I was at the wine bar.  Looks like my birthday outing will be a free screening of a Johnny Depp pic with wine of course.

Then the lady performing (Alice) is hooking up with some other, and I think the gig will be called Dr Bliss and the Vam-pets.  Too much.

Back for some soup and an early night.

I am not making this up.  True, I had wine, but not that much.

Still praying that Junie is Ok, and thrilled to hear from you Beans.

I can't wait to go skiing, hopefully this weekend.  Have m PIE DAY plans in motion.  Amanda makes a walnut one, I do a mixed berry.  YUM!!!  Do I have with "refreshments"???

Beans, while I am glad you are having so much fun, my selfish self-self wants u back at the lounge. I think the wenches ever miss you. Well DH is calling my name and I am portending not to hear him. I best go to the kitchen, eat drink and be Mary. Then sleep.  Gosh, I think I napped toooo long today.  Goodnight my friends.  And HD, the coffee bar sounds good now but I am wired. I hope it is open tomorrow.  Happy Snowstorm!!

Good morning, loungettes!  I'm just popping in for a quick cup of gourmet coffee before going back to bed.  Snow day here, again.  Making up all this lost time is going to be annoying, to say the least.  I am sooo tired, going to join Sadie back in bed shortly.

Praying for Junie's recovery, and please add my name to the next card going her way!  So glad she did well with surgery, and toasting her quick recovery.

The Iron Butterfly looks intriguing.  I don't usually drink vodka, I got royally hung over in college (after getting royally drunk at a dorm party, of course) drinking Screwdrivers and tend to be leary of vodka ever since.  But I might just have to try this drink, it's small, how much damage can it do?  (Nobody answer that question, please!)

I Love the Wine Bar, too!  Can I send in a few bottles of my wines to the Wine Bar?

OK, I am too tired to post anymore.  I need a nap.

Guten Morgen! Cold day here, all covered in snow except for pavement, roads, etc. Looks like you have gotten a lot more snow, NM, and Dorothy! Must be pretty bad there, for schools to be closed. Ours are all opening a couple of hrs late today. How nice to snuggle with Sadie! Mine are outside furbabies, but of course I had them in the garage on their warm beds last night, and right now they are on their beds in the kitchen. Oh, what a dog's life! Yes, of course, puleez bring some of your homemade wines to our wine bar. What fun! I think a lot of us have wanted to try them. Stay warm today and hope you don't have to shovel too much!

Dorothy, aka Beans2.....you have learned beanglish so well! Loved your funny posts last night. Glad you and your DH made up, and I bet the steaks were ummmm, ummmm good! No, no, no, I am NOT going to ask how good anything else was last night. You know what they say about makeup $ex!

HD, and all our other "working gals", hope today is a good one, and ALMOST the weekend! TGIF!!!! Do we have a TGIF DOTD for today??? Lori, have safe travels today, and hope that new person will fit in with your company! Junie, many more prayers being sent your way! Take it easy, don't overdo, but I guess the nurses will get you up and moving right away. Use the pain meds as needed! We will have the percoset fountain going, when you return here. Dee, how are you doing? Hope you will come back and stay awhile! You too, jaybird! Chrissy, ?rednu nwod sgniht era woH. Miss ya!

Yeah, the 2 to 3 inches got upgraded when the storm track unexpectedly moved.  So far today I've gotten a good 12 inches, and it's supposed to start comeing down at 3 inches and hour this pm, and it's well on the way to hitting that mark.  It's going to be a pain making up the lost time, but catching up on sleep sure felt good!

    Hi Girlz,

The here was a joke. We were expected to get at least six inches and I  woke up to maybe an inch if that. The storm did track further north to NM land. I am glad as I am really over the snow.

Glad you enjoyed my entertainment last night. I was drinking for real. DH and I always fight over the same thing, my little dog. She was adopted after being subject to abuse including torture and starvation and is a very edgy and scared little girl.  DH likes to torment her and calls her "it". He was against me adopting her but I just love her to death. I got so mad at him that I left and went outside too my little heated "shack".  I have TV, AC and a nice little desk and chair in there and even have telephone. He kept calling me and I would just hang up on him. I have never done that before but I was sooooo mad. Needless to say, he was so very sorry about his behavior and we did make up. I did something for the first time since BMX last night and went to bed with him with no shirt. Of course I only had candle light so he could not see much but it was nice. I will not further elaborate.  We will see if he is mean to my little baby tonight when he gets home but hopefully, he has learned.

