Hi all!!! Wow, so much going on!

NM great buffet, can I bring the GS's?

They are eating me out of house and home!!!   I need some help here girls!  Teenage boys....OMG!  do they do anything else but eat and sleep?   I don't think my DS was this bad when he was a teenager but maybe he was....too long ago so the memory maybe has blocked it out....lol....or I've just plain forgotten on purpose.  Oh, looove the drink with the panda face....lol.

Astorm your kitty is soooo cute and purring is a good sign that he's a contented baby....and who wouldn't be?  Check out where he's laying!

Beans you have the best trip ever!  250k on the original engine....WOW! Dreams are good, just make sure that when you dream of sailing one of those gorgeous boats, you make it the best boat ever!

HD hope the syringing gets less and less for you and soon not be needed at all!  Anti-biotics?  Bleeeek!!

Goldie WOW!!!!! I'm truly amazed at what you girls have to pay for Health Care!  I thought $350 per month was a lot but I don't think I'll ever complain again!  For that I have first class hospital, medical and other extras such as dental, optical, physio, massage and quite a few more things as well.

Dotty are you trying to tell me that the pic you posted was you?  Showing off the new girls?  Oh man! (er girl)! How you gonna carry them?........Oh sorry!!!!! I didn't have my glasses on......phew!  It's not you after all......thank goodness for that!!!!!!  Love you girl!

Claire  you continue to amaze and astound me!  I don't know where you get your stamina from, but can you bottle a little bit and send it to me?  I don't think we'll have a problem with customs as I'm pretty sure that stamina is not on the contraband list.

Kathy hope your dinner was successful and that you found enough room to seat everyone.  I love cooking and used to cook for about fifteen every Thursday night.  Just family so we could catch up all in the same place so everyone kept in touch!

Junie way to go!  Having fun and coming home a winner .....yay!!!!!

Stanzie  can't see your avatar yet! Keep trying, you'll get there!

Oh my, have I forgotten anyone?  If so, sorry, I didn't mean to but there were pages to catch up on!  Oh I know, my fault for not being here but I promise I'll be back more often soon.  The boys go home on Wednesday and I have a little hospital visit for a curette of Thursday so hopefully I'll be home in my little house by Saturday as I can't drive for 24 hours after a general anaesthetic. L

For now, I think I'll go relax in the hot tub........anyone want to join me for a natter (talk) and a drink?  Mmmm......what to order?......I think I'll have a slippery nipple as I'm actually missing one....LOL...............TITZ UP!!!   Or should I say TIT UP!!!!

Back to the real world tomorrow...winter vacation is over....I have reports to write, but did zip/zilch/nadda during break, but now I'll be doing them in the evenings....DS leaves for Hawaii bright and early tomorrow morning....DH is going with him at son's request....6am flight....so I am taking them to the airport at 4am....I'll be back home by 5am.....a little earlier than I need to get up, but will shower and relax before I have to leave for work at 7am..  Sitting here watching TV (sort of), visiting bco and enjoying a couple glasses of red wine....the bottle is calling to me to finish it up.....Still need to get ready for tomorrow...get my work bag where I won't foget it and make my lunch....Hugs to all

ChrissyB, nice to see you again and hope you find more time for us once your guests leave.  I loves you too, girly!

Claire, are you having ski withdrawal symptoms today?  You are an amazing woman. I wish I could steal some of your energy. You are truly Super Woman!

Kathy, I hope the tenders took good care of your guests last evening.  I could not entertain the thought of having so many people.  I hope you found a place to put everyone and that all had a great time.

Goldie, I hope it has warmed up some there.  We had a very mild weekend, it the 50's but it is back to normal today, now at 27.  I can't believe that it got so darn cold there, I always thought that it was mild in the winter there. Have a spendid day and stay warm.

HD, good luck at work today and I hope that you are feeling well.  Good luck at the doctors.  I have an appointment myself at 10:45 and am praying that I loose they ouchy damn drains. They are bothering me again quite bad.

Beans, Beanius Bean-bean, good luck at your tammy ride.  A few of us are riding with you and will fan you down if needed.  Here is hoping you do not need us though.  I wish you all the best for a SE free ride.

