Yeah Robin way to go!
Randi, tell Baby girl that it's OK it was just practice for when she blows them away next time she takes the test. Nerves get the best of us.
Lini glad to hear you're feeling better but do take it easy.
Shel now that you've gone so long since eating right you'll need to be kind to your stomach and start off slow. eat a little bit several times a day til you're back to your usual self. I know it's hard right now but it will get better.0 -

More good news, Janis on a hot date with a good looking man. You go girl. fingres crossed that it's a great one.
randi
Randi,
Welcome back!
Oh, yes, a good date! He stated on his profile that he's 39 but after seeing his pic and then meeting him (and finding out that his oldest son is 25!) there's no way he's 39! But he's nice and handsome and in shape (no gut!) and intelligent so another date will definitely be in the future!
Dinner was delicious (we both had fish) and the Sterling Cab (the high end one not the other) was excellent! So, worth the effort of putting on clean clothes after work. Our next date will be in a couple of weeks as he's going out of town next week and is in the process of closing on a house so if I'm still available then he can have me!
Cheers!

Shel,
You do NOT want to go to the web site that I went to unless you're very strong or looking just for (s.e.x).
Fun, for sure, but ya gotta weed through the weirdo's.0 -
You go Shel!! I checked out that website...and yes you gotta watch for the weirdo's...some are obvious!
Gonna open that wine from Teena tonight!!! Don't know if I'll be able to crawl back to the computer to join you all but if I don't know that I am toasting every one of you with every glass (hmmm...that's a lot of glasses...may not be here tomorrow either!)
Hugs all
Vickie
Donna...I love Velveeta on brocolli!!! and cauliflower...it's good "bad" food...it's my grandmothers fault! (sorry gram)0 -
So, where the heck has everyone been??? This place just hasn't been as much fun lately!
Cheers?

(who's freezing her a** off here in Chicago)0 -
I haven't been able to stomach alcohol since my sx. Anybody else have this problem before? I barely get half a glass of wine or half a bottle of beer down and I get all bloated and my chest wrapping really tightens up to where I can barely breathe. I guess my problems could be worse.
How ya feeling this morning Vickie? How's everyone else?
It has been quite slow around here. We need to have a party or something. Maybe I'll be able to handle shots of something??
lini
P.S. Sorry it's so cold in Chicago. It's 55 and really dark and gloomy here. It sucks when the sun doesn't come out, but at least I can still wear my flip-flops.0 -
Hi! I dont get to come to this site too much, but I always read it and love it. I usually only come on the boards in the early morning, so its hard to think about drinking when your not awake yet.
Lini: I totally lost my taste for wine for about a month after surgery. The thought of a glass upset my stomach. Im so glad that passed, cause I love my wine.
I have been sick with a cold so I havent had any wine for 2 weeks. Guess what? I lost 10 pounds!
Janis: Im sitting here freezing right along with you. Winter in Chicago - lets just say its not fun.
Nicki0 -
Nicki,
Hope you feel better soon! Glad that you stopped in for a visit. Unfortunately my loss of drink has not equaled a loss of weight. Finally able to stomach coffee again so maybe the pipes will be rumbling some more and that might help.
lini0 -
Hi ALL- I am here. Have been so busy with the MLB play-offs. Either watching or going to games and busy at work because so many people are in town for the games. I LOVE post-season baseball!
Nicki, glad your cold is finally gone.
Lini- Give it some time, something is sure to have you saying soon, "I need a drink" "Rumbling pipes?" lol
Vickie- are you still nursing that bottle of wine from Teena. What was it?
Cheryl - hope you enjoyed the Survivor Brunch. I have been to two. They are complimentary for surviviors. The first yr someone took me, then I brought newly dx survivor with me the second yr. It was a great event.
Oh and Janis- what can I say to you except "Go Girl" Keep us up on any new dates.
Shel, Donna and Randi - Hope you are all having a good weekend. I hope the sky is clear and it is not getting too cold where you all are.0 -
Christine and Lini...not nursing that bottle any longer...it was a wonderful french white wine...Domaine de la Fruitiere...wow. Took me all day to get it out of my system. THANK YOU TEENA!!! She also sent me a pair of "traveling pants" for good luck...oh were they ever good luck! I rented the movie "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" since that's why she sent them but haven't watched it yet...too busy. I watched Posidian last night while enjoying the wine and have to say it was a bit disappointing...good effects but too predictable.
No drinking for me tonight...not after last night...and back to work tomorrow.
Lini...no fair wearing flip flops...freezing my a$$ off here too but at least I'm not in Buffalo where they still have 75,000 people without power!!
Hugs all...have one for me tonight.
Vickie0 -
lol!
i can't wait to get my ass to the mayan and into my bikini and some flip flops!

