Thanks Rhymeee! I don't know how you do that, pulling those rhymes out of a hat! (LOL - I rhymed too!)

Thanks for the welcome newvickie. I think what I need the most right now is just what I've found here....a place where people understand. No one close to me can understand what I am going through right now...not my DH, not my friends, not my family....they all keep telling me to keep a positive attitude and they expect me to be strong and upbeat all the time....but that is just not possible, you know???

    I know you guys understand....

    Thanks!!

Welcome aboard, the food is excellent,
the songs are off key but fun,
hugs to anyone who needs them,
quiet time if needed and no one forces you to do or say anything that you don't want nor do you have to feel strong like you're holding the world on your shoulders. We're just here for each other with no pressure.
Cry if you feel like it, hell we all may cry with you, bash a man or two or ten if we want.

Lini that's a very nice thing to say - wish I'd thought of it.

Let me add my welcome K4Katz! And I'm a marshmallow freak.

Newvickie I can kinda relate to not liking the place where you went through chemo etc. We have moved and that took care of that. Yes, I bet the same old sofa would bring back memories. And I moved closer to family. I don't have children, but I'm sure they seem more important now to you than ever. When the weather gets cold, sit closer to the fire or call and we can have a cup of cocoa together over the phone.

Carrie I bet my butt is bigger than your butt. We have to time this carefully tomorrow. I think Denise and Debbyfive both have appointments. Yes? We need horses with rockets on 'em.

Rhymeee you are rockin with your poems.

I'm sure I forgot something. Oh well.

Good Morning. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning. Pretty tired from yesterdays events. Thought I would share how the party went.

On the way there, it was just beautiful. We had to go to farm country near the Illinois/Wisconsin border. There were acreas upon acres of soy bean. The leaves were yellow, another sign of fall. As the sun was shining on them, the fields looked "golden." A lovely sight indeed. I saw old barns, horses and cows grazing. And the corn, already harvested, was still as high as an elephants eye. So the ride there was just wonderful.

I looked like such a dork! Everyone was wearing blue jeans, flip flopts, gym shoes, and some pretty flimsy tops lol. Anyways - there I was with my outfit on. Had a pretty Hawaiin shirt with lavender orchids. A pair of Khaki pants, and lavender Mary Jane shoes! Lets just say I stuck out and leave it with that.

I have been so proud of my hair growth, 9 months post chemo - although it is still pretty much like baby hair and hard to style. Well as soon as I walked in the door I had chemo written all over my face.

The people were so nice, but it was an endless conversation. I must have said Im doin well at least 20 times.

After 3 glasses of wine, my husband played "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights." (Meatloaf). I couldnt resist - I got up and danced my ass off. Then of course everyone was coming up to me, are you ok? Oh my your sweating. Well of course I was sweating - thats a pretty long song to dance to lol.

All in all it was a very nice party. But boy am I tired this morning.

Got coffee brewing for all. Hope I will catch some of you a little later.

Kristin welcome. Hello to all my friends. Susan - you are just too nice.

And when it comes to big butts - please put me in the contest. Its a biggun.

My house is too quite. Kids went to school and the time of day I usually love. I'm not going to wait by the phone all day for dr to call. I have a feeling what she is going to say but I still have hope that she is wrong. Thank you for circling me during this rough time. I think of you all many times throughout the day and think about how lucky I am to have found you. Have a great day. I'll be back later tonight when kids are in bed and I have news. Lisa

Good morning from the foothills. The sun is trying to make its way over a strong morning mist. It has conquered the upper regions so that the mountain tops - all snow covered now - can peak thru and glimmer - blue sky above, mist below. Magical.

Hazelnut coffe by the fire for those who want a mug.

Came back from a long day yesterday - not dancing like chemosabi, but dancing in a different way.
A sweat lodge is a traditional Native ceremony for healing - physically, mentally, emotionaly and spiritually. I attend a traditional lodge run by Native people - and attended mostly by Natives. Some of us white folk slip in - and all are welcome. I asked for prayers for all of you.

After the sweat we have a "feast" - a pot luck meal that consists of what ever people bring. Always soup made fresh by out firekeeper, bannock and whatevers (like roasted chicken from the deli, fruit, pies, deserts). Yesterday a Cree Elder sent some traditional Cree ceremonial soup - made with blue berries, black berries, buffalo meat. raisins, rice. Very different and very delicious. I shall have to try and get the reipe.

NOt that our appetites are whetted - I am off to forage for a birthday present for the DH. Today is the day and I have been remiss! Will pick up some firewood on the way - will be a long winter if we have to depend only on buffalo chips.

Morning to all I must say
just woke up what a beautiful day

fall is definitely in the air
not a minute of dylight now to spare

I rode late last night and into the morning too
keeping a real good eye on you

the center it seems is filling up
I hate that so, we've had enough

I wont quit riding, I'll be here for you
One thing I can do is see you through

A special note sprinkled here and there
but to all of you, I really do care

    Lisa,

Like you and others I understand the terror that I felt waiting for a Docs call just about a week ago. Sweat was pouring from me for 6 weeks. I was " lucky " and by eveerything I believe in I sure hope you are too ! What ever this phone call is, all of us will be here for you and try so very hard to give you what we can........comfort, love, understanding nd hope. We will NOT abandon you !!!!