Here is a pic of her, I got her three years ago this month and she is a very loving little girl. She is missing most of her teeth from being starved.  I just love her and can't stand to see her further tortured.

Karen, it was fun partying with you last night. I am glad the wine put you into a good sleep.  You deserve lots of rest and I hope that this weekend brings you plenty of good sleep.

I am thinking about Junie and praying for a quick recovery for her. I cringe to think of her in the hospital all this time.  I have never been more than two nights and can not imagine how home sick she must be.

Kathy, I hope you are having fun playing single.  I admire that you do so much.  Can you come here and do some caulking? I have what I think is a funny story about caulking.  I was single when I bought my first home and when I sold it, the new owners had a list of required repairs and once was caulking the bathtub.  Well I did it myself and did a horrible job.  So I tried to fix it by opening another container of caulk and by the time I was done, the caulk was so thick and ugly. But they got what they asked for, it was sealed properly. I wish I had a photo of the terrible job I did but I crack up thinking what I did to those poor people. Maybe you had to have seen it to appreciate the humor. The pic below looks like a great job next to the mess i made.

Well I am going to hop in the hot tub for a bit and warm up. It is going to get so cold here. Come on Spring, get here already!

I will be working on my pies tonight for pie day.  I hope to have a large turn out for our Pie Party. And speaking of parties, when is your bday Claire? I look forward to your party and will join you at the movie premiere! Sounds glam!!

Work has been the gift that keeps giving with unpleasant surprises, and it's RAINING in the mountains so no skiing.  YIKES.

I put sherry in the rest of the pea soup which I just had for lunch.

Wish I had skiing to look forward to.......

Finally.....happy hour!! DH will be home soon.....its so funny how much he says he misses me everytime he calls, but I sorta enjoy being alone for awhile. He did make some money at the casinos, yay!!! Dorothy, caulking is easy....I had to learn it and have done it a gazillion times. The trick is cutting the nozzle how thick/thin you want the caulk to come out; use a caulk gun; I also tape both sides of the areas I want to caulk so I get a nice, clean line. Then you go over it with a finger dipped in water. This was tricky as it is around marble panels at the bottom of the shower, and the floor is rough, so I could not get as neat a line as I wanted to. NOW if only DH would squegee (sp?) everytime, then the caulk would not get dark spots and I wouldn't have to redo it!!! Your furbaby is ADORABLE!!! What is her name? I am so glad you rescued her; ours are rescued dogs too. BUT you mentioned maybe your DH learned not to be mean to her.....do you realize he had makeup sex last night???? LOL. He might do that again to have the same end result, but I hope not! Cute that you have a little escape place! Oh, and I forgot to mention, that is so extra-special that you adopted her, with her missing teeth. She was fortunate to get a good home, and I am sure she gives you lots of love in return. Join me in a Jack/Diet Coke??????

Stanzie, You really do not have to put up with that SO, I mean SOB! I think he should treat you much better than he seems to be doing. Well, just vent here, and we can "trash talk" about him, and maybe that will diffuse the situation. But you are a beautiful woman, inside and out, and I am hoping you will find someone who will be good to you.

Time to partay! Friday night!!! Woo Hoo!!!! Let's get this partay started!!!

    TITZ UP,

    Kathy

    Hi girls,

Wow, I had a hard time getting into here this evening. I still cannot access through firefox.  I get a popup message about taking a survey. I first said no thanks but then it takes me to the same screen.  So I finally gave up about ten minutes, did the survey, hit submit and it again took me back to the page asking me to complete the survey.  Is anyone else getting that? I got in (duh right) but am on internet explorer.

I just got to the lounge and omg, it smells like pies cooking.  The tenders and wenches are so busy getting ready for pie day tomorrow.  And I thought I had to bake my own pie, woooo hoo!

I told them about Claire's birthday that she was trying to hide from us.  They are already on the phone and inquiring about some men in skis what will do a little dance in their skis then strip,oh yeah!

I am thinking about Junie and hoping all is going well and that she is not in pain.

