Beanie - that is so sweet! I have a note my mom wrote me once. It was about tea and she slipped it into a ceramic teapot she gave me (which has since been broken).

I cannot sit and chat with you,
the way I'd like to do.
So brew yourself a cup of tea,
I'll think of you, you think of me.

DD1 made Mother's Day dinner and DD2 brought home a special Mom cake (the one that looks like a crown)

Mother's Day Cakes It says "Mom, Our Queen" on top.

    Much better than a doughnut!

    Lois...Happy Birthday.....I'm may 8th as well....55 today....

It was a good b'day....all my kids called or IMed me......I have 3 kids plus I call my son's best friend my 4th kid!! He calls me his 2nd mother.... His late mother was one of my dearest bff....she passed away going on 8 years ago....DS called from Hawaii mid day to wish me a happy b'day and happy mother's day....He will be home Friday....he's stressing about finals and packing everything up...DD and SIL called today and I spent the afternoon with DD#2....we rode bikes to the Botanical Gardens....She got me green nail polish and green eye shadow for Mother's Day as I wear lots of green...for b;day, she got me a pink ribbon charm and small round heart charm from Brighton.....I didn't have the heart to tell her I already had the pink ribbon, so I was able to sneak into the store and exchange it for a chain....I also have the heart charm on my bracelet, but I'm going to wear hers on the chain with the pink ribbon....for a 13 year old,she spent a lot of money (all her own)....DH (and DS chipped in) got me 3 pairs earrings...all costume...seems I don't loose them like I do the good stuff.....Thankfully DH didn't go overboard like he has in the past....I told him not to as I really want to go to Israel this summer....Need to buy my ticket this week....my Toronto kids keep asking if I bought my tickets to Toronto for me and other daughter, so best do it this week.... All in all it was a good day.....I posted on fb that it was a good day, and better than the milestone b'day 5 years ago (was in the middle of chemo at 50th)....and son comments...is 55 a milestone....I said, for me yes and he goes, I guess so!!!!  He gets me so angry, but he really is a great kid......Well 2 b'days done, mother's day done, and one more b'day...DS will be 22 on Thursday.......

Thanks for the b'day wishes....Hope all the mom's (to both 2 legged and 4 legged children), daughers, sisters and friends had a good Mother's Day......Sweet dreams....Karen

Chrissy, so nice to see you. Glad you had the best night of sleep ever and hope you are having another and another. Happy Mother's Day, glad you were pampered, you deserve it.

And gosh, talking about getting choked up, Beans, now I know where you got your sweet loving spirit from, that is beautiful about the note you carry with your mom's fav saying.I think I may try to live that way, for at least a day.

And Gail, you too. I save all cards from my Mom,even the latest ones she has forgotten to sign. I spoke with her yesterday and Saturday too, she was a bit out of it. I feel so blessed to have her.

Claire, sounds like you have a Mommy figure in your dear friend Irene. Glad to hear she is doing so well and I'd bet she loves you like a daughter.

I remember before I married feeling very lonely on holidays and such. I seemed to be the only one on the roads traveling alone. I did not marry until I was 29 and had some terribly lonely years before that.

Well Happy Day, I will not mention that evil word uh mon mond mund...uh can't say it but you all know it is not monday, it is the day before tuesday.

Love you girls, I have to get my tit in and head to work hehe! Have a wonderful day and I hope the sun is shining in all your hearts ♥

    Peace, cheers and tittys up!

Kathy, so sorry to hear about your tenant, just heartbreaking. Karen - sounds like your birthday/mother's day was all good!

Beanie - the notes are just lovely! I posted a bunch of old photos of my Mom on FB and it made me so horribly sad - I just hate that she is gone, miss her so much so Mother's Day is great with my kids but would have meant so much more if my Mom was still around. Gosh and Father's Day is just around the corner so get to do it all again.

