Lori, ROTFLMAO at Sadie's costume...too too too funny!!!! Can't see the other pic though. Hey, is it tomorrow you leave for MI? Started packing?? Or just be like me and pack at the last minute. Didn't know if it is this Thurs or next Thurs. Well, I keep procrastinating, and need to get to WORK (nasty word isn't it)!

Beans.....  Sounds like the right way to recover from a hard day's time.  (BTW - they can always give you Neulasta or Neupogen if your white counts get too low.)  Loved the need to make your coffee a bit "stronger".  I may need this as the "work up the wazoo" cure.

All.....have been reading your posts.  Beyond funny!

I need to get back to work as have a meeting in a while, and need to be organized and prepared.  Unlike the last time, when I had a conflict, so did what I could.  But have to really have my act together this time.

Opera tonight.....Lucia de Lammermoor.  Will see how mad she really goes at the end.

You are all too funny! Is my junk coming from Down Under? Hey, I think there is a spider in my drink...

Getting ready for Halloween... biggest challenge is what should the wiener-dog be? It's really his first Halloween cuz last year his eyes weren't open. He likes to sleep under the covers and is always burrowing when he wasnts to snooze. DH calls it "going under". I've been calling him "Underdog"... another nickname is "Bedbug" -- I could make a bedbug costume, maybe from PJs but with bug legs... or we could go with the classic wiener costume... ??? Halloween hasn't been this much fun since my kids were young and I could dress them.

Gail,I vote for 'C'...saw such a cute hotdog costume pic the other day w/ a weiner dog in it...adorable!!! I usually dress up and end up scaring the kids....but is SUCH FUN! Esp when I wear the headless butler costume...I have to actually show them I am underneath with my head intact!!!! This year I am tooo busy w/ all the remodeling projects, so told my DD that if she brings the g'kids over, I prob won't be dressed up, she was GLAD....said usually I am too scary for them! LOL. And usually I have the cobwebs, spiders, motorized large bat, etc at the front door, w/tombstones in the yard, large pumpkins, etc. Also have a huge metal sign (about 5'x5') but this year I am glad I didn't have time to put anything out, as it would have been 'gone with the wind' yesterday, with all the storms!

Helping myself to the Confession drink, sans spiders! Just had that glass put into the 4 french doors, and it looks amazing...clear view of the lake now, from the front door! Tomorrow it is us getting the new fridge, and ours taken to the lake house, etc...busy, busy. Jocks, I am STILL waiting for my "Confession"! Boy, sometimes it actually takes more than 5 seconds to get a drink around here!!!!

    Ciao!

I'll be waiting to hear the confessions from those of us who are having too many Confessions!

I was thinking about slicing a baguette and strapping it to the wiener-dog but the corgi would definately eat it and then he'd be a bunless wiener. The corgi is going to be a queen, of course. I made her a velvet cape several years ago but I think she bit her crown and broke it. Those corgis are always hungry...

Liesl has been a pig, an angel, a hula dancer, santa's helper and an elegant little girl. She is still throwing up..... trying to get a second opinion now.

The bus driver did it again yesterday and my babysitter and nanny called her on it. So now she is on guard. I called everyone and got one call back and they gave me another name but never called me back so tomorrow I call the director! Will have to comment on posts later off to my kids first JH Choral concert if the tornados don't cancel it. More later.....

OOh, I want one of those cofession drinks, too!  Sounds very, very yummy.  Been a long day and I am just realizing how very tired I am.  Seems I do ok until I get home and sit down.  I love the weiner dog costumes!  I vote for "C" as well--too cute for words!  I dressed up as a sorceress with a cape that had a hood that covered my face--scared a whole bunch of neighborhood kids that year and had a lot of fun with it!  These were all older kids--no really young ones, so I figured it was ok.  Wel, I'm off to the hot tub, then the hammock.  Someone wake me up in time to get to work tomorrow morning, please?

Where is the key to the liquor cabinet.  I want to make a new drink myself.  I just barely got caught up reading all the posts.  I can't even comment...way too many posts.  I do have a new/old boyfriend now courting me again.  Many of you know him and have dated him as well.  His name is Jackson.  Hope you all are having a great day.  We are watching the series...I am for the Giants...actually....I am hoping for a tight series.  Fun to watch closer games.  clink!  HD

Stanzie - sorry Liesl is not well.Sick puppy is no fun at all. Good for the sitter and nanny, calling the bus driver on discretions. My grandma was in a home for awhile and we always made sure the people who worked there knew they were being watched.

DH and DD had a meeting with the VP and she is not longer a truant!!! Yeah!!! I'm so glad I don't have to worry about anyone coming to get her for awhile, but I should be upset that I made so many phone calls and wrote so many emails and no one would listen until Mr. Diplomacy waltzed in and took care of it

NM, that wiener looks a lot like my bedbug. I just fell asleep in my car where I was studying... right after I finished a cup of coffee. Maybe its the weather?

hunkydory - Is this the Jackson that dated Susan on Wisteria Lane?