Well I am going to visit the fukitol fountain then go to the pool.  I have my hot bikini on and am going to do a few sets of jumping jacks as prescibed by my ps. I have a hot body that I need to show off when I jump.  In my old life, my tits would smack me in the face! Ok, I could stand to drop a few pounds but since it is cyber land, I can be skinny.  And blonde too. And smart.  Wow, this lounge is such a great place for my ego. I am feeling oh so good.

Kathy, my baby's name is Isabella and we call her Bella.  DH calls her bruta as that means ugly in Italian. He is being good so far today but the night is young, as I just told him lol.

Well I hope some of you other girls show up here. Again, a perfect night and I feel like dancing!

Tit's up girls! Cheers to ya all.  Salute.....

Hi Dorothy! Not just in firefox.....earlier b4 my last post, the same thing happened to me, in IE. Kept coming up with that survey screen, I would say no, and then the screen would popup again. Finally closed that window and opened another, and it was ok. Sure is weird, huh! DH got home a little while ago, safe and sound. I asked him to pick up some salt on his way home, as our 2 bottom brick steps are solid ice! I had to barricade it today, and the UPS guy had to hand several large boxes over to me, on the porch. What a circus! OF course I had barefeet and was wearing a bc t-shirt.....boy it was cold outside! LOL. Junie just called, but a dr came in, so I am hoping she can call back later tonight. I will tell her hello from all of you!

    ChEARS,

    Kathy

I am here to eat crow.  National Pie Day is SUNDAY, not tomorrow.  But not to worry, as I at least need a day to get in practice.

Please tell Junie hello from me to.

The survey problem is on the BC.org end, and programming to direct us to take it via a pop up screen.  The only problem is that it should take up directly back to the Community page, but it doesn't.  And this is a classic case of a programming loop.  It should know not to ask us again once we completed the survey.  Remember, I do this for a living and have worked extensively with real online surveys.  This one was pretty basic as surveys go.

I don't think it will give them very useful information.  But it may be all they need.  I think it was the free version of zoomerang.

Dorothy, thanks for telling the lads to get ready to "entertain" me.  Not sure though that they would "measure up" to Main Squeeze.  But nice to imagine how they might Laughing

San Francisco greetings! Am here just for tonight. I only do domestic trips when on my reserve days. It is nice to thaw out! Feeling guilty since it was in the upper 60's here today. Only single digits in Chicago - damn! Cold or snow or both over much of the U.S. Having some wine and crackers with goat milk cheese. Just chillin'. Can"t want for the playoff games this Sunday! Go Bears! Trying to teach football to Avery and even when the Bear's aren't playing she yells, "go Bears" and it's so darn cute!

     Junie, I hope you're doing well/better!

    Cheers to all!

Bonjour mes amis!!Je suis trez bien!!!!!  Ooops!!   wrong language, sorry gals!   Hi friends!!!  I am very well!!   Sigh.........thank goodness the Aunty-B's are done and dusted and totally kicked to the curb but I must admit they have done their job well.  I am finally fully recovered and preparing my self mentally for the next trip to theatre in February!   If it's not one thing then it's another as my mother use to say and at this point in my life I heartily agree.

Hope Junie is on the mend so Kathy, pease send her my wishes for a speedy recovery when you speak to her.

Dotty!  your fur baby is beautiful, how can your DH think she's ugly?  He's definately not looking at her with love! Ooooo your little room out the back sounds divine.....a totally private place....how wonderful!

Well, now where is everyone?I think I might start by checking out the new wine bar......wow the things that happen when you are away for a few days!!!  This is great!  Mmmm....what wine to start with?  may be I'll start with a nice crisp white.

TITZ UP ALL!!!!  Have a great day and stay warm!!!!!

Well, I filled out the survey and couldn't get back to any other page! Now that is a problem. I had to go to a whole other server in order to get to you all. I did do the survey but I can't get past it. Any clue how to get in?

Just totally sad and depressed. Again a horrible fight with SO. I know I need to figure out how to not be with him and this big fight may have done it. He makes me so angry it takes me days to calm down. When things are good - we actually get along wonderfully and have fun but communication can be totally impossible. I don't know and I'm just torn apart. Hate this....