My kids both gave me some art work they had done in school, my DD's was of this kinda of wild crazy square cat with big eyes and a sunken heart. Nope it really doesn't look better than what you all just pictured so of course I adore it. My son made this....hmmm... well he turned it into a vase for dinner last night but not really a vase I guess it looks like a red demon Genie with big ears! Yep creative kids! So that was nice.

Lilyn - happy birthday and anniversary!

Karen - sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and Mother's day - I too seem to lose all the good stuff or my favorite costume jewelry but the other stuff if just always around.... Hope you get to go to Israel this summer.

Astorm - oooh I wouldn't have liked the red stuff in the middle how ever I'm thinking they must do a great business with those vodoo doughnuts! Sounds like they would go over really well in the Keys! Did anyone try and read the article I posted. Hope the link worked. It was a about a woman in the keys who had a car accident as she was shaving and I do Not mean her legs while driving!!! She was going on a date and her ex-husband was in the car and he was steering!! The woman who wrote it was hilarious. I wrote to my sisters teasing them that I was happy to learn it wasn't one of them. One said she heard about it on the radio as the police officer was being interview and he couldn't stop laughing. No one hurt and was a minor accident other that...... ewwww! Too Weird.

Dorothy, thanks for the compliment on my parents - it was one of their Wedding pictures. I did look just like her and I mean really like her so it was fun when strangers would say that to us I used to drive my Mom crazy as a kid cause I'd always pipe up very seriously and say really I'm adopted! They would just be so confused.....

Well, Happy Monday!!! May is such a busy month - Astorm - happy studying - know you will do grand!! Trying to figure out my DD's birthday and not a weekend in the month... sigh. Ok better get productive....

Kathy, sounds like you had a perfect day, spending time with everyone!

Gail, so true what you say about the kids, but the relationships you have after they leave and  as adults is what ends up being so special.

NM, of course moms of fur babies can participate. You are JUST as important...Beans too. And thank you for The Mothers Day drink and that buffet was fabulous!

Lois, your b-day too? Happy Birthday and congrats on your cancerversary.

Beans, is that your mommy? And Stanzie, your pic is of your parents? Both pictures are great, wish they were a little bigger so we could see them better. Beans, that is so precious to have the notes from your mom, I am so glad you have them. My heart goes out to all of you that no longer have your moms here with you. My mom lost her mother at a young age too.

Gail, you will rock that test, then we can rock a party! And OMG at the donut place! I am really surprised people don't complain about those shirts...that is just terrible! But what sweet things your girls did for you.

Dorothy, I thought you were going to buy a vowel? I am not pointing you to the page it was revealed, this is too much fun. So if you want to know, you will just have to go back and search!

Hi Chrissy, doesn't a good sleep do a body good???? How is your DD doing?

Karen, sounds like your day was a fabulous one as well. I had to laugh about the costume jewelry cuz you lose the good stuff.......I am the same way!

Mitch, here is your link. Would have worked if you hit the "space" bar after you pasted it, instead of the "enter" key to go to the next line. I love the quote at the end of the story:

    http://engforum.pravda.ru/index.php?/topic/232351-dont-shave-and-drive/

"You Can't Drink All Day If You Don't Start in the Morning"

Happy NOT Monday all. Just a reminder, I will be leaving in the morning.

Wahine - I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I sure do miss my mom but I fully expect to see her again on the other side some day. I think she went straight to Heaven, I might have to clear up a little more karma before I get to Heaven - LOL!

Claire - Sorry you felt left out..but you are not alone. I'm not a mom and my mom is gone also, but at the grocery store and places like that everyone always says Happy Mother's Day to me and I just smile and say Thank you! I think pretty soon they will be saying Happy Grandmother's Day to me too - he he he! I'm so glad Irene got home okay, that is so hard for elderly folks to recover from broken hips. I wish you and her all the best.

Chrissy - So glad you popped in and thanks for the nice words about my mom, she was super nice. LOL at your need to lay off booze and your good night's sleep.