    GO GIANTS!

One tired tomato face chick here (from steroids), first white, then all red, then pink one side and red the other...then big time crash...too much rum first thing in the morning or maybe not enuf. Now I can proudly say I have tatoos! Think I'll go crash again like NM.

Beanie - I am more concerned that your hands are two different colors :)  Hope you are not up and wired all night from the steroids.  I think you should cuddle up with your DH and have a Cuddler Cocktail, sorry I couldn't find a photo:

Start with a mug, one of those cute espresso mugs if you have one. Add 1 oz of Baileys Irish Cream and 3/4 oz of Amaretto. Heat in the microwave for about 7 seconds and serve with hug.

    Feel better!

Huh?? Beanie has hands that are turning colors?? I thought it was her face - well I'm so confused! I like the superman costume myself!

And Goldie what is that about the plates/ I can't belive they survived you must be the world's greatest packer! I know I'm late on all the posts!

the choral concert was great but my back still can't take sitting in hard pews so that wasn't much fun. The concert was wonderful but too long for a school night especially making the Jh sit through all of the highschool pieces. They even did the Faure Requiem - hearing those beautiful young pure tones was lovely but I know the JH kids were bored to tears.

Talked to a diagnostic vet tonight and will get Liesl's records and take her in tomorrow to see what they can find. Worst case is cancer - oh, don't think I can take that at all..... She is who keeps me sane and going and my totaly confidant so hoping for the best.....

Sean goes in for a root canal! I didn't know kids could need root canals? He doesn't plan on giving pain killers??? Says if the root is dead he won't feel pain!! This is a kid who won't let you brush his hair or wash his face as it is so sensitive??? My ex is taking him!!! Hopefully it will be alright. I think I'll be glad when tomorrow is over..... Thanks all!!!

Stanzie - sounds like tomorrow will be quite a day for you. Great that you got Sean's dad to take him to the dentist - I'm impressed. I hope Liesl will be okay. Our pets are such a comfort for us. Too bad about the bad chairs. The ones her at HTL are so much more comfortable... but then you have to hear us sing and we are not so harmonious.

Claire - hope you are enjoying the opera! I haven't been in years... I think the last opera i went to was Die Fledermaus (sorry bout the spelling my German's not so goot).

Major congrats Kittycat.  Hardest is realizing that the bod needs to catch up to the mind which is sooooooo done.

Loved Lucia (opera).  She expired so divinely......

Beans.....you will get there soon.  I went through all that too.  Now it's moving on to more hair.  So odd seeing my father's head of hair in the mirror.  Get mine trimmed tomorrow.  Major milestone.

Stanzie.....be glad your ex is doing RC duty.  Bet your kid goes for painkillers.  Will listen to see if I can hear him here in Seattle.

Funny story.  I was chomping on some prunes as don't have fresh fruit in the house.  These are the ones I bought for the treatment journey and never needed.  Now I thought I would be better off if I ate a few.

And getting in a late glass of wine.  BTW - got a lovely bottle of pinot today, so can't wait to try that too!!!

Kathy, I leave next week. So not packing just yet!

Stanzie, maybe Wiener Dog could borrow one of Liesl's costumes? And good for you for keeping on top of that bus driver. Glad you made it to the concert and so sorry about everything else. Wishing the very best for Sean and Liesl. My plates were wrapped in newspaper and put between clothes, its the rack that made through baggage....all by its lonesome. No box, no wrapping, NOTHING!

Kathy, I am sorry that you have sooooo much to do that you won't be enjoying Halloween like you love to do. But there is always next year!

Jodi, if I cuddle with Beans can I have one of those cocktails? Great choice!

Welcome back Kitty and congrats on being done with chemo. Don't even try to catch up on everything, but please do read! There is always something funny going on!

    Chrissy, that is awesome news and such a relief......B R E A T H !

HD, back with that cheater. Haven't you learned your lesson? I hope he doesn't stick around long!

I beleive Mrs Nice is on chemo, correct me if I'm wrong. Certainly wouldn't want to make a mistake about that.

Such beautiful drinks.....almost a shame to drink any of them!

Junie, hope you are feeling better and Happy B-day to your DH.

    G'mornin from SoCal -

Yep, I'm still on chemo.  Last treatment is next Wednesday.  Can't wait to be done with that.  Even though it's every 3 weeks, feeling crappy for 2 weeks makes it seem like it comes around faster.    Finally ended a 3-day headache yesterday.  Had a slight one this morning but I think it's stress - I think I'm clenching or grinding my teeth or something when I'm sleeping (or trying to sleep) and it's making my whole head ache.  Couldn't sleep anymore after 5:30 this morning so got up and took the teenagers to school and let DH sleep.  He's been so good about running the whole show around here.

