I believe  I had the drink of the day today.  I'm a rookie at this posting thing so I don't have mine in a fancy glass or anything but I promise this will knock your socks off.  Or as my hubby, Jeff says,it will make you take back stuff you never stole.  In celebration of Wahine's vacation in St Thomas I present

          THE PAINKILLER

    6 oz. dark rum

    3 oz. pineapple juice

    1 oz. coco lopez

    3 oz. orange juice

    Freshly grated nutmeg

    crushed ice

Combine all ingredients except ice and nutmug.  Shake

vigorously for 60 seconds.  Pour over crushed ice.  Sprinkle

nutmeg on top.  Enjoy being on island time.

Everyone have a great day and remember -there are no worries when you are on island time.

Leslie, OMG....6 oz of RUM!!!! Please tell me this is not for just ONE drink....lol. I didn't try that yet, but we DID get to go to Craig & Sally's for lunch today, in Frenchtown. Took water ferry to town and then walked in this HEAT (I swear the sidewalks have NO shade!!!!). But it was very worth it....amazing food...thanks telling me about it! Would like to go back to Gladys' too, but we get picked up at noon tomorrow, so that is out. After we ate, we ordered extra food at C&S's that we brought home to have tonight for dinner! ALthough if I try that drink, I won't want dinner...I won't even know what dinner is!!!!

Yes, Stanzie that picture was JUST FINE!!! Although I can tell I had my eyes closed....lol.

I did read everyone's posts, but would never remember each msg I wanted to comment on, so I will just catch up with you here by the swim-up pool, okay??? Wating to hear more news from my dad's dr tonight, so still hoping all is well. It is so nice to have internet here! Glad that DL upgraded us for the way home.....and I may have even mentioned that in an earlier msg. See, I can't even remember my own posts!!! So will have more of those "Its 5 o'clock somewhere" drinks....jaybird do you like those? I think they're pretty yummy. The reason I get to catch up while on vaca, Lori, is my DH takes so many naps!!! So I just type away happily...lol.

Awwwww...such sweet teddy bears for NM, Beans!!! I was writing while you posted it, but wanted to comment on it. I know she will enjoy seeing that!

ChEARS Big Ears! (inside joke w/ us "oldies" here at HTL),

Leslie -- I'll take one of those for sure! Glad the drinks here at HTL don't have calories. I need to be on that island right about now... have a headache but still must study. Painkiller is a nice choice for NM too.

Beanie - Thank you! Photo with glasses was a little hazy... I've never been very photogenic. I'll post another when/if one of my DDs ever takes another pic of me. Aunt Flo is AWOL which is why gyno wanted the US. Never thought I'd miss her but she needs to get her sorry @ss home cuz they're bringing out the hounds next.

Goldie-you are so good.  I wanted to pull the glass from my screen!

Wahine-sorry that is for 2 drinks but you know-when the day is bad...  So glad you liked Craig and Sally's.  It's my favorite.  Have you had a chance to try a Painkiller over there?  Also, best place to buy alcohol is KMart.  So glad you are having fun.  The heat can be overwhelming at times.  Evjoy the pool and the beach.  Cheers to everyone.

Milo, once you have the pic online, click on the pic to get the whole thing...copy and paste! This only works with pictures that are already on the internet. But you have to have the whole picture, not a thumbnail or one with a link to it.

    Sure looks yummy!

Leslie, WHEW, glad to know that was for 2 drinks....but 2 very potent drinks!!! I read the comment your DH said about wanting to take back things you didn't steal, to my DH, and he loved that! Will have to try it next time...had more pina coladas tonight.

Want to pass on some good news....my dad's tests turned out SO good....his dr is amazed! So what does he do? Works outside painting, repairing, etc....sheesh....I asked him to please take it easy! Wanted to share that with you, and also to thank all you ladies for all your good thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all!!!!  (((((HTL gals)))))

Hey girls!  I went to my 2nd round of AC chemo today.  Then went home and ate a yummy casserole my mom had made.  Off to the wig shop to get my head shaved.  My husband and a couple of our friends joined us (both guys).  The commentary was hilarious!  I have a nice shaped head, but some sores from the chemo.  The salon owner put some aloe vera stuff on my head.  Let the guys rub it on their hands.  Then we put on the wig.  It is longer than my normal hair.  I love it and the color.  It's a bit more red in the roots than my hair with some blonde highlights.  I had her trim off 2 inches, but it still seems too long.  My husband was in a full blown panic over her cutting the wig.  Men are so funny.  Anyway, I'll see how I look and feel tomorrow in it.  I might swing by and have her trim off a little bit more.  I can't look like a stripper!  LOL!!!

