I think I eat more when I drink....it lets me drink more!!!
Last night I took a regular ambien...slept about 2 hours, woke up and decided to take an ativan....so ended up with a couple more hours sleep!!!
I say life by pharmaceuticals is good
or if not good, the only way some of us can function!!!Claire, have a good birthday tomorrow....be sure to tell us how it goes.....

well, bummer, bummer, bummer for NM! What a disappointment that was to miss that long awaited hearing. Hopefully, you will eventually get your say!!! In he meantime, can I borrow some of those voodoo pins? Met up with first therapist today that I did NOT like! Told DH when I spoke to her on the phone--we are NOT going to like this one--and, we didn't! Not real sure what her function is supposed to be.....she looked at where I am showering (nice new large shower; some of you will remember our recent re-do of that bathroom.....). She acted like I needed DH to assist me, but I assured her I was fine by myself. I just make sure that DH is in kitchen or close so he can hear me if I need help.....then, she looked at the tub/shower that I haven't been using yet. She wants me to buy a water chair for the bathtub....told her I don't need one as I am showering in the other bathroom. She was so friggin' insistent that she even left me a catalog to order one from!!!!!!! Maybe we were all having a bad day by that time!!!! The oxygen people had just left before she showed up so I was pretty frazzled. Bless the oxygen rep--I was so stressed out and she was sooooo sweet and nice that I burst into tears!!!!! I had asked her how much my ins was covering and when she told me what my cost was going to be each month, I was so relieved that I started bawling! Shit! I am just a blubbering baby these days!
Suppposed to start snowing after midnight--reports are anywhere from a couple inches to a FOOT!!!! Can't wait to see what we wake up to but we are pretty well set to hunker down for several days if need be!
I'm plumb wore out but am heading out to the pool for a quick dip and a chat if anyone is still around. Thank you guys for the much needed laughs and humor!!! love ya all!!!!!

I was out at a cycling club meeting at Hale's Ales, so Bangers and Mash with some Mongoose Ale for dinner tonight. YUM. Was fun catching up, but I don't do mountain pass rides.

Junie....just saw your post. I am so sorry. Some people are really clueless. I think you have to smile sweetly and lie through your teeth so nit brain can check the box. You really don't need this. So glad the oxygen person was good, because she is the person whose help you really need here.
I remember the well-meaning person who called me the day after my surgery. How are you...fine. How is the pain....I don't have any. Remember to stay ahead of the pain....but I don't have any. I never did have much pain, and no, I never needed the pain meds, and I really did feel just fine.

Junie, so nice to see your post! Shoot, that just sucks that the PT person was the pits....is she assigned to you, or will different therapists show up? Weird that she was so insistent about the shower chair! You know, if they force you to have a chair there, you can use a plastic inexpensive outside chair or small table. Thats what I had put in our shower after my surgery, but didn't need it afterr all. Remember, the fukitol fountain is going strong, if the percotini fountain doesn't do the trick! We may get snow tomorrow too, but prob not much....hope you are all stocked up in case you get snowed in!
Gail, such a pwetty voodoo doll.... And I forgot to mention how cute that WD in the hotdog bun looked! I hardly ever see WD's anymore, but sooooo many of you gals here have them, and they look adorable!
Ha, you all would have been ROFL if you saw our paintings tonight. Sheesh, that instructor(?) had us doing stupid weird things and sure enough, it looked weird when we were done. Even the instructors demo painting looked like crap. She said we had picked the most difficult one, and the class was packed (50). If we had just looked at it, we could have figured out a better way to do it, but we had to follow her. Then I looked around and EVERYONES painting looked like crap. BUT dinner was fun, and drinking wine while painting made it fun anyway. And here my mom is an artist and has done beautiful paintings, and I have dabbled a bit, but no way could we get these to look good by doing what we were told to do. I'll try them again though as I did see some others I might want to do, and hopefully they really will end up looking good. So tomorrow we close on the townhouse, then will have to do the little finishing touches so we can get it rented. Like we didn't have enough to do!
Anyway, hope you galz are doing good, and that everyone can sleep really well tonight!

