how about drinking?

Oh, boy, I am so glad this long week is over! Even more glad we didn't get the thunder snow the rest of you did, we didn't get ANY!!!! We've gotten more than our fair share as it is! I am looking forward to a long sleep myself, assuming Silly Sadie lets me sleep in. But I drank so much coffee today that I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep. May have to resort to a sleeping pill myself.

TGIF and TGJH.........Thank God Its Friday and Thank God Junie's Home!!! Just called Junie and she and her DH got HOME a little while ago. And got to bring Pancho home......she said he is not letting her DH out of his sight! As expected, she is tired, as it was a 5+hr drive, but she sounded so good, just like herself! She does need to take it easy, and may have some therapy, so is pretty worn out and not able to post here yet. But she will when she can, and she says for us all to have a toast! We prob need to continue to drink for her for awhile, till she is totally healed. She was in the hospital 3 weeks! So glad she is back home. Welcome Back junie! Raising my glass to you!!!
My DD got to bring her furbaby home today, but I haven't talked to her yet. I know her doggie is getting lots of love and hugs from my grandkids! They live 12+ hrs away from us, so I won't get to see my "granddog" for awhile. Thanks galz, for all your care and concern. I think she has to have the pins (and casts?) for 3 mo....not sure if she has casts but that would prob help if she does.
Dwink up gals! Yummy drink,NM! Hope Sadie lets you rest! We discovered a really neat lunch place yesterday and so I also took my mom there today. Such fantastic food, and very crowded. I had a warm smoked turkey (piled high)sandwich with slices of granny smith apples and munster cheese on a toasted cranberry orange bread, with a side of white chicken chili. YUMMMMMY! Sorta expensive place, but well worth it. Dorothy, wanna join me for some Jack Daniels????
BOTTOMZ UP!

Nice Avitar Kathy! I have been so busy at work and at night have just crashed. Kinda like NM feels. I am so thankful Junie is home. I will toast to that. I can't even begin to catch up. I just know the rest of you are holding the thread up. I have nothing new to tell in my life. I also am glad for the weekend. I am thankful I have a good job with insurance, a good DH, a wonderful son, a super great boss, and all you wonderful friends. Sometimes I am as lonely though as a bottle of unfit wine! Being one of those gals that has a "less than desireable prognosis".....I don't look at any date to celebrate. I am not scared about implants either....H3LL! My horses already left the barn. I enjoy all your company here and plan on heading out to drink with Kathy. I feel guilty for falling behind, but I will speed up a bit. Cheers! HD

Dwink up, HD! Sooooo glad you found some time to spend with us here. Sawwy you have been having to work so hard....hope you can enjoy the weekend and get caught up on enough rest. Don't worry about catching up here, just jump in and have fun! Glad you're having nice weather Karen, and you too Stanzie. We also will have 60+ temps for Sat and Sun! YAY!
Enjoy the evening girlzzzzzzz! Pants, Jocks, keep those dwinks comin'!

I thought Friday night was the night all the drunks came out. We are the drinking thread afterall! Kathy? Do you think people are turning over a new leaf? HD

I just knew there was a reason I was drinking this glass of red wine while stew is in the oven. Then I read the post. Junie is home!!!!!!
O Junie......nothing that has ever happened to me is anywhere in the realm of what you have gone through in the past month. I am so thrilled that you had the fortitude to get through all this.
On my end, still backed up with work, but the major pressure is off. Gearing up for my birthday celebration which is less than two weeks away. I may need to practice celebrating
Glad to be home tonight. Have a boeuf bourguignonne in the oven. Major sale on natural beef chuck roast at the supermarket. Plus free carrots and potatoes if you bought 2 lbs. I couldn't pass up that deal, so dragged it all home. (Plus wine, plus bacon, plus mushrooms, plus noodles, plus other groceries.) This is a half mile walk and I was laden like a pack mule.
The smell of it cooking is amazing.
It is raining here, so cycling again. Bummed about the lack of snow. Probably a good thing though as still digging out from work.
HD.....you just can't worry about these things. I could drive myself nuts, and not worth it. We really never know, and I am not going to be wishing I had given in to a glass of wine/gone skiing/used the good china and silver/eaten that dessert. I am wearing a v-neck Prada cashmere sweater (resale of course) and feel divine in it.
Oh.....and doing fun and cool things. - Claire

