Junie----NO R&R today! We are spending it with Beans for her first chemo! LOL

Stanzie, so sorry to hear your son is sick again. Nothing worse than when one of your babies is sick, and you don't or can't do anything about it! I hope he is well soon. As for the drink, you are just too observant! You also must have missed that it was suppose to be in a shot glass Tongue out So fine....I confess.....the picture is not "The Arkansas Slammer". Just some photo I put with the drink!

Astorm, NO ASSUMING......YOU WILL pass! We can all go with you and have cheat notes so we can whisper in your ear, an answer you are not sure of!

NM, OMG! Taking your own drains out! I know you are a nurse, but sheesh! And a nurse that is affraid of needles but won't think twice about yanking a drain! Had to be the drinks! Which I see Pants has taken care of, for you! Hang in there......you are comin right along!

Glad you are already hitting the UP side from chemo Miss Kitty!

Kathy and Junie, I don't think I should put the picture up that has "Hunk" on the tv screen. Don't have his permission. One thing to have it here on our thread, but the video IS on youtube. I doubt it will be "found" by too many...but still! I would just rather not. Also, when I do add other pics, if someones sees something they don't want on there, let me know. It can easily be removed!

    ChEARS!

Goldie - I love that you are being careful and watchful of everyone - really wonderful but then what else should I expect!!

Funny about the drinks and I wasn't even trying to be observant which believe me not one of my strong points.

    Beans - thinking of you!!

Wow NM I know that is a hard surgery but you sound like you are doing great! hope you get great results!

When I took Sean in he was so out of it. Just lying there - I thought ahead and brought a pillow this time. The Doc was so nice. They didn't make him go to the lab they sent them to us but when they did the throat swab he totally lost it so when the blood draw came next it took 4 of us to hold him down and it was so horrible - he just kept screaming," Make it stop, Make it stop!"

TRight there is the number one thing that is so hard about being a parent - seeing your child in pain and can't help him at all. Whew!! He is so sweet too so once home he became himself. so all is much better!!!

Here ya go Swan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foY0bpSrtrc it was back on page 291. I will be adding to it when I can. I will let everyone know when I have done that.

Stanzie, I hope Sean will be ok and that it is nothing serious. I'm sorry you had to be a part of the 4 that had to hold him down. I am sure that was harder on you, than it was him. But glad to hear he is doing much better at home.

    Beans, you ok?

    Jaybird, you been hi-jacked?

Toasting all my buds......gonna go see if I can do a little more on the video!

    Hi Ladies!

Got a few minutes to myself before I toddle off to bed. I'm sorry if/when I miss some stuff but here goes:

Goldie - great job on the video!

Heather and Beanius - hang in there, before you know it the chemo will be over and you'll be getting much better!

Swnaseagirls - where are you having chemo?

NM - we should compare DIEP stories sometime. I could never be brave enough to take my drains out and I'm glad I didn't need to make my husband do it! I'm still loving my noob! Looks like I might have to get it lifted just a little to match the other one, though, but that will be a very minor surgery comparatively.

*sigh* So much for my time alone. The "kids" (our bichons) are back and bugging me.

Take care, everyone, and I'll pop my head up from my school books when I can!

Connie-we will have to compare stories sometime!

The Physical Therapist says I'm safe to go up and down the stairs by myself so I'm not 'stranded' in my house anymore!  I can go get my own mail, and, if the weather cools, start walking again.  Yesterday and today I feel like I've made so much progress, and really am feeling more and more human all the time.  Tired, but human, and less trapped and discouraged.

Where's the bus off to today?  I'm still working on getting caught up with everything and everyone.

Hi Loungie Ladies, Thanks for going with me on the bus. It was a beautiful sunny day and you could see Mt. Ranier so well and the cascades - beatiful day. I met with my oncologist and guess what? My oncotype score was a 6 so chemo will be off less befefit and it's mostly hormonally driven so tamoxifen and/or armidex will be more beneficial. The score ranges from 1 - 100  and my doctor said the lowest she's ever seen it a 4. They started me on low dose CMF yesterday - I just know you won't believe it - but it's true, it's true. I actually got to chemo #1! If felt a little weird (not too much weirder than usual) so far and no nausea. Goldie is right - kittycat it's time to trade, now you feel good and I'll start feeling icky. NM I'm so glad to see you're gettin up and around and I just knew you'd be on the bus - yahoo. I hope I didn't scare you all when Pants let me take the wheel for a while. My beautiful sister is visiting and we're going out shopping today. I'll pick up some good drinks for you while we're out and do better at catching up then too. I love you gals and thanks so so so much for goin on the party bus - it made my day. Really you made my day - thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think one of the next bus trip is for swaneseagirl, she's startin on the 14th I think...anyone know of another bus trip??? Count me in!!!

