NM, Perfect....just perfect!!! I think your "Absoutely Bananas" drink sums up everyones week! ROFLMAO with your perfect drink!!!

junie, SInce I had my crown put back in, maybe I should be the first one to try out your new "throne"...LOL. Has to be awfully hectic with trying to do so much at once, but since you have help there, I think you are smart to have them do as much as possible. SO GLAD the shower turned out to be a good decision, and that it looks great. Best of luck with the rest of it!

My Dad still is not doing well, so everyone's prayers are very appreciated. So many tests next week, but apparently no results till the 16th??? I worry about my mom having to deal with all of that stress, and now she has lost her appetite, so I keep reminding her to keep her health up. Hard to believe she left here just 2 wks ago today, and he left 4 wks ago....healthy as an ox. So thankful to have had that nice long visit with them, though. Thanks gals, for your concern!

Dee, Still hoping you can poke your head in soon, and let us know how you are doing. And I am very concerned about your mom too....praying that things will turn around and you both will be healthy again real soon!

Well, I am going absolutely bananas, so Pants, can you put a few pitchers of that on a wheeled cart, and just wheel it over to the lounge chairs? I think several of us might just plop down by the pool for a well deserved relaxing day! Oh, and Jocks, PULEEZ get junie some bigger buckets so you can fit more iced ML's in them....with all that work being done at her home, she really can use them!

    To the Banana Hammock!

Junie, Hang in there, you'll love it once it's all done. We did a kitchen remodel several years ago that ran into every possible problem you can imagine including the granite guy going out of business while we were on vacation in Europe (I was savvy enough to get the counter tops installed prior to departure as I did not trust him). Every time DH talks about maybe moving maybe someday I tell him I'm notleaving my kitchen!

Oh, NM as usual you hit the nail on its proverbial head! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! The holy terror is taking her SAT right now but she'll be home soon and probably in a bad mood. I'll take a bucket of liquid banana please!

Jocks, Pants, there's a sale on brand spanking new 30 gallon trash cans--may I suggest you get several?  A few for Junie's bottles and some to put in storage for later use since some of our partays get a little rowdy. . .

Hope everyone had a really nice Sunday! Quite hot here, but we got a lot of work done outside...came in so hot...had to jump in the shower before heading out to the HTL. Think I'll join junie and start Pau Hana a bit early today. Also want to try out the new ski boat on our lake here (at HTL).....could get Pants to drive, then no worries about drinking! Who wants to join me? Last one in is a ...........

I'll certainly pass on the skiing. The one and only time I tried was in 2002 ! I can't imagine why I thought it was a good idea but I did. We were staying up at a beautiful lake in N.C. and the hotel had a ski boat. I signed up. Well the guy who came out to drive the boat looked all of about 12. I should have stopped there but nope. We went out and I got into the lake and tried unsuccessfully several times - don't remember exactly and my sister was madly clicking embarrassing pictures. Well then all of a sudden I got up and I wasn't prepared for how hard it pulls on your arms and hands and I guess I was surprised by it and didn't pay attention to my legs. All of a sudden horrible horrible pain. I had torn my hamstring and I mean torn! It was weeks before it healed and I was purple a all the way down my leg. So, I'll watch and cheer you younger ones and experienced ones on and stick to relaxing on the dock in a hammock with pillows and some giant lovely rum drink and good book. Happy Sunday.

Just dropped off my child for spend the night camp (2nd year). It is only for 11 days but still hard to see him go. My other son leaves on Wed..... then it will be just my daughter and me!

I'll sit in the boat with Stanzie and will rely on it for fast transport around the HTL!   Never mastered water skiing, but did snow ski for some years--until I hit ice, fell, was hauled down mountain by ski patrol in a bodybag sled, and ended up with a concussion!    Have fond memories of those days, but after that,  was never willing to risk a more serious injury....hard to send your kids off to camp, but they will have a great time--if you're like me, the experience will be harder on you than it is on them!   My son (at age 6--years ago...) returned from his 1st week-long camp.  Unpacking his horrid, smelly suitcase (think I threw away half his clothes...) I asked him--"what is this big pin on your swim trunks?"   son--"oh, that's so the lifeguards knew I could swim in deep water."   me--confused..."but you don't know how to swim yet."   son--"I do now!!!"   Wish I knew the whole story behind that episode, but from that time on, son was a virtual fish in the water!

