TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS
This has been a rough few days...
It is time for us to hook up our horses and circle our wagons around some of our dear sisters who need us the most right now.
Robin, Rhymee, Mena, Denise, Marsha, Katz & Sarah, Gwenn, Pennylane, Dianne, Shelliks and all who need some love and care from the sisterhood.
I will take the first watch.
(edited to add that since we started the circle, we have lost many angels mentioned above and others who were inside the circle. Nicki/Chemosabi kept watch over the circle many nights for us. Now, she will watch over the campfire with the angels she joined tonight. Rest in Peace you beautiful friends, we love you all and will never forget you.)

Well, Im joining vicki with the early morning watch. Brought some fresh coffee and tea.
The sun is starting to peak over the horizon. Daylight will be here soon. We stand strong and we stand tall.
I just saw a falling star and made my wish.
Now i'm stomping my foot and Im saying "I made as hell and Im not gonna take it anymore." So there - as I am sticking out my tongue.
Nicki0 -
I'm back up as well. Shotgun in one hand, coffee in the other. Glad to know it was a peaceful night.
You gals who handled the night shift might want to go get some rest.0 -

Ladies, I do not believe I have "met" a better bunch of ladies than you are..I am sitting here with tears running down my face after reading these posts..
As you all know, sometimes you can feel so lonely fighting this disease, and it so wonderful to know that you have some wonderful friends like you that know what you are going through and there to cheer you on, pray for you and hug you when you need it..Thank you so very much everyone and I love each one of you..
Sending big hugs your way...
Hugs and God Bless,
Cherie

Ok all of the noise from the "fine hunks" has awakened me. I see that we are protecting even more of our "sister". No problem, we are all strong enough to protect. Much love....
0 -
Here helping out on the day shift...keep those hunks parading so I can keep these radiation exhaustion eyes open!! No beasts will get past our special circle of healing wagons.
Love and hugs all around

Peggy - It looks like the catfight is over. Plenty of cowboys for all the cowgirls. Don't forget a little something for yourself.
Why thanks lini...don't mind if I do...
AND...there are very, very few men that could convince me to cross back over to the other side...can only think of two right off the top of my head...

Have a great day!
Peggy

Deb - why do things always get to us when we are under the covers. It all hit me this am, I put on my iPod, laid in bed and had myself a good cry over all of this. Got up, showered and I am also ready to face the day- kicking some cancer ass! Stand back, what's that saying about a "....woman's fury"
Oh Peg, what a beautiful cowboy chica you found and I love those two guys.0 -
Peggy, your taste in women is much better than your taste in men.
0 -
i guess i get the afternoon shift...i'll take it gladly.
thinking of all my sisters0 -
Prayers for all the women listed above and those not mentioned but struggling with this dreadful disease including all the newbies and those with mets.
Take care.0 -
Brenda, how very, very sweet and comforting.
Shirley0 -
Been out of the picture for awhile - taking a break from the cancer nightmare as best I can. I don't know what all is going on with you gals, but I love you all and many of you have been an inspiration to me thru my bc journey.
I'm here, brought my wagon and my teacup poodle for protection from the beast - she's not feroceous, but maybe the beast will get distracted by her "cuteness" and someone can sucker punch it...with a shotgun!!!
Prayers going up for all my bc sisters! I pray for you all daily!
Pass the coffee - it may be mid-day, but this cowgirl isn't resting well these days!
(((((((((((Big ol' Georgia HUGS!)))))))))
Marla0 -

Standing in the circle, strong and ready. So whats for dinner?
Hugs to everyone
Nicki0 -
I cooked up a big pot of homemade veggi soup with veggies from my garden...healthy, warm and filling. The wheat bread is almost ready to come out of the oven and I made Super Fantastic Carmelastic Brownies...you have to feed the soul to my sisters. Chocolate may not cure cancer, but it sure makes me smile

Deb C.0 -

0 -
Hey Shel...Hooch goes with EVERYTHING...even veggie soup *grin* Bring it on

Deb C.0 -

My vote is that Dave should come, but I'm might have ulterior motives .***evil grin***Ive always had a soft spot for bad boys .
Deb C.
Whos hubby will act like a bad boy if I ask the right way!!0 -
Oh, and think how good the sing-along will be if Dave comes!! Yep, bring him

Deb0 -
You ladies are too funny. I'm sitting at work reading this thread and trying not to follow shel38 and spit all over my computer....I was going to cook dinner but I see Deb started it - what do we need - wine? Seriously ladies, hoping today was a better day for our sisters that have had a tough time recently.
Love you guys.
Margaret0 -
peggy??????? can you pick him up on your way for me?
i don't have enough room in my jeep for him, his guitar and all this moonshine!0 -
LOL Shel38--just let him sit up on top. You'll be the hit of the highway!
0 -
Sorry Girls, I am late to the circle. Sorry Shel....Dave and I were...oops!!
Seriously though, I love each and everyone of you girls, boy, if wishing were enough...
love Tina0 -
While we sit by the fire and wait for the singing to start, how about a poem...
Uninvited Guest
You are there at my awakening,
Every morning as I arise to meet a new day.
Every smile I make or tear I shed
Is shadowed by your presence,
And though no one can tell you're there,
You are ever so present to me.
Your grip is tight
So I feel you constantly.
You will not leave
So I must live with you,
And pray that you will be
More gentle with me
Than you have been with others.
I do not want you
But appreciate you,
For you have taught me to love
That which I have not loved before.
Life.
by Marcus Langston0 -
Well, I'm just getting here with some old-fashioned johnnycakes and bacon, yum :-) The coffee sure smells good!
Ready for the next shift -
Leslie0 -
Pass the moonshine ladies...it's going to be a sleepless night. Sending positive energy and keeping the beasts away...would shoot this beast down if I could...shotgun is loaded and ready.
Hope all our girls in the center are feeling our force.
vickie0 -
Oh, no! I was going to tell you all that Dave and I had an arrangement tonight. Then I came across this:
Quote:
Just weeks after splitting from Carmen Electra, Dave Navarro is taking up with a fellow not-quite-singleton, adult film star Jenna Jameson, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.
....Navarro and Jameson co-hosted this year's Erotica L.A. event in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Ah, Dave, I barely knew ye'!0 -
Peggy,
I love the two boys. They're two of my favorites. Never went for the usual picks-Cruise, Gibson, Pitt. Yucky, yuck!!
lini0 -
Just poking my head in to make sure all is well.I'm up but have a day's work to perform before I can get online for real! Will be here for the midnight shift, guns loaded for bear(or beast).
0 -
Straykat...Dave obviously doesn't know what he's missing! Shall we send a posse to round him up?
0 -
When it's time for my watch, Mr. Depp said he would stay up with me to keep watch. So we'll be out on the water in his pirate ship keeping guard. If this ship's a rockin......
0 -
It's a darn good thing Shel isn't here, 'cause I feel a catfight coming on. No one messes with "her" Dave.
0 -
Shel can have Dave, I'll take Sam Elliot. He would never wear eye makeup. He's a real cowboy lovin' gal's man!
0 -
Quote:
peggy??????? can you pick him up on your way for me?
Please tell me you're not asking me to pick up Dave "I like public colon cleansing" Navarro...you aren't, are you??? LMAO
Peggy0 -
Ladies is it okay if I give you a update on Denise
here? since she is in your circle I thought it would be okay
Denise went for a second opinion today
and her doctor sent her to a new surgeon who Denise feels much more comfortable about, We tryed to google the first
Surgeon and found very little on him and we had never heard of him so she found another, and low and behold that is the one her Doctor (GP) Suggested and he wanted to see her today .
SO SHE HAS HAD HER FIRST CONSULT WITH HIM TODAY.
He wants to do a 3-D image to see the relationship of the
skull to the anuerysm . His office will call tommorow with the date of test. She feels much better with this Surgeon he took time with her. explained alot to her.
hugs,
Carrie0 -
Okay, so I'm a real doofus. I thought Pacino was Andy Garcia. Somebody else can have Pacino if Peggy can find Randy Andy for me.
lini0 -
I must be so old. The only man who gets me going (besides DH :-) is Sean Connery.

Leslie. . . I'm melting, melting. . .
0 -
Is it time for Kum ba yah(sp?), yet?? Feel like a s'more. The fire's hot and marshmallows are ready.

lini0 -
taking a break to send many good thoughts to denise!