    Take care, Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeens

Beanius-  I think your first chemo has made you downright looopy!  I am SO glad for your great Onco score news.  We are going to be doing almost identical treatments, CMF x 6,followed by Tamox and Arimidex. It will be good travelling with you through these new adventures.  It sounds like the SE aren't too bad, hurray!  Enjoy your sister and I hope the sun finally shines out there.

I haven't been able to join you guys on your buses yet, but am sure getting a good laugh out of your virtual parties.  I wish I had been able to go to Venice, it's one of the most magical places on earth.  I'll have to look at my schedule and try to book with you guys soon.  My family lived in Hawaii, I miss the Pina Colada and little umbrella drinks!

Wow NM and you all three or is it four on chemo - you all are doing amazing!!! I think it is the magical drinks and the wonderful pool/cabana boys and wenches!!

Sean it seems has had a few odd coinecendences  which didn't make sense but now at least we have one big answer. He has a terrible ascess tooth!! So he is on new antibotics and will go in next week for a look see before the whole root canal procedure. My ex. will be there with him this time as I couldn't take him getting the novicane shot! So at least we know something. Poor thing though his whole right side of his face is so swollen I can't believe how he can talk or eat or anything....

    But at least we know!

Oh, and my contractor came today and they will start within the next two weeks! Will be a pain but at least it will happen. They had to fight it out with the insurance co. Seems like a big conflict of interest when the claims adjuster is working to save the insurance co. money but I being the client who pays the premiunims gets the bad deal.... hmmm?

Stanzie - motherhood is certainly not for wimps! I've had to hold skirming, crying toddlers while they get their blood drawn... once had to remove a tick (!!!) and then when they get older it's about people hurtung their feelings and that is even worse.

Swans - I think they will give you HTL cocktails at the chemo center if you ask.

Heather - thinking of you. Hope you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Beanie - my Oncotype score was a "7" but onco said there was no benefit to chemo for me. ? I did have the bmx though and I was only Stage 1/ Grade 1.

Well, I feel pretty good about the CPA exam. Better than the ultrasound anyway! It seems like every time I take some medical test they see something to worry about and then I have to do more tests. If I wasn't a bc survivor I'd just brush it off, but I guess one more blood test won't kill me. I wonder if there will come a day when we don't think my body is toxic?

Oh Stanzie, poor Sean! How painful. But thank God you know now what has been causing all those problems. And I am glad your ex will take him for that procedure. And YAY the contractors finally will be able to get your ceiling fixed....what a job that will be, but at least you now have a time frame. You have no idea how much bragging I am doing, on your cooking! Your ears must be burning...LOL.

Glad the chemo chicas are doing well....and have each other to ask questions and compare notes. I did not go through that, so am totally unaware of what it involves, but I admire your bravery and stamina through it all.

AStorm, OF COURSE you will ace the CPA exam!!! I mean wasn't it smart of you to have found this lounge quite some time ago??? So I know you are extremely bright!!! J/K....but I do know you will do well as you seem to be very dedicated. When will it be?

Felt like $hit today....maybe getting sick...maybe just overdid in the hot sun yesterday....who knows....(or maybe one of junie's ML trucks ran over me?)...but gonna turn in early and HOPE to feel like joining the human race again, tomorrow. As the song goes..."The sun will come out tomorrow.."....(along with 105+heat index)!

NM - you are one crazy girl to be pulling out your own drains!!! I couldn't wait to have my drains out. I went out one night with my hubby. Luckily the weather was still mild, so I could wear a hoodie and tucked my drain into the waistline of my pants. LOL - no one knew except us that I was sporting a drain!!!

So, my profile pic is with my new wig (and fireworks).  I've decided that I feel like I'm part of the Witness Protection Program when I wear it.  I saw a customer and stopped in to work to ship some packages.  Also had to buy some new jeans at Nordstrom's sale. No one said anything, but I swear people were checking it out.  My hubby said he likes it better than my own hair!  Now wait a minute!!!!   I washed my sister's wig and will need to style it.  It's a human hair wig and I'm terrified that I'll do something to it!  I'll have to take a pic of it and post it, too.

    Chairs everyone!!!

Since it is so TOASTY outside I am raising my frosty mug to all you great ladies! Hey and howdy to all my breastest friends! Hope everyone is doing well and staying COOL! It is hotter than a billy goat in a pepper patch here! Not alot of good news to report. My mother is not doing well and will be going to the Cleveland Clinic soon to see some specialists there. On top of that the knee she just had replaced in January is failing. The bones that hold the knee in place are crumbling and she is now in a wheelchair. I am trying to keep it together enough to keep coming into work but it is getting more difficult to keep my mind from wandering. I may take a leave of absence to be with my mom when she goes to the clinic. To everyone going through treatments and surgeries, hang in there! I am thinkin of you always and miss you all very much! I will keep in touch as much as I can.