WOW!!  I spy a trash can filled with icy-cold MLs--Yay!!!  Heading back out to the pool!    Looking forward to a Mahhhhvelous Monday for everyone!!!

I got my port placement on Friday.  One of my friends asked me if it was a USB port (he was kidding).  I had to laugh.  Now I do the port (robot) dance.  LOL!  My skin had an odd reaction to the adhesive plastic they put over the wounds.  I developed some blisters because it was pulling on the skin on my neck.  Ouch!  That hurt worse than the port, which I can barely feel now.

Well, I'm nursing an Irish Flu today.  LOL!  We went to a friend's party yesterday.  It is so hot here (109 today), so the margaritas, jello shots and beers were going down really fast.  And I didn't eat much, oops!!!  We ventured out today for a Big Mac and fries and McD's (greasy food rocks for a hangover).  Then to Home Depot to buy some stuff to make our house chemo ready.

Junie - We have so many house projects we should start.  One would be painting our master bath.  We've lived here 6 years and the paint is still not done in our bathroom!   Good thing is my hubby can tackle some of our projects while I'm resting from chemo.

Wahine - I hope your dad gets better.  That sucks to see someone you love go through something so terrible.

Dee - I hope your mom is doing okay!

Beanius -  I'm glad I'm not the only one that has pre-chemo brain.  I keep finding myself doing the dumbest things.  I went into the laundry room today to find the dryer open and I forgot to put the wet clothes in there.  :)  Keep me posted on your chemo.  I'll let you know how the first one goes for me!

Mahvahlous Monday to all!  Seems we have a quite a lake added to the lounge.  I've never learned to water ski, always wanted to but never had the chance.  I spoke with the Tenders who say the tubes and bananas for us to ride behind the boat will be delivered this morning.  And the landing for the kayaks and canoes will be finished by the end of the day.  And since we are our own little world, that means we are our own little country, so NO FISHING LICENCE REQUIRED!!!!

    For today's drink, how about

    Shakin' Blue Monday

    1 tsp Brandy
    1/2 oz Blush Wine
    1 1/2 oz Canadian Whiskey
    1/2 oz Lemon Juice
    1 tsp Superfine Sugar

    Directions
Add the whisky, blueberry brandy, brandy, lemon juice and sugar to a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes. Garnish with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry.

NM, Wow...never had a drink b4 that had brandy, whisky and wine all together! Looks soooo pretty, so can't be that potent, right?? LOL. Guess we'll have a whole lotta shakin going on today!

Well, gotta confess.....I haven't waterskiied in YEARS! Used to waterski in the ocean, and when you would ski outside of the wake, you would be battling swells and small waves. It was fun though, and at that time, no worry of sharks, etc., so was ok to fall waaaay out. But my late DH and I had a ski boat that we just used to cruise the river with....nice speed to it! So I was really thinking of just speeding in the lake! But those tubes and bananas to ride behind the boat with sound like fun! When my girls were little, we used to go to the Tennessee River a lot....one time we told them to jump in, as we had stopped for a bit, and the water wasn't too deep. Well, I didn't see all the hydrilla (sp?)....aquatic plants that have taken over the river...and they wrapped around their legs...yikes! Was hard to pull them back into the boat, with those plants gripping them. Scared them too!!! Used to only worry about snakes, but now the hydrilla is a PIA also. At least in the ocean we didn't have snakes OR hydrilla...and could usually see thru the water.

Lori, Are you back home yet? Hope your trip was fun...haven't heard from you in awhile!

Whole Lotta Shakin in the Blue Skiboat,

    Kathy

Also I'm back off to the surgeon to see if JP can go home. It's a 3 hr drive each way...Anyway, I hope you are all well and would like to catch up this week. All my best wishes, Beans

Kittycat,  good luck with yours. Try not to overdo it during your treatments!

To everyone else who is water skiing or just watching, drink safely!

Back to working on the house and shop! Will make a web page of the projects we've been doing soon.

Gosh I'd love to help decorate other people's house - that would be fun.

Beanius -Sorry your chemo is postponed but sounds like a good thing to do but heavens a long way to go back and forth makes me tired to think about it.

Kittycat - -You do have a lot of energy I must say. I can't begin to do all that.

