and that sets it off, so you never know. Weird. Hand feels soooo fleshlike.

Good luck tomorrow junie....know you will be glad to stay put for awhile! And Lori, have safe travels tomorrow!!! We'll miss you here!

Scary that the white coats have found us here.....

    Ciao,

Dee - what's up with your gall bladder???  I have gall stones - fun fun!  I discovered them a few years ago.  I was camping in our RV with my hubby.  I had a major barf attack.  It lasted all night and we were in the middle of nowhere.  I was seriously sick for 3 days and couldn't eat for a week.  My GP had an ultrasound done on my gall bladder and WA-LA...  Gall Stones!!!!  Jackpot!  Lucky me!  I never had them removed.  I'm supposed to be watching what I eat.  I normally do, but have been bad lately!

Hope everything is ok with you!!!!!

*Waving hello to everybody in the HTL*

    Hey Kitty,

I have "sludge" in my GB. So far they haven't seen any stones, but I was told that the sludge is a build up of bile and may include very small stones that they cannot see. I too am trying to watch what I eat, but the food usually wins...LOL Then I will pay with pain or an attack. I am having more tests to see if I can get it out in November. Thanks for asking :) How are you doing?

    Morning ladies,

My last post before heading out to TN. Kathy, the witch sounds really fun. I miss having kids around, epecially at fun holidays like Halloween.

KitKat, glad to see you stopped by. Hope you had a great b-day. We all wished you a Happy Birthday a few pages back, and even had a party! You were MIA! So maybe that means you get to be 39 for another year!

Junie, I hope hubby is doing well. I know you are taking good care of him. Lucky man he is to have you!

Dee, I think the guys in the white coats are our dear Tattie Tenders dressed up for Halloween and you are just wanting them to yourself in that padded room!

Hunky, enjoy your visit with your brother.

I will try and check in if I can. I need to make sure and leave room for you guys in my suitcase! Kathy give me a call if the 30th is going to work out.

Love ya all and going to miss ya's

Lori, Have a GREAT trip! Maybe you can even take "Hunk" in your suitcase so you can be pampered, but still leave the TT's here at the HTL. Of course, we can be in your suitcase too!!! We'll miss ya.... Oh, and I am the kid here!!! I really love Halloween, and love to see the kids costumes when they come to the door...really creative these past few years..... It was harder when my kids were real little, as I had to go around with them and missed seeing the kids at the door. Not sure what I'll suggest DH to wear this year...I have quite a number of costumes we haven't used yet...lol.

    Love ya too,

    Kathy

    Hi Ladies,

I just realized I missed four pages of lounge chat.  Ouch.  I've been very busy since getting back from the road trip trying to catch up and prepare for SIL visit this weekend.  Mom is doing well but bent one of the pins trying to walk on her cast.  I'm pondering a medically induced coma for her or a hot tub full of mango margaritas for me.

Dee,  I'm pretty sure they have medicine for the sludge.  Keep us posted on your next round of tests.  I'm so sorry you have to go through all that.  Your liver spots are probably just wine corks and bottle capsWink.  I'll be thinking about you.

Hunky, I had the strap on bear trap after my capsular contracture and implant replacement.  I had to wear it 4 hours a day.  No matter where I was, I popped that monster off at 239 minutes.  I'm sure it gave people something to talk about.  I hope you're through with it soon.

Junie, sorry about your DH fender bender and your critter's head.  I'm glad the eye surgery is worth it. I so wish you could have sent us some of your recent rain.  At least we're cooling off here.  It's nice to have the windows open again.

Kathy, I love your Dad's little reunion.  I feel creaky enough at 45, I can't imagine being over 90.  I'm trying some new exercises to keep limber (so I can pick up a case of beer well into my golden years).  Your Dad will be my inspiration to keep going with them.  I usually find some excuse to quit.

Lori, I hope I haven't missed you before your trip.  I can't imagine visiting my MIL without alcohol.  Your wedding picture is gorgeous.  What fantastic memories.  I love weddings.  Thanks for sharing yours with us.

Kitty, I can't imagine having to restrict myself to certain foods.  I hope your gall stones are quiet little stow aways.  My visiting SIL has MS, so I've been researching recommended food restrictions.  No alcohol, chocolate, caffeine, gluten, tomatoes, citrus, dairy, etc.  Yuck.

Hello to all the rest.  Sorry I've been AWOL

Here's to Witches, Slapped bitches, and all those Twitches.