    Eagle,

how I envy your recent experience ! Sure wish I could have been there. Love comes to us in many ways, think you experienced that at the gathering you just attended.

    Mena,

Seems like the NJ gathering truly energized you. Glad you could go !

    Nickii,

Of " course " you stood out ! Bet I'd know you anywhere !
BTW...... stand out " good "

    Good morning dear ladies!

I have had a BUSY weekend and am about to hit the mountain trails again. What will I see today??

I just wanted to officially join the Fat Bottom Girls! Heck, I think I'm the poster child ***grin** This Baby has Back to spare.

But, just for ALL of your info, us FBGirls are TRENDY now! You heard it here first ladies...A$$ is in, boobs are out. Now this is not just a boobless woman talking here. I got it straight for a girlfriend that actually reads fashion magazines, not cooking magazines. According to Vogue breasts are very "last year". This year we are supposed to flaunt our "Bottom Cleavage". I kid you not! What used to be called plumbers crack in now cool and trendy. So…I’m pulling out my size 24 hiphuggers and flaunting the only cleavage I’ve got left!

    FBGirls rejoice!!

Talk to ya later girls. In the mean time SMILE!!

Hello to all the circle girls. Had a good weekend. Started xeloda back on Saturday after having my so called week of "rest". I so wish I wasnt taking anything everyday. I hate looking at those 4 pills and knowing I have to take them. I try to talk to them and convince them to go in and kick butt but I still dont like it. I rested yesterday after putting up some fencing for my new donkey. I didnt get finished and in fact I am 2 rolls of fence short so there is more work to be done. Oh well, at least when I am finished all my babies will have plenty of fenced in room to roam. The goats will be excited to have fresh green stuff also.

NoSurrender I am on Xeloda, herceptin and zometa. This is my second treatment and have not taken a pain pill all weekend so thats a good thing.

Keeping Trenton in my thoughts and still hoping he is found alive. I am also keeping my eyes out for a silver mitsubishi eclipse with a florida tag. That poor little boy.

Here's to everyone in the center of the circle. You have come to the right place.

Also, count me in for anything to do with marshmellows. Especially if they are the campfire brand.

Bye for now as I am off to ride the circle and watch for any intruders. Amy

    Okay...

Nicki...Paradise by the Dashboard Lights...I used to *sweat* to that when I was a teenager for crying out loud...I am SO DARN happy you went and even HAPPIER that you had so much fun!!

Deb...from one fat bottomed girl to another *high five* lol...I would also like to note (as I am sure some of you already know) Milan has set a new standard for their runway models - they will not accept a model with less than 18% body fat in their shows...TOO SKINNY! Who would have thought??

Baldeagle...I am also jealous...would love to do an authentic "sweat lodge" sweat!

And to everyone else "good morning" and have a Great Day!!!

    Hugs

Thank you girls for going with me to have my MRI's last Wednesday. I really appreciated you all being there with me. I'm just sorry that the machine was so noisy, it really made it hard to carry on a conversation. NS, it was funny when you climbed in the other end of the machine with the chocolate fountain, and everyone followed, we were messy, but it sure tasted great. Luckily the tech was a bc survivor so she was very understanding.
I feel so blessed, I could feel you all there with me, and I thank you for your prayers and thoughts. It made a very hard day easier to deal with. Being on that uncomfortable table for two and a half hours, having 3 MRI's back to back was really hard and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get off of it when it was time to leave, I was in so much pain. But as soon as we arrived back at the circle it was such a welcome site to see Nicki running from the red cross wagon with a pain pill in one hand, and a cool washcloth for my forehead in the other hand, and then a wonderful relaxing back massage that did ease me enough to get a little sleep. Your a great nurse Nicki, thank you for all of your help. Thank you all for you prayers, and thoughts, please continue to pray for good results, which hopefully I will have on Weds.

Denise, I don't know anything about aneurysm's (sp?), but I want you to know that you are in my prayers for the easiest fix possible.

Carrie, Thank you for everything, I hope that your pain is better. I enjoyed the pictures, it was so good to see you and Denise. Please take care of yourself. You are always in my prayers.

Robin, I pray that this week will be a better week for you, and that your scans will bring you good news, stay close to the circle, we are here for you.

Amy, You are in my prayers for an easier week. So glad that you haven't needed your pain pills this weekend. I hope that your pain continues to decrease.

Debby5, I'm with you today, and praying for good news, I hope that you enjoyed your biscuit. We are here with you, day and night.

And NS, I don't know what to say....you are a wonderful friend. Thank you so much for your support and love.

I can't name all of the new additions to our circle, but know that you have come to the right place, whatever your needs are, you will find them met in the center of this circle. The sister's are here around the clock, giving comfort and support......whatever you need. You are all in my prayers as well.

Thank you all so much for your support, your prayers, your thoughts, and especially your love. You are all so special, and it's true, no one understands our needs, our fears, like the circle girls.

