Leave that lovely moose alone, I say! Beanie - love the avatar and this your cat is saying," your putting What on those Cheetoes?". I'd say someone or two ( kymn and Beanie not to name names, of course) have had a few too many kiltlifters! You know they do make more fun when there are cuties in Kilts.

Welcom Bar630 - good name! have a hammock but beware Goldie and HD tend to like to toss people out when they finally fall asleep, and Dork, well.... she will steal your drink and then blame it on Wahine! Let's see then Astorm's little furry ones will drink your drink if you leave it on the ground. NM might trip over a drink on the floor in her mad dash to beat Clair to the bar. I don't need to tell you who wins! Let's see Junie, well she will tell you hilarious stories so you don't notice she has eaten your dinner while you are laughing, Beanie, well.... she probably will bring you another drink , hmm I'm thinking Chrissy will too. Husker and Kymn they are doing chemo still so we let them get away with pretty much anything but soon they will be finished and we'll all have have to watch out. Now someone keeps running off with Pants in the bushes but I won't say who.... OK, back to work and munchkins.

Hi girlz! Pau Hana time, but dang it is 93 degrees where my puter is, so won't be here long, thats for sure. If you see a BIG puddle, puleez don't step in it, as it could be ME! Guess what! The bad karma is still kicking our ex-tenant. So, working there at the condo today, and who comes to the door but an officer (sheriff?) who is looking for our former tenant....seems the Alabama Dept of Revenue is looking for her! Ha! So it is good we didn't fork out money for an atty or pay for filing a claim, as now it looks like we would be standing in a long line trying to get what she owes us. I guess we can feel lucky that she only stiffed us for 1 1/2 mo rent, and all the damage. DH is still there w/ plumber trying to get the new hot water heater in, new faucet, etc (it is 6:45 pm)! I had to come home and do laundry and have happy hour! LOL.

I'll take some guac....just eat it w/ a spoon...will go good with my Seagrams!

Stanzie, Sorry your fav choir director has been forced to retire....sounds like a great way to leave though....5 hr concert...wow! The concert we went to on Mothers Day had 7 conductors...was the youth symphony, and was great, with alums from the past 50 yrs too, so great music.

bar630, pull up a barstool and stay awhile. We'll get the Tattie Tenders to fix your fav drink! What will you have?

Sorry I haven't been here as much as I would like, but it is really too hot up here. Was researching new netbooks, as want one I will like. The coils for the a/c units (in attic, and outside) should be here next wk right before our cruise. I will be back someday, I promise!!!

    Hugs, and TITZ UP!

    Kathy

P.S. Oops, Stanzie I was typing as you posted! I like your commentary on what everyone here might be doing! SO funny!! (But true....LOL)! How was your DD when she got home from school.....I mean what did she say about the other girls deciding not to come to the party???? Hope it is all ok.

Yummmmm Stanzie.....cupcakes and oreo truffles???? Sounds like a winner to a sweet-tooth junkie like me! Glad she will still get to have a party. BUT, what the heck are oreo truffles???? Can you bring some to the HTL???

sure they are sinfully easy. use a food processor and crush 36 oreos and add 8 oz creme cheese. Then cool in fridge or freezer. Roll into 42 balls, Melt semi sweet backing chocolate and dip truffles in and cool on wax paper and keep in fridge! Of course no calories at all!

g'evenin' loungies!!!   Don't know how I missed the hump day PAR-TAY....sigh.....but, will be many more!  Bar630--don't let that stanzie gal scare you off--I promise not to eat your food while we visit--steal your drink, maybe!   Welcome!!!

I was out on deck early this evening and it was so pleasant; cloudy; gentle breeze; perfect temp....so as I cooked dinner, told DH we were eating on the deck.   I get everything plated and on a tray to carry out; DH opens bottle of Red Diamond Merlot (You Washinngton state girls need to check this one out as it is from a Washington State vinyard and is my fav merlot at the time....)   So, all is ready and we go out to eat on the deck and IT IS POURING RAIN!!!!!   But, it is coming straight down and not blowing, so we sat and had dinner anyway.   It really was pleasant although a couple times we couldn't talk because the rain was pounding the deck roof so loud we couldn't hear.

Dinner is over; dishes in dishwasher; trying to watch tv and the shows keep getting interrupted with storm warnings!   I'm getting sooooo tired of this.    Kathy--don't know if they're headed your way, but we have had some really heavy rain this evening!!!    Have already had power blink a couple times.  Have my portable oxy tank at hand and a flashlight.    grrrrrrrrr.

