Heather, I'm very sorry you feel rushed in your decision. Is there a reason that it has to be rushed? I was told last fall that I needed one because of a gene mutation (MLH1) and they did the surgery in February. I'm thinking that if things are healthy right now for you there is a window of time in which to sit down and reflect and make a decision good for you.

Kitty, I agree, take your time and make sure you are making the right decision for you. I had already had a hysterectomy before BC, so I did not have to make the tough choice a lot of you are having to make. NM, I hope you get to feeling better soon, I hate tummy troubles! Junie, I will join you and HD 'cause I also have bats in my belfry too...lol  Haven't seen any hummingbirds yet though. I have these darn grackles that are eating all the bird seed and chasing off the cardinals..darn grackles! Spring is finally here and we had a doozy of a storm last night with hail balls, rain, and high winds. Glad we didn't lose the electricity! I can't sleep tonight, I'm having major anxiety, no idea why either. Oh well, we all have our bad nights eh? Y'all have a good night and I'll TTYL :)

    HUGS and no bed bugs!

Well I figured since I was up, I would go ahead and post the drink "O" the day!

Lets just have WINE Wednesday. For those of us that like wine or just need to whine! :)

NM I added a maple wine just for you, I know you will share :)

For me, having a hysterectomy wasn't a hard choice. I've had all the children I'm planning on, I'm on the far north side of 40 and the other pluses far out-weighed - wait, I can't think of any negatives for me. Having the hysterectomy was easier by far than having the mastectomy.

I have an ovarian cyst that is 4.5 cm in diameter.  My OBGYN said it should be removed or drained.  So, then the thought of the hysterectomy came up since I'm BRCA1+.  She sent me to the specialist (gyn onco) who highly recommended I get a hysterectomy.  Since I have no children and I'm 40, I have to make a decision to have a baby or have the hysterectomy.  My hubby and I are going to the OBGYN this Friday to see what she says.

    Hi fellow lounge lizards,

I am EXTREMELY sad about the problems facing some of you, esp kittycat....that is such a hard decision for you and your husband to make. Come here when you need to chill out and forget about your troubles for a bit. Will be thinking of you on Friday!

In honor of  "Wine (or whine) Wednesday", I put up a wine decal above the wide doorway leading from my kitchen to family room (right near the bar!). I just took a pic of it....here 'tis..... It actually looks better in real life though! Bottoms Up!

NM, SO sorry about your stomach trouble! But I'm sure we can pick-up your share of drinking! Wink

KC, I hear you on the kid thing. I tried and tried and tried to get pg my entire life no avail and when my chemo nurse announced that I was in menopause (chemopause in reality) I was devastated! She said it in such a cheery way that it almost seemed a crime to yell at her so I just cried. So due to BC I couldn't do anything extraordinary to get pg and my dreams of motherhood were over at age 45. BUT one day I had an epithany/revalation/brain fart/whatever and decided to adopt and I now have my beautiful (and she is!) 3 1/2 year old daughter. I wish you luck with your decision(s). BC seems to make just about everything in our lives harder. Frown

I had some red wine last night and just didn't like it. I have lost my taste for it which is VERY strange. I'm okay with sweet white wine though which I never really liked before. Maybe it's a menopause thing? I'm okay with scotch, too, although I'm tired of the cheap(er) stuff and have splurged on my fave JW Blue Label (because I work so hard and deserve it, ha ha).

Am off to Moscow tomorrow then home for only ONE day then do a 6-day double crossing to Frankfurt and Detroit. I'll definitely be bringing home some beer from Germany - yum!

Spring has sprung here, too, and everything is GREEN now due to all the rain we've had this week. Unfortunately we have a lot of mud now too so it's a constant battle with muddy paws.

    Cheers to all!

The Tequila Sunrise looks so tempting this morning!  Gonna pass for now, tummy is happy again now that I'm on double dose of prilosec, but I'm going to baby it for a while longer before tasting the drinks again just to be sure.  I also slept pretty darn close to 40 hours out of the last 48, so I guess I got over tired somehow, or was fighting off something.  Anyway, I feel fine today, good thing since I'm being evaluated at work today!  Arrgghh!  Oh well, such is life.

    Wahine--GREAT SIGN!!!!!!!!!

KK, I echo what everyone else has said and so sorry you are forced to make such an important dicision so fast. Would a second opinion be worth it? And Jaybirds little girl is a sweetie for sure. Cute as can be. I think we all feel like her Auntie!

NM, glad you are feeling better, good luck on your evaluation.

    Connie, how are you doing?

HunkyD, I think Junie is affraid you are pee in the pool........LMAO!

Kathy, love your sign! Mom and Dad will be here soon! I still can't get over those two. Doing all they do at their age. AMAZING! I bet you are really getting excited. What day do they arrive?