AStorm - that is the funniest donut I have ever seen, cracked me up and it has red jelly inside, oh yuck, just what a kid would love. I wouldn't have got the tees either - LOL! I love your mom's note too and the tea pot, that is so sweet and reminds me of this teapot I have that my mom gave me that say's "Tea for two, one for me, one for you." I should take a pic of it. I love that your daughters made you dinner and brougha cake that looks like a crown. So sweet, I'm so so so happy they were so good to you! Love the Pink Bikini Cocktail! That is so funny!!! Thanks, I will order up a dozen.

Dorthy - LOL at trying to live that way for at least a day, yeah, I read that and think how nice and then I think instead of scattering sunshine I'm more of a scatter voo doo doll kinda person...but some of the old fashioned sweetness may be hiding somewhere - tee hee! You too, I read your post saying you're not a good person cuz you can't help but wish bad things on bad people, made me laugh cuz you come across as just the most beautiful of spirits...and def a good person. And you are the one (I think) who made the rule here that we don't have to say sorry...I think your rant was for a good reason and sounds like you're not evil but not letting anyone be evil to you. I think that's great that you stood up for yourself!

Stanzie - I just love the pic of your mom and dad. It is bittersweet to go thru pics and notes and I know that feeling as I miss them so so so much. And yes, Father's Day and my Dad's BD is next week...ah me...how sweet your kids gave you art work they had done, your descriptions are so funny, kids must be a blast cuz you never know what they will come up with.

Karen - Sounds like you had a wonderful time, I love all the green polish and eye shadow. And the jewelry, how nice, I sure hope you get that trip to Israel you will have to tell us all about it. I would love to go there but I'm sort of a home body. I love to hear about other peoples' travels. Congrats again on 55!

Goldie-bug - LMAO at that article! And that is such a great tag line, "You Can't Drink All Day If You Don't Start in the Morning." So funny!! And thanks for the reminder to get my jug of vodka out this morning! Hope you had a great weekend and Happy "Day Before Tuesday." Hope your travels are safe and remember don't shave and drive.

Okay, the drinks are ordered, who will join me for a PINK BIKINI COCKTAIL? Looks like a good dwink for poolside. Have a great day all, titz up! ~ Beans

That is sweet, Beanie. I broke the pot my mom gave me when I was hosting a mother-daughter book club meeting... I have an iron tea pot that has a little warmer with a candle in it and someone placed the ceramic pot on the warmer. When it cracked I wanted to cry but pretended it wasn't a big deal. My sister and her 3 grown daughters moved into my mom's house to "take care of her" and not much survived their tenancy so anything I have from her is very dear. This is probably why I have kept boxes and boxes of my kids' things.

When I'm having a really bad day I reflect on all her thoughtful, wise observations and try to imagine what she would tell me. I regret that my daughters didn't have her in their lives. The best part of my mother's day was not the dinner (which was really thoughtful) or the cake (sweet) or the flowers or cards, but hearing DD2 remind me of something I told her when she was little that came straight from my own mother's handbook... when someone was mean to us, she'd say "remember how bad you are feeling right now the next time you are tempted to be unkind to someone else because that is how both of you feel when you are unkind to someone.

Evening gals...haven't checked in for awhile. Doing okay, glad to read everyone's posts. I'm back in the chair for #5 on Friday the 13th. DD2, my nursing student, is going with me. She was born on Friday the 13th, so seems fitting that she would go on that day. Just trying to enjoy these last few "good" days before chemo.

Going to Bob Seger (sp?) tomorrow night-a gift for my husband's birthday and then Sheryl Crow on Thursday with both daughters. Then I have to be at chemo (a 30 min drive) at 7:30 Friday morning. ACK. What was I thinking? Maybe I will finally sleep through chemo, but poor daughter will be stuck in the not so comfy chair.

Wishing a great, restful, pain-free, no side effects, no stupid comments, week to you all!