Good morning girls!
Sorrry, I missed the partay last night. SO glad to hear that Junie is out of prison! There is NO place like home! Here is to her and feeling better quickly. I still pray for her and all of you girls.
I crashed early last night and have not had a drinik since Thursday night. Shame on me right? DH will not believe me but it is true. That is up with that, I asked myself!
HD, nice to see you here. I wish you would visit us more, I miss your humor. But we understand that you are not hanging out here all the time. Join us when you can!
Kathy, Stanzie and the others that are having nice weather, enjoy that. We are having more snow today. Ughh, I can't take it anymore.
Claire, I have free snow for all....and free snowmen, some assembly required. hahahaha!
This is my backyard
and this is my DD's car, buried alive! Come and get your free snow. Claire??

NM, oh yes that was a good one! "Is there a time we're suppose to stop drinking?". That needs to be our "Mission Statement"
Dororthy, enjoy your last week end before work. I hope it will go well for you. I guess you could have Vodka with Beans in the morning, I don't think that has much of a smell!
Kathy, hearing how much your DD had to pay for her poor puppy (I know she's not really a puppy) is just crazy. I hope she is able to heal completely and glad to hear she is home. Stories like these make me glad I don't have any animals. My brother and his partner just put down their cocker, 15 years old. Animals are just like our kids. That sandwich you had sounds really really yummy!
Astorm, glad you were able to enjoy some of the wineries and have your trip paid for!
Wooo Hooooo Chrissy got some sleep! Isn't it awesome? I know what you mean about the hangover, just can't quite wake up to get moving, right? But sometimes I feel it's worth it, just for the sleep. I did something similar last night and slept for 8 hours, getting up once to go potty! Now we need to figure a way to get RainCityGirl some sleep!
Stanzie, if you can't figure out how to post the pic of the house, I would be glad to do it for you if you can send it in an email. Let me know.
NM, love the sleeping pill and it sounds so yummy! As for the snow, you and Dorothy both have gotten lots. I wonder which one of you has had the most?
Karen, I don't know what Shabbat is, but Happy Shabbat! Could you explain so we can all enjoy it with you.
LOL HD "My horses have left the barn" Sounds like something Junie would say! Hey Junie, welcome home! I know you are SOOOOO glad to be there. But you had better continue to rest and take care of yourself. Don't make us come over there!
Good grief, what the heck is boeuf bourguignonne? What a long name for dish, had to copy your spelling as I certainly would have messed that one up!!!!
We did our normal trip to town yesterday and had a date. Went to the movies, saw the Fockers movie. Kind of like the first one, just so so but some funny moments. Look like the set the ending up for yet another one.
But cheers to doing fun and cool things and JUNIE'S HOME! Having me a DOG BEER!

I looked up Shabbat.
Shabbat (Hebrew: שַׁבָּת, Modern Shabbat Tiberian Šabbāṯ, Ashkenazi pronunciation: Shabbos, Yiddish: שבת, IPA: [ʃabəs], in English: the Sabbath, "rest" or "cessation") is the seventh day of the Jewish week and a day of rest in Judaism. Shabbat is observed from a few minutes before sunset on Friday evening until a few minutes after the appearance of three stars in the sky[1] on Saturday night. The exact times, therefore, differ from week to week and from place to place, depending on the time of sunset at each location. In polar areas where there is no sunrise or sunset at certain times of the year, a different set of rules applies.
On Shabbat Jews recall the Biblical Creation account in Genesis, describing God creating the Heavens and the Earth in six days and resting on the seventh. It also recalls the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, when God commanded the Israelite nation to observe the seventh day and keep it holy.
Shabbat is considered a festive day, when a Jew is freed from the regular labors of everyday life, can contemplate the spiritual aspects of life, and can spend time with family. Traditionally, three festive meals are eaten: on Friday night, Saturday morning, and late Saturday afternoon. The day is also noted for those activities prohibited on Shabbat according to halakha (Jewish law).
OH MY Dorothy, OH MY.........that's all I can say "OH MY".............and NO THANK YOU!