Have never figured out how our discussion topics explode like wildfire....so much I'd like to comment on......teen prom dresses; teen angst; teens sneaking drinks; teens (soooooo glad those days are behing me!!!).....and then I remember some of my teen days and think that nothing really changes!!!

Would love to make some personal posts, but current tv bleep bleep bleep suggests that potential exists that will lose power soon.   Don't want to lose this post so will bail now.....

HAPPY   T G I F   manana!!   BBL!!!!    HUGGGSSSSSS to ALL!!!!!

Yay, Junie is IN THE HOUSE!!! (Well, the lounge anyway!). Hoping you DO NOT lose power! Yeah, I know the storms are a comin....esp tomorrow eve and Saturday. Upset about Saturday as it is our community yard sale day and I have missed the past few, traveling. So now I have tons of stuff to sell and will prolly get rained out.

Stanzie, that sounds soooooo good! Esp glad the calories have been taken out! Doesn't sound fattening at all....yeah....right! I know the girls will love them, and hope you can make your cupcakes too. Is her b'day tomorrow? Or Saturday?

DorK, where are ya? Hope you are doing okay....whats the situation with hubby? Very glad your home appraised well....now you can have lotsa moola for likker!!

Kymn, nice to see you here again!!!

Karen, did you get everything done? Must have been nice to sleep in, though.

My DH was with plumber till 7:30 tonight, so since he had quoted a price b4 the job, DH gave him a big tip. Apparently it was a real nightmare getting the old water heater out. Our deceased a/c repair guy had messed it up too, so it seems. More work to do there tomorrow..........

Dorthy - only 3.5 hours of sleep... hope you were doing something fun instead

Beanie - your avatar is so cute! Looks like maybe he's been eatin a lot of cheetohs

Stanzie-what a great summary of the "regulars" here in the lounge!

Bar630-Welcome to the HTL! Feel free to check out the casino (the machine that looks like an ATM isn't really, all it does is spit out $50 and $100 bills whenever someone walks by), the pool with the HUGE flast screen TV and swim up bar, an inflatable church and anything else you might want or need. If we don't have it, the Tenders will get it!

Wahine-don't melt while your checking in, and don't stay up there in that heat very long! Not good for you! Karma is a good thing, isn't it?

Junie-Hope you didn't have anything worse than a few power bumps. I cannot imagine living in tornado country, I'd be too scared to sleep!

AStorm-Glad you like the pics, I just couldn't resist the line up of kilts rising!

Karen-Enjoy welcoming DS home, drop in if you get an odd moment, we'll understand if we don't see you until Saturday morning! (Generous, aren't we??)

    DOTD: Sixteen and a Half

    7 oz Whiskey
    1/2 oz Pimm's No.1
    1/2 oz Punt e Mes
    1/2 oz Lime Juice

Kristy, sure hope you were able to enjoy your concert, and good deal on getting another chemo behind you.

Karen, sorry to hear that DS's year in HI didn't go as planned and sure hope you can get that ticket.

DorK......ok, I'll give you a vowel this time, but next time you have to buy one. Again, I am 3 pages behind, so someone may have given you one by now. Heck, you might even know her name by now. You can have 1-E!

Well, loungies....I see I have 3 pages to read! DO NOT have time this morning, and most likely it will be 4 pages by the time I get back here. We had a good show, it was actually pretty small tho.  Not too much new out this year. Kathy, I think you are leaving on your cruise............Have a FABULOUS time sista!

Hi, Working at the condo, been waiting on the roofers for 2 1/2 hrs and of course it is raining now! Cooler though than upstairs at home...at least I won't melt. Lori, Glad you are back and the show was good! Yay!!! Our cruise is next weekend, but tomorrow is supposed to be the yard sale for our community....rain or shine, but I don't want to put all the new stuff I have out in the rain, so hoping it stays clear till afternoon. Doubt it will, though.

Junie, Hope you didn't lose power! How nice to eat outside the other night, I love rain on a metal roof.....such a neat sound. The cicadas are SO loud at our house, and just all over you can find their skins(?) that they shed, I mean ALL over the driveway, stuck on trees, etc. My mom's house less than a mile away only had ONE that I could find, and our townhouse less than a mile the other way had hardly any, also. Here at the condo (by trees and stream) we don't hear any. HUH? Are we feeding them somehow and don't know it? Know the nymphs will eat the roots of plants and trees, and already see lots of holes in the trees where the cicadas bored holes to lay their eggs. WEIRD!!!! Guess its only here in the South????