Where is Rhyme? Anyone?...why isn't she here? I'm just verklempt by all of this, as I'm sure many others are...also very antsy...onc visit and new (6th) chemo tomorrow...
Yes, kumbaya would be comforting. So would whiskey, but xanax will have to do for tonight. Oh, btw, Sheryl Crow is on Larry King at 10 for anyone that cares to watch...while you're on watch, of course...keep one eye on the campsite.
I read these posts and feel like I'm actually camping out with you guys...feels very safe and loving...wish I could have you all here in my living room. One big sleepover...all of us together...funny how a computer can make such a difference, and I tell you it does.
I am crying, but what's new lately...
I hate guns, but in this venue, I kinda like the idea of Alaskadeb all pissed off with her extra bullets hahahaha...thanks for that visual.
I'm bunkering down for the night and just checked in for some good lovin' from you all. Is that sick or what? I miss Rhyme, though...gonna call her now...
Take care, everyone...Peggy, your pics are awesome...bring me Bon Jovi in a cowboy get-up!
I love you all. You are so special and what a difference you make in my life. You all should know that!...Mena...xo0 -
Sweet dreams, Mena....
0 -
And mena, we're all on the Group W bench with you. (You can get anything you want . . .")
0 -
Sleep well dear, Mena, we are on the watch.
Carrie, so happy Denise has found a surgeon she is more comfortable with.
Hugs to all ny sistahs................suzie0 -
Just checking on everyone. I see we gonna have a "hot" night with these fellows showing up. Maybe you youngins will be worn out by the time this senior comes on duty. I will be on late shift again - "hot flashes" seem to appear at bedtime. The night air is gonna feel goooooood.
0 -
Pulling my wagon into the circle.....
Prayers, peace and love for all of us. (And biscuits---somebody did say biscuits, right?)0 -
where IS rhymee???????
if it's a computer glitch again, i'll fedex her my old pc laptop.........NO JOKE!!!!!!
we can't possibly burn the midnight oil without her!
mena.......thanks for the "heads up"!0 -
I've wondered about rhymee too and also debfive.Carrie, thanks for updating us on Denise.
0 -
Just checking back in to see what's going on. Someone pass the s'more stuff! I'm in desperate need for some CHOCOLATE!!! I really enjoy these campouts! Dave Navarro is hot and so is Johnny Depp! Keanau Reeves ain't too bad either!
Marla0 -
-
Heres the chocolate

And a little Johnny to go with it !
hugs,
Carrie0 -

Ladies...I brought some "entertainment"! MY MY MY!0 -
Whoo hoo...thanks Carrie! The chocolate is delicious! So is Johnny! LOL
0 -
Ok ladies, doesn't sound like anyone is going to sleep tonight...how about some peach cobbler or maybe a bailey's and coffee? For all of you needing support tonight, can you feel the love wrapping arms around you?
Margaret0 -
Coming on for duty...
you all can keep Dave and Johnny
I'll take Bruce Springsteen!
Mena- GOOD LUCK TOMORROW GIRL!!!
DENISE! So glad you found a doc you like!!!
Rhymee? Where are you?! We know you need us! Come to the circle- Deb will hold her fire. Don't know if she can hold her moonshine but she can hold her fire!
Pay no attention to the strange noises you hear in the outhouse- it's just Dave- AGAIN.
I am ready to take my watch but want to grab some peach cobbler before Marla gives it all to Sam.0 -
I'll take a bailey's and coffee over here. I set down the shotgun and said a few prayers. I pray for peace to settle over all the weary and healing for the sick. I pray for comfort for all of us.
The sun just broke through a huge bank of the blackest clouds you can imagine...like a golden floodlight. I think tomorrow will be a sunny day.
Deb C.0 -
I'm with you NS and we can listen to Bruce sing-man,he can belt out that Born in the USA for us or anything else he chooses. And Carrie, would sure like to have some of those chocolates or Johnny Depp--second thought, both sounds good.
Of course that would be a Diet drink to go w/it,of course caffeine free if it's available..
Thinking of you Mena,Denise,Robin,Rhymeee and all the other special people tonight.Sleep well as your friends are here and special thoughts are being said for you.
-----------
Iris0 -
What a wonderful group of women you all are!
Little cats feet, Im 29 and LOVE sean connery! Whoo Hoo!0 -
I haven't been around much today. I needed to get away. Ya'll have fun partying tonite. I'm going to find a place to get some sleep. Good night.
Susan0 -
Sleep well, Susan.You deserve it.
Here's the owl to join night shift.I'll bein & out, because I'm still working around.
But I WILL b armed and riding myfaithful horse Lightning Foot aroun d the perimeter, guarding against the beast that creeps by darkness.
Wanna hear about Lightning Foot?
He is jet black, and has a white zigzag on right foreleg.
He is 60 years old and counting.Because he was my childhood fantasy horse when I was tiny.(Too small to know what kind of a horse he was!)We usd toride around with Hopalong, and Gene Autry a lot.In my dreams.
I could have a horse much more easily than I could have a gun.But to guard these women against this beast, I am armed to the teeth.Hey, I'd throw grenades, or firebombs, whateever is needed.HAAAATE the beast.
Hi Mena, Love.I'm glad you feel cared-for.We WILL be around until this fu**er backs off.You girls are doing your part,we'll do ours.
Gonna tak a few spins around the perimeter.Lightning Foot is more than fast, he is quiet.I have to make sure nothing is sneaking through the thickets.
WHY won't Rhymeee come here?0 -
Checkin' in, checkin' out the campfire and all of those around it. Keeping out a watchful eye for all of our sisters in need. If you hear any thing in them woods, check before shooting. The only thing we are out to get is the beast. With all the bc sisters and gorgeous men in attendance tonight. we must be careful.
0 -
I have put in a full day of watching, and praying. It's time to hit the bedroll. The fire will keep us all warm. Goodnight dear ladies.
Deb C.0 -
Thought I would relieve some of you gals. NS, Joan, Deb, see you made it here ahead of me, sorry I am late. Thanks for leaving some of that delicious chocolate for us late gals - I see the guys though are not in sight. Wonder which one will be frying the ham and eggs in the morning? Ready for a warm biscuit too.
The rain has slowed as was pretty heavy last night but is now just a sprinkling off and on. I figure heaven just had to release those tears that went with our prayers. I see a few stars now trying to give some light to the darkness. I look around and see all these wagons in the glow from the fire - they are from Alaska, NY, Cal.,Mo,PA,NC,GA, DC, Ohio, Wis.,more than I can count. All the wagons are different otherwise too, some are young; some older, all have traveled a long hard road; some seem a little more worn from a longer trip but all form a circle of love and friendship that only being "sisters" from BC can bring. There is warmth by the fire; many still aren't resting well and join the circle from time to time and then leave again. As the reflection of the fire plays across their faces I see eyes that know pain; set jaws that show strength; and arms wrapped around legs as if to give hugs to those in their thoughts. They make me proud to be here.
The fire burns, the circle keeps growing, we are here sisters; we are here.0 -
Hi Brenda,
We had some tears from the heavens too, just a few minutes ago.And here it is strangely active for 3AM.It is not as quiet as usual at this hour. But the crickets and cicadas are louder!
I'm wishing we hear from Robin tomorrow.I hope her new chemo is not too hard.I remember my first few nights and days after chemo I always felt pretty peppy and good, from all the drugs they gave me WITH the chemo.Taxotere I felt the BEST after chemo, from all the decadron.I did windows, got all my housework&laundry done.
I'm hoping to see Robin tomorrow-maybe at eggs and bacon time!
Meanwhile, Lord, I'm lifting her up for you to watch over.0 -
Hi Ladies,
While you are all sleeping, I'll pick up the watch over here. Sending healing thoughts and lots of love to all our sisters who need it today. Cold over here, so I have a huge fire going!!
Peacefull sleep to all of you....

