Good Morning Everyone: Cant tell what kind of day its gonna be yet. Its still very dark "in the middle of the night!" Its warm enough to sit by the campfire, but its very foggy. If there were a full moon - I would be scared cause this fog reminds me of werewolves in the movies.

Coffee is done. Dont ya just love the smell of coffee in the morning? So Im just sitting here, relaxing - and very glad its Friday.

Lini: Ask for a description and you shall receive. Thanks for the post - it had a bit of history besides a description of the candy. So now I wonder, have any of you heard of Frango Mints? Fanny maes? Those are my 2 favorite candies.

Krisitn: Yipee! #3 a/c is done. You are so right about figuring out your side effects. That is what got me through chemo. Once I learned my side effects I was able to manage them. I was so darn happy when I finished the a/c. Just go to the medic tent and relax. We will take care of you.

Jeannie: Ewwww is right. How encouraging to hear that from you PS!! If you get an odor, make sure to let the PS know cause then you might need antibiotics. I have an appointment with my PS on 11-29. Supposed to tell him if I wants nips or not. I have decided - definitely not! Im tired and Im done with treatment.

Liz: Oh my, your hands are full. Just remember, you dont have to communicate with the doctor in person. A telephone conversation can go a long way. Keep pounding it into your family. Caring for aging parents is so hard. You need to sit your husband down and remind him of what you have been through this past year. He knows cause he has been there with you. Explain to him how stress can cause havoc on your body. What kind of surgery is your FIL having. Tell you family - there isnt a decision here. Doesnt matter who and how stubborn. Your in laws need assisted living right now! Here in Illinois many of the AL facilities have respites. Good way to get them in, then move them in! You need to go to the spa tent. Take time out just for yourself.

Margaret: I would love watching Dancing with the Stars. I started taking dancing lessons when I was 3 years old and can still dance up a storm. But alas, my husband wont watch it! Jericho is great, but ya almost need to watch it from the beginning. The plot thickens!

Cheryl: Glad you stayed home from work and went to the doctor. I think I would have stood up and pounded my feet pleading for an antibiotic. Be careful visiting your grandchildren. You still may be contagious. And SNOW you say! See I knew it. Mother nature likes to play tricks on ya. Thats how it is here in the chicago end of the circle. Warm today, storms tomorrow! I love the idea of a map with stick pins!

DebC: Darn! I thought it was a good exchange lol. Glad your gonna post it on the recipe thread. I havent been there much, but Im hoping maybe we can get some homemade Holiday cookie recipes

Susan: I hope all is well. If I remember correctly the x-ray is today! Got Distorted Humor all saddled up and ready to go with ya.

NS: Oh my, you must really still be sick. Usually you are so talkative. Hope everything is ok.

Peggy: Hmmmm, moving on with life is good. Actually taking back your life is wonderful! But we miss ya gal.

I am feeling so darn lazy this morning. I wish I didnt have to go to work today - but I cant call in. Im also a corporate DON consultant for another company and I have to go there today! And all I want to do is stay home and play.

Hey evreyone, I think I did it. It is exactly one week ago my husband starting getting a cold. Got him the antibiotic quick. And no cold symptoms here! Yipee!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

    Good morning circle girls!

I am posting a bit earlier today as I am off from work and actually hitting the computer at home. Please take notice that early for me is 8,,lol. SO just brought me fresh starbucks coffee so I am a happy camper. She is cooking breakfast and then will wake the boy for all of us to eat and head to the farm to get work done. Its going to be 80 degrees today,,geesh this weather is weird. Its freaking November we dont need 80 degrees. We are all off today for Veterans day so going to take advantage of an off day.

Nicki, yes I do catch myself laughing out loud at work often and I am sure others just think I got a funny email. Oh well, would never even try to explain the wagon girls to them because they might have me committed. Nicki, I guess Chicago is too far for me to go to take guitar lessons huh? I guess I should let my fingers heal also. Speaking of fingers they are much better today and I can type with two hands.

DebC-I do have some bag balm and that is what I used yesterday and put a bandaid on the split one to keep it moist. Not sure about the washing dishes part???!!! lol. Maybe when the dishwasher cuts off I can open it and use that steam,,,lol. I guess I could do that with my work gloves also though and that might be a better plan for me.

Kristin congrants on chemo #3. Dont you just love the countdown to the finish. I was like you and had to figure out the side effects and then it was much easier. You could predict your good days and bad days and plan you life accordingly.