NM - with such a long surgery, I'm sure you have a ton of meds in your system.  A meltdown is surely normal.  I hope you feel better soon!!!  We'll have to ride the bus to you with all of our wine collections and more!!!  Cheers!

Stanzie / Kathy - You both look absolutely adorable! Kathy I didn't notice you had your eyes closed!.

Kitty - You'll have to post a pic of you with your new wig. I remember my head shaving, I too had a rather nice shaped head, very round!

Junie - I am sure you are running around like a crazy lady, as I am sure you are entertaining this Holiday Weekend

NM - Hope you are feeling a bit better each and every day.

We are planning a day trip out with the quad and picnic lunch on Saturday. Heading out, maybe to Escudilla Mountain. Monsoon season has moved in, so hoping it doesn't rain on us.

Lori - Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. We have quads and a RZR.  Do you have a utility or sport quad?  Maybe sometime we can meet up somewhere and go quadding.  We had to cancel our trip to Utah this year because of chemo.  Mark is itching to go riding!!

Hunky - I love your drink!  And yes, chemo brain is real!  Melanie and I went to dinner at Lorraine's house this week (she's on BCO, too).  We got so lost - chemo brain as driver and passenger!  I lost count of my u-turns!!

Love the drink's name - too hilarious!!! Kitty can't wait to see the pictures - about the cutting of the wig hair - I guess boys didn't go through the whole cutting of doll hair process growning up! We really do know it can't grow back on dolls and wigs and are Ok with this ( well at least after the first tramatic doll experience! )

HD - thanks, I always love a Lobotomy first thing in the morning, cuts down on my need to think.

wahine - Great news about your Dad! So so so so glad to here it.

I got some good news yesterday, my oncotype score came in LOW!

You ladies have a wonderful day, Chairs!

HD - Great drink for us! PERFECT! I wonder how it tastes. Reminds me of CAZ's crazy beer "Hop Stupid"!

Heather - I don't know what the difference is between sport and utility. We have yellow Honda Foreman ES. I have a "sexy" picture of me, posing with it, but not on this computer. If I think about it, I'll post from my lap top. It is also...pre cancer and pre gaining weight! It does have 4 wheel drive, and does not go real fast, maybe 30-35 mph.

Kathy - SOOOOOO glad to hear the good news on dad! AWESOME!!!! When are you heading home?

Beans - Woooo Hooooo on your low onco score. Did you get a chemo start date?

Stanzie - too funny about cutting the hair on dolls! Haven't we all done that!

Having a restful, relaxing day out at the pool; Jocks has kept me well stocked all day!   Will get butt in gear tomorrow for next crowd of kids arriving Fri nite and more on Sat--will have 2 kids/spouses/grandkid and the poopy dog for the 4th.   My mind is numb trying to think of meals to fix--have to cater to one vegetarian...think I have it figured out--Jocks had some great ideas.   Anybody have suggestions on something nifty to spice up tater tots?   Haven't fixed them since my kids were little, but thought they'd go good with hamburgers and be easy to fix.

I am seeing all the posted pictures--EXCEPT Wahine and Stanzie--all that shows up on my screen is arms, glasses, and plant in background.  grrrr--can you post some more and maybe I can see you two.

NM--thinking of you and hope you are on the mend.  Bean--oncotype score is low--great news--does that mean you can bypass chemo?   Wish that test was available when I had my tx, I might have opted out of chemo.   Kitty--sounds like you are having a good time with your wig experience.  My wigs were really cheapie things--the second I walked out the door at work, I'd rip mine off and stuff it in my briefcase.   Next morning I would just shake it out and pull it on before I got out of the car at work!

I'll do some popping in and out over the week end, but you all have a glorious and SAFE 4th!  Huggggsssss to ALL!!   Wahine, thinking you're home now or close--hope you had a grand time in St Thomas.   Lori--I laughed at the coaster your pretty drink was sitting on!   I do enjoy my ML!!!!

omg this thread is the funniest... I love the drink of the day.. I am going to save it for my last and hopefully final treatment day...Maybe i will have 2 or 3 to be safe.