Kristy, so glad to hear from you. I had not realized that this week has a Fri 13th but that is a good day for me and i hope it is for you. I won the lottery once on Fri the 13th and consider it a lucky day. I hope you are able to fully enjoy the concerts - I would love to be there with you, love both Cheryl and Bob!  Sweet of your DD to come with you and I am sure it makes her feel good to support her Mommy. God love ya girl.

Beanie, thank you for the very kind words. I try to be righteous but there are times that I am not and I do feel guilty. You are a very sweet soul and I hope that when you join your mom (in forty years), that you girls just laugh for a year and enjoy catching up. I do believe that we all meet on the other side. Well at least most of us. And the ones that go to hell, they deserve it. they do right? lol. I hope your doc appts go well and if you need a hand, I will be dere in a heart beat!

Lori, come on, give me a hint. I will trade you a vowel for a little squeeze of Pants' cute hiney, can ya help me here? I did try to go back and read from my last guess but must have missed it.

Gail, loved the quote from your mom and that your DD recited it at the right time. I will def try to remember that and live by it. Having wicked thoughts is not healthy and I like all of this talk about being the better "guy". I need to work on forgiving, it has always been rough on me.

Stanzie/Mitch or whatever your real name is, come on, help a fellow drunk here hehe. I like that yoru kids made you gifts, they are priceless. I have a little tea pot that my DD made me in ceramics class last year and I cherish it. She always give me hand made cards which I love. I have many of them on the mirrors in my bedroom.  She is grown at 19 but still has the ability to warm my heart as she did when she was widdle.

Where is Risque Raquel tonight, I don't think I have seen her all day.

To all, have a great night and miss those who are not here (Kymn, Chrissy B, Wahine, NM, Junie, Manny, Mo and Jack and whomever else I missed. Me tinks it is time to hit my bed;  I just spilled my drink (#4 spill of likker drinky since Sat night) so I think it may be time to pop a fukitol and turn out the lights. Good night, my friends. Tiddsup!

My BC side, near the pit and upper arm is so sore today...first time its been sore after a bike ride!!! will have to ride a few more times and see what happens.....

Regarding the trip to Israel....I have never fone anywhere like this on my own!!!!!  Last fall when I went for the RFTC, my married daughter went with me....so its kind of scarey to think about too much....of course, if I don't buy my ticket soon, there won't be any trip...its only 6 or 7 weeks away.....I need to check out some learning programs, cuz otherwise, not sure what I would do for a couple or 3 weeks....Its just weird about it....The first time I went to Israel was 4 years ago with DH and DD#2 a year post finishing chemo....when we were leaving I said I was coming back in 4 years (to celebrate making it to 5 years)....well, when I went in October I said I'm not going to go in the summer and somewhere along the way I changed my mind....DD#2 asked DH what he would do while I was gone and she was at camp and he kind of looked at her like why are you asking a silly question...DS will be home, but its not the same!!!  So this week, I'm going to try to finalize my decision and make plans....also need to buy tickets to see DD and SIL in Toronto...DD#2 and I are going, then she goes to camp and that is when I would go to Israel...DD#2 is going on a cruise with my parents in August, so maybe DH and I can take a long week-end somewhere.....I forget who said they were a homebody....actually, I am too.....but there  is something magical about Israel...

DD is out tonight and I'm ready to get my jammies on, but waiting to pick her up....she doesn't know what time the program is over.....can't figure out why she just can't ask!!!! oh yeah!!! she's 13.....I don't want to make her leave before its over, but how late is late!!!  i told her 9:30....She has to get up by 6 for school.....

DS went to student health today...he has a sinus infection....good thing he listened to DH went he told him to go as DS flies home Thursday night....when DH told son to go, DS says what are they going to do!!!!  Hawaii just hasn't been good to him....He's been really cranky the last week or so.....It hasn't been a good semester....he doesn't want to talk about grades!!!!  mom and dad aren't happy campers....so will be some new rules when he gets home...pretty much a waster year!!!