Goooooooood Morning Loungetttttttttttttttttttttttttes!
Lori, Great idea to use NM's phrase as our mission statement! I like that. Too bad we can't add to the first post at the start of this thread and explain the HTL, etc. Maybe NM can add that phrase to her sig. Yes, I agree that our animals end up tugging at our hearts like a child would, but for me I can't imagine not having a furbaby in my life. It makes it so much harder to travel; can't just pack up and go anywhere at the drop of a hat, but they bring me such joy and nothing (well ALMOST nothing...lol) is better than a nice big doggie hug. I think there was only a period of 2 yrs when I did not have a dog....and that was after a divorce when I had to live in an apartment for awhile. As soon as we got a house, we got another furbaby! Thanks for looking up the defination of "Shabbat"; all I knew before was it was a Jewish observance, but thats all I knew. Karen, if you make any festive meals, you can bring them here and we can all enjoy them with you! Or, you can have something added at the HTL.
Dorothy, OMG....will your DD be able to dig out her car???? That is horrid to have that happen. Our yard looked similar to yours after we had that big snowfall, but it didn't bury any cars. And now we have a balmy weekend....yes, we will enjoy the weather for you.
We had another flooring place measure our damaged flooring. The sample they brought matched perfectly, BUT I told them how much the samples differ from the actual product. The owner said he was 99.9% sure it would match. However it isn't his money buying the wood! So we will try with a $100 box and see if it matches B4 getting the rest of the wood. I know with my mom's flooring we recently put in,,the sample matched perfectly, but what we got was MUCH darker. Same mfg too. So I have my fingers crossed legs crossed, arms crossed, eyes crossed, etc. Just want to get this DONE!!!! Too bad there isn't a "transition" area that would allow us to use something that did not perfectly match. Only other option is getting unfinished wood put down in the damaged area (160 sf), and move ALL the heavy furniture out of the front rooms and have the entire area sanded and stained, sealed, etc. What a mess that would be as we would have to leave the house since it involves LR,DR,Foyer and Hall....would not be able to get to the other rooms, as we would have to use the hall. AARRGGHHHHHH I will be glad when it is done. We had them measure the kitchen and laundry rooms, but I don't want to even think about that flooring till this is done. Sorry for ranting....but I do feel better! LOL.
Have a GR8 weekend everyone! Those of you being covered in snow, puleez don't hurt yourselves with all that shoveling, and try to stay warm. We are waaaaaaay overdue for a big partay but it seems we are all so busy to get one started. Beans, is it this weekend you are returning home? Dee, where are you???? Jaybird, hope your travels are safe! Everyone else, hope all is well. Stanzie, would be kewl to see what that house really looks like....and glad that Lori can help you post a picture if you can't do it. Don't forget galz, that movie is tomorrow night. Wish you could see it too Chrissy, it is a Hallmark tv movie....do you get those? Called "The Lost Velentine" I think. (edit: I forgot to say it is on CBS here, thanks Dorothy!)
Love & Hugs,
kathy
GAWD what a long post....sorry girlz!