Junie, wtg on winning on 1/1/11 and I hope to join you at the casino sometime this month. DH loves AC and we are hoping to spend a Friday night there this month.  If we win big, we will pay for all of your health insurance premiums for the year! Aren't I generous with dh's money??

NM, waiting here for the dotd, I am thirsty for something yummy and pretty.  I just loved the breakfast the boys served yesterday and am wondering if there are left overs for today??

Karen, I hope you have a good work day. It sounds like you had a nice break.  Don't forget your work bag and your lunch!

Stanzie, nice avatar, looking good. I am sorry you are not feeling well and hope you feel better quickly.  The tenders are available to take care of you and give you a back rub, get ready!

To all, have a super day.   I will try to pop in later, hopefully without drains sticking out of my body.  God knows, I hate them.

Peace, comfort and love to all of my girls here!! See you all at the lounge.  Cheers and titty's up!

Crissy-bring anyone you want! And I'll have the Tenders and Wenches pack up the leftovers to send home with you!

    That's ROOT beer, btw!

Plan for the day: appointment with the BS, get the go-buggy's oil changed, see what time it is when I get home. Maybe rack off the fennel and cranberry wines that are cooking. Maybe take Sadie to the dog park. We'll see.

    DOTD--the Doctor's Appointment:

    3/4 oz Dark Rum
    1 1/2 oz Swedish Punsch
    3/4 oz (fresh) Lime Juice

Kathy, I hope your party went ok. Just know you, I'm sure it did. I also hope things work out with her and her new hubby. As for our water, I don't know much about plumbing, but in our case, we have an on demand water heater and the hot and cold each have their own lines. Also the pipe that was used was not pvc or copper, it was some new kind of stuff that is capable of expanding and contracting. I forget what it's called.

Beans, have fun on your little get away. I do hope you have sunshine. But I know you will have a good time. We are done shopping around for insurance, no one will take us. All they say is "hang on to what you have"!

HD, good luck at the docs today and don't work too hard. I too put away all the Xmas decos.

Astorm, that was sweet of you to take care of that "left over" champagne!

Stanzie, sorry you are not feeling well. Seems like these bugs are making their rounds with us. I can't quite tell what your new avatar is.

LOL @ chrissy and those teen age boys. They may be eating machines but I'll bet you are enjoying every second of it! And good advice for Beans. "If you're gonna dream, might as well DREAM BIG!". As for my insurance, that doesn't cover dental or optical. We don't even have insurance for that, so that is paid for out of pocket as well!

Happy Monday and back to work day!

Dorothy / NM, you were both posting at the same time as me. Dorothy, I live in the mountains in AZ at 6000'. So we do get all 4 seasons. I hope you get to get rid of the drains today, good luck with that.

NM, so sweet of you to have those left-overs packed up for Chrissy's GS's. I am sure they will woof it all down. And glad you clarified the Root Beer! Cute. Good luck on your doc visit as well. Oooooo yum, cranberry wine! I sure wish we could sample all of what you have made. What has been the best?

Good morning girlz! THANK YOU, thank you, thank you all for lending me the TT's last night to help with my dinner party. It well amazingly well, as I cooked for 2 days, so other than the 2 8# turkey breasts that DH roasted, it was simply heat up the hot dishes, and take all the cold dishes out of the fridge. Tried a new sweet potato/apple casserole that was yummy. BUT then 2 (stepdau & fiance) did not show up, so seating was not a problem. Now I wonder if they really are getting married on Wed....want to be there if only to believe it!

Chrissy, I raised girls, so no idea about how much teen boys can eat! Bet you have had to be very creative with meals...you no doubt will be relieved when they return home, but will look back on this time as something very special to be cherished. Have to admit, I didn't know what "curette" meant (googled it), and is that a biopsy? Hope that goes well. Looks like many dr appts this week for all....esp today, but will be thinking of you on Thurs as well (or Wed here). (((HUGS))) for taking such good care of your grandsons!