Dear No Surrender...Thank you so much for including me...it means so much to me coming from you...I have looked forward to reading your gritty passionate posts for months now. And of course my humble thanks to all of you..was finally able to cry after a few weeks of Lexapro/haze/mania...feel so much like a human again...Now may I join in and get pissed and kick beast-butt and just keep all of us safe and warm and well...and now and then wish we can feel the simple joy of being carefree again...Love you all
0 -
I'm back. insomnia or 5 hours sleep is enough for the post-menopausal. Maybe a quick check in and back to bed. I think I caught some of Chemosabi's cold out here on the trail. Glad to see all is quiet on the front. Hopefully all sisters are resting peacefully.
0 -
Thought I'd find Rhymeee, up and lurking 'round these here parts, but I see she didn't post at all yesterday. Hope all is well.
0 -
Morning watch has arrived. My usual wake up time. We stand strong together. Enjoying my first cup of coffee here. That first cup always tastes great, especially when brewed over an open fire.
OMG - ladies beware. This cold I have is a nasty one and I have been coughing and sneezing into the computer. Hope you dont get it.
In about an hour, I'll be putting some bacon in the frying pan. Always nice to wake up to the smell of bacon.
To all my sisters who are in distress - we are here for you. We are gonna kick cancers butt.
Nicki0 -
Nicki- Too late picked up the cold a couple days ago. Must have been the coffee.
I'm up early this morning I'll start the biscuits and gravy. Oh, I forgot, I hate to cook. Maybe I'll go feed the critters.
lini0 -
Hey Lini, you feed the critters, I'll cook. Waffles, pancakes, eggs, homefries, corn beef hash, biscuits with gravy, strawberries, blueberries and MOONSHINE!
Can you tell I'm hungry!!!
Hope all our circled girls slept well last night.
Hugs all
Vickie0 -
Ok I'm back on watch. Let our sisters sleep and heal. Just finished breakfast and rounding the camp with my trusty dog Ted, keeping our eyes and ears open. I'll be ready for our special thoughts tonight.
0 -
I can join in on the cooking and add some sausage to that along with some good homemade maple syrup. Should have known being from the south I would have to add something that is fried.
Heres hoping all is well with everyone as we keep this peaceful watch going. I have to do the sit down watch or ride my donkey because the mets that has recently started in my leg (pelvic area) cuts down on my walking but my faithful donkey Molly will get me where I need to go. She said we might need to add some watermelon to our breakfast and she can take care of all the rinds we don't eat.
Hope everyone has a good day and I will be on watch for a bit now as soon as breakfast is finished. Amy0 -
Amy, I'll take Molly with us on our walk so you can rest also. I think he and Ted will be friends.
0 -
I'm here to watch for a little while before going to work and I'll drop back in sometime during the day. Watermelon is a good idea - I'll have some in Diane's honor. Rest well those that have been up all night and I'll see the rest soon.
Margaret0 -
Good morning ladies! Im ready for my morning watch. Ive decided to take a little bit different tact today. Im leaving the shotgun by the fire and taking my sense of humor on my walk instead. Ive heard the beast cant stand laughter, so humor is my weapon of choice today.
Laugh, Love, LIVE!
we can do this ladies!!
Deb C.0 -
Lots and lots and lots and lots of laughter!!!!!
0 -
Lots of smiles, love and laughter ... if that keeps the beast away we'll knock him down for sure....
I'm ready for that breakfast you guys are cooking ... Yumm... Yumm... Yumm....
Lots of positive energy, love, healing thoughts for our sisters in need...
Doreen0 -
Ok I'm here for the afternoon watch. Got my old fighting spirit back.
Brenda are you saying I have an old wagon?? LOL too funny. I like your writing.
Joan, sounds like you got a real nice horse there.
Miss Robin, miss rhymeee
Ya'll have a great day. We are all protecting and comforting each other.
Susan0 -
I'll watch with you, Susan. We'll keep the camp safe from the Beast for sure.
0 -
I'm here for the afternoon watch.
Had to leave the circle last night, and go to a James Taylor concert. When he sang "Sweet Baby James" (his "cowboy lullabye"), I dedicated it to all of my "Circle Sisters." I thought of you all here, in the wagon circle, and said a little prayer...for ALL of us.
I'm sure James didn't mind.0 -
So many sisters struggling! I will bring the coffee and pie for after dinner, someone needs to take the later watch, since I am on the west coast I will still be up when many are ready to bed down for the night I will help with that, maybe someone can take over at 2:30? We need a few dogs to join the circle to help warn us of the "critters" sneaking up on our fire! I would bring mine but he is a real chicken!
0 -
I'll join you Cheryl. I'll bring my Pennydog. She's the best. She helped get rid of my "critter". I know she did.
lini0 -
I will bring my two German Shepherds...Maggie and Tia...NOTHING chicken about the two of them, they will keep everyone safe. Gotta watch Tia though...she thinks she's a lap dog and will play fetch endlessly.
0 -
I have Ginger on patrol with me. She seems to have forgotten that she is a fluffy little cocker spaniel. Last month she chased a brown bear out of our yard!!! She is also especially good at cuddling with anyone who needs a little extra lovin.

Sending lots of positive thoughts to everyone as we keep a close watch out for this nasty beast.
Amy0 -
I was dragged kicking and screaming into the new Cabellas outdoor store that opened BUT I did find premade smore's, all packed up nicely and ready to warm over the fire. Chocolate, marshmallows and good friends, can it get any better? Jenene

Such a rough time for so many.
I was telling my dear friend how much praying I need to do for the breast cancer org ladies on the boards. He said you all need it more than him and to skip my prayer for him. I just told him there are enough prayers for everyone. So I have been praying alot for everyone.

Welcome Michelle...the more wagons the better. If love, positive vibes, hugs and prayers could cure cancer these ladies here would have killed the beast long ago. All these ladies are wonderful and I too wish I had found this place through chemo...it was a very lonely time for me.
Prayers to you too.
Hugs

So with all this circling and fireside chatting, I got a bit sentimental today and pulled out my old favorite classic album by Carole King, Tapestry. It's got some real soulful songs that I think we'd all enjoy young and old, alike. May I bring my boombox and play it for you ladies this evening??
I Feel The Earth Move
So Far Away
It's Too Late
Home Again
Beautiful
Way Over Yonder
You've Got A Friend
Where You Lead
Will You Love Me Tomorrow?
Smackwater Jack
Tapestry
(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman0 -
Sounds perfect Lini...I played that album until it wore out...
0 -
Me too, had to buy the CD. It is my number one favorite album of all time.
0 -
Love it - Love it - Love it
I got the "Living Room Tour" Live on my iPod and I gave the CD to my best friend for Christmas. We grew up belting out those songs.
"When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand..."
We are all here singing with Carole and if you can't carry a note, don't worry, my off key loudness will drown it out.0 -
Oh my Lini, I know every word to every one of those songs. Loved it then and still do. I'll see you around the campfire a little later.
Margaret0 -
Wow ladies,
I was just posting that cause it was a picture of my dog. the picture of me is from my last day of chemo. I had on a wig and was celebrating. You can tell from the ultra red steriod face. Thanks for the compliments though. I've been dying my hair. maybe i should let it grow out!!!
Lini Tapestry is one of my favorite albums.
Shel, thanks for the update on Rhymeee. Tell her we are sending hugs and bwwaahaahaaas.
Sally, a hot tub. I could really use that. A long soak to get rid of the trail dust. We'd have to change the water when I'm through though.
I feel so much better since we heard from Robin. I'd like to hear from some of the others too.
Susan0 -
Ok girls getting time to gather round and think good thoughts for our sisters. 20 minutes to go.
0 -
Susan- I thought that your complexion looked beautiful. I was quite jealous, but not enough to undergo chemo for it. You look sun-kissed, not chemo-faced.
Turning up the volume on the box. Ready for a sing-a-long?? What should we do first??0 -
Oh, thanks for the reminder tflow. I had forgotten. Thank you, thank you. Let's save the sing-a-long for after.
lini0 -
Oh Carrie...thank you!!!! I may just be here all night looking at him. Tflow...your husband looks like him...oh you lucky girl.
Susan...you look wonderful!
So many cowboys
So little rope!
With all the cowboys here I'm thinking the first song should be "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy"...LOL.0 -
Wagon Circle Song
With sisters like you, pals good and true
I'd like to leave the world behind
and go out and find
A place that's known to God and us alone
Just a spot we could call our own
We'll find perfect peace
Where joys never cease
Somewhere beneath the stary skies
We'll build a sweet little nest
Somewhere out in the west
And let the rest of the world go by
With sisters like you...
We'll let the rest of the world go by
Reporting for duty...0 -
Vickie, yea maybe 25 years ago....
0 -
you're late young lady!!!!!!!
0 -
NS...what a wonderful idea!!! One big circle of sisters living in peace and joy. You say it so well.
Hugs
Vickie0 -
Okay, start singing Lini....
0 -
I know I am late! I ran into Kevin Costner in the woods! I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT!!!
Vickie, that song is actually from 1920! I changed it around a bit for us.0 -
Make new friends and keep the old
One is silver the other gold!!!0 -
going to curl up in my sleeping bag now...I'll be up early to make the coffee.
Good night, you moonlight ladies!0 -
If Kevin Costner was in the woods...does that make him a "lurker"???
0 -
HEY NS...no wonder he was late...I won't hold you responsible...but for the rest of the night he is MINE!
0 -
He's lurking with me now...no peeking over here!
0 -
When you're down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend
If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don't you let them
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend0 -
Sometimes I wonder if I'm ever gonna make it home again
It's so far and so sight
I really need someone to talk to, and nobody else
Knows how to comfort me tonight
Snow is cold, rain is wet
Chills my soul right to the marrow
I won't be happy till I see you alone again
Till I'm home again and feeling right0 -
all right but make sure you've got a blanket or something..that ground gets cold at night!!
0 -
I'm taking out my sleeping bag. I have treatment tomorrow and need my sleep. Night littl cowgirls....happy dreams