Feel, like i'm rambling.....guess that means its time for a drink or two or three...whose going to join me.....got a couple of bottles or red wine ready to uncork!!!  Hugs to one and all

Am ready for more wine.  Did a fun luncheon, but back at work trying to please an end client.

Snuck out for a walk a while ago and saw one of those sights you don't see everyday.  A guy playing a TRUMPET while driving.

Swear this is true and that I am sober.

Need to get back to what I am doing.  Promise I really am fine. - Claire

Kristy - maybe you'll be tired enough to sleep through the after effects? Nice that your DD can (and is willing to) be with you on Friday. My DDs took me to the hospital for my bmx (they were 16 and 14 at the time) and that is when DD1 decided to study nursing.

Claire - was he on his way to a date with Ms. Barnes?

I had a big post going yesterday, then it -Poof-disappeared! So frustrating, and I had to leave for work and didn't have enough time to do it all over again. Arrgh. Back to writing the post in word and copy/paste onto the boards.

Hooray to all the mom's who had a good Mother's Day! Love hearing about what your kids did for you, gives me ideas for next year!

Oh, my, goodness, that Pink Bikini looks sooo yummy! I want a whole grove of coconuts full of that!

I remember seeing Voodoo Doughnuts on a travel/food show! It looks like great fun. If I remember they even do weddings there? Weird, but whatever works!

Beanie-I can just see you filling that tea pot with Dog Beers!

Husker-DD2 will not mind being in the less comfy chair, I am sure. But you might want to remind her to bring a book to read or study.

Karen---did you wear a different bra on your bike ride? I've found that clothing, especially bras, that have edges in different places would cause soreness in odd places. Of course, it could just be muscle soreness from exercise. But us bc survivor ladies don't ever get a "normal" ache or pain, do we????

     DOTD:  Computer Gremlin Fixer

    2/3 oz Vodka
    1/4 oz Apricot Brandy
    2/3 oz Dry Vermouth
    2/3 oz Pisang Ambon
    3 oz Pineapple Juice
Best served in a Highball Glass.

Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig, and serve.

I hope you feel better Karen...hoping it was just the bra!

To all, a great day. It has been gorgeous here and the nights are chilly, great for sleeping. I really wanted to stay in bed this morning. I have got to go and drop off my car for service and pick up a loaner. I am due there in 20 minutes and not yet dressed so I better get moving.  Cheers, girls!

Goooood Mornin'! So far behind I don't know how to ketchup. Gotta watch that link about Ms Barnes though, after all the comments! Must be a good one. NM I like your Computer Gremlin Fixer dwink. After our power came back on I wanted to catch up on the tv shows I watch, but some weren't on hulu yet. SO stupid me googled it and clicked on the top one...immediately a damn (yes i meant to write that!) popup comes up that won't go away...next thing I know a virus has closed down my netbook. Well, puter expert DD2 actually was able to get my pics off and onto a hard drive I bought, but cannot fix the puter. Never worked on a netbook b4, and couldn't get it apart as everything sorta was connected inside. Soooo.....looks like I need a new one...just don't understand why people get their kicks ruining everyone else's computers!!! The upstairs a/c has not been fixed yet (can't get repairman to even call back), so my desktop is tooo hot to work on, which means I won't be here as much for awhile.

Love all the Mother's Day gifts you all got, and still sad for those of you who have lost their moms. But, as was mentioned, you will meet up with them in heaven! Gail, your kids really outdid themselves! I enjoyed having my DD2 here, but am VERY tired having the g'kids around that long. Have tons to catch up on with the condo, etc., and haven't seen my parents much as I have been so busy. Will go and look at the link now, and want to have some dwinks so I can get going today.....Pants....oh Pants....are you hiding???? Now, how come you came up from behind the bar with Dorothy????? J/K. Hope you didn't tire him out too much, and he still feels like whipping up some wicked dwinks. Oh, and DorK, what was heard about the refi on your house? Hope it all got approved!!!