Good morning, Loungettes! I was soooo hoping for a long sleep last night but wound up not being able to get to sleep until after 2 AM and then only with the help of a xanax. Yeesh. I did sleep in some, until 7 AM. Must've drunk too much coffee yesterday. Oh, well, don't have to go anywhere today, can take a nap later if I want.
(Guess which one is me!)
So glad Junie is home! Can't wait until she feels well enough to come in for a visit. Gonna have to have on BIG partay when that happens!
Dorothy--how much snow have you gotten so far? I think I've gotten a total of 3 1/2 feet so far. The snow mountains are absolutely huge in some places!
This is one morning I really wish Sadie could cook. I would so much enjoy letting someone else make breakfast. I'm sure I'll get hungry enough to motivate me to fix something eventually.
It seems a festive drink is in order today. How about a Festive Day Drink?
1/4 oz Tequila
1/4 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
1/4 oz Melon Schnapps
1/4 oz GrenadineWe just need to remmeber to limit the number of drinks the furbabies get!
0 -
ROFLMAO at those pics, NM!!!! Really DID LOL. Gawd I wish you could get some good sleep....wish the melatonin would work for everyone. I have been sleeping so good with it. So hard to believe getting that much snow....and for all the shoveling you have to do. Yikes! How about if we send the TTs over to your house this morning? Pants can make you and Sadie a yummy b'fast and Jocks can make all those Festive Drinks you want! Or a massage, etc.... And maybe they will even have time to shovel the snow for you. Sound good?
Here is a link to an amazing video of what some dogs can do (however I don't like some of the scenes, like the dog ON the truck, or the dog trying to climb the side of the rocky mountain). But most of it is kewl.... http://www.flixxy.com/dogs-are-awesome-too.html

I just set my DVR for the move. FYI, I found it here on CBS. I was upset when I found the Hallmark ChAnnel and found i do not have it but then checked all listings and found it. I can't wait to see it. I tried to google and find the pic I think I saw of the home Stanzie talked about but could not. I am looking forward to watching it although it will probably not happen tomorrow.
My DH will NOT clear my DD's car as she failed to leave the key here when went back to school.. Her dad has the other spare and will not give it up. I can't blame him though as he passed the car down to her and is taking care of insurance and maintenance. DH wants to teach her a lesson. Uggh. My daughter has step throat and came home for the weekend. I hope and pray that I do not get it as I must report to work at 9am monday. Ughhh, I was having stress dreams about it last night and woke up thinking I was late for work. Ughhh again. I think I need a drink. Hmmm, what to drink? Too early for JD. Maybe a hot drink spiked with something that goes right to the brain? Maybe some Kahlua?? To all, have a wonderful drunken day and enjoy that good weather. Cheerz, girls!

That dog video is AWESOME! I agree, a couple were kinda worrisome for the dog, but there are truly talented dogs out there1
I'll definately take the office of the tenders to come over and make breakfast! Massage would be nice, too! I'm currently shoveled out so that chore is taken care of, but I do have a lot of housework that needs attention. . .

Boeuf bourguignonne is a French beef stew with a half bottle of red wine in it. It was delish and will be even better the next time. I haven't made one in years, but haven't lost my touch.
That is an impressive amount of snow to be shoveling. I grew up in Northern Vermont, so I have finely honed skills. Good luck digging out. Usually if you are shoveling, you don't have to worry about being warm. One other good thing is that if you dig out, you can skip the gym. Much better exercise.
I am trying to get enough energy to join a 35 mile ride today. Just need it, but looks like it could be wet later. Now, there is an example of being chilled to the bone. The last time I did this ride, I was cycling 18-20 mph the last 5 or so. It was that miserable.
I still have work, so will most likely skip the beers afterwards. Hoping for enough snow to make skiing fun tomorrow. Really, really need to do more.
NM.....also a nice hot bath to relieve sore muscles. Still laughing at my friend who was told she looked tired, so took that as a message from the Almighty that it was time for a long soak!
Off to join the ride!!! - Claire