    OXOXO

Dee, That must be incredibly hard, to see your mom in that condition. And she is so young!!! Is the Cleveland Clinic near you, where you can be there easily? I hope you are able to take time off and be there with her. Wonder if there is something they can do to stabilize her bones...not sure what...if they put a rod that had a hydrolic joint in it? But of course that is more surgery, which might be too hard on her, because of the other problems. It really breaks my heart, and I was so hoping for better news on her health. I bet it will mean a lot to her though, to have you there with her. We miss you here so much, and I want to thank you for stopping by when you can. Sending you hugs and love! ((((Dee))))

Hey Connie, glad you stop by to check in. We know you're busy but love your visits.

NM, you are sounding better and better all the time. Just be careful with that and don't over do it. Anyone here who HAS over done it, when they shouldn't of, will tell you! IT WILL COME BACK AND BITE YOU IN THE ARSE!

Beans, you must of done ok driving. I never noticed! I was looking at Mt. Rainier online, it is beautiful. Is there always snow on it? Hope you are feeling ok today. I don't know anything about CMF. How often are your treatments? I KNOW you and sis had fun out shopping.

Stanzie, you sure have alot going on! Hoping your son gets through that root canal ok! And GOOD LUCK with contractors!

Astorm, when do you get your test results? We all think you did great! "A day to come that we don't think of our bodies as toxic" HA....well I don't think of mine as toxic, but I certainly think of BC...SEVERAL times a day. I don't dwell on it, but damn.....everytime you just walk by a mirror, its there. Wish I could get, awwwww heck...can't think of what its called...lol. When you can't remember things. Oh well, y'all know what I mean.

Kathy, sorry you are feeling under the weather. Hope today is better. Stay inside!

Heather, you look beautiful ...as always!

Hey Dee, good to see you! Just wish you had better news to share. Wishing the best for your mom. Hang in there....you are one tough cookie, we know that. If mom goes to this clinic, is it something where she stays there? And isn't she from FL? So will she be moving?

We haven't had a DOTD in a few. So how about everyone just grab something!

LOL Lori....must be fate! Nice looking drinks....think I'll grab one in each hand. Would LOVE to stay inside...think actual temp will be around 100, so not sure of heat index. But want to paint a bit at least, while it may have some morning shade there. Now I have a sore throat....sheesh!!!! Thanks for the concern. Love the pic of Mt.Ranier! When my mom lived in Tacoma for about 12 yrs she bought her parents home (after they moved there from HI), and the DR had large corner windows, with a perfect view of the mountain!! But there, you pay more property taxes if you have that view! Gorgeous to see, though.

You gals that live in Olympia live in a neat city! The one time I went there, I fell in love with it. The brewery tour is fun and the grounds were gorgeous. Seemed much more laid back than Tacoma and Seattle (maybe cause of the brewery! lol), and easier to find your way around.

Kittycat - Love the wig- you look just as beautiful! Once I dyed my hair red as my grandmother I was named for had red hair and when I came home my Mom liked it,my sister fell off the bed screaming ," No!", then I went to work. No one said a thing. I kept going to the bathroom to make sure my hair was still red! Later I changed it back and then people at work said - Oh thank goodness! But a few said they liked it. Now when I look back at my one and only picture I think it is nice and wish I had just had the confidence to keep it.

Dee - so sorry about your Mom and her difficulities. My dear friends in their 80's - she just had her hips replaced and need her knees done. So I know how hard that is especially when it is your Mom.

Wahine - feel better! but wait you now are going to paint! My goodness you have more energy - wish you could split some with me!

Goldie - georgous picture of Mt.Ranier! That is so lovely and cooling to look at. The drinks are too fun! My daughter is on the laptop and looked over and said Oh, I'd like to try those! Not - she is 12.

A-Storm - what is going on with the ultrasound? Hope all is well.

Whoops knock on the door, maybe the floor guy! How exciting!

Hi everyone! Just a quick hello to my favorite ladies.  It's blazing here in Vegas, fortunately I've got my brother and sister-in-law visiting to keep me occupied.  My family has been so wonderful- both my brothers have come down to visit and check on me since my diagnosis, and my parents have come down twice.  I'm still the "little girl" of the family :)

One of my chemo-sisters (same regimine as me, but stage IV) is having a really rough time and is being hospitalized today so I'm feeling very sad for her.  Everyone here in the HTL is so vivacious- Thank God!- and I just wish all of our breast friends could feel as good as we do and have great outcomes.

My rad onc gave me the okay to start radiation on August 2nd so we could take our family vacation at the end of July, so we're going to Hawaii!  Wahine, any recommendations for Maui?  I'm ready for some R&R... of course, I have to bring the four teen boys so I'm not sure how much of either I'll be getting!!

