Yes, Prescott AZ.  She's been there for 15 or so years.  It looks like things are going to be okay with her.  I hope so!  I'd love to have her out here!  :)

I love drinking a good tequila with lemon (particularly meyer lemon).  :)

...'tis a grand and gloriously gloomy day in my neck of the woods.  Perfect day to spend at our local bar, which actually is called, "The Pub"!    Will hoist many drinks in honor of my drinkin' buds!    Bottoms Up, Bitches, indeed (good one, Lori!)

Happy St Paddy's Day to ALL!

Goldie--I am a nurse, I teach nursing.  And right this minute I don't love my job.  However, spring break is next week, and today went better than yesterday, and the hardest part is over for now, so after Pants and/or Jock loads me up with something appropriately green to drink I'll feel much better!

    Erin Go Bragh!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my breast friends here!!! Hope the luck of the Irish has shown on you today....and how nice to get the Happy St. Pat's day wishes from everyone!

"May you have all the happiness
and luck that life can hold-
And at the end of all your rainbows
may you find a pot of gold."

The luck was with us last night...(DH actually is part Irish), and after he hit the $1 machine for $180, I hit the one right next to it for $900....yay! So celebrated with an Irish Coffee with real Irish whisky....and started the day with an Irish Coffee this morning...BUT I forgot to bring my St. Pat's attire...I love this day but totally forgot to take any of that with me. Talked with "hunk" for a bit...he is such "eye candy"! Just got home a few minutes ago, safe and sound. All in all, had a real nice time. Totally FORGOT to stop in at Fitzgerald's Casino...I know they were having a blow-out party all day...giving away green bead necklaces, etc. Maybe they even had green beer! Now to catch up on what you all have been up to! Hey, aren't we having a green St. Pat's Day party tonight??????

    Slainte,

    Kath

Party? HELL YA! Gonna celebrate you getting some of your money back Kathy! That must of been SOOOO exciting.

Daytime weather has been great here, so after work and cooking/eating dinner, I go outside and work.....well its not really work, its stuff I enjoy. I just like being outside.

Junie, hope you had some fun at the "Pub"

NM, hoping you found something "appropriately green" to drink!

    Where is everyone?

!!$$%%**&    &&&$^^#?%#   ^^))&&&& and FFFFFFF....lost my most eloquent drunken post!  Totally sloshed on green beer, beer, and SLIPPERY NIPPLES!!!   Wearing the green beads I won and t-shirt (thank god not a wet t-shirt contest!!)   Wunderfully good corned beef dinner.....ahhhhh, life is good just now and I can sleep it off all day tomorrow if need be!

A bit of a discussion in parking lot as to who was most able to drive home--dh won the coin toss...the friggin' deer that came out of nowhere really slowed him down and sobered us both up pretty quick--we missed the sucker by mere inches!   Love the wild life!

Got asked to dance and got two-stepped through the bar to the ladies room--my requesst because it was a huge necessity.........

    LOL--totally unplanned, fun, fun time!!!

will share a St Pat's celebration from a previous life....a group of friends from work took the day off...breakfast at my house; downtown parade; bar-hopping all afternoon and half the night,,,,I did make it to work the next day.  Feeling somewhat smug about my making it to work, I asked where was C--who was the des driver the night before...and was told that C had called in because she had wrecked her car...and I'm like OMG is she ok????    And, I will never forget the look on this friend's face when he said...."j--YOU were in the car!!"      'nuf said!!!

    bottoms up!!!!

Oh no junie....you really were drunk to not even realize you were in the accident!!!! Glad you were okay back then....and sounds like today you relived some of the wild days of long ago.....LOL! And THANK GOD your DH missed that deer....what a close call. Thats why its soooo much safer to drink here at the HTL....and you can crash on a sofa and not have to drive home. Its amazing you made it through some of those wild escapades....and are still at it!!! Sounds like the "Luck of the Irish" was with you....and glad you had such a fun St. Pat's Day!!!

Lori, not to worry....so far this year we have been ahead on every trip to Tunica...and we have sure been there a lot! Glad you are enjoying the weather....when you finish up, can you come here and help me with my yard??? J/K....I am sure you have tons you are doing there, with your town, etc. Now I have to catch up at home (not gonna happen!), and get my parents place in shape for their trip here in about 3 wks. I realized I have a little area to wallpaper too, after they switched out appliances. Come on, SPRINGTIME!!!

We are off to Phx in the morning. Staying at our favorite place, Embassy Suites. Going to Festival of the West in Scottsdale, and lots of other stuff while in the big city. Have to take advantage of it!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today!

Have a fun trip, Lori! Hope the weather will be really good, sunny and NOT cold. Think of us at the "pau hanas" at the Embassy!!!

Here is a cute link to a song a hawaiian comic did, of the "tsunami" that never materalized....hope some of you will enjoy it.....   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4r_NiseI80 . He also mentions the beach near my dads house (Lanikai). And funny enough, lots of residents DID return all that toilet paper and bottled water they bought! If you go to his website, he also sings about "furlough friday"....to save money and jobs, schools, libraries, businesses are closed on most fridays....I didn't know about that till I went to the library and found it closed...sheesh! The price of paradise.

