I am on my way to bed so this will be brief.

CONGRATS BEANS!!!!  You are done with active treatment.  Things will be major looking up in three weeks or so.  Dragging a bit until then, and in your case, sore.

I did a major ski today, so out of action.  That, and was a lot of extra work taking Amanda's husband and son with us.  We got down late, and got yelled at by the x-country ski folks.  But we were fine.  Got a bit of finger frostbite, but nothing serious.

My friend's husband took all of out to dinner at a brewpub, so pea soup is still unmade.

I walk to Tasting Room as just a mile from where I live.  Usually have other errands in the area so drag everything home.

Just got out of a hot bath.  My friend was headed to the tub with lots of Epsom Salts.  She was hurting big time when I dropped all of them off.

Can't wait for some serious time between the sheets.  No, not action but sleep.  Will take my hot water bottle too.  No problem at all taking two regular aspirin either.  May even slather myself in Aspercreme.

You realize I will most likely do it all again Saturday and Sunday, but head straight up this time.

Yahoooooooo Beanie!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled for you!

    Love the funny doctor notes!

Junie where are you with that weather ? If it is coming for Kathy then it will come here next! Yikes.... don't really need more weather...

Had a fun restful day with the kids. Only took us 4 tries on stopping and staring to figure out how to play the board game, "Life" meant for ages 9 and up! Goodness gracious we kept getting confused. Then had a nice fire in the fireplace - yes I remembered to open the damper This time! Even though I do still need to figure out how to clean all the soot off the mantle.  Then watched movies..... sigh. I also have to admit I have become addicted to my son's game app called Angry birds - they just make hilarious noises as they are catapulted thru the air to try and kill the smirking and giggling pigs with helmets. Some of the birds just fly, other can split into three birds, another will speed up if you click it and then there are the ones that turn into bombs and finally the ones that lay exploding eggs. I really don't go for violent games at all but somehow the funny sounds the birds make and the rude pigs that smile and giggle when you fail just makes you want to keep going. I guess all the bacon posts made me think about it in connection with the pigs.

Hope you feel better soon - HD, sorry to mention the b. word again! Good night all!

Claire, my sister and her husband just got back from Quebec skiing. Apparently they were having a great time until this one young woman clobbered her husband and once he got up and was on his way he just passed a sign saying slow down and another young woman clobbered him a second time. That pretty well finished skiing for them and he is still limping. How odd to have it happen twice on the same run.

Her husband is in his early 70's but loves skiing, sailing and golf so he does pretty well.He was diagnosed with a rare form of prostate cancer about 4 years ago and told he only had 3 weeks to live! They went up to Boston for a second opinion they said no it wasn't a rare form and they could operate. Well they did and found out he didn't have prostate cancer at all! However he did have some kind of rectal cancer but had chemo and so far NED. So given only three weeks to now going strong is something for all us of to hang on to.

Sorry it is late so I'm rambling off..... see you all tomorrow....

Wow, Stanzie, what a story about your sister's husband, I can't imagine the family being told he has three weeks left then to find out the doctors were very wrong, must have been a rollar coaster ride for the family - I am so glad to hear he is still hanging in there, great story.  And I am reminded why I hate rude people, I could never bump into an elderly man and not stop to help if I knocked him down. And you go girl, keep blowing up those angry birds! I wish I could get into a video game, I used to be addicted to my daughter's playstation years ago and would wake up and play, come home from work and play and play again before bed.  Those games can be so addicting.  I loved your description of the fun you were having.  And kudos for you in opening the damper, the firemen thank you and commend you too!

I will not post any bacon pics today but want to congratulate Beans again on her milestone, wtg, Beans!

Honky, I hope you are less green today and feeling stronger.

Claire, I hope you had a nice sleep, I bet that you do not sleep very much, you are always on the move, you go girl.  My resolution this year is to get my arse in gear and get active.  My only excersise lately has been lifting a drink to my lips Sealed. Speaking of, I am going to have one of those Slippery Nipples, yummmy....cheers!