Welcome back CAZ!!! Sorry to hear about your mom's pin getting bent...what a dilemna. I vote for the tub full of mango margaritas....maybe for her too....would keep her in one place to heal. Will be thinking about her! Hope you have a nice visit w/ your SIL...sorry to hear about his MS. If we aren't hit with one thing, then its something else.....aaarrrgggghhhh. Anyway, stick around awhile this time, okay???? We have sooo much fun here, as you well know.

DH had misplaced one of the home phones....had to beep to find it....you know where it was???? In his dresser drawer...sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO of course at my dental visit today (they know him as well).....I just HAD to tell them about that (he never fails to give me something to talk about...lol). Will get fitted for something to wear at night....seems I must be grinding my teeth....hmmmm...just MAYBE stress related..lol. Anyway, will get it made next month. Fun,fun!

ChEARS to no thinking and lotsa drinking,

Hi ladies.....good to hear from ya CAZ. Hope you can keep mom down. Also, thanks for giving me inspiration about the strap on.  He didn't tell me only 4 hours, but mine comes off when I think I'm about ready to hang myself with it.  This isn't going to be a long post as I am trying to self medicate.  My brother and wife are here and I haven't spoken with them since before diagnosis.  Cancer is such a tender issue with our family as my older brother died of cancer at 26 years old. I will do much better with a few drinks under my belt (or strap on) LOL!  Hope you gals with gall sludge and stones are watching your diet.  Kathy, I hope your new teeth gaurds help.  Soak them in tequila during the day.  It will keep them bacteria free....E....are you out there by the pool?  I have about time for two more beers before I have to face my music!  Hope someone can join me for a drink!  Here's to witches, slapped bitches, and shi++ing my britches!  HunkyD

HD, Sorry to hear about the cancer probs in your family...I can understand why it is such a sensitive issue. Sorry about your older bro..I am sure you must miss him a lot. Hope your other bro and SIL will end up having a real nice visit there with you. I haven't spoken to my sis since she totally told me off a few years ago and decided I "don't exist"....that really broke up our family. And was harder for me to deal with than abusive husbands! Hope you can get some drinks down real fast!!! I am joining you!!!! Like your idea of tequila soaks for the dental thingies...won't get them till next month though.

    Cheers to reconnecting with family,

Jocks, darlin'  several buckets of ML when you have time.   "Nurse Ratchett" is OFF-DUTY !!!!!!

Huggsss to all with sibling problems...can relate.  Have one sister 8 yrs older than me.   We have not lived near each other since I was 12 and she married......over the years there have been a few periods of closeness, but mostly distance in regards to connectivity.   Now, when she calls and says, Hi, sis--I say, who is this?????   I don't help the problem, do I?

CAZ--glad to see you back and catching up.  Wish I could send you some of our rain--it's rained solidly for last 2 days, nights.   Wish I'd kept track of just how many days of rain we've had this year--it has got be some kind of record.   But, we are having one of the most beautiful fall colors in the trees that we've seen since we've lived here--guess it's all about trade-offs.

Will share a funny story with you guys.....every time we make the drive to the nearest big town (1 hour) we pass this building.  It was intended to be a big bar, fantastic night-spot--THE place to be...we loved it because they decorated the outside and parking lot with huge, fake neon colored palm trees--we watched it being built and thought that looks like a fun place to go........it never opened.....they built it in a DRY COUNTY and will never get a liquor license----and we wonder why there are so many jokes about "Arkansas" !!

...taking my next bucket out to the pool...........

Sorry about your sib probs too. Hope HD had a good visit with bro! Its 2:30 am here...can't sleep..DH thought he had the a/c on, but somehow it didn't come on....these darn hot flashes NEED that cold air!!! Just wanted to say hello and see how everyone is doing... OK,  will try sleeping again....

    Hello Drinking Buds~

I am SO far behind!!  Surprised  I am going to read back and try to catch up this weekend.  I can only imagine what all I've missed!

Lori your wedding picture is GORGEOUS!  Congrats to you my friend!  I know you're on the road right now, but we need to catch up when you get back!

Last month I met up with lizws, who lives in Ponca City, OK.  Hadn't seen her since Pinkstock Aug 07 so it was great seeing her!

My 5 year "cancerversary" was yesterday.  Can't believe it's been five years.  Can't remember CRAP these days, but I remember that day like it was yesterday.

Hope everyone is doing well.  I did go back far enough to see yet another lovely pic of HD - you so crazy girl!  I love it!

Junie - did you poke Bob in the eyes with something and he had to have surgery?

Okay - meeting some folks from the office for Happy Hour, so gotta run.

    Will be back soon Cool

    Cheers,

gonna go see who's by the pool--got my trusty bucket o'beer......huggsss to all!!!
