Oh, like I'd have a camera right there with me? Wish I had it would have been great....

OK, just saw the local news - yes LOCAL news showing a picture of someone finding a buffalow in their pool! A what? Yes it was ! well, they did have a camera -video right there.... So I guess I'll have to watch the news to see what on earth that is all about??? Right while I was writing....hmm?

So I heard the story. Someone had a cover on their pool and noticed there was movement under the cover. Then all of a sudden a buffalo came out soaking wet! It wasn't too big but it was a buffalo! Apparently their neighbor had been missing their buffalo for about a week. Ok so who in Atlanta has a buffalo?? But then a while back I heard a donkey braying in the back yard of some neighbor so???

We are under a Tornado watch this morning, when I came home from taking the kids to school, I heard Liesl howling and crying! Poor little thing was just terrified by the weather... so I picked her up and took her up to my bedroom and she curled up right next to me and immediately went to sleep. I love that I can make her feel so safe and happy. Now if I could just find someone that did that for me!

Sounds like some of you gals have some great guys! And a lot of us have some amazing furry children.

Oh, have to brag in my daughter, she is in 7th grade and she had her first swim practice. After the first few laps she was pulled out by the coach and moved to practice with the high school team! I'm so proud of her. I knew having those flippers for feet would come in handy at some point. When she swims it is like she has a motor on her feet - such an odd thing to watch cause she is such a skinny little thing but once she is in the water she just flies even against these girls who look like strong grown women! Now if only she wouldn't just push my buttons and drive me nuts other times!

My son has just discoved Scrabble ! How fun!

Stanzie - Hope the only tornado you get today is in your glass! That's a wild story about the buffalo. I saw a squirrel in my yard recently but mostly we just get the garden variety gopher.

... and he's wearing a foob stabilizer a little too low!

You must be very proud of your daughter! Isn't it great when you find something they really connect with and do well? It's so important for confidence building. I loved Scrabble when I was a kid but my kids won't play with me. Enjoy it while you can!

Today in the Seattle/Western Washington area, we are having some gusty winds and heavy rain - so I think this drink, called STORMY WEATHER, is perfect.

Beanius - How is it at the coast?  Beautiful wave action?

    1. Dark Rum - 2 oz
    2. Ginger Beer - 10 oz

OMG....would love to see the coast right now.  Unfortunately, I am glued to my computer working so can't even imbibe a "Stormy Weather".  Reminder to dig out my rubber-bottomed boots so I don't get soaked doing my next walk.

Too many stories....can just imagine the buffalo.

Stanzie.....congrats on having your daughter be a super swimmer.  WOW!!!

Wishing all you lounge ladies a wonderful "stormy" day!

Goldie - thanks for doing your part to keep the economy going - wow! 3 boxes of stuff - that sounds so fun! And rollercoaster!! Glad your plates made it through, what a story!

HD - good for you for not doing anyone else's dirty laundry. I've been working on our laundry for 2 days now, getting there...to tell the truth, usually DH does our laundry...he's hyper and a neat freak...I'm sort of messy, and cluttery by nature, so I felt like I would be nice and clean up, ‘n stuff. When I had roommates in college, they didn't like my clutter...I've sort of learned how to live with someone betR since then...maybe one area I've matured, but that's about it...I'm older, but no wiser and certainly haven't gained any maturity to speak of. I never get the remote tho...Your bee in the beer story had me laughing and then your advice to AStorm was so dang funny...y=a+bx...too much!!! Hope your week goes well and don't work too hard...bee a slob like me!!!

AStorm - You have been bizy with some fabulous drinks and photos. You are so funny...my ears perked up at the dog biscuit too! The Tornado today is perfect, we are on winter storm watch here...the high tide is supposed to be at 2 pm today and maybe will have flooding in the streets...we will be watching close today!! Glad I got my bicycles all fixed - ha ha - I haven't been able to exercise since I got to the coast - one big rain storm and I'm a whimp, it's all cold and wet out there, I miss SUMMER!!!! Gawd, LOL at the squirrel with the foobilizer!!