Trying to finish my other son's packing for camp and went out and ran over a nail so waited an hour 1/2 to have it fixed but at least I'm ready to go again....

The drink is pretty and looks like I'll be under the table in no time - good thing I brought some pillows to curl up with.

It's official.  Silly Sadie is totally demented.  We went out for her afternoon feth & catch session and she was soooo wound up that she lept off the porch and ran around in circles just as fast as she could, then stopped dead and looked at me as if to say "What's going on?"  I pretended to throw the ball and she went whizzing around the yard looking for it, then stopped dead and looked at me again, sat down and howled at me.  "Howled" is the only word to describe the noise she made.  I stopped teasing her and threw her ball for her until she was so tired that she would come up to the porch and stand there panting with her tongue hanging out one side of her mouth and half way to the ground. She looked totally demented, and totally hilarious!  I'm going to try to get a picture of her with the tongue hanging out and post it--sooo funny!

Ok thanks for letting me rant on about my Silly girl.

Good Morning, Lounge Ladies!  Seems quiet in here this morning.  Too much water skiing and watching the water skiers yesterday maybe?  Hmm. maybe the drink of the day should include some form of (mild) stimulant. How about

    Coffee Lover's Martini

    1/2 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
    3 oz Coffee Vodka
    1/2 oz Dry Vermouth

    Bottoms up, ladies!

    Morning girls......if anyone is around!

Yes yes, I'm home. Took me 2 days to catch up on all of ya's. And now, there is NO WAY to respond to everything! But we had a great time. Didn't win or lose much...so that is good. But we don't go for that, we go to enjoy, have fun with each other and laugh. Leanne Rhymes was awesome. She has an amazing voice, and hearing her live just multiplied it. It was an outdoor concert, started at 9...so we actually took a late afternoon nap, otherwise we would have have never been able to stay awake! 110 during the day, so by concert time I think it cooled off to about 100 and I think I had that many hot flashes!

Kitty, good luck tomorrow with your first chemo. For me, it took a couple days before it started to have its affects. Also about the painting, make sure the smell of the paint isn't going to make you feel nauseas. I would hold off on that one until you've had a couple treatments. By then you might be able to tell if you will be able to withstand it.

LOVE the lake and boat idea. I'll take one of those rides behind the boat. Skiing is not for me. Tried it once when I was about 16. Skinny skinny thing at that time, and didn't have the strength in my legs to even get up on the water. Was just pulled head over a$$ into the water! Def. harder than it looks.

Kathy, hope the boys are doing a good job holding those little umbrellas over your pretty new nips! I saw a few new faces pop in, but haven't seen them back, so I guess I'll hold off on posting pictures. But it looks like I need to add more! That will have to be in the fall or winter tho, I am just tooooooo toooooooo busy right now.

NM, great job on the daily drinks.........you certainly hit each one perfect.

Hope everyone is doing as good as can be and enjoying the summer. Oh K....hope things turn out well for your dad. Good for you for trying to keep mom healthy. Praying for the best...for both of them.

Oh, now this is FUNNY...I posted, but must have just hit preview and then left the site, cause my post is NOWHERE...LOL!!! Teaches me, not to post b4 my cup of cafe!!!

NM, ROFL at your post of "Bottoms Up"..but really don't think he needed that padding...LOL. The drink looks so ono (yummy)....surprised it was clear and not brown...but looks can be deceiving! Thank you SO MUCH for posting our daily drinks, and hitting what we need, just perfectly! I really enjoy your posts. And as for "Silly Sadie"...she sure came into your life at just the right time...and sounds like she is having such a ball. So cute!

This week and next, it is "S&L" week here...swim and lunch....2 youngest g'kids are taking swim lessons at the pool here in our subdiv...real sweet gal is teaching them. I don't know why we NEVER have been to our pool....and it overlooks the lake...absolutely breathtaking setting. Need to be doing more stuff at home, and be "hometown tourists" more often. Last night we went to a free concert downtown....2 bands, oldies, and brass....everyone takes picnic dinner, (wine), chairs, (wine), dessert, (wine)....not sure if wine is allowed in the park though...lol. We even took ice cream in our cooler...quite a crowd, but lots of fun. Our subdiv is having a pool party this weekend with bands...should be fun! Lori, glad you are BACK, and that the concert was fun!!! Thanks for the well wishes for my parents...dad's MRI is today, and EEG is tomorrow.