CherylG-another early riser I see. Man, I dont see how you women do it. I wasn't created that way to rise before 6.

Liz-Gonna have to have the serious talk with the husband. You know Men, they hear what they wanna. He has had a rough year also as he stood beside you but you were the one that it was all being done too. Take it easy because you have alot on your plate.

NS-Hoping to see you stick your face out of the medic tent again soon. You have had a rough few weeks.

Cheryl-Isnt that how it always is when you go to the doctor? No fever. Its the same way when I have a car problem and get my dad to drive it,,it never does it. Heres wishing you a speedy recovery.

Nicki-we should get our crazy dogs together and while distorted humor and Mazer are playing the dogs could play and wear themselves out. Nothing like a good tired dog at night.

Jeannie-nothing like hearing your PS say ewwww. Take care of yourself.

Mena, thinking of you and hoping to see you post soon. Us mets girls have to stick together ya know and pull each other through. Come on now,,,<waving cheesecake under your nose>!

Cheryl-I also do the copy thing in case my post gets lost. So far so good but I have also hit the wrong button and that can really piss you off. For some reason the second post is never as good as the first one you had all complete.

Well, I am off to start my day and tossing a few logs on the fire for the cooler end of the wagon train. Whoever mentioned the states with the pins on them had an excellent idea. Ok who is creative and has time?

Bye for now and hope to check in over the weekend. Going to really try to get some pictures this weekend to post.

Good Morning girls. Up at Odark30 this morning. Which was a good thing cause the grands were up at Odark31. Me thinks I'm gonna be a tired grammie come Sunday. Had a massage yesterday. First one since before my surgery. It was heaven on earth. I like the pin map idea.

Nicki, glad your appt went well. "Sees" is fabulous, wonderful, magnificent candy.
Was son in laws birthday but since I lost so much weight with my appendix they let me keep the left overs. Gotta fatten momma up.

Lini, it always amazes me that folks don't know Sees or what a tri-tip is.

    Kristin, gentle hugs....REST

Jeannie, UGH-I'm sorry your having problems. Duck? uh no thanks.

Liz, grrrrr is right, cause now I'm playing phone tag with a busy doc for the results. I have the #'s but I don't understand them. You are a busy girl my dear. Take care of you.

Does anyone know how to interpret "Bone Specific Alkaline Phosphatase and N-Telopeptide.

    Hi Margaret

Cheryl, I hope you feel better soon. A new baby is grand.

Oh, I saw that m&m ad too, but haven't gotten over there yet. That's a tad pricey - yikes!

Just taking a quick break from working to see what's happening. I work from home, so there is no one to hear my LOL, but that doesn't stop me!

Still really sunny here, and looks warm. I might venture out for a walk around the circle at lunch today. I'll bring my trusty friend Jake (chocolate lab) with me. Smiles!

    wah my post didn't post!
I wanted to let you know I'm doing ok. No cancer. A cyst on my ovaries. discussion about whether to remove or not. got x-rays today. see onc on Monday.

You all are wonderful. I'm frustrated because I don't want more surgery but if I think I should have it I don't want some pea-brained doctor trying to talk me out of it because I have "risk factors" ie I'm overweight. So I'm trying to gather information about removing cyst, removing ovaries, etc. It's actually more controversial than you would think. Anyway I'm gonna post about this in a separate thread and see what info I can gather. As long as the ribs are ok I'm good.

Susan - Great news! And yes, find out your facts and then advocate for what YOU want. As fabulous as so many doctors are, they are just people after all, with their own opinions and biases. Always great to hear that things are OK though!!

    Hello girls,
I am still trying to get out of grumpydome

My scan revealed some things and they are STILL not resolved and it has made me extremely cranky.

I have a nodule on my lung that they want to wait six months to see if it grows any larger. If it does then they say I can worry. But for now I shouldn't think about it. YAH!

I have something in the right breast that they are not sure is related to my last core bx or if it is left over from tne bx- meaning they didn't remove enough of the tissue. So they want to watch THAT too. This is not good for someone like me who doesn't believe in watching and waiting.

The rib growth no one can figure out- but they say it is something. They just don't know what. AND THESE ARE TOP DOCS.