Kathy- goodness you know how to calk and grout and such.... Oh I so need to find some course I can take just to learn how to do something/anything!! My fireplace is coming away from the wall and the grout if coming apart, my fish pond pump died, so much needs painting and weatherproofing and fixing - it is just overwhelming. I just want to crawl in bed and sleep for a month or more and hope everything will be better when I get up.. Sometimes it is too much.

     Hi girlzzzzz,

Junie just called, and I told her EVERYONE here said to say hello and that we all miss her. She said she really misses everyone too, and wanted me to tell you she says hi. She still needs our prayers, and is in a lot of pain. I think it also is discouraging for her, since she has been in the hospital so long. But shes a fighter, and is trying hard to get well. Remember how Pancho would get on her nerves sometimes, well she even misses him! And she says she can't get any sleep, as someone is always waking her up, and coming in all night long. For some reason she has not gotten any of the e-cards I sent her through the hospitals website....I have probably sent a dozen of them by now. But it was just good to hear her voice, since I hadn't talked to her since her surgery yesterday.

HD, is that movie any good? There was a series advertised on TV about a girl that died, and I think it started a few days ago, but I missed it and can't even recall the name. Did anyone see it (if you can figure out which one I am talking about!)?

Stanzie, Did that Hallmark movie air, that Betty White filmed part of it on your street? Do you know the name of it? Oh, and I am going to send you a PM, also.

Nite Nite everyone, Time for an eveninghat,

    Kathy

    good morning ladies,

I hope you are all well on this saturday morning.  It is way cold here and just going to get colder. I am having my morning coffee by the fire and getting a back rub from DH. We had a great time last night partying.  DD comes home on weekends at times but choose to stay on campus this weekend so it is just me and my honey.

HD, you are funny, I had to laugh at what you said that ugly tub would give an ulcer or heartburn. But I know what you mean.  When I moved here, I had the classic blue master bath along with a bright, almost neon blue tub enclosure. That was the first reconstruction project here!  I hope you enjoyed your movie last night.

Kath, thanks for the update on Junie.  That poor girl, I can't imagine having my chest opened up for lung surgery. As if going through bc was not enough and now this for her.  I will keep praying for a quick recovery and hope that they are able to keep her comfy. And that sucks that she never got the e-cards you sent. Maybe they will show up in a month. That reminds me, I like sending birthday cards using morebirthdays.com which is part of the American Cancer Society.  I click "send now" and get confirmation like a week later that the card was delivered.  I do love using those ecards but the timing is way off.   I hope you are staying warm down there. We are going down to single digits tonight.

There is a help wanted sign at the HTL as I think we need new hot tenders so we can have a few of the boys stay with Junie.  This guy just stopped in for an application and I told him to get the hell of out here. I hope I did not hurt his feelings but he does not quite qualify for the job

Stanzie, I say we send the bus to Kathy and have her fix your house issues. She is our home improvement expert. I would help but you would end up with chucks of ugly grout hanging between your bricks and such.  As for your SO, I am so sorry he is causing you grief.  Would he possibly consider counseling? I did try that with my ex hub and it may have worked had he participated. At the time, things were ugly between us but I wanted to try to save the marriage, for our DD's sake. And what is this about a Hallmark Movie filmed on your street? What is it called? I'd love to see it.

Chrissy, wtg in getting all better and one with life.  I am so happy for you.  Enjoy each moment and celebrate life.

Claire, sorry that you are having ski withdraw, that sucks that you can't do your favorite activity.  I hope the weather improves and you are able to get on your skis soon. I want to go somewhere tropical, now wouldn't that be nice. For now, I will just put a little umbrella in my drinky and pretend!

I am looking forward to seeing a dotd. I am already ready to party to cure the bit o hangover from last night.  We had a great time just partying, listening to music and talking and laughing. Oh, I was dancing around and my legs are killing me this morning.  I also just starting doing jumping jacks as prescribed by my bs and my knees hurt. As they say, no pain, no gain. Bring it on.

I hope you all have a good day.  Stanzie, hang in there, I hope you are able to find a solution to your grief, I hate knowing you are sad :(.  Stop by the lounge, I told pants to pamper you, give you the best wine in the house and a full body massage. And have a piece of pie.  I made this thinking today was pie day.  I am not much of a cook but I tried.