NM, purrfect DOTD again....with all the dr visits today, and the rest of the week. Wonder what swedish punch is? If I drink the "Doctor's Appt" drink, will it also keep me from having to go?? Your wines sound yummy, if you need help trying them, let me know! Hope your BS appt goes well (that sounds wrong doesn't it....like bull $hit!). I see my BS next week.... 1/11/11 at 1pm...how neat is that! Beans, Hope Tammy is nice to you, and gives you no SE's. Want you to be feeling great for your road trip this week! Is this the trip where you will see your new niece? That will be so exciting!!

ALthough the dinner went well, and we all had a great time, I am very concerned about my mom, so will need to check on a few things today. Might be her meds. We should have driven them home, as she had trouble getting into the gated community and they were out in the cold knocking on the gate keepers door (and we are just 3/4 mi away...would have been easy to drive their (our) car and follow in another car). It was in the 20's, so I know that was cold! Will have DH check her meds when he is there in a little bit....he and son-in-law will help move some stuff. So glad now that we (or just me if DH needs to stay with dogs) are going to AK with them this month, as now I wonder if they could have made the trip alone. Very sad & disturbing to me.

    Ciao chicas! Titz up!

HD - Hope you have an easy day at work! Don't be too envious of my pipe dreams!! DH and I have so many plans that go nowhere. We did have beautiful weather yesterday and a fun couple of hours IN THE SUN on the beach. Problem is when we "take a trip" we are making no $$ so have to plan carefully - this economy sucks still! Then today I cut up a Tammy pill and took 1/4 of it and burst into tears. I'm so scared. I was just starting to feel better after chemo and rads, now I have to start a whole new round of ??? I'm quite upset with 5 x 365 = 1,825 days of this med. I hate pills and all of this so much. I was too scared to take a whole 20 mg, so I took about 5 mg. Hoping for the best. I was so happy to read you are feeling better!!! Take care my sweet HD!!!

AStorm - I spent part of the last two days doing laundry and cleaning. I love everything all clean. With my post rad boob, it's hard to keep clothes clean. I'm using aquafore and Neosporin and then old t-shirts cause I'm so greasy! I'm hoping to get to CA to visit my new niece and other fam, but news reports are of bad weather. Right now the weather turned nice here so will stay put till it gets sheety again. My plan was to take a couple weeks off then go full speed when I get back. Hope your full speed goes well! Whether that avatar kitty is laughing or whining, I thought it looked sassy and I think I need a lot of sass to go forward. I hope you find a laughing corgi pic, would love to see that!! Thanks for encouragement about tamoxifen. Chemo got about 1/4 to 1/3 of my hair and it's not noticeable except to me, I had a lot to begin with, so maybe it'll get even thinner. As for weight, I'll keep my fingers crossed. I weigh myself every day to make sure I'm not up and if I am I watch the calories that day to get back down. I've been holding pretty steady, but still could stand to lose 5 to 10. Flo left me after chemo cycle 2, hope she don't return (I'm 53). I'll never forget turning 50 and my Dad was having some senior dimensia and I told him I had just turned 50 and he smiled and said, "you don't look a day over 49." I thought that was hysterical! He was 91 or so at the time. I love all your pics and that orange kitty looks just like my old orange tabby. Soooo cute! Have a great day!

Claire -so you didn't drink the whole bottle of brandy??? Ha ha...I'm envious of all your skiing, but will have to wait on that. I just can't stand the cold this winter, so must find warm sun! 5 years in WA has gotten to me! Good for you for staying so active and having fun.

Stanzie - So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well! Your new avatar is a godess in the snow?? Can't tell for sure...Anyway, its good to hear from you and I hope you feel better soon!!!

Chrissy - Those teenage boys remind me of my own DH! I can't believe how much one guy can put away,( but he is tall and very active). I make what I think is a huge dinner and then poof it's all gone!! My dream boat is super fine, but what we end up with in reality could be a disaster. You know the saying, "the best thing about a boat is the day you get it and the day you get rid of it." Glad your insurance is affordable and you get good care!! Wishing you the best on Thursday and it will be nice to get back home Saturday!! Take care!! (I had to do a search on curette, too, is it a biopsy or what? Hope that all goes well for you.)