Michelle from Iowa. Welcome! You are not too late. We have a lot more fun and caring and sharing to do.
Chemosabi, I finally "got" your name. Very nice.
Newvickie, I love the purple/gold picture. If we are camping out that is definitely the place todo it.
Susan0 -
Susan...I just couldn't help myself.
Lini...You've Got a Friend...perfect song for our circle...how do you do it!
Hey Sherry...don't need a blanket...he's plenty warm enough for me but someone tracked in sand and now it's in my thongs!
I'm so punchy tonight and haven't even had a drink of that moonshine thats floating around here somewhere.0 -
Here's one for Deb:
Smackwater Jack he bought a shotgun
Cause he was in the mood of a little confrontation
He just let it all hang loose
He didn't think about the noose
He couldn't take no more abuse,
So he shot down the congregation
You can't talk to a man with a shotgun in his hand
Big Jim the Chief stood for law and order
He called for the guard to come and surround the border
Now fron his bulldog mouth
As he led the posse south
Came the cry "We got to ride to clean up the street
For our wives and our daughters!"
You can't talk to a man when he don't want to understand
The account of the capture wasn't in the papers
But you know, they hanged ole Smack right then (instead of later)
You know, the people where quite pleased
Cause the outlaw had been sized
And on the whole, it was a very good year for the undertaker
You can't talk to a man with a shotgun in his hand0 -
what's left of him....

Hope he had his Wheaties!0 -
Okay, here's one for all of you that have one of those cowboy hunks under your blankie:
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around
Oh baby When I see your face
Mellow as the month of May
Oh darling I cant stand it
When you look at me that way
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around
Oh darling When you're near me
And you tenderly call my name
I know that, My emotions
Are something I just cant tame
Ive just got to have you baby
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I just lose control
Down to my very soul
I get hot and cold all over
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
tumbling down, tumbling down...0 -
Riding in with Fabio....I can't believe it's not butter

Standing guard with my sisters.
Tina0 -
Wanting you the way I do
I only want to be with you
And I would go to the ends of the earth
Cause, darling, to me that's you're worth
Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead
If you're out on the road
Feeling lonely, and so cold
All you have to do is call my name
And I'll be there in the next train
Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead
I always wanted a real home with flowers on the window sill
But if you want to live in New York city, honey, you know I will
I never thought I could get satisfaction from just one man
But if anyone can keep me happy, you're the one who can
And where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead0 -
Okay, sand in the thong...that's gotta hurt Vickie...

The fire burns, the circle keeps growing, we are here sisters; we are here.
You made me cry again !
hugs,
Carrie
How BEAUTIFUL IS THAT??!
I am crying too Carrie!0 -
not even noticing now...
0 -
Okay, last one for the night. We are all Natural Women, well except for some of our boobs, oh and don't forget all that chemo and other good stuff in us, but other than that:
WE ARE AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!!! All natural, or not.
Looking out on the morning rain
I used to feel uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But your love was the key to my peace of mind
Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman
When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Till your kiss helped me name it
Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for
Cause if I make you happy I don't need to do more
You make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman
Oh baby, what you've done to me
You make me feel so good inside
And I just want to be close to you
You make me feel so alive
You make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman0 -
NS...I cried over that one at work today...so beautifully said, made me feel as if we were all truly there.
Just want to say that you are all wonderful "sisters". I am thrilled to "know" you all. Praying tonight for all our ladies inside our circle of wagons. May they all feel the love, protection and good wishes.0 -
Thank you Lini for the concert. On another thread, we are s'pose to say he we look like (famous, I guess) Well, when I had hair, I WAS Carole KIng!
0 -
That's cool, Christine. There's a picture on the picture thread of, I think, Denisa sitting on a bench that reminds of Carole King, too.
0 -
Oh yea - I have told her before, how I was jealous of her long crazy, curly hair. I sure miss mine and I don't sing the same without it. lol
0 -
Night ladies...taking my Kevin fantasy and hittin the hay. Keep the campfire burning, my dogs are up and patrolling the parimeters and I'll check in in the morning.
Hugs all around
Vickie0 -
'nite Vickie..pleasant dreams!!

Lini, thanks for the great songs
newvicki, i won't even ask how you got sand in your thong.
0 -
Oh Susan, that is beautiful!!! You are so talented and it's absolutely perfect!!!
0 -
how the heck do you guys figure out that graphic stuff?????
i better put ewan to bed and go study!0 -
Whatcha studying? Ewan or are you a schoolgirl??
My husband just suggested I go back to school and get my masters, but I don't want to strain my brain. I just want some bonehead job with some spare med. insurance. Want some backup. Nothing else. I can't picture myself reading texts and writing papers again. Those nightmares of showing up for a final you didn't know about will start all over again. Hey, who needs it when I've got campfires, marshmallows, and handsome cowboys??!!0 -
Looks like I've missed alot tonight. but I'd like to pass on a blessing. My baby brother is an editor for a local paper and writes a weekly column. This is the last paragraph and pertains to all of us.
"Ask anyone in a crowd and you can be sure that everyone knows someone, a family member or friend, who has battled cancer. It is all too prevalent in our community. So to those people, such as my sister, who are courageously living each day as normally as possible, God bless you. And thank you for being examples for us lesser folks who grumble and complain over the smnallest, insignificant things."0 -
Well, more insomnia for me, so I'll take the night shift. Maybe one of those handome cowboys will help me get sand in my thong, too!
Praying hard for all of us tonight!
Sue0 -
My goodness ladies! I'm gone on patrol for 4 hours and there were 122 posts here! You were busy
Lini, I loved the shotgun poem...too funny. The sad truth is that I am getting good with the shotgun. we have had so darn many bears in the area this summer that for awhile I carried it everywhere, even to the chicken coop. Thank God I have not had to shoot at any bears, just targets this summer.
Deb C.0 -
Shotgun Deb- That's "Smackwater Jack" by Carole King from my fav. album.
0 -
I'm here to keep watch for awhile. You ladies that do the graphics - I have to do that sometime.
Margaret0 -
Time to bank the campfire and pull out the bedroll as we keep watch over our sisters.
Now all I have to do is find a way to go to sleep with Carol King running around inside my head!0 -
sorry I was gone so long - but found and stacked up enough firewood to last for as long a seige is nesscessary. whew! good thing Libby helped me haul it into camp or i would still be out there.

even she is pooped! let her rest a little bit and all 150 pounds of her will patrol the camp or just cuddle with anyone needing some tlc.
gee! it took me awhile to catch up reading new posts.
brenda, loved what you wrote - so poignant. touched my heart.
as for provisions - looks like that is covered - from beds, food and drink - to close encounter companionship.
the link, posted by carrie, http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/enter.cfm
was wonderful. I went to it and lit a candle and dedicated it to our sisters here. if you click on that link, and then click on (search) button(top left - then type "trix" in "search" box and BO.O in " group search" box, you will find message.
in my thoughts and prayers ladies,
Niki

