Oh Miss Gaga, I am sorry to hear of your terrible weather! I think I would rather deal with the cold, as opposed to that darned wind. Lots of vitamin D today for me, it was gorgeous out. We worked out on the town.

NM, your comment "gonna freeze my precious crocrus" tickled my funny bone, for some reason! Maybe too many beers!

Dee, I tried and tried to find a "beefless" firefighter. This was the best I could do. But hey, it's even a BC awareness calendar! Too bad it's 09, I might of ordered one!

All y'all on Daylight Savings, don't forget to Spring Ahead tonight. My clock stays the same, so no worries here of losing an hour!

Hi girlfriends!!! Just got home an hr ago....over 20 hrs of traveling...I am beat! Lori, thanks for saving Pants and Jocks for me tonight....I REALLY need a neck and shoulder massage, and whatever they might think of.... ;)

Love your GaGa look, HD! Very stylish...LOL. Cannot imagine having wind gusts like that with the COLD temps! While in HI, we had gusts up to 50mph one night...and 35-40 other nights. I liked it cause it kept it cool at night...left all the windows open. ANOTHER SURGERY????? Wish he could "tweak" mine and do some lipo on the sides of my boobs!!! When is this new surgery scheduled for???

OK gals, we usually say "firefighters" or "fire crew".....so get some hot firefighter gals in the pic too, for those so inclined. Gotta make everyone happy, don'tcha think?  Oops....Lori posted while I was writing this....glad you found a pic to post!

I am glad to be back among all my drinking buds....was a nice trip, but glad to be home. DH even put up a huge "welcome home" banner, and set my hula monkey (build-a-bear from g'kids when I went to hosp) and a shaggy stuffed dog on a chair holding a welcome home card too! After my parents took me to the airport, and got back home, I called, and my mom was already missing me......awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Glad I didn't overstay my welcome!!!

Hope everyone is doing well tonight, and having a good weekend!! I'll stay home tomorrow to do all the laundry and put some of the tons of stuff I bought away....then off to Tunica on Monday morn! Oh yeah, Dee, I do hope you do well at the casino!!! Keeping my fingers crossed (and toes, and arms, legs, and eyes...lol)!

    Okole Maluna!

Kathy--welcome home!!!   I'd give you a big hug, but damn, you're off to Tunica soon as you can turn around--girl, do you ever slow down?!!!  Sounds like DH was really glad to see you!  (so are we!!!)

NM--I'm seeing a bit of yellow on my daffydils in back yard.  Cold, gray, nasty day here but know that our winter is on its way outta here.   Jaybird--is the re-do finished???  Hoping you can close this chapter and are happy with the end results.   Casino Girl--hope we can keep those friggin' tornados heading north between us!!!  Reading that this might be one of the more "active" seasons....grrrrrrr!

I'm in a grumpy mood so taking my bucket of ML and going to go sulk in a corner!  I'll be feeling more chipper after a couple of buckets!!!

    hugggggssssssss!!

Welcome home K. Hope the boys took good care of you. That was so sweet of DH, Darrell would do something like that. And now Tunica???? Holy Cow. So now we know why you cleaned out the attack! By the way.....that squirrell still around?

Can't have grumpy girls here at The HTL. Junie, hope the bucket helped. Dee I'll join you for some breakfast. How was the Casino Boat? Or is that why you are grumpy?

Woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    Hugs for everyone, Lori

It has been a cold, dreary, not quite raining but it wants to day.  Got the taxes done.  Am totally brain fried, my eyes are tired, nothing good on TV, and had to run around resetting all my clocks this morning.  I am going to hunker down in the hot tub and sop up rasperry martinis until the world looks better.  Is there a springtime version of Bah Humbug?  That's what I feel like today.  And this week coming up is going to a long and difficult one.  Lots of folks going to be unhappy with me by the end of the week.  I am soooo glad spring break is next week!

Sounds to me like everyone needs a big PARTAY to get out of the funk! Let's all gather tonight at the HTL and party like there's no tomorrow. HD, Dee, NM, and others that have to get up early in the morning.....you know there are no hangovers at the HTL, and you will wake up refreshed (do you really believe me??? LOL)! Lets get the TT's working on creating a wonderful party for us to forget all our troubles. Sound good? I'll be there......

Too tired to par-tay here! Cry Bad wx in NY (very strong winds) made 100 or so aircraft divert Saturday night and we were one of them! Went to Atlanta, waited 3 hours for them to find us a hotel, was up about 24 hours by that time then had to drag my tired a** out of bed early this morning so I could get home and not waste the entire day. My job is SO glamorous! (did I mention the guy who puked red wine all over while he was sleeping???)

On the upside, the wx is gorgeous here, I think it's actually finally Spring!!! (or close to anyway)

Yes, the remodel is 99% done (only some trim paint to be finished). I took pics but was too tired/lazy/busy to download then post them. Maybe later this week.....

    Cheers to more daylight! Laughing

Almost Monday! Am I too late for the PAR-TAY? Of course not, that couldn't happen here at The HTL!

NM, I'll try one of those Springtimes, and gonna take with me for a walk in the garden!