Karen - Sounds like you had a nice eve and a busy day today! Hope it all goes well!!

Dorothy -  You write such fun stuff!! I saw your post on the B o' T thread and it was so cute, that place has a lot going on, kind of hard to keep up with, but looks like a fun group! Thanks for your tammy well wishes. Hope it's a good ride!!! Thanks for the encouragement!!!!

NM - Pizza and ROOT beer sounds great for the kids (can I have my pizza with DOG beer please?? I'm over 50 - he he he). Hope your BS apt goes well, and glad to hear the buggy is getting cared for too. Fennel and cranberry wines sound so good and Sadie to the park sounds darn fun!! Thanks for the DOTD! Loooks great!! I always like Punsch, whether it's Swedish, Hawaiian, don't matter to me!

Goldie - thanks for the well wishes for our trip...we have had days of endless rain and hail, then just when we had enough, the sky opened up with beautiful blue and so much sunshine...so we'll probably stick around here until it starts to rain again, it's darn cold, but the sun is glorious! My insurance doesn't cover dental or optical either, I just pay cash for those. Fun stuff. Actually I quit going to get eye exams and now just buy the readers at the drug store. I am fanatical about teeth cleanings though. I go every six months as with teeth, preventative maintenance is key to low cost IMHO.

Wahine - so glad your dinner went well...curious about the stepdau and fiancé??? Keep us posted. I'm so sorry to hear you have worries about your mom. Sure hope she's okay and good idea to check meds to make sure those are all right. Also hope your BS (yes, sounds like BS) appointment goes smoothly too next week. Wow! 1-11-11 @ 1 Wow! As for Tammy I think I was smart to try just a quarter tab at first...I might try that for a few days and build up...5 years - oye vey!!! Well I sure will be hoping the best for your Mom and you and for all of us chicas!!!

Dorothy - hope you do get the drains out.

Kathy, I don't know if it helps but my gate refuses to work when it gets really cold so perhaps it was mechanical rather than meds?? Your stepD and finacee just didn't show up?? that doesn't sound very nice and wow what have I missed you aren't sure if they are getting married on Wed? How can that be?

Sorry the Avatar looked so much better bigger. It is a statue of Arora -goddess of dawn all covered in snow. I got her for my pool as when we designed the pool, he put in a place for a stature. The one he was thinking of had these really odd big hands so I vetoed it and then found this and loved it even though my kids thought it was a bit "awkward" as they say these days.

NM - thinking about you on this Dr. apt. hope this one isn't the one with those dreaded needles.

I'm just getting started on learning how much teenage boys eat - they are 14. My daughter still only picks at food -well that is unless it has sugar in it! LOL

still not feeling great will go for a massage as long as their hands last...... AH, now that is much nice....... then the hot tub I think!

    Good morning ladies!!!!

I am actually glad not to be going anywhere as think I am in a total body spasm from all the skiing!!!  I need to put on some hair color this AM as ski-head hair is the pits.  The person I do this work for sent out the old year by falling on the ice......concussion and broken wrist!!!

Beans....enjoy the sunshine.  Should be glorious setting off.

Goldie....frozen pipes usually happen because they fail to insulate pipes on outside walls.  So make sure that gets fixed too.

I have the oncologist tomorrow too.  I have to fill out a QOL form for one of the studies I participated in.  It askes about muscle aches and numbness in fingers.  Well, I ache all over and my fingers were quite numb when they got frostbite last week.

Back to work.....with hair color in between.  Need to spiff up my image, and possibly get the car to the car wash.  How to put it....you can tell I have been skiing!!! - Claire

Cathy and Beans, the curette for me is both clean out and biopsy of the uterus.  I have a large fibroid that is surrounded by fluid and I've been getting a bit of a yucky discharge so the gyno says rather than dive in and do a hyster straight up he'd rather find out first if there is any nasty little cells in there.  If there is then it will mean a hyster that will include nodes etc, if there are none, then the fibroid will be gone and so will the discharge.......hope I haven't given TMI for anyone........and I shouldn't have anymore problems.  It's no big deal really, into hospital at 2.30pm and I'll be home at my DD's house by 6.00 or there abouts.