Loved that "nutty" kilt pic....had seen it before but always makes me giggle!!! Peanuts, pop corn...."hot nuts" anyone??? LOL.

    Ciao for Niao,

    Hi LadieZ....

Not to much to report here other than it has been the oddest week working fast and furious at the beginning, then not at all busy.  So was in a bit of a funk earlier today.

So I got out one of my de-funk cures and went and detailed my car.  This removes the sand from skiing, cycling mud and grease, and assorted other substances.  (Sometimes best not to ask in these cases.)  Only problem was I dropped my sunglasses and of course ran over them.

So off to buy new ones.  Fortunately, not the ones I really like, and can get some more fun ones to rock.

Other thing is that I signed up for a major cycling weekend next week.  Ride each day east of the Cascades.  New places and should be a blast to ride.  Plus will whip my sorry hide in shape.

Because I want to be one of the ladiez breaking those riduculous "don't wear over a certain age" rules.  As in my leather mini skirt.

Hoping all is going great for all of you.  I am off to enjoy the sun, and find new shades.  Join all of you later at the PAR-TAY!

Kymm..........you are nearly on the home stretch, so just hang in there.  - Claire

Claire, you are a hoot. I want to see a picture of you in your leather mini-skirt!!!

Kathy, hmmm so I was thinking I was hearing tree frogs but maybe not!

All set for DD's party but it has about killed me.... so tired. We were going to put light out by the pool and I asked her to look up in the attic twice she said she did then asked her to look in the basement, she said she did. Hmmm, well, I went to look and there was No way she did either or any looking just lied and said she did. It was obvious as things had to be moved and she didn't do it. Had to explain she wanted this so this is really the least she can do especially since it had become such a last minute party. Was up very late cooking last night and All day today and setting everything up. She just looks at me and doesn't say a word. She pushes my buttons like no one else!

Stanzie, Hoping the party will go really well....I know the food you fixed will be awesome! When the girls settle down, just come and partay at the HTL. You prob will need it by then! Funny about the tree frogs. We have 2 or 3 here every so often but never hear them...I just find them when I lift up something outside, or if they are on our windows to the deck at night (then can see their undersides.....ooops X-rated). The other night we were at my parents and my dad was using his new gas grill, and we heard the most awful sound, but couldn't figure it out. FINALLY after the 2nd time, I found a little tree frog hiding betwn the porch light and brick. BOY this one was LOUD!!!! My Dad had never seen or heard one before, so that was sorta neat. Did you ever find out if yours were frogs or cicadas? I stood in front of a cherry tree by the driveway today and without moving, counted 10 skins they had shedded, just stuck on the tree like they shedded it while climbing. No telling how many were on the entire tree!

Kymn, Have a blast tonight! So neat you have a new friend to hang out with. After the evening ends, you can have a nightcap here with us!

    HUGZZZZZZZZZ,

ITs Friday evening and that means it almost candle lighting and Shabbat......Noah got home on schedule around noon.....He put the stuff in the car and asked to drive home....of course I knew he would as I drove his car....but I had to ask him for a hug!!!!  We had a  nice conversation...will tell you all about it when I have more time...but part of the problem in HI was that he missed his dog, Bear!!!!  He's done some laundry, got a hair cut, gone to see some friends and is going to a concert later tonight, but will eat shabbat dinner with us Cool...Brisket (special for him), bbq chicken, potatoe knishes, roasted garlic, challah, salad, green beans, cookies (lots)...and of course, this is what is for lunch after synagogue tomorrow and through the week-end.

Wishing everyone a good Friday night and Saturday....see you after Shabbat is over tomorrow night....Hugs....Karen

Me bad.  Bought some Chanel kick a** sunglasses (resale, of course) and didn't get anything sensible.  I have some sports ones that will do fine until I snag something more appropriate.

Then to the wine bar via Pike Place where I had a Dungeness Crab cocktail.  YUM!!!  Sampled some new wine from Wilridge.  Will get to see all this when I do next week end's ride.  I am so stoked now.

Which will get my butt out cycling.  Just so windy today.

Should probably have bought smelling salts as will need them when I see my clean car.  Will need major reviving.

Just put some potatoes in the oven.  Have asparagus, more Jerusalem artichoks, and some lamb kidneys to have with.  I know you are all saying BLECH, but I like them.

    And more wine.

And to try on those Chanel Shades one more time.  Think I scored.  Really, really cool.

Will try with Dolce leather mini (which is lined with leopard fabric).  Now there is an idea that puts a major smile on my face. - Claire

Wahine and Stanzie.....missed most of the frogs this spring.