Happy Thunderous Thursday (or Thrilling Thursday)! Where is our drink of the day? Cheers,

    Kathy

Not only do I enjoy my glass of wine, I also study wine. Don't laugh you can actually get college credit for learning about and, yes, tasting wine! I've even taken a champagne class. When I was first diagnosed, I wanted to know what crime I had committed upon myself that justified the punishment I was about to endure. The only transgressions were wine, though I am not a heavy drinker, and coffee. I told my husband I was giving up both, but when he asked my doctor if that was really necessary the doctor said "moderation" was best and that the advice to never drink is controversial. I keep reading articles that say we shouldn't drink. Then I saw the recently-published edition of "Anticancer" at the bookstore. Dr. David Servan-Schreiber concurs with my doctor that wine has some beneficial attributes and can be enjoyed in moderation. Yay! Bought it for my husband. I cut way back on the caffeine and drink more green tea. I did miss the green beer yesterday as I was in surgery (got the fipples done) so I'm jealous -- it sounds like you guys had a good time.

Hi Gail, Welcome to our drinking lounge!!! Glad you had your fipples done....don't be jealous of our drinking....you can cyber drink here with no consequences! Good idea on the green tea; I keep reading how beneficial it is. Have to keep reminding myself to make it though. I'm not getting "fipples", but going the 3D tattoo route...not till June, can't wait!

    Bottoms Up,

Morning Ladies,  took off work today.  Going to sleep for a few more hours.  KK, greeen hangovers are horrible.  Dee, that picture of the critters is funny.  That straw is enormous.  Looks like my hospital straws.  Yet another sock monkey!  Hmm...they are sure abundant around here.  I'm going to beat everyone to the pool today.  Going to hang out and see whats floatin'.  Have fun on your trip Lori.  Gail, pull up a stool and stay awhile.  This place is like no other.  NM. Your spring break is right around the corner.  Yahooo!  Wahine, Junie, meet me at the pool.  I've decided all work and no play does make Jack a dull boy.  Jaybird, you still smelling new carpet fumes?  Where's E?  Happy Friday!  HD

Dee, I love your new avatar! How come the attic pic only showed up halfway for me? Until HD mentioned the straw and I clicked the pic, did I see there were TWO critters!! Noooooooooooo........I sure hope they have not settled in there...LOL. Really cute though. I agree...Cheers to Cold Beers (do not like the alternative!).

NM, YAY for spring break for you!!! When we went to Tunica, thank God we got there just in time to get the last room, cause even though we had a res, they were turning away others with res...cause of Spring Break there....could not believe Mon night would be jam packed!!! I think parents and g'parents took kids, so kids could play in the indoor pool while adults gambled. I love your recipes. I will try the Friday Mango drink, and also the Frozen Mudslide....Pants will you be a dear and fix those for me? (bats eyelashes at him...LOL).

Joining you in the pool, HD! Hey,don't hog all the floats!!! Glad the floats have drink holders in them...this is the life. Nice you have the day off....enjoy it!!!

Have fun Lori. Junie, aren't you going to join us in the pool? Or is the casino calling your name??? Weather is GAWGEOUS here at the Banana Hammock (is that what our swim up bar is called? I forgot!).....

    Good morning ladies!

Just unlurking for a bit to wish you all a good weekend!

I've been working on not over doing my activities while at the same time cutting back on my narcotics so it's been a quiet week (except for the quick trip to Canada on Tuesday to see my son). Ok, so I'm not really doing very well in the not-over-doing it category!

My husband has horrible allergies and has spent the last two days in bed beside me (oh how I miss the days when we just spent the days in bed! - someone tell me that the libido suppression of chemo will some day go away!) trying to breath. It's a fun time in our house.

I think I'll slip into the hot tub and have a great big glass of Irish cream.

Just working on my April schedule. More Moscow, a Milan and Frankfurt. Have to somehow get out of working Easter weekend!!!

Little Lucy is at the vet today getting her girly parts taken out - ouch! I'll have a drink for her tonight!

Spring has arrived in Chicago! But maybe some snow tomorrow - WTH???

    Cheers!

Eeewwww--not getting in that pool until its cleaned up!   Cute swim cap Hunky!  Enjoy your day off!  I'll pop into the hot tub with connie--just as soon as Jocks fills my bucket.   Lovely day here, also.   Think I've been starved for sunshine.

Jaybird, did you find any green beer in Moscow?    We think we've found someone to paint the interior of our house.   Guess we'll have them do one room and see what it looks like--we're already arguing over colors!!!   Hate to think of the chaos but if left up to the two of us it will never get done!!

Happy Friday, ALL.   Have a great weekend.

Gawd - 64 yesterday, 34 today WITH SNOW!!!

Not hung over (that red wine 'thing' on my flight last week did me in for any real drinking) only had a small amount of Limoncello last night  with a g/f, her and her two kids stayed over so a busy night and busy morning. Just trying to motivate since we went from Spring back to Winter in less than 24 hours!

No, Junie, I didn't find any green beer while in Moscow but there were St. Paddy's Day parades last week and this weekend. I actually slept most of my layover there! Good luck with the painting!

    Cheers!