Beans don't be afraid of Tammy, a lot of people don't have any SE's at all and it will safe guard you.  Just think of it as the good guy waiting in the alley for the bad guy to show up so the good guy can dispose of him.

Stanzie - I think your godess in the snow is beautiful! Nice choice.

Claire -good luck tomorrow with you oncologist and hope your muscles feel better quick.

Chrissy - Thank you, thank you!! That is such good advice, I've been trying to get the right attitude going. Everything has gone so fast this year - finding lump, finding out it's IDC, all the surgeries and tests, then whamo chemo, then whamo rads, then I'm still peeling from rads and sticll a bit foggy brained from chemo and have to start a whole new chemical. But you are absolutely right it's doing and important job for me - a good guy!! Thanks so much and I sure hope your procedure goes well!! You sure have a great attitude.

Oh Beans, I would be weary of all that too....good idea to start slow on the Tammy....but you may want to get to full strength soon so it can keep the "bad guys" away. Nice that you have good weather where you are now...but hope you can make that trip to see your niece soon!!!

Stanzie, Thanks for the info, but their gate is for 50+ homes, so the "gate keeper" usually keeps it in top notch condition. I think she just entered the codes wrong, but got a new "clicker" remote this morn. Don't know where their other one disappeared to, but am finding that happening with a lot of things. She sounded like normal this morning, so am hoping for the best! I remember that beautiful statue! Wish I had taken pics of your fantastic huge formal gardens....went on forever...and the pool and fountain. Was just so excited to meet you that I didn't think of pics till the ones we took later on! You have an amazing place there. Oh, stepdau is getting married at the courthouse, not even sure they decided on a time. I thought instead of early morn (like we first were told), if it is closer to lunch time at least we can take them out for a nice lunch, or later in the day and go for dinner. But from past history, we can't depend on anything she tells us!

Chrissy, Um, yeah, sorta TMI, but we did ask, so you were right to answer! Hope it all goes well, and am glad that now fibroids do not mean an immediate hyster like in yrs past. My gyn said I had to have a hyster even though I had not symptoms.....just fibroid(s)....and I regret doing that as I was in early 40's.

Ciao for Niao! (BTW where is our WA gal Connie that always wrote that???)

chrissy - my sister had a huge fibroid - the size of a grapefruit but she did just fine only was bummed she didn't lose a lot of weight from it. Will be thinking of you.

Beanie - so sorry about all the med but like Chrissy said think of it at prevention rather than more treatment. My cousin was on it and had no side effects at all, so was my aunt with no problems. So I'm thinking you'll keep that pretty hair.

From little bits I'm thinking most of us ( not Kittycat) are around 50. Sorry if I have totally missed a bunch of young people having trouble totally keeping up. But just thought at least it was interesting to have so many around the same age.... perhaps it is the topic!

My son had a friend over and they were laughing hysterically over a you tube video about some game. Apparently it is an extremely hard game but the guy that is narrating it while he tries to play the game is really funny but warning - terrible language is used for those easlily offended but what struck me is when he ( with a very low voice ) will stick in the "Oh my goodness, or Oh my". It is called :the hardest game ever QWOP commentary.

I could take the cold if I didn't have the headache to go with it...... hate headaches.

Beanie - hope you get in some relaxing time! You so deserve it. I need a system for commenting on everything.

Wahine - thanks for the sweet words about the yard- too bad I'm killing everything( not on purpose, of course) just how to manage? Sorry about your Mom, I hope it isn't anything bad...... I know you must be worried.

Good appointment with the BS.  She said I can cut down to once a year, but I'm going back in 6 months, maybe I can cut back to once a year then.  I thought I'd be happy to have all these appointments spacing out, but it actually makes me feel anxious instead.  Dang if I understand myself these days.  Go-buggy's got new oil, new air filter, and new windshield washer fluid as well as a full tank of gas, which cost almost $40.  I can remember when $20 would fill the tank twice! Poor Sadie didn't get to the dog pak today, I didn't get home as early as I thought I would and the wind chill has been running around 3 below the donut. Just a bit too cold to stand around watching her run around!  Even thinking about it makes me shiver!  I'm headed for the hot tub, someone send one of the Tenders or Wenches over with a pitcher of something potent and tasty.  Or maybe an extra Prozac.  I got a good report from the the BS, a couple of stitch granulomas (small hard round bumps on the incision line, reaction to the stitches) but no sign of recurrence, healthy flap tissue (the new boobs), so why am I sitting here crying???