Stanzie - poor Liesl popped in the pool! With all the swimming dog photos I can just picture it! When we went to get our last cat we adopted from the shelter, they had something like 500 cats and one was frisking about...and there was a swimming pool at the shelter and this funny cat went screaming by, but slipped and landed in the pool. It took her a flash moment to be out again...it was so funny and you know how cats immediately act like nothing undignified happened...she looked around and just started licking herself, as if nothing happened...so funny...and the buffalo in the pool...hadn't heard that...Enjoyed reading about your garden and your daughter swimming...I have no children (or garden)) so love to hear about them.

Jodi - another great drink for north pacific! Glad to see you back. I saw that crazy sexy cancer is meeting in Seattle Nov 16, but I have a big date that day to be sun tanned on my right boo bee for the first time...gotta pick your priorities for fun times. If you go I hope it is fantastic, looks like a really nice group!!! Hope you are doing well with CMF, I'm starting #5 of 6 tomorrow - yippee doodles!! I'm hangin in there and will be done Dec. 6 - yippee doodles - we can do this!!!

Wanted to tell you the cat shelter is called The Cat House on the Kings in Parlier, CA...she has a youtube vid and I was hoping you could see the swimming pool the cat fell in...anyway, she has a house with hundreds of cats and some dogs...it is an amazing lifestyle

Hi back Beans......you just need the right slicker and boots.  Go out and enjoy the storm.  The winds and sea get my blood going......just so atmospheric.

But you need the right duds, or just miserable.

Congrats on 5 of 6.  You should be done by Christmas.  Three weeks after I finished chemo, I held a Global Virtual Wine Party.  Great fun, and gave everyone a chance to celebrate with me.

Only rule was that Pepto-Bismol didn't count as a "celebration drink".  Otherwise, was quite free-form

Thanks Claire, I have been wondering how to deal with all this wet...then chemo brain...I forgot I planned ahead when I was smarter and bought an exercise video that I can play on my laptop inside...I'm also frustrated with my brain because it recently bought a vintage/antique bracelet & earrings and I put them in a safe place but can't remember where...arrggghhh!!

Oh, My, Loungettes!  Sadie is just slurping up the Dog Biscuit, I've had one Tornado and am whirling around the computer keyboard, trying to decide if Stormy Weather is something I'm going to look at out the window or imbibe--or maybe both!

I've heard of moose being found in a pool, but never a buffalo!  That must have been just a bit of a surprise!.

And may all our tornados be drunken ones:

    Hey bar friends -

Been away for a bit.  3rd chemo kicked my booty and I was in a terrible funk.  Some days are better than others.  Trying to yank my arse out of the pits.  Reading a lot of books lately; some memoirs and such which are mostly fun but also somewhat daunting, what with all the abuse and such people get put through.  Think I need to switch to comics for awhile!

It's also been cloudy/foggy/drizzly here in SoCal for several days, which is probably not helping my mood.  Trying to get out for walks every day with DH, and get my desk space cleaned up and feeling functional.  Upgraded to Windows 7 and will soon install the 2010 versions of Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio.  Maybe a new look to the screens will make it more interesting!?

    Cheers!

Nice to have you back Mrs. Nice.  Never could read during trt. Funny the funk we get into!  I had this stupid thought today while waiting for a diagnostic test.  As a little girl, I used to clothespin playing cards on the spokes of my bike to make a loud clatter going up and down the sidewalk in front of house. We weren't allowed to ride in the street!   Now I don't want any outside attention whatsoever.  So funny how your life changes!  Now isn't that something to ponder over a nice cold beverage!  HD

Mrs Nice.......when you upgrade, you will really need to hit the cyber lounge.  They have rearranged everything in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

I also upgraded in the middle of chemo.  Did all the file transfers and softward loads myself.  A friend of mine said it was most likely a good thing as I was dragging enough to read the directions.

Anyway, it will definitely be a lot more "interesting".

    Cheers!!!

...empty????   I thought the HTL had gone to the dogs!!!   Laughing   fun pics but best was that pitiful cat!   Mega grump and don't feel well.   Sinus infection from hades--mega issues with PCP to be resolved tomorrow...hate to "fire" him--choices here in ruralland are rather limited!   Under a tornado warning and so tired but feel compelled to keep an eye on tv weather--another ruralland benefit--no warning sirens!!!