    Love you all,
    JoJo

PS, Sorry it took me so long to check in, I really have been trying to type something for days.

My dad had aneurisym surgery about 4 months ago and is recovering well. His was next to his kidney and in a main artery so hang in there. He isnt young either and has managed to pull himself through it. Maybe it helped that he had 4 girls and a wife pushing him but whatever the reason he has recovered and doing well. He was cut on both sides of his groin so not many men would handle that very well.

Thanks to everyone that is wishing me well. So far so good. Me and my bottle of immodium has been good friends today but other than that no problem. I can think of many other bottles I had rather have in my hand than an immodium bottle for sure. Nothing like making a mad dash to the outhouse.

I hope my generator running wont bother anyone tonight but the Steelers are on and I cant miss Hines Ward. Its a honda generator so hopefully it wont bother anybody too much. Goooo Steelers!

I was just thinking (uh-OH) I wonder if we asked Melissa if
she would make this thread a sticky ? It is such a postive loving place to come to, and everyone is welcomed even me a family member! So what do you all think? Can we please Melissa then we wouldn't have to bump it up each day,and it would be easy for everyone to find!

    Good evening sisters,

Have been with family for a few days and just came home and trying to catch up on how everyone is doing. Have had lots of reading!!!

Carrie, that sounds like a great idea. When I came back, I noticed this thread has had 12 thousand lookers and 12 hundred post. I tried to change the rating to 5 stars because, in my humble opinion, it was worth it for all the encouragement, acceptance and warmth found here. I got this message that said it was accepted and that I had changed it to a 5 star but it didn't? I am sure I didn't do anything wrong but it won't change so just thought I would let you guys know and Carrie, your idea sounds great to me.

I will check in later. Hope everyone has had a good Monday and an encouraging start to a new week.

Love to all; missed ya!!!!! Brenda

And a good evening to everyone. I dont have much time (so whats new?) but I wanted to say hello. Gosh on my way home I saw swarms of birds getting ready to fly south. They were so pretty, like ballet.

I really do like this thread and hope Melissa considers making it permanent. That would be great. Gotta watch though, dont want to bring any negative feelings here. We want to support all of our dear sisters who are going through rough times.

Amy - When do you get the results of your tests? Im so hoping and praying things will be ok.

I thought maybe tonight for dinner we could be a little healthy lol. Some nice baked chicken and some warm vegetable soup. And of course for Mena - cheese cake.

So who says dessert has to be healthy?

Have a great evening. Im gonna be watching football myself. If you hear screaming, its me, I think I am a referee and yell quite a bit.

    Have a great evening.

Baked chicken sounds great Nicki! I'm too tired to cook - haven't been sleeping very well.
However, my visit with the neurologist went well. Not carpal tunnel in my right hand, nothing bad on the MRI's. Some kind of pinched nerve, will go for physical therapy on Wed. morning.
If the visit with my onc tomorrow afternoon goes as well as this visit today, I'll be doing the happy dance! (And maybe I'll be able to sleep!)
Good luck to all awaiting results, or having tests and appointments this week. You're in my thoughts! Ronda

    here's my cheese cake recipe IT's del~!~!~!

I KOW IT SHOULD GO IN THE RECIPE section but.....

    Chocolate-Caramel Topped Cheesecake

    325 degrees
    CRUST:
1-1/3 c shortbread cookie crumbs*** (I used one keebler cookie crust)
    2 T butter (melted)
    FILLING:
3 pkg cream cheese (softened) (8 oz each)
    2 T plain flour
    ¾ c sugar
    2 eggs
    ¼ c br sugar
    1 egg yolk
    ¼ c milk
    1 tsp vanilla

    TOPPING:

2 squares chocolate (the kind made for candy)
    chopped pecans or walnuts
2 T caramel ice cream topping (can use more)

    ***Combine cookie crumbs, add butter
and press into a 9 in spring form pan; set aside.

In large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugars and vanilla until smooth, add milk and flour.
    Add eggs and egg yolk,
beating on low speed until combined.

    Pour into crust.
    Place on baking sheet

Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 min or until center is almost set.
Cool on wire rack for 10 min.
Carefully run a knife around the edge of pan to loosen.
Cool for at least 6 hours or overnight.

    Remove side of pan.

In microwave melt the chocolate and put in a baggie.
Cut the corner of the baggie and drizzle over the cheese cake (can cover the whole cheesecake and drizzle on the caramel)
Heat the caramel sauce in the microwave and drizzle crossways over the cheese cake.
Top the chocolate and caramel with the pecans or walnuts

Can use this basic cheese cake recipe and add different toppings
    Tried this on 17 Jun ~!~! EXCELLENT~!~!

    Hi girls,
Just checking in to say hi and thanks for the warm welcome! I am kind of having a hard time keeping track of everyone, but my thoughts and prayers are with the entire circle community! I had a rough night last night and therefore am going to bed early tonight. My newly placed port is sore and I could not get comfy! But I think now I am so tired that nothing will keep me awake tonight! LOL Please let me know how the Steelers do (I grew up in the Pgh suburbs) since I will not be able to keep my eyes open to watch the game! Enjoy your evening, everyone!