I really do not understand myself lately.

NM I can understand the crying too....lotsa stress, even when the visit goes well! Just relax, and we will send Pants over to do a whole body massage.....that should do the trick!

Well, tonight has been one disaster after another. As soon as DD and family left tonight, they got a call and his parents home (that they rent out) burned beyond repair...luckily the tenants (with baby) got out safely. His parents live out of state, so we offered the townhouse to them if they need to come and take care of things.

THEN, I just got a call from our lovely junie. She is in the HOSPITAL! Went by ambulance last night, had a collapsed lung, and already had surgery today. She sounded good, a little weak, but wanted me to let you all know where she was, since she might not be posting for awhile. I say lets get on the bus and get on over to AR and visit her in the hospital and make sure they are taking good care of her! Also, want to send lots of prayers and good wishes her way!!!! Junie we love you and miss you here, and can't wait till you are back to normal again!!!

Well, gotta go....haven't been home long myself. Hope everyone is doing well, and please keep junie in your prayers! I will update here, if I hear anything else.

Kathy - oh my gosh! That is just awful about his parent's rental home - how very scary but thank goodness everyone is alright. Wow, what a day! Tomorrow will have to be much better for everyone!

    Beanie - hang in there!

Kathy, will understand if you need several stiff ones tonight.  Thankfully the tenants got out OK.  But what a shock.

Also about Junie and will certainly offer up prayers.

Not much else to offer at the moment.  Wishing the rest of us a good and uneventful evening. - Claire

Too tired tonight to consider even one glass of wine!!!  Ended up with less than an hour sleep last night.....Stayed up late while son was out celebrating his last night in Denver...he got home around 10:30 totally blitzed only to be going out with another friend to a park near the house to snow board!!!!  So of course I couldn't go to sleep....by the time he got home after midnight, I wan't tired so was on the computer trying to make a photog book for older DD....lost track of time...finally decide I best crawl into bed....as I walk into the bedroom, I see the bathroom light on,....it was 3 am and hubby was getting up...so I lay down in bed for about 50 min.  My guys were leaving on 6am flights for Hawaii so needed to leave for the airport at 4am...didn't get out till 4:15...its about 1/2 hour each way, so was home by 5:15...but not enough time to take a nap before work....so its time to crawl into bed now at 11:00pm...Going to take an Ambien and hope I sleep til morning.  NIght all.....

Kathy, I hope mom is ok. You say you may be going to AK without your hubby? That would be awful. Glad your dinner turned out ok, but wasn't it for your step-daughter and her fiancé? ....and then they didn't show up?

Beans, glad you decided to wait for your trip, weather in CA sounds awful. As for your new Tammy pill, I wouldn't think that the SE's would hit right away. Mine didn't on the arimidex, it all happened over a period of time. I just love the fact that to keep the cancer at bay, I risk breaking my hip, having heart problems, gaining weight, and high cholesterol! WTF!

Stanzie, sorry you are still not feeling well. Hope you are better real soon. How are things going with the bus driver? Must be going ok, I hope!

Chrissy, great way to help ease our little Bean's mind on Tammy. Well done! Wishing you all the best and no bad guys for your "curette".

Awwwww, big hugs for you NM. I'm sorry you are feeling in the dumps. Glad you got good reports and all that work done on the go-buggy. I am sure Sadie understands, and there will be plenty of other days when you's can go to the park. Maybe you are just feeling over whelmed. What ever it is, I hope it doesn't stick around long.

OH GOSH, just got to your post on Junie. Thank you so much for letting us know Kathy. Junie, get well fast.......we love and miss you. I'll send over some Dog Beers for you. Kathy, sorry to hear about that fire, but glad no one was hurt.

HD, I'll join you on that jet! How'd your appt go?