Goldie - I will probably take you up on the picture posting as I just know I won't be able to do it and I think it would be fun for all to see the after picture since I didn't get a before picture.
I'm so happy Junie is home!!! I was in the hospital for 71/2 weeks but I was just lying there (pregnancy) so I can not imagine being in a hospital that long with recovery and surgeries. Just glad she is home!!!!
Kathy - that is what we had to do move all furniture out of the den and kitchen area, then upstairs the playroom and Annice's room. All the other rooms held the furniture - it was a total pain but the end result is pretty lovely - I had no option as there wasn't any that came close to matching. Hope the boxes are a fabulous match!!!
For those who don't know Claire's beef dish - won't try to spell- you all must not have seen the movie Julie-Julia!!! Rent it ! Totally fabulous movie - I'm dying to try her recipe! Great deal Claire - I wouldn't have passed it up either but I'd have driven home! LOL. I too get a lot of my things at resale or thrift stores and I too have founds some beautiful cashmere sweaters - isn't the thrill of finding something fabulous just amazing and so worth all the looking! But then I adore the looking. A way to take care of my shopping desires without breaking the bank.
Dorothy - that snow is over the top! Literally!!! my sister took my car up to Boston her first year in college and it apparently it looked like that all winter.
Will watch the dog video later. I'm off to walk up Stone Mountain! Such a beautiful day will be up to 60-65 degrees! Can't believe it!! It will get cold again next week though.
OK, will get the picture too!!!
HD - hang in there! We are all here for you! Sorry you are having a rough time.

Stanzie, thank you for your sentiments. I have been googling your neighborhood. I found a low quality pic of the house they used for Carolines abode after they had re landscaped, painted etc.
You live in such a beautiful neighborhood I had no idea. What intuitive architecture, and so many various styles. Was interesting to look at. I will post the pic of the one picture with a caption. From seeing the homes in their real aspect.....they are gorgeous. Will be interesting to see the movie. Here is the picture low quality:
Cottrell said, neighbors would bring by their dogs and stand across the street. White, a big animal lover, would take a break from the shoot every day and cross the street to pet the dogs and take pictures. "She was terrific," he said. "Very graciouis."
They had to change the house three times: when it was a wreck right after the couple purchased the home in the early 1940s, after they fixed it up and present day. "We took all the shrubbery away," he said. "We then re-sodded the whole yard, front and back, re-shrubbed and replanted. The owners were a little concerned at first but I think they took it well. When all was said and done, the house was gorgeously repainted. Hallmark took care of the location."
Let me know if this is not the correct house. I just found it online and who knows what's true and what isn't.
You snow bunnys really got a dump! I don't envy you at all! I am still toasting to Junies return home and am hoping she can gain strength one day at a time! Happy Saturday to all! Hunkydandy

Hi HD, come and join me for a drink! I am having some Moscato in the middle of the day, but wanted to take a break from working outside....yummmmmm is it ever good! Yes, Stanzie lives in a fantastic neighborhood....her home is very large and yard is immense. Very, very nice area!! Nice of you to post the picture! Stanzies house is much larger and more impressive than the house they filmed at,though. (at least as far as I can see, in the pic).
Stanzie, isn't this weather fantabulous! Hope you enjoy your trip to Stone Mtn.I always wanted to go there, but DD and family just lived there for a couple of yrs and SIL was promoted again. Wish they were still there, much closer that TX. I also wanted to see the light shows at night on the mountain.
I for one, do not like cashmere. And my first experience was when I dated a guy just a couple of times b4 he went to Vietnam. Right away he writes and asks my size (sneaky, huh! j/k) cause he wanted to send me a cashmere sweater. Instead of sending my size, I had to send him a "dear john" letter. I mean, we weren't that close, but I think when he went over there, he thought I suddently was his gf. Was hard to do that, but better than leading him on. But I can't wear certain fabrics, they make me feel icky, like silk, satin, etc. But I'm glad others are enjoying their cashmere!
Hmmmmmm......something about having a drink in the middle of the day...makes it feel like you are doing something special! Junie, puleez post here when you can! Hope you're doing well.
Dwink Up,
Kathy