omg?????? is that your dog?????
i'm in love!0 -
I hope there is room for another wagon round the fire. Brought some wood to keep the flames going.
It's a cloudless nite tonite and up above a zillion stars. The milkyway seems to get more crowded the longer I look.
The big dipper is easy to spot - but can't find my way around Draco. Anybody good with astronomy? No moon to guide my way and can't tell if the bright thing in the south is a planet or big star.
Brought some smores and the beer - Rickards Red is a favorite. I'll make a red eye for any one who would like to try one. For the rest - peppermint tea - stopped along the trail and picked some on my way here.
The sage is in full bloom and the bundle I picked is sending warm aromas over the coals.
BTW - no one has applauded the cyotes. They are singing up a storm. And as they stop the quiet gurgle of the river finding its way over, round the boulders - glip, glop, gurgle, plop. And oh, the air so fresh and brisk.
Wrap my blankie around me and join in the singing.
Jeannette0 -
Lini-
Now I have to go pull out my old Carole King albums...yes, albums
and see if I can find the song
I don't remember that one....
Deb C.0 -
Jeanette, Thank you for coming and bringing all these treats!
What is a red eye???
The sage DOES smell wonderful...
But I don't think that is coyotes we are hearing... there is a lot of activity in the woods tonight...
0 -
redeye=beer and tomato juice.........in my neck of the woods it's beer and clamato juice......yummmmmmy!
0 -
I just like to add beer to my Bloody Mary, when it's half gone...Oh wrong thread, I'm lost too.
0 -
bwaaaaaaaahaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa!
0 -
I hope all that activity is not bears - it's berry time and they are porking up but we don't need then round the old fire.
We'll have to sing real loud.0 -
psst! Jeannette! SHHHH.. don't tell anyone...
over there by the birches, Vickie and Kevin...
See that chestnut tree? Fabio and Tina....
I lost track of who all went off with the dancing cowboys...
But pass me some more of the smores...0 -
Alaina, that was beautiful. THANK YOU!
0 -
Don't worry, I have Ginger, the brown bear chasing cocker spaniel with me
She will keep all the bruins at bay. She and I are about ready to wrap up in our sleeping bag by the fire. One more round of prayers for all my sisters and we are off to sleep. Coyotes sing the best bed-time songs.
Peace my friends
Deb C.0 -
I'm signing in for the late hours. The mood is much lighter tonight. I have been here for awhile listening to the laughter and the campfire songs. Food has been good too. I have been looking for Kevin Costner but NS just said Vicki and Kevin were by the birches - heck, I figured I could at least get a hug!!!! Wo
Trixiegram gathered the wood and Silvergirl has banked the fire. Bed rolls are being opened. Wow the heavens are so bright tonight - I don't think I have ever seen such bright stars - I wonder. Seems last night I dozed off for a bit (sorry about that) and I heard singing and the voices were the most beautiful ones I have ever heard and then I saw angels. I couldn't decide for a moment if I was dreaming or if it was real. They hovered over each wagon for a moment as if giving it a blessing and then they came and stood holding hands around the fire - they were to numerous to count. They looked like they were praying and then they were gone. I just know they were our angel sisters coming to to encourage us to carry on, not to give up and to bless our endeavors.
Since then there has been this song that has played over and over in my mind. It goes like this:
"When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone there to come and comfort me.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand.
And ain't it kind of unny that at the dark end of the road
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope.
Oh, I believe in angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love.
They were so many faces, show up in the strangest places
To guide us with their mercy, in our time of need.
Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love"
BC angels, we won't disappoint you. You give us strength and courage. You have show us how to live, taught us how to give - you are not forgotten.
Sisters, sleep well. We are here, the circle keeps growing.
We now have angels among us - they are the bright stars in the heavens that breaks the darkness of the night.0 -
I will sleep well.
Denise0 -
Dear Ones.
Late, even for me,tonight.
F2F socializing(so peculiar, when I'd really rather be here!)Try explaining THAT to company!
May all be well.0 -
Sorry I'm late for my shift tonight, well actually I've been here for a couple of hours now, reading all of the beautiful posts written today, and I didn't officially sign on for my shift, but I'm here and will be 'til dawn or a little later. I hope that all of our sisters in the middle of our circle are resting comfortably tonight and that their day will be brighter tomorrow.
Love and Hugs,
JoJo0 -
Niki, why do we need horses when we have Libby? My Ted would just love to guard with her!
Good morning cowgirls, Off to work and then treatment, but will be back to patrol. Have a calm and happier day. xoxo0 -
I am looking at the sun coming up over the horizon. It is making the sky a beautiful pink. I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, and thinking about all of my friends. So I magically gave everyone some dancing ability. I am picturing us standing in a circle around our wagons. Then, hit the music - we are doing Riverdance - the Irish way to chase all the bad cancer vibes away.
Its a lovely site. Pretty soon, I will have to catch me breath. From all the danicing. Take a shower and go to work.
We stand tall and strong together.
Nicki0 -
I'm at work checking in, so look up to the ridge and I'll be sitting there. Not allowed to bring a gun to work, so I'll just whistle if danger approaches. Just look up and wave from time to time. Hugs
0 -
I'm at work and will check in as the day goes on. Have a rad appointment later...my skin is beginning to worry me a bit.
Sending Kevin on to you ladies tonight...whew...to much for me, I'm exhausted...oh wait...that's just radiation exhaustion.
Hope all our circled ladies had a sweet, peaceful, restful night. Any updates?
No guns allowed here either but I do have cinnamon rolls!
Hugs
Vickie0 -
Quarter of six here and have my first cup o' joe with me. I see that it was a fairly calm night, well 'cept for Kev and Vickie. Thank you ladies for them theres beautiful words. I'll check back later and take a shift. I'm working today. Save some grub for me, I usually come home famished.
lini0 -

The rain is ending, the sun is rising and sending you all a beautiful rainbow to start your day.0 -
I fell asleep on my watch - oh darn. But the cattle rustlers didn't get in. So ow we can do the daytime camp tending.
I'm off to gather wood and will take a posse (me and the DH and the dog) to the drywood river looking for good stuff. LOts of lava rocks there - will bring some back to put around the fire and keep it safe. The posse will be gone for a few days - so we will be making a little fire to keep us warm at nite and will think of the big wagon circle as we sit where the mountains meet the prairies - so close you can reach out and touch the peaks.
As for those stars - reminds me of a song I used to sing for the kids - compliments of Anne Murray
Stars are the windows of heaven,
where angels peak through
Up in the sky, they keep and eye
on kids like me and you
They cry each time we are naughty
Their tear drops are the rain
But when we're good they are smiling
And will shine again
Stars are the windows of heaven
Where angels peak though.
Adios mi amigos, Hasta manna
Jeannette0 -
Newvickie - your post reminds me of this peaceful song I have used as a lullaby.
Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it,
And look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
All of us under its spell,
We know that it's probably magic...
... Have you been half asleep? And have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
... Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm s'posed to be...
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.0 -

Okay guys, I'm heading to the river to take a bath and (sniff)I strongly urge the rest of you to do the same! (Will someone come and watch for snakes)
P.S. Carrie, smearing buffalo chips on you does not keep the mosquitoes away! Stop it!
Don't cry Vickie, you'll make me cry!
Denise0 -
Just havin one of those days...think I'll take Kevin and go get a shower...no one knows if your crying in the shower and who could cry with Kevin Costner!

Oh...we'll be showering here...be back later.0 -
You are all welcome to use my shower after I'm done.
Uh Carrie...maybe you should go first...bufalo chips...ewww.
Kevin says he'll keep the snakes away but ya gotta watch him...he'll probably be peeking.0 -
Naniam---
Your post from this morning brought tears to my eyes. There are angels on high watching over all of us but I think we have all become angels on earth for each other. Only my sisters here understand what we are all experiencing and feeling.
My first "annual" one year onc visit will happen---with all of it's attendant crazy making tests, this coming Monday. I know everyone in the circle will be walking into that building with me---we will look like the Verizon wireless commercial! Not to mention all of those wagons out in front clogging up the parking lot!
Hope everyone is having a good day herdin' them doggies and looking for Kevin in the bushes. Personally, I still have a "thing" for Sean Connery but still haven't forgiven him for saying it's OK to hit a woman about a thousand years ago.

Just in from my 1st herceptin/zamata treatment after being diagnosed with mets. I will join in on the watch now but with this benadryl just shake me if you see me sleeping. Amy

Carrie, you and Denise remind me of that old Bing Crosy/Danny Kaye movie with Rosemary Clooney and whatever the other woman's name was (Vera something?) and of course can I think of the name of the movie? Holiday Inn? White Christmas? One of those...
and the two sisters are singing their nightclub act with their feather fans.. "sisters, sisters, such devoted sisters..."

LOL...it was White Christmas (one of my favorite all-times) and it was Rosemary Clooney & Vera-Ellen...(or Carrie & Denise?!)
Sisters
Sisters, sisters,
There were never such devoted sisters.
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir.
I'm here to keep my eye on her.
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing.
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome,
She wore the dress and I stayed home.
All kinds of weather, we stick together,
the same in the rain or sun.
Two different faces, but in tight places
we think and we act as one. Uh-huh!
Those who've seen us
know that not a thing can come between us.
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can.
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister,
and Lord help the sister that comes between me and my man.
All kinds of weather, we stick together,
the same in the rain or sun.
Two different faces, but in tight places
we think and we act as one. Uh-huh!
Those who've seen us
know that not a thing could come between us.
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can.
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister,
and Lord help the sister who comes between me and my man.
Sisters!
Sisters!
Sisters!
Don't you come
between me and my man!
Hugs

woo hoo, way to go Peggy!!!! I wanted to call her Vera Lynn but that's just a little before that girl's time!!
You are a treasure trove of trivia...you remind me so much of my sister who could recall just about anything...
I think that picture is totally Carrie & Denise!!!0 -
I wish my sister and I were that close. Please treasure what you have. I'm just riding thru on my way to town for some entertainment tonight. Going to the Eagles-Steelers game so I'll pickup supplies at the general store. Need more coffee and moonshine??