17 degrees here this morning, with the wind chill! Can you believe it? I think this is the last of temps falling below freezing for a spell, but could still happen. In the years I have had my fruit trees, about 5 maybe, I have only gotten fruit 1 time. We always seem to get a freeze after it blossoms and kills all the fruit. I have a peach tree, and the year we got peaches.....OH MAN were they yummy. Someone told me to put Xmas lights on them if there is a threat of a freeze, so I am gonna try that this year. Heading to town today, so we have more time tomorrow to work outside in the green house and finish up the tile.

ROFL.....good deduction AStorm!!! Sounds like a breakfast drink to me too....along with Mimosas. Surely they're healthy too!

NM, Glad you're feeling better, and best of luck with your evaluation! You must have been totally wiped out to be able to sleep that long...and must have needed it.

Lori, Yes, my parents arrive on Saturday...can't wait. And VERY thankful they are so healthy and can make that long overnight trip to get here. My Dad will be here for 4 wks, and my Mom for 6 wks. Getting their cable, phone, newspaper service, etc hooked up, and just got their place all freshened up. Thanks for asking! Re your fruit trees....that really sucks that the cold temps cause you to not have fruit. They grow peaches here, and when a freeze is expected after the blooms are on, they do use heat sometimes. I wonder if the christmas lights would get warm enough though? Good luck with your tiling....that will look so good when you are finished!!!

kittycat, Nice of jaybird to chime in about adoption...she DOES have an adorable daughter...so that could be an option for you, and I am sure she could give you advice if you decide to go in that direction. Still a very hard decision, one that you and your DH will be making together. Let us know how the appt tomorrow goes. I was "lucky" (?) like some of the others here...had my hysterectomy b4 getting bc, and AFTER having my girls and losing my husband. Just a few months after losing hubby, so the hyster was a piece of cake, considering what else was going on in my life. Actually I enjoyed being told to rest for a couple of days at home, and let the girls wait on me....we had horses, etc to care for. BUT then I felt good and went shopping with a gf who came in from out of town....and ended up in the ER...didn't realize shopping could do that!!! In hindsight, my GYN should NOT have done the hyster, as I had fibroids that were not causing any probs....and put me in an early menopause...found out later most fibroids dissolve on their own. Very different from your cyst though...and I am glad that nowadays they do not automatically do a hyster unless it is really needed!

    Happy (Tequila) Sunrise Everyone!!!!

Dee--LOL  at BOTH pics!! I love fuzzy navels, haven't had one in ages and ages!  Hmm, good excuse to go to the grocery store, need some OJ and some milk, no reason I can't wander down the likker aisle and pick up a cheap bottle.

Thanks to all for the well-wishes.  I can't beleive how much I slept on Tues and Wed, but I felt fine yesterday and again today. I've been trying very hard to get enough sleep and eat well so that I wouldn't get sick this winter so I'm a bit surprised to have this happen.  On the other hand, whatever i was brewing my system managed to throw off.  I guess sleeping away 2 days is a small price for not actually getting sick.  I think my eval went well--I'll get details next Thursday, but the faculty person evaluting me is a freind and mentor as well as a colleague.  I know I'll get some good advice and actually look forward to the meeting.  She has years and years of experience and is a highly respected professor and I am working to become as good a teacher as she is.  It's funny, usually I dread evaluations but now I'm actually looking forward to the feedback.  It was a tad uncomfortable to see her taking notes during my lecture, but I got used to it.

OK, I just realized that I'm rambling on and on and totally off topic.  Thanks for letting me ramble, and everyone enjoy FRIDAY!

Darn it Dee.....did you really have to take a picture of me as soon as I roll out of bed!

Well, we are done with our interviews. Here are our Wenches. We ended with 3. The one with the roller skates begged and begged, said she would even just settle to fill in if someone gets sick or is sent off to work one on one with someone who needs it, during times of surgery or help out with any of our BIG Par-Tays!. We just need a name for her! And too, as Junie pointed out, she will be quick with those roller skates!

Kathy, sending up some prayers that mom and dad have a safe flight.

    Morning all.....

YAY...I haven't had a fuzzy navel in awhile either.....yummmmmmmm! Thanks Dee! Lori, how about we call her "Honey" or "Sweetie"? Silly names, but was trying to think of another "sweet" name, since we already have Candie and Sugar. Maybe someone else can come up with something.....

Now that we have a full house of Tattie Tenders and Wenches, we can throw many more fantastic parties! I mean, if we don't keep them ALL busy, who knows what mischief they will come up with when we aren't there....LOL.

    Thanks for the prayers Lori!!!

Sounds like another great party AStorm....can we let you be in charge of planning that one? All you have to do is set the date actually....and remind us all....the TT's and Wenches will do all the work (but let them know anything special you want, like live bands, etc). Of course, we may have to have a few parties before May 5th....LOL. Isn't this place heavenly!