Karen, hope you got some sleep! I have been up since 2 am myself. So needless to say, I will be in bed early tonight. But my issues are not kid related!

For everyone with doctor appointments this week.......GOOD LUCK!

HD are you feeling a bit better?  I hope so. Are you done with taking the anti-biotics?

Beans hows the aftermath of the tanning sessions going?  getting better each day I hope.

    hi girls,

Happy Tuesday to all, let's hope today is a better day.  I am sending a hug to Beans, our dear Junie and to NM, I am very sorry to hear you girls are having a hard time.

Junie, I hope you feel better and get home soon. Thanks for passing the info, let us know if you need anything at all.  You have my prayers.

NM, I am sorry you are feeling down.  You will be just fine.  We all have momemts like you are having and know the pain.  Please know that we are on your side and praying for you to be well.  If you need to cry, let it out.  As Barney the dinosaur said, "although your face is wetter, you'll feel much better, it's ok to cry".

A hug for each of you:

And Beans, I am not a doctor or an onc but I think you should just go ahead and take the whole tammy pill, you will feel nothing, I promise. If you need me to come and hold your hand for a few days, i can be there for you. I just love all you girls and hate to see any of you suffer.

Kathy, OMG, what terrible news.  I am glad no one is hurt and that the family escaped without harm. It makes us count our blessing, it could have been worse.

Crissy, I hope you are able to escape the hyst, I will be thinking of you and am sending you positive vibes.  you are a sweet girl and I always think about you. I loved your explanation of the tammy and the good guys and bad guys, you are too cute! Have a stellar day, my friend.

HD, how did you doc appointment go, did I miss something?  I also hope that you are doing well and feeling great!

Girls, I did get my drains out yesterday, wooooo hooooo!  Last night as I was getting ready for bed, I thought that I would change my bandages from the drain holes and omgawd, the scab was sticking to the gauze and when I pulled it, it started draining, all over my clothes again.  yikes, I thought I was done with that.  The prior night, I had twice knocked of the drain cap and spilled all of that yucky stuff all over me.  I could not believe that I had that shit running all over me yet again! I have not touched them yet today, I know I need to change the gauze but am thinking at the moment, if it ain't dripping, it ain't getting changed. The drains really turn my stomach. I could elaborate at the specifics but will spare you all the grossness of my body parts in a bottle. Good riddance, drains! Hope to never have them again.

I think I am going to stop in the lounge and have a bottle of jd and drink it with a straw!  Anyone wanna join me?

To all, have a wonderful day.  You girls are the best and I feel so grateful to have found you all.  Take care!! Barmen, send my girls a round of their favorite drinks Smile

Dorothy, oh my how horrid to have the scab stick to the dressing, then start draining again! Geezzzzz that sucks big time. Would it help to wet the dressing first so the scab won't stick? Are you using the non-stick dressing? Drains are bad enuf, but then to STILL have probs with it, is just miserable. You mentioned having caps on your drains when you had them? That must be something new, as I don't remember that.....but then again I don't remember how mine were contained...sorta thought mine had a clamp? Very fuzzy on that though! Hoping there is NO MORE DRAINAGE for you!!!!

Lori, the dinner party was a delayed Christmas get-together, since my parents are here, and youngest DD and family came in from TX. SO all of family were here, exc for stepdau. Par for the course though. Had another belated Christmas with DD and family here, sev days after Christmas, which helped so we could exch gifts then and not try to have everyone do it at once here. Will let you know if stepdau really does get married tomorrah. Yeah, would not be fun going to Alaska sans DH, but if temps are gonna be too low, he will stay home w/ the dogs....we have never boarded them. But its just a visit w/ my bro and sil. Still have snow there? Hope it has gotten warmer!

Junie, as you will see when you get to read all these messages, you have touched a lot of gals here! Everyone misses you and sends you the best, and Lori even thought of sending dog beers to you! I will update here when I know anything new. So glad HD thought of getting the JET so we can get to you quicker!!!! Hope you feel better today and can see if there are any cute doctors, or interns, or hunky male nurses. Take care, rest, get well, and get ready for all the hugs and love coming your way!