GOOD NEWS!!! The Medical Board postponed the hearing because I wasn't notified in time! I'm playing phone tag with the consumer rep, hopefully he has a new date/time for the hearing. Thank you all for the support and I will certainly keep you up to date.
I LOVE the Dragon's Revenge drink! That is going to be my mascot drink from now until this gets straightened out. I've been called a Dragon and much, much worse in my day, I figure now is the time to cash in on that!

Lori, You are a baking wizard today! Cupcakes and fruit display are purrfect for Claire's big day. Yes, it was good to have one-on-one time with my mom. The "teacher" said if you don't like the painting to hide it away a few days and when you look at it again you will prob love it.....NOT!!!! Guess we can just paint over it. Going out to lunch again today, b4 closing. I am gaining so much weight while they are here. But I have been sad thinking that they will be leaving on the 22nd.
AStorm, I was sad for you, about all the cooking mishaps. Puleez don't be too hard on yourself, as you have been through so much. And I guess even though we might think bc isn't affecting our lives as much, it shows its ugly face when you least expect it. I am sure your skills will return, but in the meantime maybe double-check your ingredients as you are putting them together. Just like when you do a big project.....measure twice, cut once....same theory! Sounds like you really are a good cook though! And I forgot that you are a wine connoisseur also, and am glad you gave Stanzie some good itdeas. We have so many awesome gals here with great talents and skills!
Yeah Karin, I second what Lori said. Definately no one is stuck up here! Sometimes we are all here posting and sometimes it is quiet for a few hours. But always a party happening, or you can just chill by the pool and have massages, or go in our casino, chapel, etc. There is everything you could ever want here at the HTL.
Expecting snow this afternoon and overnight....you too, Stanzie. SO will be a nice night to stay in and keep warm! Take care galz, and HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!

AStorm - Cooking challenges...last night I started with marinated chicken kebobs, also made pita bread, fruit plate, and then Ghirardelli choc chip brownies. I had been doing pretty well then went and took a shower. When I came back DH asked where are the brownies. I completely forgot they were still in the oven!! I am now so forgetful I was also drinking some vino (no not the fuzzy navel, just some cheap merlot), I used to be a chemist and run a lab with a zillion things going all at once. Everything takes me forever now, and if I have to go get something in another room, by the time I get there I forget what I was going to do. I'm still thinking it's a form of PTSD. (PS, didn't think dat wuz U in the pics, or UR dogs :-)...love the grrl voodoo doll!

The Medical Board hearing has been rescheduled to September 13th--that being "the first time the doc could make it," He thinks he's wearing me down, but what he's really done is give me MONTHS of time to specificallly prepare for the time I get to make a statement to the board! HEEEEEEE, HEEEEE. I'm going to be wearing my big dragon girl panties and my "sometimes the dragon wins" armor and I AM GOING TO GET MY SAY ON THE OFFICIAL RECORD. He won't be able to cover that up. I may not get any real answers or anything else, but I will get that much. Can't wait to see the look on his face when I show up with two full 4 inch 3-ring binders of records and research. FINALLY, a date when I will be heard by someone who HAS to listen!

Welome new ones and ones I haven't said more too.... Kind of on quick mode as the photographers will be back shortly. They came on Monday and prepped - too cloudy, all day yesterday and will be back today. The few shots I have seen are just beautiful! He and his son are quite talented.
Went over and check on my friends house where the movie is going on - well at least one scene of it. Saw Jennifer Garner film one shot walking into the house next door. Then went in as they were setting up for the recital shots and went to check on their kitties and went in to their room and there was Jennifer Garner learning lines! They had her made up fairly harsh with darker hair, light makeup and very red lips but probably won't look like that in the movie. She is awfully pretty. Wanted to see Diane Weist but no luck.
Kathy, a friend recently told me about the painting parties - I thought it sounded like grand fun. She went and liked how her painting turned out so I guess it depends on the teacher and really how much wine one might partake..... Off bye for now!

Oh Shoot - Junie!!!! so sorry knew I missed something big. I'm so sorry that one therapist wasn't listening to you and being helpful. I hope you can get someone else sent out. I remember that kind of thing with my Mom and my son had to come home on oxgen and heart monitors and one nurse was just clueless to real life. Sorry but sounds like you are feeling better.... !!!