CHEERS!0 -
cheryl- Looking fo some baby pics. What a beautiful name!
CONGRATS GRANDMA!
shel - are you ready to "get out there?" I think if you were really ready, you'd be great at it.
The past few months, I have taken the opportunity to learn about, care for, take care of ME, ME, ME! Maybe if I do this first, I won't end up with the wrong guy again next time. Just a thought.
hugs girls!0 -
Congratulations!!! Definitely cause for celebration (read drinking)! I'mm have a glass of wine (or two) tonight while watching the Bears.
Christine, work away but if you're you you should do okay. I changed my mind-set as to what I wanted and now it seems I'm having more fun meeting men. My expectations have changed (I expect less!) so if I don't like them it's no big deal. But so far the dating site has really been good for me. Unfortunately I'm still celibate but I've met some nice guys and expect to choose one of them to get wild with very soon! A new one Tuesday night!0 -
Janis you are to much. I love that your out there having a good time meeting men. Wahoooooooooooo. I don't even know what I would do if I found myself single again. Thank God I have the Hubster..........
Cheryl, wahoooooooo a new grandbaby, you go sister. My nephew's daughter had a baby boy on October 12th. Yeah, but it was sad too, her dad passed away last year, so they named the baby after him.
Ok all you other laides seem like your doing great, and having fun, other than anyone in Buffalo, man that was a nasty storm, and so early in the season.
Hubby and I stacked wood all weekend for our fireplace, man that is a lot of work and took a lot of drinks to easy the pain in my body.
Anyho, hope you all have a nice week.

No one is drinking tonight?
I sure as h*ll am...wrecked my car today and I am so incredibly sore it isn't funny. D*mn deer (an eight point buck)just fell out of the sky and landed on my hood...bounced around a bit...went into the windshield...did major damage to my poor car (and it's only a year and a half old). Probably totaled according to the garage as the estimate is pretty huge so now I have a rental until the adjuster comes out to decide what to do. Car shopping isn't on my list of fun things to do...drinking is...sooooo gonna have a good stiff drink tonight and soak in the tub to see if I can loosen up these really sore stiff muscles! It's bow season here so I had to all my brother who is a major hunter to tell him that I got an 8 point before he did!! Ha...he wasn't impressed. MEN!
Cheryl...congratulations on that new baby...what a wonderful thing!
Hugs (very tender careful ones...I can barely move) to all tonight...If I don't reappear tomorrow send help...may not be able to get out of the tub!
Vickie0 -
(((Vickie))) Dang!!! WTF? I know those deer just run and don't 'know' about cars and traffic but.....
Glad you're okay! Start car shopping now, just in case. It seems that nowadays cars are considered totaled very easily. Were you at least able to keep the buck?
I'll have a drink for you tonight! The cheap Zinfandel I bought was corked so it's going back for a refund tomorrow. I had one bottle of wine in the basement, a Steven Vincent Pinot Noir, so I opened it. I usually get a headache from Pinot Noir but I'll take that chance since I don't have to work tomorrow! Cheers!0 -
Here's a pic of Cloe taken last weekend. she wasn't feeling very good, darn teeth coming in are hurting her. she's almost 10 months old. She's grandbaby #3 (but my first biological one) I have two older ones by my step daughter and of course the newset one by my step son. Can't wait to go see them.
No drinking for me tonight.
Vickie I'm glad you're Ok it a shame you can't save the meat once that happens! Good luck finding a new car.0 -
Great pic!
And the Bears win!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
Cheers!!!
Janis L0 -
OGHHHHHHHHHHHHH no Vickie I hate to hear that. I'm glad your ok.
Great baby pic, she is way to cute.
man I did some more wood stacking last night and all I have to say is NEXT TIME I'M GETTING A GAS FIREPLACE. boom hit the switch and it's on, but then again all that work, was a good excuse for a nice bottle of wine.
Have a good day laides.......
Randi0 -
Randi, I firmly believe that alcohol is a fine reward for a job well done! Exercise is good and rexaling afterwards with wine (or whatever) is even better!0

oh sh*t ladies...i just wrecked car number two in two days. driving home with the rental car a lady pulled out in front of me, i hit the brakes to miss hitting her...ended up in the friggin ditch...airbags went off...what a mess. banged up my face, my hands the car. she pulled back in her driveway, the police came and i explained what happened, she lied and said she didn't pull out that she was just sitting at the bottom of her drive and i lost it!!!! i am so incredibly p*ssed...how can someone tell a bald face lie like that!!! the cop told me that it was her word against mine and since i didn't hit her he couldn't write her any tickets and let her go without even getting her name!!! I'm sorry but...WTF!!! when she left she pulled out and actually drove down the wrong side of the road before slowly going into her lane and then the cop says to me "Is that what she was doing when you came around the corner!!!!" I told him yes and thats what I had been telling him all along, he just wouldn't listen. No tickets but damn...I wrecked the rental car.
My hands are banged up from the steering wheel...should i get this checked out (worse on my "missing lymph node" side)? I just don't know what to friggin do at this point. Need a rock to crawl under for a few days.
If it weren't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all.
Sorry for dumping on all of you again...you are all i've got.
NEED A DRINK AND A VACATION FROM CRAP.0 -
Have the whole bottle, Vickie, not just a drink. You need it to take your head away from all the bad crap. It's got to get better. Can you take a few days off of work to get your nerves calmed?? Dump all you want, girl. That's what we're here for.
lini0 -
OH NO!! Vickie, you poor thing. I hope your hands are OK.
((((((((((((Vickie)))))))))))
Take some time to catch your breath, but anytime your airbags go off you should get checked out by a doc. Just to make sure you are OK.
Deb C.0 -