Hey I was working today so I'll take one of the evening shifts.
Brenda, another beautiful post.
Niki , Libby is beautiful.
Jeanette, thanks for bringing the smores. My fav.
Joan, you really have to stop your face to face socializing.
Susan0 -
OMG my favorite movie! How do you find these things Peggy?!
I am just checking in before my shift later tonight.
I brought some things for us since it is going to get a little cooler tonight...
thick lambskin to lay our sleeping bags on
fleece feety pajamas
I made my famous chili (please no one invite Dave tonight)
I baked a whole brie with currants and chutney is getting all melty and ready to eat
Fresh corn to roast on the fire with lots of butter when it is ready
Hot rolls with melted butter
Apple brown betty baked in the coals of the campfire
And I brought a book where we can each take a page and describe or draw our wagons, and what we carry in them, and write down why we are encircling the sisters we love, so this moment in time will be with us forever.
I will be back later for my shift- gotta get back to the chili! It's almost ready!.0 -
Peggy: Once again - you made me laugh so hard I spit my wine on the computer!!
And the sisters song, its so great. I have 3 SIL and they include me - we stand side by side and sing that song.
So I'm back at the site, enjoying what is left of my wine. Reading all of these posts has been very emotional. So many nice, heartwarming things.
And NS: I cant wait for the grub! Hurry please.
Deb: The dog chasing cocker spaniel - cracks me up. I'll be back for sure if not later, in the early morning watch.
Nicki0 -
Vickie, sometimes smash and burn is the only way to get things out of your system. Enjoy it! You can cry too. If you keep your mouth closed really tight, you could scream a little too, and nobody would hear.
Gentle hugs to you. Tomorrow will be brighter.0 -
Sorry I've been gone, sisters. I was working on a project for Sunday and couldn't get time off to post. But I'm back now, and I'll feed the critters tonight and bring in some more firewood. Everybody got a slicker? Might rain a little, too.

My wagon is green with a blue silk top, silver wheels and velvet seat. Painted with bright stars so all our sisters can pick a star when it's cloudy and make a wish. All wishes made on my wagons stars would come true. A "Welcome Sisters" sign facing our campfire on one side a "Beware Cancer Beast" sign on the other. Full kitchen inside to cook anything you desire, comfy mattress and down comforters...lots of pillows to prop up our uncomfortable sister and a stereo that will play whatever you wish to hear...even Lini! Stuffed animals and real ones to cuddle too. Candlelight, moonshine and chocolate. Wind chimes to twinkle us to sleep.
Encircling our sisters to keep them safe, to make them feel our love, to let them know that they are never alone, to put out more positive energy than the world has ever seen. Encircling them to let them know that if love and caring could kill this beast it would be long gone by morning light.
Now...whose got Kevin...bet he's at the waterfall!! Men!!
xxxooo
Vickie0 -
oh yeah...did my smashing and burning...feeling rather evil but got the blues out of my system for now. My poor dogs think I've gone over the edge but my son thought it was pretty hilarious...I told him I was beating up cancer so I could get even.
Thanks all who lifted me up today.
Hugs
Vickie0 -
You're too funny Vickie. I was feeling all calm and mellow from your first post. Then "boom", I'm picturing you smashing and burning and all hyped up. I hate those blues. They sure have a way of creeping up on you. I'm glad that you're feeling better, now that you took me from Mellow Yellow to Calamity Jane all in a minute. LOL!!!

YOUR SONG
(Ewan McGregor)
My gift is my song and this ones for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if there green or there blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
And you can tell everybody that this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
Hope you dont mind
I hope you dont mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world0 -
These lyrics need editing. Wonder who types these? there green or there blue?? they're

And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin...I ....love....you.
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.
I think this is our world...the one we have created here. What a wonderful circle we have.0 -
My wagon has a big, feather filled mattress (wow, I'm absessed with mattresses!?), all my cast iron skillets that were given to me by my grandma, some harvested seeds from my past (and current) experiences to be planted along my way, a water basin and pitcher that I made with my mom. A doll made from corn husks 'cause my cat likes to chew on it! A very worn Bible.
The horses are a bit sway backed but we understand each other without a word being spoken. The wood came from a dear neighbor's barn that unfortuneatly was hit by lightning and partially burned. Don't fret though, the new barn raisin' was a quite a social event!
I keep the Bud Light iced down in the Hope Chest! LOL (couldn't resist)
Love this thread, Love you guys!

Coors! What a wonderful idea. It's Friday night and the sun's over the yardarm. I'm buyin' and who's flyin'?
0 -
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.
0 -
I'll fly. Hadn't had a coors in a long time.
0 -
Sorry, girls for the noise, had to start the genertor so I could run the fan, serious hot flash.
0 -
Hmm..where's that "food" we were promised awhile ago...the chili...can't have Coors without something to eat..and the brie with the currants and chutney which would be perfect with my wine...then there's dessert, though I've cut out sugar, I really could use some brown betty...hellloooooo NS, where is the Julia Child of this round-up?!?!

0 -
And if that didn't git her attention, maybe this will...
0 -

Found this bear in the woods while searching for Kevin (who I think is with NS...scared him off with my smash and burn day). Sending him around so you all can have a hug (THE BEAR NOT KEVIN).0 -
OH MY GOSH...I'm coming to your wagon Alaina!
Awwww, I'm not scared of that bear.0 -
Thanks for the bear hugs...I'd take a hug from Kevin too...but if he's off in the woods with NS, THAT explains why there's no food on the table...

Lighting a match for the campfire, to keep our sisters warm through the night...0 -
I don't know about her but since the two of you are just so darn sweet you can hug Kevin all you want...I still have a fire in the back yard, could go whip up some s'mores.
Hearing thunder coming down the valley...may have to sign off soon...we get some pretty nasty lightning here when it storms.0 -
Run for cover then if the storms are coming...we'll hold things up here for you...including Kevin...

0 -
And just what part of Kevin are you planning on holding up...sorry, couldn't resist.
0 -
ROFLMAO....you naughty girl you....I was thinking of his hand, but hey....I'm game...

Since this is Friday, and Beasts like to haunt us on the weekends, I have brought up some reinforcements for the next couple of days. This is a specialist, as it were.....

Relax, sisters. You are safe for the weekend.0 -
Are we the only two here? Is everyone sleeping? The sisters have all gone AWOL!! Lost in the woods?
0 -
It's Friday night. We're over at the square dance. I was gonna say Hoe-down, but thought everyone might take it wrong since we've had so many visitors of the other sex-type, you know.

Good one Lini...ok...it's storming pretty good here now so I'm going to have to sign off and shut down. Darn lightning anyway!! I was going to post a picture of my German Shepherd Tia to keep you safe but can't get Photobucket to work again and it looks like fancy2 has everyone covered.
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!

I'll take the early shift before grocery shopping in the morning.0 -
Ok, I'm still here. Can someone pass me a beer or a smore.. or..

My wagon is covered with a quilt made by my grandma with love
who was taken by cancer her love covers all that enter.
I have plenty of chillo pillows and hand held fans for those
nasty flashes. and warm compresses for those achey arimedex bones.
There are some nice down filled comfortors over there in the corner
for any one tired from treatment today, rest sweet sisters.
I'll get you a nice drink what ever you want, a ear to listen a hand to hold.
I'm here because I have been on this Journey too , but from the outside
looking in. Feeling scared, helpless and angry at this horrible beast, trying
to watch dilegently that it does'nt come for me too ! I hope to give a
word of comfort to one of your loved ones that might happen to come
searching for answers and consumed with fear just like I was.
I bought with me my most cuddly dog her name is dreamer
and her fur is so soft and she will snuggle her back against you
or let you sleep with her holding her in a hug...

Is this where everyone has gone????
Where are the chaparones?

I knew you were all at the Hoe-down at Ley Hill
0 -
I'm going hiking tomorrow - the scenery is just too beautiful to look at from a distance. Anyone going with me?
0 -
The hills are alive with the sound of music!
Hey! Am I the only one here now? How come I always miss the fun?
WTC?
Marla0 -
Hey lini57...it seems to be just you & me...
0 -
Here's "bubba" the redneck guard dog!
Don't know about you gals, but bubba makes me feel safe & secure!!! LOL
0 -
HOLY COW!!! The wildlife is possessed!!!

