    HOPPY EASTER!!!!   (corny, corny, corny!!!)

"Here comes Peter Cocktail, lurching down the bunny trail...."

Hope all have had a great day.   Glad we didn't have any grandkids visiting and hide Easter eggs---would have to weigh them down with rocks.   Really getting some spring winds today--Lori's greenhouse would for sure be on its way to the Atlantic ocean today!

Gotta grab my bucket and make sure that pesky rabbit isn't out in the pool!   Candie said she chased it away and Jocks mentioned something about the buffet tomorrow!!!   J/K!!!

Big hugggssss to all.   Welcome, Bailey--I'll have some wine with you!

    bottoms up!

I am starting Arimidex this week. Do any of you drink wine or alcohol and still drink? I don't want to give up my daily glass or two.

Hi, jak--I did Tamoxifen.....and drank moderately throughout tx--surgery, chemo, rads......lots of occasional glasses of wine thrown into my usual couple of beers a night during tx.   If you have major doubts, check with your dr--some say ok, some don't--you do what makes you happy!   Many pros and many cons as to the alcohol connection to bc..recurrence, etc....I do not think there will be a definitative answer during my lifetime--if ever....hugggssss to you!!!

Missed everyone over the weekend.....sorry! Was just so busy and the weather was just so nice. A little windy here too J, but it was doable. Got half of the tile done and grouted, should be able to finish by the end of next weekend.

Jaybird, sorry had to work and couldn't enjoy Easter with Avery Frown.

We didn't do anything special. Have to take advantage of our weekends home to get things done. I did get to clean all my floors with new steam mop. I absolutely love it.

Kathy, that was so sweet of your DH to bring you flowers. How thoughtful of him.

    Welcome to the new girls.

Its always so hard to catch up when I don't post for a couple of days. Junie, that is funny about calling your DH Jocks! Would he have a clue???

I'm late on our daily drink special, but think I would like to try NM's Golden Sunrise, sounds yummy! PANTS!!!!!

    Happy Monday, Lori

Jakhope, I'm switching from Tamoxifen to Arimidex this week (or whenever the drugs show up). I don't drink but I'm wondering if there are any side effects that we should know about that they didn't tell us - have any of you changed drugs like that?

I'm going to have to go see my primary Dr this week sometime...my feet are swelling for no apparent reason. Not very comfortable and none of my shoes fit.

Last week someone mentioned they are online shopoholics and they don't pay for shipping either direction...what stores do you shop at? You can PM me with the answer if you don't want to clutter the poolside.

My memory is starting to go, did I tell you ladies that my next surgery is May 11? I'm looking forward to that being done! I do have a question, though, for anyone who has had reconstruction surgery - did you nipple or not and why?

    Off to be productive!

Hello dear drinking buddies - haven't been around much lately, so grabbing a drink from the bar to make it to the pool - something fruity like a raspberry martini or something sounds good.

Hi BaileyCan and Connie - nice to see you. Sorry I've been sober the past few weeks. Did I miss a party?? D***, I hate that.  Hope everyone behaved inasmuch as we're all able!

Native, would you be willing to send me your recipe for lamb? I've never tried to cook it, and hubby would love some -would like to surprise him sometime.

HD - how was the dentist? Maybe we can find some sillystraws if you need any more..

Dee - sorry to hear about the allergies and pain. Hope you get some relief all around, and soon.

I'm 9 wks post-exchange and am finally feeling a little more human, with a little bit of "drop" in the implants. Made a big Easter dinner yesterday and all the family came in, it was a lovely day. And I'm looking forward to more good weather, right Dee?

Yes, thank you, I'll have another raspbetini. Hope everyone is wonderful! Cheers! xo, E

Jak--I've been on arimidex for 3 years, and drinking a glass of wine several times a week, a mixed drink or two from time to time and have no ill effects.  Even if I did, I'm not giving up EVERYTHING to the beast because then life wouldn't be worth living!

Dee--the mudslide looks soooo yummy!  Tenders, Wenches--I want TWO!

goldie--glad you had a good weekend!  Getting outside in the good weather is soo important!  Sounds like you are making good progress on the tile and grout project--good for you!

Connie--I switched from tamox to arimidex 3 years ago.  The changes I noticed were the beginning of hot flashes, a significant decrease in joint and bone pain and a HUGE lightening of depression.  Frankly, the hot flashes are a fair trade for losing the debilitating depression for mem so much so that I was willing to put up with lurpon shots every 4 months, and I am seriously needle phobic!  I'm sure you will do just fine.

GrakenMom--do you have a slow cooker or crock pot?  I put the leg of lamb in the slow cooker, fattiest side up, put it on low, and it's ready to eat in about 6 hours or so.  I use the slow cooker because it is so forgiving--you can check the temperature to make sure it's done if you need to but if you don't get to it for a while the meat stays moist and tender.  If you are avoiding fat you will want to take the meat out of the hot juices, which will have quite a bit of fat, and let it drip off for a while.  I put the meat in a collander and suspend it over the slow cooker so it stays hot and the fat drains into the cooker.  I use that liquid, after defatting, for stew base.  I use a collander because the meat is so tender it's hard to pick up in one peice.  I usually fish out the bone, then scoop out the meat with a big slotted spoon.  I use this method for lots of meats, and whole roasting chickens with great success.  Put the meat on to cook in the am, ready to eat when I get home from work!

wahine--I could have soooo used the help of something like cleaning for a reason when I was in rads.  One thing I found out very quickly is that most help is tied to chemo, and since I wouldn't do chemo, I found no practical help from anywhere.  Oh, well, now I don't need it and I hope some other woman DOES benefit from it!