After chemo next week I see my BS to discuss reconstruction.  I had partial mastectomy on right only and what's left is a dented mess.  I didn't think I would care about recon and would just go with a prosthetic, but I'm already annoyed with that.  So not sure how that discussion will go.  She will probably recommend some kind of flap which I'm not too wild about having more incisions and she already said I have too much tummy fat (really, is that possible?!).  I really wanted to spend several months losing weight before recon, but she said she wants to fix it before radiation, and don't want to delay radiation.  Sheesh.  So much to think about I think I need a drink!

Now I gotta get some of those fancy celebratory drinks with the pwetty colors and flowers n all and some baileys n cream with amaretto for my coffee...that should shake the post chemo/steroid/bs blues!!! Yeah, cheers and more dog beers please, BARMEN, hurry please before I pass out again!!!

Will catch up later...been busy with the fridge delivery/then delivery to mom's house/then mom's other fridge in garage (now there are 2 there!). After delivery guys left, THEN realized it is damaged...inside wall...where the drawer won't work right....aaarrrggghhhhh again!!! Was so tired after all that, and upset, so I went out to do ONE thing in the garage and stayed in there cleaning up $hit (well you know what I mean) for 3 hrs!!!!! SO now I am really tired....but like I said, I will catch up later. Just popped in to say hi!

Kittycat - Wow! SO Happy you are finished with chemo. You have had such a great attitude. Hope you are having a gigantic celebration with DH and friends... and all of us of course.

Hunkyd - we need updates! Some of us are old married ladies.. (20 years!)

Chrissy - More good news! And thanks for the beautiful cocktails.

Claire - I don't eat prunes but, maybe port would be more appropriate? I had a lovely glass of Burgundian pinot last night, sans prunes.

Goldie - I don't see Jocks. Hope he comes around cuz HD says his costume is naughty.

MrsNice - so close! You must be really excited to finish chemo next week. If it's any consolation, I'm on Day 3 of my headache and I'm not even doing chemo. Here's what happened go me:

    • too many Sudden Headaches
    • Ice
    • 1 1/2 ounces mango nectar or juice
    • 1 ounce silver tequila
    • 3/4 ounce triple sec
    • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
    • 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
    • 2 1/2 ounces chilled demi-sec Champagne

Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the ingredients except the Champagne and shake well. Strain into a chilled flute and top with the Champagne.

...don't lose too much weight. I didn't have enough fat for a flap procedure to sculpt two foobs. Of course, that was before tamoxifen. I'll never make that mistake again!

Beanie - we'll have the drinks lined up for you... that reminds me, I really need to get to BevMo for some Amaretto, Bailey's and brandy.

Kathy - s l o w   d o w n... my wine fridge was damaged too but not to bad (the one I bought after the terrible awful champagne incident)... I put it in the garage anyway so I don't have to look at it. Wish I could get a new frige in the kitch. Ours doesn't really get cold enough and we've had it repaired (at our cost) several times. Too bad it was so expensive to begin with. When I win the lottery it's going bye-bye.

Well, I'm heading out to see if I can find a wiener costume.

CHEERS! or Chairs! whichever you prefer!

Actually, I will open the pinot tonight.  Small Oregon winery.  Am seriously spoilt for choice here in the Northwest.

I am going to cook up the remaining prunes and add in a little brandy and sugar.  So much better that way.  (I bought them so I didn't need some of Beans' potions, but only needed 4 during the whole treatment period.)

I can just feel the "sudden headache".  But they certainly look tempting.

Off in a bit for a hair trim.  Major milestone.  Need to look cool and professional for the two informational interviews I have coming up in the next week.  I think a shaping will do wonders at this point. - Claire

Reading your posts and trying to catch up--thanks for the laughs!!

Trying to work through the sinus/bronchial infection from hell--been trying to get into dr for a week now!   Did get some "bootleg" antibiotics through dr in the family--of course, I've had a violent reaction to them, although it is stuff I've taken in the past!   We had to cancel birthday trip to casino for dH--but, even though I am totally feeling miserable and awful, AH (dH) hasn't cancelled the weekend company coming for his birthday.   I am thinking to take an antibiotic just before they get here and let them all sit and watch me puke and run to the bathroom!!!!  I truly did not feel this miserable during chemo!!!!!

I'm thinking Lori did some "doctoring" to her photo to allow it to be shown!   Wish I'd seen the first version!!!!!

Congrats to all hitting new phases, good results, etc.   Claire--good luck with the job hunt!    I wanted to get a hair cut yesterday but didn't even feel like getting dressed!

Will try to see y'all for Trick or Treat!     Hugggsssss to ALL