Remember a year ago when it was so mild and I dragged a friend out in early February to do a long ride.  I was into Taxol, and could feel my body tanking so decided to do the Centennial Trail.  The most wonderful chorus of frogs who were all out serenading on this most delightful day.

A wonderful memory, and not one usually assoicated with chemo.  My friend was impressed.

Got back fine, and did the 35 (very flat) miles.

This spring, just a few bull frogs.  Still exciting.  I think everyone else was under warm mud.

In the East, there are peepers, who come out just as the ground gets warm.  So thrilling to hear.

I don't know about tree frogs.

Will look for frogs now (and toads and newts) on my travels. - Claire

Karen - wow, you have been busy! My DH loves snickerdoodles and they just discontinued them at the bakery by us. I never plan on kids being around for dinner anymore... this evening I went to the fish monger to get something really fresh (swordfish which I coated with cracked peppercorns, broiled and served with a fresh rape sauce and a green salad with greens from my garden). DD1 and her BF stuck around long enough for dinner but DD1 and her friend went to the taqueria. Everyone left after dinner... remember when Friday night was the highlight of your week? I used to think of it as my reward for making it through the workweek. That was before I knew what "work" meant!

NM - oh so naughty! (Thank you for that)

Kymn - I have a friend who has become very dear to me since bc. We met when our DD's went to elementary school together. She was so kind to me during treatment and brought me flowers and visited me... she was the first person I told about my dx because I knew she had survived some trauma in her own life and had a great attitude and I needed strong people around me. As it turned out, she was diagnosed almost year to the day after me with a practically identical pathology... tumor same size, same grade, same location... crazy. I am so appreciative of her friendship over the past few years but I can't help thinking that I brought her bad juju. Or maybe we were brought together so that we could support each other. In any event, I think we gravitate to people who can help us build a supportive environment when we need it... and sometimes we are drawn into someone else's magnetic field.

Claire - sorry bout your shades. I lost a really nice pair a couple of months ago and replaced them with these really huge things (Coach) that hit my fat cheeks when I smile... not that I smile that often while driving, but.. happy shopping.

Stanzie - how was the party?

Kristy - thinking of you today. Hope the treatment wasn't too harsh.

DH just filled my glass with more chardonnay and WD fell asleep on my chest... I don't think I miss Friday nights at clubs.

Wahine-X-rated frog undersides???? Interesting concept! I've got these odd mental pictures running through my mind now. . .

Karen-missing a dog is a powerful thing, poor boy! Did the dog miss him, too? You had to ask for a hug? Oh, well, maybe it's a guy thing. Happy Shabatt!

Claire-Being stoked is a good thing! I had steak and kidney pie once, not sure what kind of kidneys they were but I remember I like it. Got a pic of you in the cool Chanel Shades?? I've finally got peepers here where I live, so nice to listen to at night.

AStorm-I don't believe you brought your friend any bad juju. It's unfortunate that she got bc, too, and a coincidence that the pathology and location are so similar, but that's all. I do not believe that we do thing to bring bc on ourselves nor do I believe we can give it to others. Being brought together to support each other-now THAT I can believe!

Stanzie-family really can push your buttons, can't they? I hope the party goes well AND she helps clean up afterwards!

Kymn-I think all of us have met one or two (or more) good people on thisjourney. I'd rather have met them some other way, but nobody asked my opinion! And you CAN do the rest. We'll help, but you can do it!

I'm supposed to help a friend move today, but I don't feel very good.  Got the pukes and 'hershey squirts" as my brother woud say.  Guess I'm gonna have to call and bow out, and spend the day in the luxurious HTL powder room, with the wenches supplying my drinks.  Or is the powder room co-ed?

    DOTD:  Hershey Squirts

    1 part Whiskey
    3 parts (Hot) Chocolate

Gail, I am just back at your post about Prom. Is that picture of your daughter? What great advice you gave her. She may not have agreed, but perhaps some day she will remember and reflect on that. You are a good Mommie! Oh, I too want to see your prom dress!

Beans, I think we should all have the thinner bodies we had when we were younger! And I'm only talking 5 years ago!

Kathy, bummer bummer about your puter. If its not a virus its malware or spyware!

Stanzie, so funny about your DD and the Kaboom! And from your comment Mitch, I guess that is not Gail's DD and someone from the movie "Pretty in Pink"? I did not see that, can you tell? I have to go back and find the dog link, to send to my mom. I was telling her about it, and she has a Shepard. That is awful, the money they want you to spend for your sons play! Do you know how to post on Craig's List? You could not only look there for the suit, but put an ad in that you are looking for one? And sorry for the day you had, sure had lots go wrong!