Thanks, I will join you wahine! LOL! I know that picture does not reflect the homes in Stanzies neighborhood. The pictures I saw of the homes were stunning. I know you were there with her also.
Even though I won't drink that sweet stuff with ya, hows about I have a nice bottle of beer in honor of our friend? I also can't wear cashmere, wool, silk, or that material I think is 100% poly! I guess we all have our own tastes and mine is levis and tees. I am lucky to have a job I don't have to dress up for! I am lucky to have a job period and still be alive! Well, cachink! HD0 -
Hunky-Dandy, that does look like the house I saw on the preview. Good work in finding it. I also wish you well and am sorry you are having feelings of loneliness.
Kathy, I just made my first drink. Waiting for my man to arrive. Should be any time now, maybe an hour.
NM, just love the pics, especially of the doggies, I wonder what they were drinking! Very cute shot.
It is nice to see you working gals venture out and join us at the lounge. I plan on getting lit tonight as this is it until Fried-day night.
It is going to take a large crew of men to dig my dd's car out. Sore subject here. She was supposed to leave the key.
Kathy, I am doing my jumping jacks but have to just jump straight as my knees can't take the standard jumping jack but I find that doing these little exercises are helping my range of motion. I will need to step it up a bit though. Let's dwink, that is exercise right?
0 -
Dorothy....are you sure you are doing jumping jacks or jumping Jack Daniels? LMAO! I guess I will go to Les Schwab to rotate mine! Sorry! I am getting stupid now. I do think they will help your range of motion. I have to still work on my arm lifts and I think that will be a lifetime thing for me. Sorry about your DD car. Sorry you have to go back to work. It is hard to go back but you are tough....you will make it! HDandy

I did get a picture. The one you have is what it looked like for the movie. It doesn't have the yellow lower part - that was added and also no picket fence or walk going down the front. It looked so much better in the movie. I'll try or send it to lovely Goldie to post!

Oh about my house - So interesting I now know the grandson of the man who built my house! He has been so wonderful sharing lots of family memories and stories. A friend of mine who is an interior designer who helped me, we went to college together, is submitting my house for historical renovation. She won last year but she needed interesting historical info so George has been writing to me all sorts of wonderful stories some about the neighborhood. One of the really interesting ones is his Grandfather's generation all signed their names on all the old oak trees lining the street. Now they will be hard to see if possible at all as the lower limbs are pretty high now. Most have fallen or have been taken down which is so sad but they are trying to replace they little by little. Anyway, will go for a walk and look up to see what I can see. Ok will try and post or send to Goldie!!

lol HDandy, Good one! You cwack me up. Stanzie, that is soooo cool that this house is on your street. I did read some reviews on the movie and it sounds cute. I did not know it was based on a book. I am looking forward to seeing it. Okay, time to make another dwink and celebrate my sweetie coming home. God, i missed that pain in the arse!!! CHEERZ!! I got my tits up, do you?
0 -
Stanzie, what year was your home built? I just love homes that are old like that, so much character. There are mansions here in town that are over a hundred years old and huge and very well kept. I really enjoy (or used to enjoy) taking walks and checking them out in more detail than just driving by. I am envious. Although i would not be envious of the utilities bills lol. Yikes, got our bill today from the gas/electric and it is almost 600.00 for the month. Ouch!! My home is not that large by a long shot. It is a three bedroom ranch style home and less than 2k sq. ft.
0 -
That is interesting Stanzie. I really had it pictured kinda like this before the film crew did all their changes. It just seemed kind of like it!
Dorothy, glad your sweetheart is coming home. Mine is asleep on the couch. Last night was a late one for both of us. Cheers!