Junie, where are you located where you were told to take cover? Yikes, I hope it is not heading this way and hope that it passed by now.  This has been some crazy weather this winter, to say the least.  I am going to stand outside and wait for the bus to pick me up for tonight's festivities.

Chrissy, it is almost 2011 down under, Have a Happy and Healthy New Year my friend.  I miss you here, the bus will be heading your way after we pick up NM.  If I am not mistaken, it is less than 15 minutes until midnight there.

Happy 2011, let the party begin!!

Hi girls!!!! sorry to have been missing for so long, but it's been hard to get the computer away from DGS long enough just to read the posts let alone post myself......sigh!  Never mind I'm here now.....  Dotty.. congrats girl on the twins arriving safely!!!  so good to hear that you are in love with them already...lol! and Beans!!! way to go with finishing up the tanning sessions......hope the skin heals well and the fatigue doesn't hang around too long!  All the other gals, I hope you are all well....me?...I'm truly exhausted!  Even though the boys are old enough not to be a problem, it's just the extra cooking and cleaning that they bring with them...lol.   Did I say cooking?...I feel like I spend half the day in the kitchen...I had forgotten the amount of food two teenage boys put away!  It's enormous!!!  I made the Dutch New Years Eve treat tonight.....and they have all disappeared!  I made Óleybollén and apple flappen.  The öleybollén are a yeast based batter that has black currents in it and it is deep fried and then doused with powdered sugar and the apple flappén is basically apple fritters and again doused with powdered sugar.......yum....thank goodness they only get made once a year as there is a lot of fiddling  involved.

Well it's ten minutes till midnight so I'll wish each and everyone of you a very Safe, Happy, Healthy New Year!!!!

    Love to all.  chrissy

Beans.....loving the "shit creek survivor" T.  Can think of a few more times in life it would have been appropriate attire.

Actually, I do sleep a lot, particularly after intense exercise.  I think I still need a bit more than prior to diagnosis.  So I would say, thay while I certainly don't have "fatigue", I do need more sleep.  I got the rest of my blood work last night, and I can see there that I am still rebuilding.

Stanzie....I can't stand rude people when skiing.  So sorry about your BIL, but I am sure he will get over it.  Relatively few people on the x-country trails.  It was also chilly, as in my fingers got mild frostbite.  I fell getting off the chairlift as had to wait a moment as Amanda skied into my path.  Then I was a few inches off the ground, and of course crashed getting off.  Was fine, only feeling foolish.  I quickly got out of the way so as not to make things worse.

I need to make the soup and pate for tonight's party.  I may bail prior to midnight.  We shall see.

Looking forward to a fab 2011 for all of us.

I am a bad influence.  Just got off the phone with my friend Amanda, and she may be hitting the brandy to help her sore muscles.  This was about 10:30 AM!!!!

I have decided that I want a half bottle of the real stuff for tonight.  I decided not to "wait till midnight", but come home early.  So much to celebrate, and I don't want to be driving back with champagne in me.

Then too, there are only so many perfect ski days.  Tomorrow will be one of them.

Beans, love the pictures and hope non of them are removed by the bc police!  In our world, "shit" is NOT a bad word, it is something we endure every day after having bc and we should be permitted to say it loud.  SHIT!  ok, I said it and I said it loud.  I also love the New Ears, very cute pics! You girls do great with the photos. The only photos I have are of more bacon and I sure do not wanna scare HD away should she pop in!

Claire, I am glad that you sleep.  My DS's are alot like you and always on the go but they never sleep.  Cheers to you for taking such great care of yourself.

I am pondering going out tonight.  The only thing that stops me is the car ride.  I feel every bump.  I think the majority of the pain I am having is coming from the drains.  They are always fine until I shower and I end up knocking them around and they sting so bad.  I think I will refrain from showering for a week if have another surgery with drains.  I will probably join Beans and Lori by the pool but will hit the pill fountain on my way in.