    Okole Maluna (Bottoms Up),

Heather - good luck with your treatment this week.

I can't water ski because I can't swim because I'm afraid of water but I'm willing to try it here. I'm probably a better water skiier than I thought! It is finally summer - yippee! I'm loving the nice weather but went on a long walk over the weekend with DH and got a sunburn on my shoulders. I have to see the PS tomorrow and I know he'll give me grief.

Chemo cocktail for Heather today! Wishing you all the best girl, but I really think you will do ok. You are too much of a trooper, not to!

Gail, maybe we can find skis made for two, and you can have Pants or Jocks on with you for help and balance!

Again Kathy, I am so jealous of the time you get with your GK's. The parties sound great, but what I'm really wondering is how the ice cream fared??? That is funny.

With warm weather, business booming and just stuff....I am running non stop from the time I get off here in the morning until almost bedtime. In the winter I am on the laptop of an evening as well as morning....but not during this time of year. I like to be outside, as long as its not too hot and I can take it.

We should have S&L here at The HTL Kathy. Swim & Liquor! As for losing posts, I have done that....but only because after hitting submit, I lose my signal. Really really agravating, especially if its a long post! So I try to remember to copy it in word first, which doesn't happen most times until after I have alread hit submit! Then I cross my fingers that it makes it!

    Well out for my swim!

Kittycat - I so hope your port is settling in okay and that you are doing well after your first tx. I am so wishing you the best! I feel guilty mine got postponed or I would have had it on the 8th.

ConnieS - Most of my "stuff" so far has been at Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle and I think they are absolutely fabulous, so it has been well worth the long drives. This will be slowing down however, because my chemo and rads will be done in Aberdeen and that's only about a 30 min drive for me. I'll keep my follow up and mamos, etc. with Swedish.

NM - Loved your Silly Sadie story and would love to see pics! Bout bust my stiches at your coffee lover's martini - "bottoms up" - geeawwdd, thanks for that!

goldie - welcome back and glad you had a good time! Great pic for Heather's drink!

wahine - the pool and lake view sound wounderful, so glad you had a good time too! Let us know how your dad is doing.

Astorm - I only water-skied once when I was a kid, too big of a hassle with the boat and all. I like XC skiing and used to downhill a lot. It's been gray and pouring rain again here so I really envy you being able to get a sunburn.

Well, JP didn't go home, I just have way too much fluid so proly 1-2 more weeks with my little buddie. I got my wig in the mail yesterday and it's a cheepy, but will do just fine by me for trips to the grocery store n stuff. So I'm all set to go, but have to wait to heal more & get oncotype results. Still can't part with my money for a new vacuum, I'm leaning toward another Wal-Mart cheepy. When I looked at prices for others, the $299+ tags just made me cringe. I gotta get out of Washington. It's beautiful, but it rains aaaaallllllllll the time. I've been here 5 years and need to find a new tax free state that has lots of sunshine. Hope you all are having a great week! Cheers!!

OMG!!!!!  THEY SENT ME HOME!  NO CHEMO TODAY!

I went to the cardiologist's office yesterday.  They couldn't do an echocradiogram on me last week because the tech couldn't see my heart.  Well, I'm not the only breast cancer patient coming in with implants!!  So they did a MUCA nuclear test yesterday.  The tech was driving me nuts.  She told me she couldn't see my heart...  again because of the implants.  Then tells me that my heart speeds up and then slows down.  I asked her if it could be that I was very anxious since I was starting chemo the next day.  She did 2 scans.  I called the onco's office afterward and they were closed.

So, this morning I go in.  I'm all ready for chemo.  I packed a bag and brought all this stuff.  My husband took the day off....  Well, they draw my blood.  Then the onco's nurse comes out and tells me that she got the test results from the cardiologist.  She said my heart pumps blood slower than what they consider normal to administer Adriomyacin.  The onco isn't there today - SHE'S ON VACATION!! They could give me some drug to protect my heart.  However, the other onco there didn't want to make that call.  UGHHHHH!!!!  So, they said they have to wait to hear from my onco.  They might put me on another chemo.  Hopefully they can get a hold of her this week.