Kathy - sorry bout your notebook. DH is shopping for a new one now... we seem to be buying at least one computer a year... bought mine last February when my just barely one year old PC stopped working... DD1 got a new Mac this January and DD2 got her first Mac last summer... oh, that's 2 per year. And I seem to be the only person in the family who backs up her files.

Does anyone remember being a teenager? My 18 YO, who is very pretty and smart and has a perfect body, naturally blonde hair (which she colors maroon... her choice), a nice boyfriend and awesome parents, but is so disappointed all the time I just don't know what to say to her. Yesterday she was just falling apart because she decided she doesn't look good in her prom dress. Prom is 10 days away and she wants to sell it on eBay and buy a new one but she doesn't have time. At first I tried to convince her that she looked beautiful in it but ultimately she wore me down and I told her how I really felt: there are people with REAL problems in the world! Not everyone is beautiful and smart. Not every girl has parents who can buy her a cute prom dress. I had to make my own prom dress because A) my father was disabled and B) my parents would not have bought me the dress I wanted but I knew they wouldn't criticize my creation. There are girls at your school who didn't get asked to the prom. Can you imagine how you would feel if you gained 2 pounds and couldn't fit into your size 0 dress? Last year your date broke your heart and you were crying in a restaurant bathroom and I had to come get you and this year you have a nice boyfriend who is really looking forward to having a fun evening with you. Honey, if you are going to go through life being disappointed instead of realizing how extremely lucky you are, you are going to miss all the JOY. You have so much! Can't you just try to be happy with what you have?  ... of course this didn't help...  did we not watch Pretty in Pink?

Poor Andie -- look at her dress!

AStorm - I'm so sorry your tea pot got broken. I know how important these things are. I have older sisters and when my mom passed one of them was pretty grabby and as the youngest "kid" I just went and sat on the back porch, just used to the whole fam dynamic. It has had the positive effect of making me more independent. Keeping all your kids' things makes me smile, as one of my sisters has done that, plus she's kept so many of my things too, which is really sweet. She has so many boxes in her garage! Sounds like your mom was a wonderful person too, that is sad your daughters didn't have her in their lives, but it sure sounds like they have learned from you...what a beautiful saying from your mother! And it is so true!

Goldie - the avatar of the day is an old pic of DH & I on a camping trip that is proly back when we were first married and I was still thin and he still had all the hair on top. I sure do like your big hat too!

Husker - so good to hear you are doing okay...you are sure burning through the chemo fast, #5 on Friday, wow! You are getting there! My bff was born on a Friday the 13th so I've always thought of that as a lucky day. I'm glad your DD will be with you. Sure hope you enjoy the shows and feeling good, it won't be too long before chemo is in the past! LOL at wishing us a no "stupid comments" week, that sounds glorious!

DorK - Wow you won a lottery on a Fri 13? See it is a lucky day! LOL at the ones that go to hell! You are so funny! Thanks for offering to go to docs with me, much appreciated! Good luck with your car apt, I have to get new tires and a new muffler this week too.

Karen - hope your arm feels better and I would love to join you for a glass of red wine!

Claire - I really do believe you about the guy playing a trumpet while driving, specially after the shaving and driving story. AStorm asks a good question, was he on his way to a date with Ms Barnes?

NM - Sh*t about your lost post! Loved reading today's - you are on spot with everything again! So funny! Just love the delete cartoon, poof! And the idea sifting with the discards going to BLOG! Oh my and the pink bikini - ha ha ha! How did you know I fill my tea pot with dog beers? It should say "Beee-ah for two, me, you" right? And Hypochondria is now my middle name for sure. Love the Computer Gremlin Fixer DOTD, that looks yummy and sure sounds like some of us need to pour a little in our computers.

Wahine - you better get some of the DOTD right away to fix that nasty puter virus. I totally don't get the mind set of the weirdos that get their kicks sending out viruses. Puleeeeze get it fixed as it just won't do to have you not on as much for a while!

