OK JAN...now I get the "ears" thing!!! Had to go back and check out the men Vera sent me to see if they have any grabbable (is that a word?) ears!!! Boy the two of us are in tough shape, we're both gonna end up in trouble!

Welcome Linda...Advil and wine don't mix!! No one told me that...just kidding. This is a great place to be.

Hi Randy...hope your getting over your hysterectomy with no problems...come back and pull up a bar stool with us.

have a great day ladies...better work or I'll get canned for sure and have no money for wine!

Welcome Linda! I haven't been posting much here as I've become quite a bore. LOL!! Just had my expander surgery last Wednesday and detox'd my body a couple of weeks before. Now I don't even feel like a drink. Thought for sure I'd want a cup of coffee immediately following surgery and still haven't been able to stomach even that vice one a week later. Boring.. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll catch up with the rest of you.

    Randy- Glad you're feeling good.

All the rest of you lovely ladies- have a grand day!!

Linda - welcome! Pull up a bar stool!

Lini - you'll have to catch up when you're feeling better.

Randi - good to hear from you, as I'd been thinking just the other day we hadn't heard from you in a while.

Christine - is it just me, or is Nip/Tuck getting too far out there? I thought last nights episode was crapolla (new word)

    Cheers!

A big welcome from me too, Linda!

Janis - I do get the ears thing with Garver. He is really good looking also. I'd like to grab him and Nunez and hang on for dear life .!

You can send in a tape to be on that show? I didn't know that. I thought all those people just strolled in off the street. I would love to get my next tat there. Kat does the most AMAZING portrait work. I just can't decide what kind of tattoo I want. I don't want the pink ribbon, but I do want to celebrate my survivorship. Hhhmmmm

Well, probably no drinking again tonight, except for my dinner red. We are going to an RV seminar tonight because we have this silly RV and can't figure out how to work it for the life of us! I can blame chemo brain, but DH....?
There is a whole lot to learn and remember.

Have a couple of BIG glasses of wine for me tonight.

Thanks for all the welcomes, ladies! I knew y'all were my kind of people.

Lini -- I'm in the same boat as you! Decided to detox myself before last week's surgery, and now can't drink because of the pain meds. Hoping to be off all meds by the weekend. And hope I'm not boring when I'm not drinking! You've got me worried now!

Jan - good luck with the RV seminar. Those RVs are fun!

    Later

Guess I am drinking alone tonight. I was all set to sit back and watch the Cardinals beat the NY Mets (sorry NY girls) I guess NY had a bout of bad weather and the game was called! So once again, cooking a yummy dinner, Julia Child style, a lil wine for the pot, a lotta wine in the glass! lol
GO CARDS!!! If there is no one on this thread cheering for the Mets, I can tell you, St. Louis has a slogan, used only when we are playing them in baseball:
"Mets are Pond Scum" if there are Mets fans here, sorry and NEVERMIND, I retrack, because you all mean more to me.

Oh I really have to re-track for all NY'ers.I am sorry about Cory Lidle and the plane accident today. How can I fight a city suffering loss?

Shel - growing up a hockey sister, I still believe in "Baseball, apple pie and chevrolet".LOL Especially when we are in the playoffs! The most fun of my life, which I shared with my mom, no longer with us, is the '82 World Series, and she really never cared about any sports, until then.

No offense! I know hockey is the end-all there and it really was when I was growing up too. I was afraid of offending NYers.
I am LMAO at the Ro-Tel tomatoes. When we were in high school it was our big party dip, mixed with Velvetta or Cheez-Wiz.
I know Canada has Cheez-Wiz 'cuz on a hockey trip in the '70s we got snowed in, some small town and had to eat Cheez-wiz and Peanut Butter on crackers for dinner.

Wahoo!!!! Having a glass of wine right now - the heck with pain meds, wine will do a better job!

Jan - how did the RV seminar go?

Shel - aren't Rotel tomatoes the best? I'm a Scot, transpanted to Texas, and found those tomatoes soon after I got here. They are SO good.

Lini - are you feeling better?

Actually I just wanted you to feel guilty for complaining about your heart-felt gift. LOL!!!

We've got to find a cheaper way to ship though if you want some more.

So, what do they taste like? Are they real spicy, or just kind of spicy. I don't think that I've ever bought them for myself. Although the velveeta cheese thingy that Christine was talking about sounds familiar. Could you imagine barfing up that after the party? Oh, sorry!

Okay, Linda, now I need to buy really go out and buy some Rotel for myself once I can drive again. I'm feeling better, thanks for asking. Just mopey 'cause of all the restrictions. Hate asking for help, if you know what I mean. DH just took me grocery shopping. I'd really much rather do for myself. I don't have any pain, so I have to remind myself to stop sometimes. I really want this to go right the first time so I am following the doc's orders.

I haven't been able to stomach booze or coffee, but I think I'll try again tonight and open a bottle of wine to go with my steak and potato. Wish I had some Rotel..

    lmao!

ordinarily i love "hot and spicey".......and the rotels would have fit right in to my diet.......i think it's actually just stress and lack of food intake that "set me off"!!!!!

and hey baby........now that you've turned me on to exactly what these tomatoes are, i'll definitely put tthem on my list for border crossingg shopping trips lol!

i sent you a little something today myself!!!!! thank you again for making my day!!!!!

Hey buddies - happy Friday the 13th. (any Fri is good IMO)

Wanted to let you all know Robin had a ct scan yesterday that indicated significant improvement after 6 weeks of chemo! I PM'd her to see how she was doing, and she asked that I share the news with her drinkin' buddies. She hopes to join us very soon with a cold Bud.

    Cheers!

Well, let's all drink to Robin's good news! Cheers!

I've never had the Ro-Tel tomatoes so I can't give my opinion (for once!) but if I ever do it won't be with Velveeta.

And I have a date tonight. With a handsome guy (saw his pic) from the dating web-site I joined last month. The other guy I went out with twice is MIA so onward I go!

Unfortunately I'm working until 6:30 (I'm going to try to leave early) so we're meeting at 8:00 but it's a nice place (Carlucci's for those of you in Chicagoland) and he's already mentioned a bottle of Cab (I'll let you know what he picks) and we'll see how it goes. I'll definitely have some good wine and good food if nothing else!

Ok ladies I need a good stiff drink or two or three, being friday the 13th, my morning started off with the electricty going out in the middle of me and my baby step daughter putting make up on. than to make matters worse I take baby daugther for her license, and she failed. Now that may not seem bad, but this girl has never failed at anything in her life, she has an above genius iq, has a resume that reads like a freaking doctor, so this is just beyond devestating for her. My heart is so heavy and sad, I wish I could help her but she is just so upset.

So in 6 hours I'm going to drink some serious drinks.

Hope all of you laides have a better friday the 13th than I did.

    Yes, Here! Here! to Robin!!

So, Janis - you have a hot date tonight? WooHoo for you sister!

I will admit that I love Rotel & Velveeta dip on tortilla chips! It's a Midwest staple - no shit! I also like Velveeta melted over steamed broccoli. YUMMMMY!!!

I know Velveeta is full of processed crap - yet I love it on certain things.

I've had a couple of Capt Morgan and Coke Zero. Delicious combo.....

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I've had the cold from HELL the last 3 days, so I NEED to drink spiced rum for medicinal purposes...ya know, to open my sinuses, and all that and everything.

    Cheers!