In case you guys haven't guessed, I'm entertaining myself, since I'm the only one here. Hope when you ladies wake up or come back from Ley Hill that you appreciate my boredom!!!
Marla0 -
0 -
No, I'm here too. Sean Connery is just too old for me so I'll just stay by the fire with you guys.
My wagon is burnished silver (of course it is---silvergirl, get it?) and the top is the most beautiful shade of creamy silk and studded with crystals for peace on our journey. It's pulled by four matched white Arabians with burnished silver tack for the slow days and Harley Hogs for when we want to make time! Inside there is a fireplace for warmth, featherbeds and down pillows for comfort, your favorite music for relaxation and, best of all, friends for companionship and understanding on our journey. There is also a magical pantry that always has exactly what your tastebuds are hankering for but with NO calories! (Well, this IS a fantasy, isn't it?)
The wagon is always guarded from the beast and kept tidy by the US Olympic Water Polo team. If you don't recall them let me tell you I have FINE guards and housekeepers! Who needs Sean anyway!
Jean0 -
I'm here! everybody's eating!!
Marla go down and get yourself some chili!!!
I will play with all your beautiful dogs...
Um- but I am staying AWAY from those cows with the devil eyes!
I passed DAVE in the woods, he was looking for shel- i told him to go all the way to the lake. I really HAVE to keep him away from the chili!
I gotta park my wagon and water the horses... be back in a minute or two....0 -
You just don't know what that chili will do to me! So, I brought the Beano for anyone else who feels the need after enjoying some of NS chili!!!
0 -

OKAY...WHO'S GUILTY? I knew some of you were having more fun than me!!!0 -
Hey...I'm making chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast. YUMMY!
The chili is tasty NS...0 -
HEY!!! Anyone felt like this lately?
0 -
I just spent an hour sitting in the recliner holding a feather duster and 3 newly hatched chicks! The girls forgot to collect the eggs from a hen who wanted to go set she pecked so the girls didnt want to check under her. By the time I figured out what was going on she was sitting on eggs that were halfway to hatching! So here we are, almost to September with babies hatching. Guess who will be living in the heated garage for awhile. ANYWAY, the mama was being mean to the babies, so we will be raising them by hand. SO that is how I found myself sitting in the sun singing hush little baby, dont say a word, to 3 still wet, just hatched chicks.
Since the peeping will most likely have me up half the night I might as well sit with you ladies and have some chili .pass that beeno 
Deb C.0 -
Okay...who brought this nasty stuff??? I ain't tryin it!

HOLY CRAP....I've been REPLACED!!!!! ROFL!

Peggy0 -
Okay, Marla whatcha put in that moonshine tonight? You'z whacked!!
0 -
Never replaced, Peggy. You are an original.
0 -
Which came first????
0 -
Dang! It's 'bout time you gals showed up! I was way too lonely & bored! Peggy - had to resort to looking for funnies by my lonesome. Glad to have some company. Although, I am about sacked out! Can someone else keep watch for a while, if I turn in?
0 -
Brrrrr, it's cold outside; been collecting wood to put on the fire. NS, I'm ready for some of that chili, I made some cornbread. Hot chocolate sounds good tonight too.
Margaret0 -
The stars are really beautiful, and not much moon light...

My wagon is covered in a quilt from my great grandmother's house. It is torn in some spots but the sun shines through them. I have radar and anti ballistic missle system next to the cast iron skillets and the cuisinart.
My Red Ryder is locked and loaded. And I have a place for a constant feed into the NIH and ASCO so I can be the first to tell my sisters about the newest things that will keep them safe and with us for a long, long time.
I have a special seat just for Ned. He travels with us always... never know whose wagon he will slip into and suprise with a blessed result....
I have two horses who have been with me forever and I have my sister's horse Phantom for me to ride ahead and scout new campgrounds.
I also have my trusty guide... he watches out for me and keeps the vermin low and is warm in my sleeping bag... he can spot an intruder from a mile away so beware beast!
0 -
Yeah...they're pretty alright...will be nice to sleep under tonight! Glad the storm has passed!
0 -
My, My NS - sleep well, my friend. I'm outta here! Nighty night,
sleep tight -
don't let the bed bugs bite...
if they do...BITE THEM BACK!
SWEET DREAMS SISTERS!!!
Marla0 -
And let's not forget, I brought my own music...
0 -
Wow! Glad I finished the chores so I could enjoy the singing around the fire! Wonder if Bruce likes s'mores?
-------
Iris0 -
Oh yes! Bruce LOVES smores!!!
0 -
Great because he can sing the oldies to me! Love them--like Allentown and Born in the USA. Maybe he will even have the E Street Band do some sing alongs....
--------
Iris0 -
If he brings Clarence I will die happy!
0 -
Fine by me--bring on lots of friends because the grub is good and the company is fine. It won't be "chili" long if we have a nice, toasty fire going!
------
Iris0 -
Imagine Clarence Clemen's sax playing by the camfire echoing off the mountain lake??
how close to heaven are we gonna get!
I will go get more firewood!0 -
Don't know but think I sure wouldn't mind finding out. If you need firewood, you might ask Bruce to assist--looking at those arms he could sure carry his share.Whoa....

Iris0 -
Sorry to arrive so late. I brought some help to widen the circle as we have lots of new sisters that will be joining us tomorrow. He has a pretty big spread of his own so he should be a big help. For those of you still up, this is Robert, Robert Redford. No, NS he isn't going to try any of his "horse whisperer" talents on your horse!! He'll be leaving at first dawn, so let him rest gals.
My wagon is green and is covered in a red tulip quilt made by my Maw Little. My table is covered with a croched coverlet and my gown is fancy smocked by her too. Thought I would fix everyone her chicken and dumlings (Pennsylania German Style)tomorrow so I will need that big fat black cast iron pot. I can show off her crochet table coverlet when we eat. Marla, do you think some of us could join you on the hike; I can't go far but it is so lovely here. Peaceful and powerful place.
I am going to have to put on a sweatshirt tonight. There is a touch of fall in the air; crisp and clear. If you listen closely you can hear the windchimes ever so softly and a soft breeze plays at your hair. The fire is brightly reflecting in the campsight tonight - I look at the flames and they are dancing; maybe before I arrived the girls did a healing dance by the fire and the fire has continued that dance. I have found this has been a magical place filled with love, compassion, strength and hope. Hundreds are here and more are coming because we have sisters carrying heavy loads. We do what comes naturally when one is hurting - we protect our sisters. We are like a wedding ring - a circle not to be broken, it has no beginning and no end - it is forever.
Robin, Rhymee, Mena, Denise, Cheri, Marsha, Katz & Sara, Gwenn, Pennylane, Diane, Shellills, and new diagnosed Lisa, we hope you have found comfort in our wagon circle; that you have felt the love and the power of our prayers. We pray that you are stronger knowing we are here and that we care; that in the lonliness and darkness of the night when fears creep in, you know we are the friend beside you.
Sleep well, grow stronger; The Force of the Sisterhood is standing watch as long as we are needed. Blessings to all sisters. This circle is strong and can take lots of wind, rain, snow and sleet, even stand against those that want this wagon circle to move on -not yet, we have much to do; we are still needed.
The Force of the Sisterhood is on guard!!0 -
Well I'm also ready for the night shift. Sounds like I made it just in time. NS, your chili is wonderful, as is your taste is music, ahem, or should I say musicians. I think I need some help getting some wood, maybe I could borrow Bruce for just a few minutes.
Oh wow, Naniam you brought the horse whisperer, I don't know anything about whispering to horses but I'd be willing to learn, lol. Your making chicken and dumplings tomorrow......yum! Wow, I bet I've gained 10 pounds on this wagon trail, but it's okay, it's for a good cause.
On a serious note, I hope that the wonderful sisters that we are circling are resting comfortably, and can feel how much they are loved. Hoping that they get great news soon.
Love and Hugs,
JoJo0 -
Vicki - that was the song my x-DH and I danced to at our wedding. No wonder we are still great friends and nothing more. I do love Louis and that song.

Peggy - I was gonna say Marla is giving you some real competion, Hopefully one of you will always be able to provide us with those GREAT visuals.

Once again the latest one awake and posting. The retaurant business does this to you. I had to stop by, catch up and take over the watch for a while.
I'm here watching over all of the sleepy-heads. Thinking of positive energy, good thoughts and peaceful prayers.
Sleep well Sisters.0 -
Did someone mention rain on the horizon?
(Here Comes) That Rainy Day Feeling Again
The Fortunes
Here comes that rainy day feeling again,
and soon my tears will be falling like rain...
It always seems to be a Monday,
Leftover memories of Sunday always spent with you.
Before the clouds appeared, and took away my sunshine.
Here comes that rainy day feeling again,
and I'll be dreaming of you baby in vain.
Your face is always on my mind, girl,
I'm hoping you're soon gonna find, girl, your way back to me,
'cause if you'll say you'll stay,
the rainy days will go away...
Here comes that rainy day feeling again,
and soon my tears will be falling like rain0 -