Well ladies, have a wonderful day.  I'm sorry I'm not very good at responding to everyone's day to day activities, but I do love reading all your posts.   It's a joy to be part of such a supportive group of friends!

Here's to everyone's health and happiness!!  Hug your loved ones extra tightly...

Hi, everyone.  Please have one of the tenders bring me a big glass of something cold and calming.  I just got a call from my insurance company--it seems, now that everything is almost over, and after 2 years of going thorugh hell and calling and asking for a case manager, I now have a case manager.  I qualified for one finally, by being in the hospital in Boston.  Being hospitalized in Maine apparantly doesn't qualify one for a case manager.  And, of course, I had to go back over EVERYTHING since she didn't have any info, so I just spent a long phone call going back over every horrible bc thing that's happened since March 2007.  I'm STILL crying and I'm mad at her for making me cry!

Along with that drink, please bring me all the chipped and scratched bar ware and a bucket to throw it all into.  I need to break things.  Thanks, Jocks!

Unfortunately, the brewery closed down. Argh!

But we have a great micrbrew pub downtown and some great martini bars. But alas, still no Chili's restaurant.

It's hot here in Olympia. Just right for a G&T on the deck!

I'm grabbing one of each of Lori's DOTD--plus my bucket of ML!!   Much rain here; storm knocked out our cable and have been almost 24 hours getting back on line.   Had withdrawal symptoms this morning--scary how much we rely on our internet connectivity.   Wahine--I'll try to keep the rain away from you--it is so humid and muggy; flat out miserable!

The B&B is getting a weeks' rest, then son, DIL and 4 grandkids are heading in!   No rest for the weary!!!

Gonna read back and try to catch up a bit--then out to the pool and wait for the bus to pick me up!!!   Hugggsssssss to ALL

NM....glad you found enough things to break! But sorry about your "breakdown"...not fun having to relive all those bad events since you were dx with bc. You came to the right place though...just throw anything you want!

Madonna....Haven't been to Maui in forever, so can't give you any hints...sorry. I know you will have a great time though! I used to like Lahaina, but that was over 30 yrs ago, and it prob is just all touristy now. My favorite island is Oahu, since that is where I grew up (and parents and relatives still there), but then I like Kauai for its beauty and small town feeling, and I like the Big Island for the diversity. There is an island for everyone!!! Glad you will get to have a vaca. So sorry to hear about your friend.

Swansea, I can't believe they closed the Olympia brewery!!! What happened to "Its the Water"??? Now they are making it in California...go figure. But it still is a beautiful place, and I am glad you are having a beautiful night, and that the mountain "is out"!

Junie, I think we got some of your rain today...all of a sudden this big storm comes up....my paint had already dried and I had put all my stuff up, but DH, of course, left EVERYTHING he was working on,outside....aarrgghhh.....so it all got drenched. But we sure needed the rain. Hope you can rest up b4 your son and family arrive....whew...don't know how you do it girl!

HD, Enjoy your back rub! Why do I always forget to get the massages, foot rubs, etc., here??? Guess there is just too much going on!

I am putting out an APB for CasinoGirl, CAZ, and jaybird....where are you gals at???? Hope everyone is having a good night....I still feel like crap, but can't afford to sit still...too much to get done.

Melanie - I love Maui.  I've been there a bunch of times.  What part of the island are you staying in?  I love Lahaina.  It is touristy now, but still really fun!  Lots of fun shops and bars.  :)  There's a cool restaurant on the north shore (on the way to Hana) called Mama's Fish House.  Fun drinks and yummy food.  And if you're in for an adventure, I'd recommend a helicopter ride and a drive to Hana!  There are some amazing beaches - Big Beach near Wailea & Black Sand Beach near Hana.  The snorkeling is also amazing!!!  The kids can swim and check out the fish and sea turtles.  You can hang out on the boat and sip some Mai Tai's.  And I'm sure they'll give the "cancer girl" some special treatment! LOL!!!  By the way, I hope your friend is okay.

Dee - (((hugs)))  I hope your mom gets better and you can spend time with her

Lori - Love the new profile pic.  Is that hair pre chemo or post chemo?  You look great!

NM - congrats on the case manager!  Amazing!!!

So tonight I talk my DH into going to eat dinner.  When we went home, his truck wouldn't start.  Earlier this week, his air conditioning went out (a not so fun trip to the dealership).  We tried to jump start the batteries (he has a diesel truck & it has 2 batteries).  No luck - both are dead.  His dad took us to our house, went to Costco and bought 2 new batteries.  Wa La - once he got them in, the truck started!  We got home and I drank a beer with my neighbor friend.  It's still 94 degrees outside!!!