Beans, I saw you in the tami forum, good luck with that. I hope that you are s/e free in 2011. I am doing pretty well with it and hope you do too.

Lori, great photo of NYE down under.  I see Chrissy there. I also liked your party pics and love the cute lil monkey hat! And I popped into your profile and viewed your pics of your hair going and coming back.  I give you a high five for posting those.  That is great for the girls to see who are wondering the time line with hair n chemo.

Barmen, bring some more bubbly, the lounge is getting busy. I will try not to get too drunk at the htl but it IS NYE! Happy Happy Everything to Everyone!!!

Peace and lots of love to all my breast friends ♥

Hey Goldie - Cheers! Tink tink of the bubbly glasses!

Dorothy - I had one of those shitty drains, I don't know how you would manage multiples, that would make me say S, F, C, S, S ,S F, a lot! I'm sorry they sting...when do you get those a**holes removed? yes, I've gone from the crazy train (traveling all over the map for treatments) to the tammy train. I have 30 tammies lined up ready to go and I don't have to travel, but I'm worred about SE's - oh well. Like you say, shit. Oh goodie, you're going for bubbly too! Tink tink! Cheers!

Claire - You're drinking brandy - wowza!! I thought you were the good exercise influence??? Hope you have lots of fun!!

Happy NYE girls.  Congrats Beans!  Dorothy, AStorm, don't worry about the bacon.  I actually like bacon...just not as a cake topper.  LOL!  Pea soup.....NO!  Hope everyone is having a great day.  It is cold here and I am trying to stay warm.  I am quitting the antibiotics Dr put me on.  They are making me sick.  I tried to call, but office is closed.  I think I am on them as prevention anyway so Monday when I go in I will tell him what I did and take my beating.  Don't know why he put me on these different ones but I am not going to feel like SHIT over this weekend.  I missed feeling well Xmas and that is the end of that!  Liked all the pictures.  Dorothy, sorry about the drains.  I understand totally.  Junie, LMAO at the dipped in shit!  Hope you got the hatches secured. Kathy, glad you could save your chicken casserole!  Bet it will be yummy.  Stanzie, we jused to play life all the time.  Easier game than the reality version.  Dee, wow, I asked for a pop in from some no shows and BAM!  Good to see ya?  Lori, nice buffet this morning.  You must have some pull with the tenders.  Happy 2011 Chrissy!  Claire, don't over do it and get puny.  Time to get out of here and have a refreshment. To be honest, I am not in word and can't remember a thing past a few posts.  I'll check in later when the party is rolling!  HD

Karen1956-I love pea soup, need to get a ham bone and start a batch now that you've reminded me! Have a good Shabbat (is that the right form?) and a Happy New Year!

Junie-hope you get through the "fireworks" without damage! We sometimes get "Thunder Snow" here when the conditions are just right-thunder and lightening during a snowstorm. It's pretty freaky when it happens, but it doesn't happen often.

Claire-hope you got some good "between the sheets" time! And remember, medicinal alcohol has been around for a long, long time. Remember "The Recipe" the 2 old ladies used to make on The Waltons?

The Baldwin Sisters, that's the name I couldn't think of!

Stanzie-the Angry Birds game sounds like a lot of fun! I suppose violence isn't so bad if it comes with lots of funny noises. . .

Dee-gas is $3.09 to $3.15 here today. Yeesh. I was out driving and EARNING MONEY, not partying, so, hopefully, I'm a little ahead of the game again!

Beanie-CONGRATS on getting done with rads! And I want one of those T-shirts to go with my FoxrotUnionCharlieKilo Cancer one!  Stick a fork in Beanie, SHE"S DONE!

Chrissy-WTG getting the computer away from DGS for a few! I have this odd mental picture of you fiddling away in your kitchen. . .

Goldie-I'm with you, let's get the partay STARTED!! Such adorable party hats, I can just see them starting a new trend in 2011! Maybe a trend for eatable hats?

Dorothy-The drains are such a pain in the arm hole, aren't they? If only there was some way to glue them in place long enough to get a shower and get dressed without them moving around. Oh, well, maybe someday.