Actually a good cashmere sweater is as comfortable as a T but a lot toastier in the winter. I bagged the longer group ride, and did my shorter route. Feel much better, especailly after a hot bath.
Had some leftover stew for lunch. YUM.....and a number of other good meals coming.
Funny observation. One of the ways I psyched myself up to do the ride was looking back a year ago when I was riding in the rain during chemo. So the "weather is bad" excuse just doesn't do it (unless black ice).
You said it Stanzie. A lot of the fun is in the hunt. Plus being able to wear things you would never even consider otherwise. The parka and x-country ski pants in the picture are Sportalm and Prada....a bit more than $100 for the two. eBay.
HD....like you, I am thrilled to be here. I am also thrilled to be working, have someone wonderful in my life, have great friends, and be healthy and fit. When I climbed up under Silver Peak on New Year's Day, I burst into tears as couldn't believe how lucky I really am. Not too many tears though as would have frozen on my face, and seven more miles of skiing to go.
I also am fortunate to be able to partake in good wine....... - Claire

Clarie, I have never tried E-bay too nervous but I know lots of friends have found wonderful things.
OK, Lori, my friend. I have sent you the pictures as I did try and I couldn't begin to find anything to even send with??? so confused. I think it is your work address I sent the pictures to so hopefully you can get to them..... Not the greatest of pictures but you can see the after. Before the bushes around the front were much bigger but the movie took them all out and put in fake flower beds with the flagstone path and picket fence - looked much cuter but it was fake siding so they couldn't have kept it.
The movie they are filming at my friends house early Feb. is called The Odd Life of Timothy Green with Jennifer Garner and Diane Weist - those are the two most familar names. It is about a childless couple who bury a list of what their ideal child would be like in their backyard. A child comes but he isn't all he seems to be. Supposedly a very sweet story. My friend Sheri said when the director was talking about it he teared up and later when the production guy talked about it he seemed very moved as well??? Not sure what all. But they will be out of town and I get to be the go to contact person and who goes over to make sure all is well with the house! Oh Boy!
Walked up Stone Mountain today with about 1000 other people who thought it was a good idea. Horribly amazing to see how much Atlanta has grown! not in a good way! But being outside was lovely. Not a long walk but certainly up and down hill. It is 1.3 miles both ways. Claire you could probably be up and back several times on my one time up and down! LOL!
0 -
HD, that was sooooo funny about jumping over Jack Daniels! He was a very short man, so I guess that could have been possible...LOL.
Stanzie, So neat about learning the history of your house! I do hope you can get the historical renovation....that would be awesome. I think your neighbors house looked good the way the movie people did it....weird that they would want it back like before. Although I don't know what the "before" was. The first house my DD got, when she was in college was a small 2 br, but it was very old and only had 1 prev owner...a rocket scientist who came over from Germany with Werner Von Braun to elevate our space program. He and his wife lived there till they died in their 90's. Such a cute small house but I wonder how they raised a family there! Now it may get on the nat'l register, but she sold it a few yrs ago. The prev owners daughter had all sorts of historical info for my DD, but at the time she was so busy with school that she never did pick it up. That was a shame,as she loves that sort of thing, but was too busy.
Dorothy, YAY, glad your DH should be home by now! I cannot comprehend how hard that will be to get all that snow off your DD's car. Wow. Oh, and we had a similar utility bill recently....was over $500, but with the water bill became over $600 also. They "estimated" our meters since we had all that snow, so hoping when they get to actually read it, it will be much lower next month. Unbelievable! I can totally understand how people can end up homeless. Yes, I have my titz up too!
Well, I started this post awhile ago, but DH came in and sat and talked, and now I get to have a 2nd dwink....woohoo!!!! Dwink up loungettes!!!!
Oops gotta catch up....didn't realize it took me so long to finish this post! Stanzie, now I understand why they didn't keep the improvements, since it was fake siding. Even with the crowds, I bet you really had a great day being at Stone Mtn! I do a lot with ebay, mostly selling new stuff. Good thing for a shopaholic to do, as I can find bargains and then sell them. But I have bought a lot of stuff there too. Very easy. Cannot believe it was 71 today! Wow. And will be in the 60's till Wed. Yay!