Jaybird? Man puking red wine on you while he was sleeping? And what, pray tell, were you doing?    Can't wait to see your pictures of the remodel. Glad you made home safe. Get some well needed rest.

Now we have Grumpy Gaga in the house! Whats wrong with you girl? Time change?

Kathy, are you all rested up and ready for Tunica? Be sure and tell Hunk we all said hello!

    ChEARS to my big EARS!

jaybird, Glad you FINALLY got home safely...what an ordeal. This is funny....I was also in the ATL airport yesterday (Saturday) till almost 6 pm, and I thought how neat it would be if I saw you there. But didn't think you would be in ATL....what a strange coincidence...it would have been neat to have met in person! We probably just missed each other. :(

No Lori, not rested up at all. Didn't want DH to do laundry while I was gone (am I too picky?)...so I did lots of that today, plus opening sooooo many parcels that came, mail, etc. Would like to pack tonight and leave early, but.......

Pretty fancy drinks NM....but I was tired so just had my usual Seagrams/Diet Coke....if more gals show up here I guess I will drink whatever Pants puts in front of me...LOL. Gotta get this partay going!

Spring Ahead and Lose an Hour....does that even make sense????? J/K. Hope everyone is getting cheered up.......

Same goes (to my) big NOSE!

Jaybird--sounds like you are lucky to have made it home at all--that storm really messed up the east coast!    YUK--there is almost nothing worse than a plane puker!!!   I've never thought you attendants had glamorous jobs--you work your butts off!!!

We need to get Jocks and Pants busy planning us a grand St Paddy's Party!!!   Haven't cooked corned beef n' cabbage for ages--that sounds soooo good.   Maybe we'll just go out to eat--be easier!!!

    huggsss to ALL!!!

The weather was so gorgeous this weekend.  I helped my DH dry his truck, cleaned the house with the windows open and even did some yard work!  Had a couple beers with my hubby and made tacos!  I have to cherish the good weather because the 100+ weather is coming soon!

Ohhhhh Kittycat you are making the rest of us look bad!!! Sounds like you did toooooo much work this weekend. Kidding aside,it sounds like you really enjoyed some gorgeous weather!! It is still a bit cold here...so I will go gambling instead!

junie, I LOVE corned beef and cabbage......my mom made it while I was there and it was so yummy. I forget how easy it is to make it. St. Pats day is such fun...a gf and I used to go to Waikiki to a small pub...with our own green food coloring to add to the beer in the clear mugs...that was a blast. Of course what made it a fun place was all the SAILORS that hung out there....LOL. I still need to pack..........

Cheers Ladies! I'm still up/awake, somehow got a 2nd (3rd?) wind, am finishishing up some laundry and decided to have a scotch before bed. Tongue out

Junie, I'll be in Moscow on St. Paddy's Day - they may just celebrate it, but if not I'm sure I'll have a drink anyway! Surprised You'd be surprised at how many 'holidays' are celebrated world-wide.

Kathy, too bad we didn't run into each other - lietrally! You should see me walking down the concourse, I pretty much run people over because I walk so fast! (my short legs sure do know how to move) lol

KK, I LOVE hot weather! Send some my way pleeeeezzzzzeeeeee!

Lori, the guy didn't puke on me but on the seat and on things behind the seat (he kind of let loose between the seats, he was in the front cabin). And, guess who did the partial cleaning up? Yell He slept thru it all (passed-out really) and wasn't aware of the diversion until we were almost in Atlanta and, guess what, his final destination was Atlanta. How lucky can a drunk person get? I have temporarily lost my desire for red wine..... (see scotch comment above)

I'm off for 6 days soon and may just make some corned beef/cabbage/potatoes for the weekend and have some beer along side of it! Here's to everyone being Irish for a day!

I love St. Patrick's Day. I'm Irish, so it's a favorite holiday with my family.  Besides, it's a day about DRINKING!!  Woo-Hoo!  I will be seeing my PS on the 17th.  Hopefully, it's all good news!

So, I have a gripe.... I signed up for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.  I got my team name and sent out info via Facebook. I put up a couple posts about it, sent a message to family and another to friends.  NO ONE signed up for my team.  One of my cousins was nice enough to donate $25.  I know times are tough.  I was just kind of surprised.

Ok - enough about my whining!!!  I need some real wine!!  :)

I have no idea what measurement a "cl" is, I didn't even notice that until after I had copied and posted the recipe.  But since all the measurements are in that what-ever-it-is I just substitute "ounce" for "cl" in my brain and mix away!  Or, rather, instruct Pants to mix away.  Might end up with a pitcher full rather than a glass full, but since when is that a bad thing?  ;)

Good luck in Tunica, Big Nose! Have fun, hope you win BIG this time. When will you be home? I hear you on being picky about laundry. I am like that with all cleaning. I don't think I could have a maid, cuz she would do things the way I do! Darrell had never done laundry in his life, so when I went to Tulsa for 6 weeks, for rads, I had to show him how so he could at least wash socks and undies!

Jaybird, that is disgusting. I see why you are drinking scotch. How did he even get on the plane in that condition? Or did he drink that much while on the plane? And how the hell do you throw up and sleep through it???? 6 days off, wooo hoooooo! I know you are looking forward to that one!