Chrissy lives quite a distance from Sydney, but they prob had a lot of coverage on the tele. Dorothy, either pm me if you want some drain/showering tips, or search on bc.org. Lots of ways to secure them so you can shower! Junie, I am worried about you from the bad weather last night, please check in! Love to all....just got home and headed out again...no rest for the weary. Gotta be ready to partay the night away though!

HonkyD - tanks 4 da congrats - like NM's pic, I'm officially cooked! Happy New Year to you! It is very cold here to so I'm just parked by my heater. I think DH will make a fire in the Living Room again tonight. We're just staying in as usual. It's crazy around here, they opened the beach for clamming and everyone and their uncle's monkeys are here parked around in campers. Then it looks like the water is out. Oye vey. Will see what's up with that. I hate antibiotics. That sucks you have to wait til Monday to talk to your doc. Please take good care this weekend.

AStorm - Love the fireworks in the bottle and the bus it beautiful!!! And more sock monkeys - they will be so fun at the party tonight. Great pics!!

NM - You really outdid yourself this time, such funny pics!!! I love the birds!!! And to pay an arm or leg for gas - that's about it. I paid 3.19 yesterday. Thanks for the cooked bird! I'm an offical 9 mo shit creek survivor!! That's perfect LOL at all this pics!!

Wahine - once again hope you have a fun time, play now, rest later!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee party time is coming soon!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

My friend is doing the brandy-drinking.  I just made the suggestion Laughing  Soup is finally on, so something healthy to mitigate the damage of celebrating.  (And something hot and easy for after tomorrow's ski.)

Need to go out for a walk and a couple of errands.

NM......I used to think I needed a ham bone for pea soup.  Then I discovered ham hocks.  I have them in the pot along with the peas and veggies.  They make a wonderful rich soup.

My cycling club keeps sending out messages about possibly icy conditions for tomorrow's ride.  I want to tell them that time to change sports.  Actually, one member suggested the Polar Bear Plunge.  I will give that one a miss too.

I am also missing the $5 champagne pours at one of the downtown wine bars.  Can't do it all, and better to do a few things well.  Next year, when the ski conditions aren't as wonderful as they are now.  You don't get "perfect" that often.

I need to make the pate for the party too, and need more onions to do it.

I started the day with Green Eggs (eggs with green shells, that is) and Ham.  Hard to top that one for ringing in the New Year.

    Bottomz up!!!! - Claire

I just love all the pics on here today. To many to comment on.  Keep up the great work, girls. Tonight is going to be awesome and lots of fun.  When I popped in the lounge earlier, the staff was hopping in preparation of this evening's par-TAY!!  I have had several glasses of champagne and will be taking a little break and then I am going to face the dreaded shower. I know I will feel much better being squeaky clean and hope not to knock those ef-fing drains around. When they come out, I will be tempted to knock them around some.

I hope to have both out on Monday, we'll see.

I will be back later to check in and see who is here. I actually have images in my mind of hanging with each of you here, I was day dreaming about our party earlier today.  At first I questioned myself and told myself I was weird.  But I am okay with this little fantasy of hanging out with such fun people in the cyber world. Look, it is me, Lori, Beans and Stanzie earlier today, thanks Pants for taking the photo!

DH worries about me and is always saying something funny about what I am doing here on the computer. We are not going out, I will just chill with my darling DH , have a few cocktails and try to stay up until midnight. I had a percocet in the afternoon and one at 6am when I got up, I should be alright to have a few later on tonight. I do not encourage mixing narcotics and alcohol but it IS fun Tongue out.. See ya all in a bit. Happy New Year, oh yeah, bring it ON!!!

Ok, cioppino broth is bubbling, champagne is chilling, cheese is warming, kids have been shuttled, house is actually clean...  I don't usually drink before the guests arive but it has been one heck of a year. Pants! I need some champagne while I take a quick dip and slip into something casual for a small gathering of cioppino eaters.