The last is the thyroid that all of them have said looks like cancer to them. I had a biopsy of it two years ago and it was clear. But now they tell me that is only 85% accurate and even if it was b9 THEN doesn't mean it isn't cancer now.
BUT the doc I saw has left medicine to work for a pharma company!! So they want me to start all over with someone new.

My PCP was away on maternity leave and I think she may have come back too early. She wasn't the same doc she used to be.
So the followup with her- which was vital since she is the one who has to write all the referrals for all these extra tests was not very productive. She used to listen and take her time but now her mind is elsewhere. I even used to check with her on the dosages of meds and supplements I am taking but she didn't even want to go there. And believe me I am the dream patient. I have all my meds written out with the amount I take and when and I have reports she needs and no more than 5 questions. The first 4 were regarding the PET/CT scan. THe last was about the supplements. I don't waste time when I am in with a doc because I know they don't have it.

SO I AM cranky and want to just sit in the medic tent and watch HGTV and eat ice cream for a few more days if that is ok.... Then I will somehow find all my old records and start brand new with my new docs and ride the bus from hell again!

Glad to see everyone is doing so well. It was 64 degrees here today! This is my kind of November!!!

    Love you Circle Girls!

Great news! I'm so happy for you! I had an Ovary removed 2 years ago because it had a cyst on it (the cyst was larger than the Ovary, that's why they removed the Ovary too). The procedure was not bad at all. They were able to take it out through an incision in my belly button! I was horizontal for about 2 days. Best wishes to you.

Haven't been here for awhile but stopped by to say hello.

NS-sad to read that you are having to go through the waiting game. I hate it!! Not to mention changing doctors. I still miss my old onc. but know I'm where I need to be as you will be as well. Hang tight and know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I like cookie dough ice cream and have extra if you need.

Alaska Deb- can't remember is I told you congrats on finishing radiation...I seem to need to write everything down now adays.

Susan, glad to hear it was a cyst. Know it is hard to decide about surgery but know you will make the right choice for you.

Shirley, are those M&M's gold plated??

To everyone else have a great weekend! Lisa

Ya know. I am a witch. But just change the W to a B!! I have been crabby all day. Made my coworker cry. Came home and yelled at my husband and dog. Pushed the cat off the bed! Tried to work on my craft and just got too nervous. So - I got a glass of pinot grigio and came to the circle.

I just realized there is a very good reason for "being mean spiritied!" Once again, trying to self diagnose. Decided I was doing fine. Stopped the darn Lexapro - weaned off it so I thought. Took one every other day last month and stopped it totally one week ago. Other antidepresants dont work or I have side effect to them. And my insurance copay is way too high on Lexapro. But what an idiot I am. Feeling like this is not worth it. Im going get it filled in the morning.

So I got myself a glass of wine, and I came here - and Im feeling better already. Whoever predicted snow was right. We went from the 70's yesterday to the 30's. Its rainy and cold, lightning and thunder oh my.

Now there could be another reason for this gosh awful mood. We had a party at work today. Well I ate a bagel, cherry cobbler, and a donut!! Remember Im on South Beach. I think maybe all those carbs about making me crazy.

Amy: Mister is half black lab and half border collie. Its the border collie that makes him feisty. He loves to run (I call it his agility trails). He goes full speed. So the two dogs together would be great. Once he's done running, he passes out!

Shirley: Tell us what was abnormal on the tests - but also tell us what the normal ranges are. I always ask for copies of my blood tests. Have so many doctors - so I carry the results with me, and then have them make copies.

Colleen: Thanks for bringing sunshine today. I need it really bad lol.

Lynn: Night shift! Oh I hated working nights. But I know some people love it. Hope you have lots of fun with your son this week-end. Now make sure you come back and tell us all about it. Hopefully, I will still be alive after this week-end. Surely my husband, dog, and two cats - one of them will try and strangle me if I dont change my mood fast.

Susan: Oh so glad to see you. X-ray is done thank goodness. When you go to the onc on Monday, we will be there. I know what you mean about the surgery being controversial! Go with what your heart tells you to.

NS: Oh geez! You have alot more reasons to be cranky than me. This whole thing stinks. Wait, wait, wait. Im stomping my foot and waving my Italian finger and Im saying Im not gonna wait anymore. Whew! NOw that felt good. It sure seems like alot of us are having problems with our thyroids. Now where does it say that - anywhere? So whats the plan? For the thyroid? Besides waiting? Sending you big hugs. Im gonna grab your hand. We need to leave the medic tent. We need to go to the venting tent and after that to the spa tent. Massage, pedicure, manifure, soft music, blue lights, and lots of candles.