KK, what team name did you end up going with? Sorry no signed up. What do you do in a situation like that? Those 100+ temps will def be there soon. I don't know how you deal with that, you and CAZ. We get close to 100. But woke up to snow on the ground again this morning! WHEN IS IT GOING TO END??? Yell I too am Irish, got my corned beef, cabbage and red taters all ready to cook!

Junie, I hadn't noticed the "cl" until you mentioned it. I was just looking at ingredients! You go out to eat on a holiday? I figured you would be throwing some kind of a big ta-do!

Those having to get up for work this morning, I hope you made it and are adjusting to the time change.

    Slàinte

My friends are the best friends
    Loyal, willing and able.
    Now let's get to drinking!
    All glasses off the table!

    JUST TO BRING A SMILE:

Two fishermen were adrift in their rented boat due to an engine failure. While rummaging through the boat's provisions, one of the men stumbled across an old lamp. Secretly hoping that a genie would appear, he rubbed the lamp vigorously. To the amazement of the castaways, a genie came forth. This particular genie, however, stated that he could only deliver one wish, not the standard three.

Without giving much thought to the matter the man blurted out, "Make the entire ocean into beer!" The genie clapped his hands with a deafening crash, and immediately the entire sea turned into the finest brew ever sampled by mortals.

Simultaneously, the genie vanished. Only the gentle lapping of beer on the hull broke the stillness as the men considered their circumstances.

One man looked disgustedly at the other whose wish had been granted. After a long, tension filled moment, he spoke: "Nice going idiot! Now we're going to have to piss in the boat!"

2.95735296875 cl in 1 ounce, hmm.  I'm going to have to get out one of my syringes to make sure I measure this out correctly!

I knew that number looked familiar!  There's 29.5735296875 mL (milliliters) in one ounce!  Actually, I just use 30 and call it good, but I'm sure that's way too imprecise for most people.

Whatever unit of measure you use, Jocks, I need a large, stiff drink.  It has NOT been a good day at the office, and I'm feeling like a monster.  I love teaching, but I hate mid-term evaluations--almost as much as I hate final evals.  Out of my group of 7 students, one is just plain flunking out, one is going to if she doesn't start doing much better work ASAP, and a couple more have beahvioral issues to be fixed.  Half of them I talked to today, the other half I'll get tomorrow.  One student has already called out for tomorrow, another posted on facebook what a horrible day she's had today.  I feel like it's my fault they aren't doing well, that I'm responsible for ruining their day, if not their dreams.  I keep telling myself they are adults, they knew what was expected, and I can't learn FOR them.  I've been harping on this stuff all semester, and they all seem surprised that it turns up on the evals.  AAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

    WHERE'S MY DRINK??????????????

WARNING:  Cranky person in the hot tub.  Enter at your own risk.

Scootch over cranky NM!   I'm not grumpy any more but I'll sit and soak with ya for a bit.   There is nothing so gut-wrenching as to be in a position to "evaluate" another's learning, performance, etc--I was a supervisor for many years to sometimes as few as 10 people (the good times) to 30 or more (yuk!) and I dreaded that annual eval more than they did.   If I had a really great employee that I would want to give an award to I had to document, document, document every blooming thing!   If an employee was being rated less than satisfactory, man, did I have to document, document, document--and then some!   So glad those days are long behind me--that was the only part of my job that I absolutely hated!  Know how relieved you will be to have this over and done--we'll have a special celebration here at HTL!!!!

Darn it--spring is teasing me...nice one day; crappy the next two; warm breeze; snow flurries--driving me nuttier than usual!  It's enough to drive me to drink!     J  O  C  K  S  !  !  ! !!

fill 'er up please--and bring whatever NM is having cl's of!

bug hugggssss to all.............(Kathy--did I hear KA-CHING a while ago????  Good luck, girl!).

Goldie - funny joke!!!  I went with Lucky Starz. I wanted something to do with Vegas (luck) and I love stars.  Plus, I was thinking I can thank my "lucky stars" that I am a cancer SURVIVOR!  Added the z to be cool (or my attempt to do so).

So, my mom needs a serious drink.  She's been trying to sell her house in Prescott since my dad passed.  She got an offer recently - lower than what she wanted - but she can still move to Vegas and buy something here (good thing in this terrible economy).  Anyway, the inspector came to her house and found some issues.  Sucks!!!  She needs to get out of that house!

KK, I know I thank my Lucky Starz! I think its a great name. Hope your mum gets those issues fixed with her house, and is able to keep the sale. Prescott AZ? We were in Prescott Valley before moving up here to the White Mountains.

Dee, can I have something to mix with my tequilia. Never done a shot, and wussy me probably couldn't handle it and it would be a ta-kill-ya!

Junie, I hear ya on the spring tease. Same here. I sure hope its done snowing. It doesn't stay, but I am tired of it. Temps in the high 20's at nite, and suppose to be 65 today, and 70 tomorrow. I have been working on our greenhouse after dinner. Doing some little things to help insulate it, so we can get a longer growing season. Just need the temps to stay above freezing!