I AM SO FREAKING FRUSTRATED!!!!!  I called my inlaws.  Apparently, my FIL goes to that cardio's office and he is highly rated.  So, I left a message for the cardio because I don't feel confident with the tech, esp since I heard her say she would have to hand calculate something.

I need a serious drink today!!!

Lori, I like your definition of "S&L" better than mine...lol! The ice cream did well actually...had just bought it, and had an ice pack in the cooler....didn't eat it all and just popped it in the freezer. Prob the only ones at the concert with ice cream! Love the magnet site~! Cute one for Heather's drink! I also liked this one:

    "Cancer Sucks" in Spanish!

Bean, So sorry you are still with JP!!! How long has it been now? I had one for 5 wks, and was miserable with it. I didn't stay still, and not sure if being too busy keeps the fluid draining too much for it to be removed. Glad you got a wig! Wish you were closer to Asheville, NC, as Earleen has the "Beauty through Cancer" nonprofit, and has a room full of gorgeous wigs, scarves, etc., free for breast cancer patients. Would be wonderful if every state could have such a place. Yeah, the Dysons and Orecks are high, but I think I got mine on an amazing clearance sale for around $219 or so(?). I love mine so much, I am tempted to wait for another sale and replace the upstairs vac with a similar one. I agree about the WA weather...my g'parents lived in Tacoma for about 20 yrs, and my mom lived there for 12 yrs....nice and cool most of the time, and not so much heavy rains, but it was like a mist there a lot. What got my mom depressed were the skies....so cloudy...she longed for blue skies during winter, which we have here. We are not a tax free state, but have lots of sunshine, and would love to have you move here! (Summers are dreadfully hot and humid though).

Thunderstorms this morning, so swim classes were cancelled, but we just waited about 90 min till it cleared, then the kids were at least able to play around in the pool. Yesterday we walked to the nature preserve area of our lake with the g'kids (sorry Lori, but I will try to enjoy them for you!), and saw blue herons, large turtles, baby turtles, several types of ducks, and lots of ducklings. I don't know why we don't walk around the lake more often....except that pretty soon it will be too humid to do anything but stay inside with the a/c!

    Chairs!

Kittycat, I totally missed your 2 posts...think I was posting at the same time. (Didn't realize that until I read HD's post about your chemo delay). SO VERY SORRY to hear of all that crap that you had to go through today. And to have to delay chemo, when you were emotionally geared to start it. But we only want them to start it when your body can handle it. Breaks my heart...its enough to go through all this sh#t when everything goes smoothly, but when there are glitches it makes everything a million times worse. We're here with you....and sending hugs (((HEATHER))).

    Yup...CANCER CHUPA!!!

Thanks gals for the words of encouragement!  I talked to the cardiologist this afternoon.  I'm going in to see him on Monday morning.  He wants me to start chemo ASAP. He wants to monitor me and my heart, while on chemo.  I've never had any issues with my heart.  I have low blood pressure and have never worried about my heart.

Tonight I had a white peach mojito tonight at dinner! Yum!  If I can't have chemo, I'll find something else toxic! LOL!

Oh my goodness there has been a lot going on!

kittykat--I can not imagine how you must feel, and you certainly should get another scan done by somene you feel confident knows what they are doing.  Stick to your guns, girl.  And it really, really makes me mad when one doc leaves another doc covering and the covering doc won't make decisions--that's the reason the doc is covering!  Keep making noise with the cadio and the onc office until you get satisfaction!

beanius--I'm so sorry the JP is still attached.  I had one for 4 weeks after mastectomy, and the spot where it came out HURT, especially when I moved.  It' annoying, it's painful, it CHUPAS big time!

wahine--LOVE the magnet!  I'm going to wear my Foxtrot Union Charlie Kilo Cancer t-shirt in to my recon (10 days, 23 hrs, 52 mins, 29 secs) and see if anyone notices.  This one is my fav:

Hunky--Hey--good to see you!  We've saved you a drink and a pool floatie!

The drink of the day is obivous--White Peach Mojito!

    Ingredients:

6 fresh mint leaves, plus 1 sprig mint, to garnish
25ml/1fl oz fresh white peach purée
    20ml/¾fl oz fresh lime juice
    1 tsp sugar syrup
    35ml/1¼fl oz dark rum