    Cheerz, girls!!

Dorothy-I'm on Firefox and I got the survey, took it, and got it again. It's kind of annoying to have to say "no thanks" over and over again. I'm sure it will go away when they get enough responses.

Wahine-glad you heard from Junie, that's a good sign even if she had to hang up right off! (reading further along): So good to hear Junie's still fighting! Getting sleep is a big job in a hospital. Hope the e-cards get through soon.

Jaybird-can you send a little of that heat east? The temps aren't supposed to get into the double digits for the next several days. This part of winter I can do without.

Stanzie-it sounds like your SO is causing more trouble than he is helpful. This is a time you need to come first, so show him door and quit wasting time and energy on him! When treatment is all over, if he's still around you and he can try again, just knowt hat he will not be supportive in hard times. I've lived alone all my adult life and one thing I have discovered is that most household repair work isn't really difficult. You can find the instructions to do almost anything online. It takes me longer to do things, and things requiring physical strength often require borrowing or renting a power tool, but it's very empowering (pun intended) to use one of those guy toys!

Well, I've got to head into work to make up for the time I lost to the snowstorm yesterday. At least on Sat. I can take Sadie with me (it's against the rules, but on th e weekend no one notices).

    DOTD later, ladies!

Dorothy, It sounds like a "second honeymoon" going on at your house! Way to go, girlfriend! But as far as me being the repairperson here, AStorm does a lot of that, as well as NM, and there may be others. We are definately empowered (as NM put it!). I do have probs with things that take strength though, as I messed up my wrists doing a backyard redo with a teeny weeder type digger, years ago. DUMB of me, big time! Yeah you are right, that applicant DOES NOT fit in here!!!! Yucko! We can sure use some more hunks around here though. Bring 'em on!

NM, I so totally agree with you about finding instructions online to do a lot of repairs. And Home Depot and Lowe's also have some instructional videos, online. We can do (almost) anything we set our minds to!

Speaking of setting our minds to do something, I was lucky today! DH and I went to a seminar by my PS and the other 2 PS's that are with him. They do this once a yr or so. The theater was packed, and they only had a handful of "door prizes" to give out at the end. SO, they are giving out sample bags, and a couple of $100 GC's, and they they announce the next prize is going to be a $250 GC. I said to DH and gal next to me "That's the one I want". And then they called my name! (Yes, I did yell). I want some procedures done, and even though this is a drop in the bucket as compared to what they charge, I was thrilled! Had I known the $500 GC would be the next and last prize, I might have not spoken up so soon....LOL. But it always amazes me to see their "before and after" pics. BUT do I really want to go under the knife again.....?????

Hope you galz are having a fantastic weekend!!!! (I know Dorothy is!)....he he he! And I am so hoping Junie is doing better today.

TITZ UP! FACES UP (lift)! BOTTOMS UP (lift or drink)!

So Glad to hear Junie is doing OK.

The Hallmark Movied is called The Lost Valentine with Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt. It will air on Jan. 30th. Huh? I thought it would be on Valentine's day - oh well. So my friends who live one street over are having a movie filmed at their house - so wish I could get on this band wagon and make some money! Anyway, this is a big one with Jennifer Garner. Their historic house has two front parlors and both being musicians have a beautiful Grand piano so apparently this movied has something to do with a piano player so this is a good match. They will be out of town as the husband is preforming in NYC so they asked if I wanted to be the go to person while they are out of town! Should be fun and very interesting. Hopefully I can put in a plug for my own house!

Going to take my elderly music teacher/directors to see The King's Speech this afternoon along with my son who had a stuttering problem but hasn't shown up in a couple of years. They are both in wheelchairs so should be interesting.

Thanks Stanzie for the movie info....looks like I asked about it just in time! How kewl that you will be the "go-to" gal for the movie that will film at your friend's house. I hope you get to meet Jennifer Garner! I like her, she seems really nice and down-to-earth. Is this being filmed soon? Sure hope you can get your house on the "location list" for a future film. That would be A-Mazing!!! I'm going to set the DVR (or whatever it is)  to record the Valentine movie, so I won't forget. Enjoy your afternoon!

Is it too early for Happy Hour???????????????Wink