I love this bar!  I will certainly be happy to chit chat with anyone who joins me tonight at this lounge. I think I am going to throw my bottle caps out on the ground and see how good that roller skating wench is on her wheels......LOL!  Just kidding!  I am glad to have so much service.  I just don't seem to get that kind of attention at home.  Hope everyone will enjoy their weekend.  We still are in high wind weather, so no outdoor fun for me.  Not much time to talk...the wench on wheels is speedy with the buckets of beer.  She brought two...guess it has something to do with balance!  Love and hugs to ya all...HD!  P.S.  Let's not wait until May 5th for a party!

Hey, Hunky--raining here in Maine this evening.  Very chilly and gloomy and getting windy.   I'm headed for the hot tub, gonna order one of everything that's been on the Drink of the Day list for the last week or so.  Got some catching up to do.  Wow, here they are already!  The rollerskating wench really is fast on her feet, isn't she?

Happy, happy TGIF!!   Dee, thanks so much for our daily drink!  That's the FIRST thing I check for every morning and it gets me thirstier earlier each day!

I cannot come up with a clever name for the roller derby drink bearer--think I'll just call her "Skate".    Im so used to hollaring for Jocks or Pants--nice to know there are more hands on deck to see to filling up my buckets!!!

My 1,000 daffodils are faded and just about gone, but my 100's of Iris' are getting ready to bud out.  Whoever landscaped this yard did such a great job--too bad I don't know anything about gardening!!   The friggin' pine pollen is in full force--deck and outdoor furniture covered with the crappy stuff!   Nose all stuffy and feel like crap!

There are now 3 bats circling at dusk.   They are so interesting to watch!  Seems early for them to be hanging around, not many insects out and about just yet.  Love to watch them as long as I'm inside.  I did bring one into the house a couple years ago--it was nested under a bird feeder that I'd brought inside to refill.   I thought it was a wet leaf until it plopped on the counter and spread its' wings out--think that may have been the most blood-curdling scream I've ever done.  LOL--THAT was a test of how well DH's heart stents were functioning!!!

Think we will have a few more days of sunny, lovely weather before storms roll in...planning a drive around tomorrow, the dogwoods and red buds are in full bloom.   Temps are cool, but the sunshine is great!

Think I'll give the guys and gals a break tonight and just sit quietly at the bar and sip my ML slowly.  Jocks, another round for my friends!!!!

Junie--I think I may have heard that scream here in Maine!  LOL!  And I'm not laughing at you, but laughing because your experience reminds me of my mother's reaction to bats even when she is inside and the bats are outside.  Not that I wouldn't react the same way to a bat in MY house, I know my screetch statled the neighbors the evening a bat flew down the hall toward my bedroom!  Fortuantely I could open the windows and shut the bedroom door and the bat found it's way outside after a while.  Boy did I need a drink THAT evening!

iHEARTu--hope you are having a good morning.  One good thing about the TaTa Lounge--the drinks may cause deep sleep in odd places -I once fell asleep in the pool in a floaty--but they NEVER cause hangovers, ever.  It's one of the benes of being admitted to this exclusive lounge.  Wink

Oh Junie, I feel for ya and the allergies. Mine are pretty much done, just a sneeze here and there. Your flowers sound wonderful and those are pretty much things you don't have to to anything with! Although the irises could be devided and most likely at some point, will NEED to be. So if you ever do that, you can send me some! We have bats too, but I haven't seen any yet and have never had them in the house......YIKES!

    Welcome iHEART

Tile is all laid. Finishing the up with the grout today and sealer tomorrow. Weather is BEAUTIFUL this weekend. Not too windy, sunny and low 70's. Doesn't get much more perfect than that.

K, hope mom and dad arrive safely. Have fun and enjoy! I know you will.

Lori, Mom and Dad arrived safely about an hour ago. I don't know how she does it, but my mom always looks so fresh and neat after traveling all night....better than I do when I start out! Thanks so much for your concern. Glad the tiling is DONE....hope the grouting goes well too....sealing is the easy part. Nice you did it before it gets HOT!!!

EEECCCCKKKKKKK I would have screamed bloody murder too if a bat got in my house!!!! When we had a farm, our house overlooked the barn (on a hill) and at night we could sit on the upstairs deck and see the bats circling around the big light on the front of the barn. THAT distance I could handle! Any closer than that...no way jose!

Well, looks like a nice day at the Hot Tatties Lounge....maybe the wenches should gather up more pool floats for us as it may get crowded today! Dee. HELP....don't know what I should drink today!!! And the roller chick keeps waiting for me to place my order....LOL.

    ChEARS all,

    Kathy