WB kittycat....missed hearing from you! Hope things are going well. Chrissy, so glad you are not near that flooding, and hope you don't get any of that where you are. So dreadful. We just get bits and pieces on the news, but it looks devastating....and such huge areas, entire towns, affected. You are a dear, and we are so glad you are with us here at the HTL. Do the g'sons go home today? You need a long nap and GR8 massage after that, and b4 your dr visit.

Beans, are you taking a full pill now? Looks like good words of encouragement from the girlz....I don't know anything about it, so can't help there. But I do send (((hugs))) and support!

Everyone else, take care, have a good day! Hope the dr visits are going well. And HD, hope you are on the mend and doing much better today!

    Hugs to you all,

    Kathy

Here I am at work.  Low grade fever but intact.  New antibiotic for 10 days.  I'll be fine....it is Junie I am worried about.  Kathy, thanks for keeping us updated.  Sorry also you had such a crap day.  Sounds like all of us had not so good a day.  Glad the fire did not kill anyone also.  So dangerous.  Beans, take the whole thing...think of it as a Reeses Peanut butter cup.  Well, don't chew it.  Seriously, you will be fine!  Dorothy, I know all about the drains, the clots, etc.  Can't gross me out, and I am sorry you had to spill.  I never had any problem after removal with the area.  I can't help you with that...keep it clean though and changed...don't let infection get ya!  Hugs!  Chrissy, you are such a comfort to so many of us it is awesome! I think we all kinda have each others backs though!  Hi Lori, I shoulda signed on last night because I was up from 1-3am!  I hate that as I am back at work.  NM, I feel and understand your anxiety.  I know I feel that way also.  I am particularly anxious as I have not even seen my new oncologist yet.  That should be interesting when it happens.  Hang in there!  Claire, good luck at your appt today!  AStorm, thanks so much for that parfait.  I am taking my probiotics like clockwork too!  Hope you are doing fine.  Stanzie, hope your feeling better.  I think we all need some up time.  Sorry, I know I am missing many but I am at work and you are paying my salary!  So, buh bye for now!  HD

Wahine-thanks for letting us know about Junie. Any idea what happened? Is the bc related? Adding her name to my prayer list and your family, too. This is such a hard time to have something like a house fire happen. I'm glad all the people got out without harm.  The Angel of Protection must have been watching over them.

Beanie-thanks for the paper towel idea, my box of Kleenex was running low. Now I'm not sure if I'm crying for myself or for Junie. Isn't this cancer thing supposed to get better after a while? And when is "a while"?

Karen-I hope you got a good night's sleep, sounds like you really need one!

Goldie-so you're part of the up-all-night-crew, too? It seems insomnia is running rampant in the lounge tonight! I slept, but I had chemical assistance, xanax and 2 glasses of wine. Even so, Sadie managed to get me up twice to go potty. Somehow she always seems to know what nights I've drugged myself and makes me get up at least once! I swear she'd find a way to dial 911 if she couldn't get me up

Chrissy-you're probably right, I must have gotten myself more wound up that I thought I had. I thought this would be an easy appointment since there was no mammogram involved. Maybe after another January goes by without the mammogram horror I'll get over this. Maybe. But I'm betting my massage appointment tomorrow will help a lot!

Dorothy-you're right about a good cry, my poor Sadie wound up with a wet spot where I cried myself to sleep on her last night. It always amazes me how she knows when I need a good cuddle at bedtime. Congrats on getting the drains out! Try taking the dressings off in the shower. Let them get good and wet and they won't stick as much, and any drainage that may be there (and it's common for a couple days until the hole seals over) will be washed right away. Let soapy water run over the spots to clean them out without stinging. If you have some telfa use that, it won't stick to the forming scab. You can also put a layer of antibiotic ointment on the gauze before putting it on for the same reason. In a couple more days the whole drain thing will be over with! Yeah!

I think the DOTD should be the Insomniac:

    1/2 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
    1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur
    2 oz Cream
    2 oz Milk
    3 oz Espresso
    1 tbsp Instant

Hunky-so sorry to hear you're on antibiotics again. Hope you are not feeling too badly.