Wahine, I'll join you in the bar--just long enough to ice down my dog beers--then, off to the casino and then out to the pool and plan to just dog beer the night away!!!!   Maybe we can visit with the Tenders and set some plans for our Halloween Par-Tay extravaganza!!!!!   Looking forward to that!!!!

big hugggsssss to ALL!!!   Tomorrow is another day.....when we get to "dumpstering" the inside of the house, the front room drapes are being tossed right in--do NOT intend to make a dress out of them!!!   LOL

Hi junie! Sorry about the sinus infection....hope you get some relief tomorrow. Do 'ya think if you have those neat "Tornado" drinks that Gail posted, that it'll keep the tornados away??? Don't send them my way though, as the bad weather is going to be here AGAIN tomorrow night. Glad you joined us at the bar! Casino sounds good too though,.....KaChing! Yeah, we do want to have a Halloween party again this year....I think someone mentioned it a few days ago. We should all post a pic of what we want to dress up as!! And let the TT's and Wenches know what we want to have. Thank goodness they do all the planning and work! Gotta keep the HTL alive.......

Well girls, I'm up for getting plastered tonight so who's gonna join me.  Had my BS appointment today and he wants to run a complete CT and bone scan again as I have been quite breathless lately.......not good!  Means I've got to hang around at my DD's place for another 4days before I can head home.  He's also talking changing me to Femara as well......dang it all!!! I was finally settling in with Arimidex after 18mths.   Rally round girls, I need company and a whole heap of booze.   PANT AND JOCKS WHERE ARE YOU !!!!!!!!

Chrissy, Count me in...I'll definately join you, and even though you live far from most of us, we will get on the bus (it magically can fly also!) and be there lickity-split (quickly)! Let us know when the bone scan and CT will be, and we will be there right alongside you (might have some booze in our purses though!) As for getting drunk, let's see...it is almost 8:30 am CST on Tuesday, which means right now it is almost 4:30 am Wed in Sydney. I forget if your area is on a different time zone from Syd? Oh heck, lets make it an all day drinking event, and then we don't need to worry about time differences! BTW, what town are you in right now for having this done? We will rally round and support you totally! I can only imagine how scary this is, and hope and pray that whatever is causing you to be breathless (perhaps you're drooling over the firemen too much, and our hunky Pants and Jocks??? J/K), will be something minor. Heck, I'll just start right now...was having coffee...but maybe a mimosa is in order...*raising my champagne flute*....here's to Chrissy!!! I'm right there with you, girl.....as will the others when they read your post. Wishing you the best!

Wahine, thanks for joining me and a mimosa sounds really good right now.  Scans scheduled for 9.30am Thursday then back to the BS 5.00pm Friday.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its nothing but I'm too much of a pragmatits to not believe that the possibility is there that it is something nasty.....anyway here's hoping it's not.  Yeah, I think you just may be right, I've been oggling the firemen for too long and the jocks?.....well,.....that's another thing....I think it's all too much hunky men around at the moment I've actually forgotten how to handle them.  Now that is a scadalous admission....I know, I know, I should be able to handle them now I've been around long enough but maybe I'm just a slow learner or I don't drink enough....maybe I really need to practice moore.    Bring on the boys!!  JOCKS!!!!!!!!

Wowsers, I was just wiped out yesterday! Not much sleep the night before (5hrs). Even came in around 11 am to try and catch a few z's.............NOPE, not happening. Felt guilty I guess, couldn't relax enough to fall asleep. Just not a napper.

Chrissy, sorry to hear about the bootie kickin......chemo can do that to a person! Beans, I hope your jewelry turns up, at least you know it's somewhere and not lost! My plates were in my suitcase, and they were fine, it was the plate hanger that came off undamaged and caused the looks! Sorry to hear about everyones bad weather, hasn't been too bad here. A little windy yesterday. Today sunny and in the 60's. And no animals in any pools! Junie, have enough dog beers and you won't notice the sinus probs! Chrissy good luck on your scans, I hate those two and I hope they don't make you wait long for the results. HD, what are you deleting? No doubt it was hilarious and you thought it to be too much?

    Joining K for a mimosa................cHAIRS!

It's a Percotini morning for me.  Body aches galore.  Didn't think I would feel this bad on day 14after chemo.  I guess it's that cumulative effect they talk about; 3rd chemo was 10/13.  Need to go buy a big truck so I can hit back.  UGH.  But I'm so glad I've only got one more chemo on 11/3!