It's 4:20 am, and I'm still up having just been stricken with terror: As Namian put so perfectly, "the lonliness and darkness of night when fears creep in"...so here I am, and I do feel the love and it is overwhelming. You will all help me sleep tonight..well, today...
The terror is partly due not only to progressing mets, but another lump that needs to be, well, you know how it goes...so I am petrified and I came down from my cushy hotel up yonder to hang with my girls hahahah....I brought the cheesecake my boyfriend brought me tonight to share with you.
Thank you again for the love and prayers. I think I'm gonna skooch in with one of you, pssst...move over...you, there...with the gun...I need all the ammo I can get...let me in...Mena...xo0 -
Oh Mena, it's me!Of course you must come in.Lie down, relax. We will guard you.Sleep, sleep, you are loved. There is ALWAYS someone here who cares about you, who will protect you.Four AM is L'heur de loup-the hour of the wolf.It is a very, very scarey time. You came to the right place. Please come whenever you want, there's always room for you!(Give the cheescake to the skinny girls!)Do you want some?Would you like milk, or noncaffinatd tea?Do you want to be closer to the fire, where the shadows arent ?
I hope you can rest now.Rest well.0 -
Early morning watch is on duty. Seems like I slept through alot of fun going on at the circle. But, Im awake now - warm coffee in hand. Im wrapped in my blanket. I made it for myself during all of my chemo treatments. So its keeping nice and warm - yes there is a nip of fall in the air.
Its sort of nice sitting here. Its quiet. Gives me time to be thankful for having all of you as friends. Sending out powerful waves to calm all of you special ladies who are dealing with new lumps, chemo, reoccurance, etc. Not gonna let anything that even resembles cancer to break through this circle.
My wagon is white with a big red cross. Im the medic lol. Here to take care of anyone that needs help. So please send all those tired boys to my tent. Please!
Hot biscuits with chocolate gravy sounds awesome. Im gonna run down to the lake for a bit - need to wash up and feel like swimming naked. Shhhhh! Dont tell Peggy.
And Mena. Im chasing that fear away with my iron cast skillet. You should be safe tonight.
And darn, I missed having a coors with fancy. Maybe I will see her in the barns when she wakes up. Well, after the Coors, she might be getting up later.
Sleep well all of you. Morning has just arrived and Im here to protect and serve.

Ladies...I have brought a friend today. And yes, you are welcome to hike with us...I figured I needed to bring some "protection" from the wild beasts roaming about. Although some of the shaking in the bushes ISN'T any wild animal...just some wild & crazy sisters lettin loose! Go sisters GO!

Ladies, meet Glen...Glen Danzig. Glen, meet my sisters. The goal here is to slay anything that resembles the beast called Cancer, so be on the lookout, dear! Okay...gonna pack up some lunch and head out shortly...C'mon Glen - let's go.
0 -
Ladies...he may look "bad"...well...yeah, he does! Nevermind that skull stuff!!! That was from the last beast he slayed! I figure the cancer beast will be scared of him!!!

ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL!!!
Standing strong for our sisters!!!
I'm headed out...you guys can "catch up" to us...I hear theres some beautiful scenery from the other side! Hope some of you can join us. We're headed toward those mountains to see the other side.
Be back later this evening. NS - will you and the ladies rustle up some good grub for dinner? We will be STARVING when we get back...I have packed some lunch, but don't expect it to hold us over much past dinnertime. Can't wait to see what you ladies cook up!
Marla0 -
Oh yeah...forgot to pass the torch to Peggy. It's your turn lady!!! The sisters need visuals!
Marla0 -
Afternoon ladies!!!! I'll take parts of this watch but everything seems pretty calm and quiet...wait a minute...are you guys at the waterfall with Kevin!!!
Loved the descriptions of your wagons...if anything scary comes near me though, I'm hiding out with NS...she's got the heavy artillary.0 -

Sorry I'm late, just got back from town missed alot. My wagon is the old weathered one that needs painting ( my dh is a painter). Ted and I patroled the back forty and everything's quiet there. We may have to move to higher ground with some of our new sisters joining and Carrie keeps bringing the buffalo chips back to the campsite!! Place is starting to smell.
I made some vegetable stew for us vegans and some peach pie.
NS, Gossip back in town is Bruce may be available again.....0 -
Peach pie sounds yummy. I think we need this if Vickie is going to get sand in her thong(s) again...and if Carrie will insist on bringing in those buffalo chips...
0 -
Lost my thongs...again...aahhh well, what's a girl to do.
0 -
Vegetable stew sounds marvelous...I'm bringing chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn on the cob...and Kevin if I can find him...ummm...NS?
0 -
Vickie...you might not want to show Kevin that photo of you with those wax lips & teeth honey...show him the "real" you tonight!!
0 -
Not a whole lot of the real me left..LOL.
Bought two pair of jeans today because I'm so sick of hiking my pants up constantly (gaining weight though) and I just grabbed two pairs of size 3. One a pair of Levi's and the other said "superflow"...WRONG...got em home and the second pair say superLOW. Chemo brain got me again. Going to take Nathaniel to a car show tomorrow (he's my little car buff) and I just might wear them super low jeans...take the attention of my super short hair and no boobs!!! hmmm...maybe I'll find a DD prosthesis and a belly shirt too.
Guess who I found to protect us tonight ladies....
We are safe and sound with this bunch...although I think someone needs to have a talk with Miss Kitty about her infatuation with Matt...
Call me goofy but Festus was always my favorite when I was a kid.
So ladies...no guarding tonight...we are all safe and sound and able to concentrate on babying our dear sisters who need us.0 -

You are a Jersey girl.... is this true???
Just one date. That is all I ask.
I have been in love with him since I was 12.0 -
Well heck, if Bruce is back in town, aren't you glad you finally had your hair cut?!?!
0 -
I am noticing a theme here... and it has me in the chuck wagon...
tonight I have boneless leg of lamb that has been slow roasted and it is stuffed with spinach, pine nuts and fontina cheese.
I grilled some asparagus
And we have roasted new potatoes with garlic and fresh rosemary.
Maybe when fancy is out on a beer run she could pick us up a nice wine to go with dinner?
Someone made the peach pie so we are good to go!
Dinner is at 8.
Carrie, buffalo chips are not permitted.0 -
I just wish I looked the way I used to!
But my hair is good- that is true!0 -
Like the little girl on the beach...oh to be that age again...
0 -
What an adorable little girl on the beach you are!!! My son LOVES the beach...can't wait to get there next month.

Yes I am a Jersey Girl. Go to the shore almost every weekend. Bruce was supposed to marry me way back when. Then that Julianne Phillips took him from me..
But now that he may be back, we can fight over and then share him. Isn't that what sisters do??0 -
Cowgirls, James Taylor called and he may stop by with his guitar to sing us to sleep tonight. We should have such a soft and peaceful night with his voice...
0 -
ummm...here's Bruce...not wanting to start a catfight though.
NS...now that I've rounded up Bruce can I pleeeese have Kevin back?!?
0 -
ok...
the stinking horse are loose...
Bruce won't sing without a crowd...
I'm starving...
I'm hearing strange noises in the woods...Bruce won't check it out...only has a guitar, no gun...what kind of man is that!
Coyotes are circling and I know there's bears out there and I'm pretty sure Carrie's hiding buffalo chips under my wagon to use later for reasons unknown!
Where is everybody...did you all run off to Lini's hoe-down...? Geez. Sorry NS...bored silly here so I'm taking Bruce for a bit.0 -
Good afternoon ladies. My wagon is large and warm. Instead of the traditional white, mine is covered in Tie-dye colors. The back is beaded to catch the light and covered with bells. I guess Im just a gypsy at heart. Inside you will find warm fluffy blankets and cushions and music playing all the time. It smells of sweet grass mats and a quick whiff of the seashore. You will always find the cupboard in the back filled with great food: fresh baked bread, berries ripe form the vine and chocolate always chocolate! There is always room for a sister who is weary and needs a safe place to rest, or one who wants to sit up all night and chat Im always up for an all-nighter with good friends. Im off for a walk before supper. While Im walking be assured I am thinking of all of you and saying a prayer for peace and healing.

Dang...it's getting cold too...oh wait...never mind, Bruce will take care of it but I really wish someone would come along and build a fire!

Mena sweetie, last night I slept in a hammock in my backyard. I filled it with blankets and pillows, listened to the crickets and stared at the stars. I felt like my little yard was filled with all these sisters in tents, or sleeping bags or whatever it took to be there with me. I feel so much love I could burst (but hopefully not an artery) HeeHee! I apologize! That's how I handle stess.
Honestly Mena, feel us with you always, always, always.
Cookie, (oops) I mean NS, dinner was scruptious!!!
Love,
Denise0 -
Hope all our circled sisters sleep well and know that we are keeping them safe.
Night all.

Oh man, God is definitely with me tonight. My BF just walked in with his guitar...acoustic...one of my all time favorite sounds in the world...we've got some Nirvana, Chili Peppers, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac omg...I had no idea he was this good!
Please, gather 'round...he even sings hahaha...I had no idea...this is pure joy. Really I am joyful! Wow...the simplest things...
Last night the cheesecake, tonight this...what's next?
Love to all of you and rest well...I wish you could all feel the way I do right now. God knows, you've helped me get here and for that I am forever grateful...Mena...xo0 -
NS, dinner was great, as usual, and I've finished washing all those dishes. I'm ready for some music by the campfire.....Vickie, I built the fire for you. I'll take over watch for now.