Well I'm off to go play with my dog beer pot, anyone care to join me for some beers by the pool? And I wish to pass on Husker's wishes again that we all have a no stupid comments week! Luv & Hugs, ~Beans

AArrgghhh it is HOT upstairs! Loved reading your posts (didn't get to ALL yet), but now too hot to answer. Gail, spot on with your talk with DD....maybe it is hormones that is getting her down? Does sound like she has a pretty charmed life, but I do remember that little things can seem like mountains when you are a teen. Hope she will feel better and start looking forward to a fun prom! Beans, Like your Beee-ah for two...can I join you??? An ICY COLD beer that is!

Lori, Have a GR8 time in Vegas, hope you get some good ideas, and travel safely!!!

Well, gotta go...I am starting to melt.....

Goodness you all are busy today. NM - missed your lost post but this last one sure made up for it!

Kathy that is awful about your computer - wonder if any one has done a psychological on people who do that, I mean they don't eve see it affect anyone - so weird and twisted - I guess they might know Ms. Barnes too!

Astorm - I have a daughter just like that - she turns 13 next week so I'm not where you are yet but nothing seems enough for her even if she gets a present she asked for. I love what you said to her - spot on!!! The school my two kids go two does so much community service and recycling and being green and thinking of others and that is all great till she gets home with me. I think I told you all she wanted the cleaner Kaboom for her birthday - well yep she is getting it. Actually she thinks that is all she is getting which amuses me greatly. Her birthday is easy in one respect as she loves to swim more than anything so pool toys all of us can enjoy for the summer are easy things to do.Speaking of which - Diet ON! Made a big vegetable salad, lots of fruit in the house and a lovely chocolate stash hidden deep in the freezer, just for emergencies!

Astorm, so did your talk really not have any immediate impact on her? I'm sure she heard you but whether she acknowledges it is always a different matter. So did you show her the Pretty in Pink picture? I mean if you made your prom dress you could always offer to make her a copy of that one! Such a sweet mom :)

I too think Goldie wins the hat contest hands down but primarily because she looks so pretty in it!

So did anyone watch the dog video link that Goldie helped me with. I just love that one....

Oh, my sister wrote to me about Ms Barnes she was listening to the car when she was arrested and said the guy was laughing so hard he could barely talk and apparently the news stations had a field day with her. She sent me two others which I'll have to get her to resend. One was about one guy wearing a coconut bra punching out another guy.... They have truely the oddest real life stories...

I agree the 13th is lucky  don't know why just have always felt that way. I'd be even more sure if like Dork, had won the lottery!! Guess it might help to play it first though...

So my son's play is getting to be a pain. He has to rent a tux for 7 days to say his one line! Then he needs to either rent or buy a pinstripe suit, shirt, tie, fedora and lace up shoes for this play! Hmmm? Seems like some creativity needs to go into these costumes rather than just go rent or buy expensive clothese these growing kids will wear once. Not happy about this. They say you can try thrift stores - hmm never say thrift stores that carry clothes from the 40's.

Yesterday was just horrid, cat lost her coller, son left his lunch at home, friend freaked out at work and needed me to meet her to comfort her but she forgot what time she asked me to meet her??, irrigation not working, had electrician, landscaper, irrigation people... still no luck, then about 10:00pm both not one but both AC 's stopped working! Huh? The downstairs came on sometime during the night as when I came down in the am it was back working, the upstairs came back on around 11:00am .... just too strange. Just one of those wretched days... MS and being hot do not work well together at all.

OK, so on to cleaning, carpool, and costume shopping......

did children wear tuxedos and pinstripe suits in the 40's?  My mom was always the costume person for our school plays, etc. She probably spent her own money on things as I know the budget was always limited. I remember going to Goodwill and helping her look for things she could modify... probably helped us look at things from a creative perspective.