Ok, where are my mudslides?  Oh, yes, there it is, right at my elbow.  Yum, that tastes very, very good.  I think I'll just take it over to the hot tub and soak my tired, sore footsies.  I think I've got plantar fasciitis in one foot; the heel hurts sooo bad when I first start to walk on it after sitting a while.  I'm hoping some heat will help the pain.  I've got to remember to get my massage therapist to work on that foot at my next session.

I don't know what galliano is, but that Full Monty just looks really refreshing!

No tiling for me yesterday, it was super windy. We open the door to the green house, so it doesn't get too hot in there, so it was full of dirt and I really didn't feel like cleaning it! But I did see my first hummingbird yesterday! We call them "our kids". So....the "kids" are back!

KK, let us know what you decide on for your anniversary, and when is it? Sounds like it might be the 17th of something?

Connie, remind us again when your surgery date gets closer, as our minds have already GONE! We will want to be there with you!

I go in a couple weeks for my routine tests. CT and Bone scans this trip. Hate when these roll around. But....going to think positive, not worry about it (at least not too much) and assume that everything is going to come out normal.

Think I'll head into the casino with my Full Monty and maybe I can hit the Full Monty!

WOW...Full Monty today, huh! I used to like galliano in Harvey Wallbangers....so I guess I could have the TT's just add OJ to mine, then instead of calling it a Wallbanger, I could call it a 'Orange Full Monty'..LOL. Lori, Galliano is an anise/licorice flavor....I like it in the wallbanger, but not sure I would like it with just vodka added, as I am not a big licorice fan.  But Dee, I LOVE that you are giving us a daily drink....such fun to see...better than a boring calendar to know what day it is! Good luck in the casino, Lori!

Gorgeous sunny day here again today....so strange to be in the 80's when it was soooo cold a few days ago. I must've blinked and missed "Spring". Trying to clean and organize b4 my parents arrive on Saturday......luckily not to much to do to their townhouse....stays pretty clean since its closed up.....just have to refresh it. So thankful they can still travel here!!! And they bring their bottles of likker with them as its much cheaper in HI than in AL....go figure! I hope all you gals will have a Terrific Tuesday.....and lots of Full Monty's........

    Aloha,

    Kathy

I'll take a Full Monty! I'm really sore today because last night I couldn't stand the condition of my house anymore and decided to do (ugg) housework! Mopping was never my favorite chore but now it actually hurts me. I cleaned out the refrigerators (ick) and pantry shelves too - lots of lifting and arm-swinging Then I decided to study for the rest of the night. So technically, it's not to early for a drink as I am in the 27th hour of Monday!

    Good morning ladies!

We had a productive day yesterday and another one today. I might slip out and go shopping before the end of the day, though.

NM I already get hot flashes so if that's the biggest side affect of A then I'm ready for it!

Welcome to the club,  Bailey. I'm sure you'll find lots to do and many to keep you company.

Wahine, I'll reply to your PM soon!

I will definitely let you know when the surgery is closer to it, I'm excited with the idea of having it done!!

Off to be productive some more.

    Good afternoon, all,

just dropping in to say a quick Hi to every one.  I'm feeling crappy, called out sick from work today. Last time I felt like this I found out later I had an ulcer. So I better lay off the alcohol for a while until all this settles out, but I'm going to find a comfy lounge near the pool and take another nap.  The Full Monty looks absolutely luscious, I'm definately going to try one later when my tummy is happier with me!

Spring has sprung!!!   Everything has greened up literally overnight--redwoods and dogwoods in full bloom!   And, this may be worst allergy spring I've known--totally miserable!   Starting to get the dreaded yellow pine pollen!  BUT--Lori, think "my kids" are back, too.   Got to get those feeders out and filled up--I love Hummingbirds.   And, fingers crossed that the step-children of the Hummingbirds are back, too.     BATS!!!    As long as they don't find a way to roost and multiply in the attic and "guano" all over everything, I love to watch them at dusk as they swoop and dart through the back yard eating skeeters and other nasty insects.   I'll be watching for them later this evening, but as soon as it gets dark, heading out to the pool.  Called Jocks and he will have my bucket iced and ready!!!   See y'all there!

    hugggsssss!

It is very odd Tuesday for me.  I found out that a coworker of mine is pregnant.  She confided in me but hasn't told her boss yet.  Then, I went to the gyn onco and was told that I should really consider getting a hysterectomy.  Wow!  I don't have kids and I'm 40.  I have to decide right now to have a baby or never have a baby.  I wasn't planning on having children, but the whole thought of this was overwhelming.  When is this stupid cancer thing going to end???  At least I don't show signs of ovarian cancer, but I have a clear cyst and the BRCA1 gene.  I have to make a decision very soon!

I need a tall glass of wine or maybe something stronger!!!!!!

Hugggsss, Heath!!!  (have always thought that to be such an aristrocratic, noble name!!).   Sorry to hear that you need to make a decision on something so important.   I'm glad MotherFC knocked on my door long after those decisions were an issue.   Any chance of harvesting your eggs for future use and having the surgery now?  Know nothing about all that, but seems like many things are possible these days.....

Most definitely headed to the pool with TWO buckets.   The "bat" was back tonight and I got so excited to see it swooping around.  DH is muttering something about committed--don't think he's talking about our marriage!!!   Best to go hide out for a bit!!!

Kitty, I am sorry you feel pushed on making such a drastic choice.  That is such a monster on your shoulders.  You have a strong relationship with hubby I am guessing.  You both will decide what you want to face.  I refuse to call you Heath.  If I end up having the ooph that is on my itinerary, you could call me Hunk though!  LOL!  Heath and Hunk!  That wouldn't be right either.  We all do what we have to do, or what feels right anyway.  Have a tall glass of vino....Hunky is thinking about ya!  Good thoughts.