You girls are all about making me cry with all the hat comments. Remember, that is an old picture. Warning, objects in the avatar are not as they appear to be in real life!

Chrissy....horns? Not sure whether to laugh or say "you poor thing". Seriously? ...and dry ice to fix it? My my, but still good to see you. And I don't think they are horns, but a halo that hasn't fully developed ;)

Junie, what a hilarious story about DH's b-day. Altho you have the best stories! Too bad you can't find those pictures. I hope they didn't get thrown out when the two of you were cleaning. Glad the AC is helping with your breathing.

Dork, glad you got the appraisal you were hoping for. I am in the same boat as you. Just too much going on, to spend too much time here. I am only going to get through one more page (I don't read ahead) currently on page 491 and won't get any further today!

Kathy, your ex tenant is doing WHAT? Are you F'ing kidding me?

Ok, Mitch is last one to post on this page, about hiding the liquor. YES, hide it all....not worth taking a chance. You could get sued!

Ok, I am out to play in the dirt........I might not even clean this weekend. OMG, just not sure I can follow through with that! One of these morning I may catch up. Grabbing one of those Pink Bikinis and heading out.

Hope ya'all are well.  Way too far behind to read and catch up.  Hoping to make it a productive day (read - clean the bathroom and do some laundry) and then enjoy some fun at a spring festival with some friends tonight.

Just passed the 6-week mark back to work full-time.  My brain is NOT what it used to be and I am still tiiirrred.  REALLY need to get on the walking bandwagon and lose a grip of weight.  I'm really my own worst enemy on that front right now.  See my radiation onco for my first followup on Monday; having some mild lymphedema in my armpit area so I'm going to ask her for a referral to the LE specialist.  Other than that and some fatigue, I'm doin' okay.

    CHEERS!

NM, you are tooooo funnay! Even when you are not feeling well, having the "hershey squirts"..omg that is a funny saying, but I know the results would not be much fun. Hope you feel A-OK soon!Love the pic of the undersides of the frogs...NOPE never seen one like that...but love their suction cup feet on the window...so awesome. Such a funny pic though! You just know how to find the right pictures for what each of us are chatting about. NOW you get well, asap!!!

Lori, YUP, the extenant is doing that! We are just so shocked at what she is doing to scam EVERYONE! Had the yard sale here this morning, and always meet such nice people. Met a guy who does all sorts of repairs (yay!),and 2 other people (diff times) that also own townhouses where ours is, and rent them out. Not too many there, so that was a surprise. Of course, I talk to everyone and find out all sorts of things! LOL. Thank God the rain held off till after 11, when we decided to start putting stuff up. Did well, but of course I had a lot to sell. After DH's nap, then we go to work at the condo. There is a stream and trees off the screened in back room, so it is nice to have that open while we work. PLUS it is really cool today....think highs in upper 60's? My kind of weather. Hope you get to play in the dirt today!!! Saw the thing on the news about that dust storm kicking up and TAKING UP an inflatable kids play structure (that they bounce and jump in) and wrapping it around a pole...thank god kids were not in it at the time....this was in AZ!

Sorry about the LE, Mrs. Nice. That really sucks! I need to lose weight too....you can pm me with any good hints you come across! Nice to see you back here.

I miss the ol' regulars that haven't been around awhile, like Jaybird, Dee, CAZ, HD, etc. Where are you all??? And Beans, how ya doing??? DorK, did that help you when Lori gave you a "letter"? Boy, we are a mean bunch, not even letting you know Stanzie's name, but making you work for it...LOL.

To "Hershey Squirts" (the drink that is!)!!! BARMEN!

*CLANG!*, *clang*, *clang*....ooops I dropped a pin. SO quiet here you can hear a pin drop! Hope everyone is okay.

The ex-tenant is getting into deeper and deeper $hit!!! Now, she apparently has alias(es) as we received a collection notice, with her first name and a different last name! WTF??? Soooooo glad she is OUT of our condo!!! I am having to scrape and scrub all her dirt and soap skum in the jacuzzi....(also have to re-grout, etc). I really don't think she cleaned ANYTHING in the almost 2 yrs she was there!!! Unless I had a cleaning lady, I wouldn't want anyone to have to clean up after me like that! Yucko!!! Oh, and I did change out the dead bolt yesterday....do NOT trust this gal!

ChEARS! Chairs! Deadbeats be Gone!! Oh, tonight is SNL...anyone wanna have some champagne and watch it with me???