I doubt DD would wear my prom creation, even if I still had it. It was a modified Jessica McClintock/Gunne Sax style with spaghetti straps and a little satin collar... she is more of a Betsey Johnson type. ... hormones? I hope so...  I was sick the day of my prom due to incredibly bad cramps and almost didn't go but all my friends came over and then there was a limo outside... and we all had such a great time! I just wanted my daughter to have one good memory of high school. I'm realizing that she has had problems everywhere (attended 3 different high schools) and at some point in your life you have to make your own happiness.

Thanks for the kind words. DH was upset with my reaction. He thinks I'm wrong and I should just return the dress and get her one she likes. I reminded him that when she was 3 YO she didn't want to go to Disneyland because we were leaving her baby sister with my MIL and she said it was not fair that the baby got Grandma all to herself... We dragged her to Disneyland, kicking and screaming, and she had a great time. So we decided to give her some one-on-one time with Grandma the next day, by taking the baby somewhere, and she had another tantrum because the baby got Mom and Dad all to herself! I'm just tired of dragging this kid! I'm sure it's a personality type and now that I think about it, DH may be the tree from which the apple fell.

did I mention that she has beautiful blue eyes?

I think we are on the right track Stanzie!

LOL...laffing so hard at your post Gail....your sense of humor is really great. SOOOOO funny about this DD not wanting to go to Disneyland cause baby sis had g'parents to herself!!! Well, someday....this too shall pass. Not passing fast enuf though, I know! Looking back, you might actually miss these days. Still hoping she gets in the right frame of mind to have a good time.

Stanzie, OMG your a/c's out too...glad yours came back on. HATE that this is a new unit, but our a/c guy kept trying other things, and now we have to pay another a/c guy for labor (now past the 1 yr mark), and STILL waiting on the parts (3 wks for parts so far) and it is SOOO hot. It is 91 in this room right now...I am dying. But DH is having a nap before we work on the condo, so wanted to see how everyone was doing. Such huge expenses for that play! Wonder if another theater group would rent out some costumes to you? OR a masquerade or costume shop? Still might be $$$ though.

DorK, Sorry you have car troubles, and you too Beans. That can get so expensive.

Is it happy hour yet????? Yeah, yah, I know...anytime is happy hour here, but if I don't have "some" rules for myself I might wanna dwink all the livelong day!!! LOL.

Just throwing my head in the door to say hi to all.  Had an appt. with the Dermatologist yesterday (it is now 4.30am) to check out the horns I seem to be growing on my head but she assures me that they are nothing that a bit of dry ice won't fix.......so I was duly dry iced until my jaw was so sore from clenching and told that they should fall  off in a couple of days....yay for me!!!  While everyone there is beginning to feel the heat and is looking to the a/c for relief, we are cranking up the heaters as the winter chill has definately arrived.

Sorry to hear of all the hassles with gremlins and computers and DD's who don't like their clothes...lol on that one....thank goodness mine are well and truly passed that stage..........hope all gets sorted soon.

Heading for the bar .....going to try a couple or more of those pink bikinis....they look rather interesting....or was that the guy wearing one?......not sure...................

    TITZ UP!!!!!!!

Lois....where are you in Toronto?  MY DD and SIL live on Bathhurst near the 401 (I think thats the freeway)....SIL is a native Torontonian,....kids have been married for 20 months....going to see them late June......

NM.....I don't wear a bra....nothing to support....I have small, 200cc mid profile silicone implants.....not as sore today....but the implant by the pit is strang looking...seems that is has changed over time....of course I generally don't look closely at it.....nothing to do about it as long as the pain doesn't persist.....

I've been sooo tired lately....hit 4 or so in the afternoon and ready for a nap....I'm going to sleep earlier and more tired!!!! now is it the antibiotics?  stopping anti-depressants or just plain old getting older!!!  There are days I refuse to believe that 55 is old and others that I just plain old feel old!!!

Starting a 6 week class tonight that one of the Rabbi's is teaching...its on Shabbat....so need to go make dinner as the class is at 7....Hope to be back later tonight....and no wine till I get back!!!