Carrie and Denise: How are you? Has Denise had the surgery yet? I just realized we havent heard from you in a while and I am hoping everything is ok.

LauraGTO: So good to see you. I have just decided we all need to party in the spa tent. Just talk, relax, and try and forget about things - even if its only for a day.

Lisa: good to see you too. There is a chair in the spa tent that has your name written all over it.

Well, I feel much better - Im getting that LEXAPRO tomorrow. And I hope my dear coworker will forgive me for making her cry. See ya in the morning

    Hey Nicki-

I did the whole "doctor deb" thing and tried to stop my lexapro too...bad idea! Lucky for me mine only costs 30 bucks a month. I'm glad I can afford it, because I need it. I think I will wait a few months before I try and stop it. I don't think just finishing treatment is a good time to stop.

Margaret, I’d like to see Emmitt win also. He makes me smile. But Mario will probably win it.

Kristin, hope today has been a good one for you.

Jeannie, Oh My! Keep an eye on yourself hon.

Nicki, Thanks for the spa suggestion. I did very little today even though I should have. Yes, the antidepressants do help us. My Lexapro costs a bit also. But less than my Arimidex. Life without the Lexapro isn’t fun. Hugs dear.

Cheryl, of course there’s no temp! I do that everytime I go to the doc. I feel like an idiot. Hope you’re feeling better. If not, call and get some antibiotics.

Susan, Great on no cancer! I had my ovaries out in July. Wasn’t bad at all.

NS – Crap! Crap! Crap! Of course stay in the medic tent as long as you need to. We have lots of “healing” foods in there.

Amy, I think everyone thinks I’m “cured” now. They just don’t get it. Even though I’m no getting chemo etc. I still don’t feel 100% yes and may never feel that way. Ahh the joys of family.

Mena, I’ll make you a cheesecake. How are you?

Cheryl, great idea to copy and paste.

Sher, do you have all 4 of the kids? You are such a great grammie. Sorry I don’t know much about the bone tests. Like Nicki said give us some info (levels) and I’ll see what I can find out for you.

Colleen, I was going to take a nice walk today. The sun was shining and it looked nice outside. I headed out into a 30mph north wind. Didn’t get far!

Lisa40, nice to see you again. How are you?

Laura, what time is the biopsy Monday? I need to get my horse ready.

    I know I’ve missed many.

    Hugs and Prayers

Where can we buy that bag balm you mentioned?

NOSURRENDER you have every right to be grumpy with all those unresolved issues. You are in my thoughts and prayers

LV2CAMP yep I'm an early riser alright but I'm also an early crasher I'm thinking I might like to take a stab ( no pun intended) at that pin map. Anyone with suggestions please PM me

SUSAN thanks for sharing that great news. Hopefully you will have more good news soon. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Gather all info you can... knowledge is strength!

CHEMOSABI you are NOT an idiot. We all try what we can to get away from paying soooooo much for all the meds we need. You are smart to realize that you need to go back on it though. I guess we can't put a price on our health. How do you find South Beach?? It's about the only one I haven't tried yet

LAURA nice picture. You have a great winning smile. I love the idea of "borrowing" the name for your walk group. It's an excellent motto

    Hey CherylG-
Bag Balm is available in most drug stores. I think Wal-mart even carries it. You can usually find it in the lotion section or in the first aid section near the neosporin and bandaids. It is in a square green tin. I love the stuff and use it all the time in the winter when my skin gets really dry.

Have to stop a moment. Have a good friend from the chat. WendyK. Her friend JoAnn is in hospice at the hospital. Putting both of them in the middle of our circle. We can all gather, hold hands and surround them with love and peace.

Ok this time I mean it. See ya in the morning

Big hugs for both WendyK and JoAnn. Come and let us take care of you in the center of the circle.

I also want to ask for some prayers for my husband's Godmother and Aunt, Rosemary. She was DX with BC yesterday. It makes me SO angry. She is 72 years old and is having a mast in a week. She lost her husband to blader cancer just a couple of years ago. She is a woman of strong faith and would appreciate your prayers.

    Nicki-
Bag balm is not really scented. It has a vaguely old time medicine smell...but faint. You can open the can and take a sniff before you buy it.