Oka it is the 4th of July this weekend..  for me just another milestone ...When I get to end of August I am done.

Hoping to take spin to NJ shore and spend a night or two. I have a home close to LBI...This summer I am renting it out since I cannot go out in the sun, cannot go swimming...etc..

but this weekend..I might have a beer or two ..sit on my deck and watch the sun go down...

so what are  you ladies up to?

Well we are off to the cabin for a nice long weekend.  Our friends going with us have taken care of the food.  I am in charge of the libations.  I am armed with my drinks of the day recipes and purchased all my provisions this afternoon.  I think we will start with the Adios MF tomorrow for Happy Hour on the Porch.  Red Devils will probably be on for Staurday night .  I even have the stuff for the Blue Weinerdog.  Everyone have a fun, safe and joyous holiday.  Let's have some fun and everybody be careful out there.

I kind of ran away from home today. Worked with a client 30 miles away and since I had an appointment with my PS this afternoon I decided to fill the 2 hour gap at Norstrom's. I've been meaning to get sized but I'm a little sensitive about the whole situation. A girl at Victoria's Secret sized me at 36A, which made me go home and cry. The wonderful fitter at Nordstrom said I'm a 32D -- Yes, "D" I guess implants are wide and to get a proper fit you usually have to go up a cup size. I could have kissed her! Instead I bought 3 bras and put one on pre-sale. After my visit to the PS I wandered toward home but detoured and bought a t-shirt (I love Ts but haven't worn one since the mx). Didn't really feel like going home to a messy house and lazy teens but reminded myself that there is wine at home... and my drinkin buddies.

Hey NJgirl, we are up to NO GOOD....usually! Great group of gals here and its pretty much a place of escape! But HD is right....LOTS of support. Stick around and we'll give ya the tour. I'll sit with you on the deck and watch the sun go down. I bet we can steal one of Junie's buckets of ML, she always has several!

Milo, have a great weekend and lots and lots of fun. Great choice in libations, you'll be a big hit!

Astorm, 36A to a 32 D.......that's a pretty big difference! But glad you got to get some new one. I hope they are pretty and/or lacy ones. Wine at home, wine at home, wine at home....that's it ......WINE AT HOME!

    Dee? Where are you?

    NM, wishing you well.

Heather, its your day for DOTD (drink of the day) But thinking you might not be up to it and that wall might be in the way! How about a CAPTAIN AND COLA. Seems to suit our little Pirate!

Well, I've survived 10 days of antiB's! I've gone through more plain, non-fat, vodka spiked yogurt than you can shake a lobotomy at. Full of yogurt and covered with yellow mold. But I'm ALIVE!!!!

Chemo start date is still set for July 6. BTW it's the same stuff (CMF) my mom got for her bc back in the late ‘70's. I don't know exactly what my oncotype score is, my doctor just said it was low. She pretty much said that no matter how low a score I had she would want me to have chemo due to some of the little buggers got inta my nodes. I would love to take a pass, but I'm kinda edgy about what if those little creeps are floatin' around lookin' for more trouble. Wanna put on my hikin' boots and stomp ‘em out!

junie - have fun with poopy dog and all the cooking and festivities, sounds so fun. I loved your story about your wigs, just shake it out and put it on, that's my style!

goldie - I love tater tots, yum-yummy recipes, thanks! Great choice on the drink too!

miloryder - I'm impressed, sounds like you have a full line up for the weekend. Sparks will definitely be flyin!

Stanzie - I don't have any plans either, maybe we can pop in on milo's party.

Hi njbhwgirl! Glad you are here for the lastest and greatest, Captain & Cola. Now that I'm all better I can get back to guzzling by the pool with you.

Astorm - 36A to 32D, that's amazing, glad to hear you found something you like.

HD - who you callin' weird?

Heather - I hope you're feeling okay, at least you're not moldy like me.

One last thing, last eve I was so excited to see a big black bear walking across the street in front of my house. I had heard we have bears here, but hadn't seen one before. He was so cool. I'm going to try to post photos.

Wishing ALL you sexy beauties out there a fabulous holiday weekend. Be safe and have a super good time!
