Me too! Just a quickie- but I read all post.
I just got home from work.
I will be on the magic carpet tomorrow. I will be handing out cold waters and hand held fans. Will have ice chips and chapsticks for those coming out of surgeries, and some nice turkey and cheese sandwiches for when we get the go ahead to feed you.0 -

Good Morning Everyone: I think Im still out of my sleeping and waking up schedule. Woke up late today and could have stayed in bed and slept another 2 hours. But here I am, I refuse to give up my computer time.
Colleen: I forgot that you were going to NJ. Glad to hear from you. Im hoping both you and Warren are ok today. I still cant believe it is the end of August and children are actually back in school.
SoCal: No matter how I go to work, I have to cross the Des Plaines River. Thats where all the flooding came from in my area. Im hoping today my drive will be better. When I watch television, I know things can be worse than what I am seeing here. Im just hoping that I dont have to spend 2 1/2 hours on the road again today. Chicago traffic is bad enough when things are normal.
Amy and SoCal: I cant believe it is 140 degrees there. I heard they like Slim Jims also, but then I think well that would just make them more thirsty.
Jan: Camping? Oh Im not a camper. I need a hotel room with AC and a shower. Seems like the mosquitos like my blood. So come dusk and dawn I would be hiding. I havent had a glass of wine or anything to drink for almost 2 weeks now. Im thinking that might be another reason I have lost some weight.
Sheri: OMG! I would be scared silly about your son in Equador. Maybe you can convince him to come back home. Hate to think of him walking around in a confused state. Bets he isnt taking his medication. Did Micah say why he bit someone? Usually thats a first line of defense when all else fails. Not saying its right. Sounds like your hands are full and sending lots of love your way.
CY: Im glad the scans are over. I just cant imagine the worry now, waiting til you get the results. I think all of us should stand in a large circle holding hands and send positive energy your way.
Candie: I used to work 12 hours shifts and I just hated it. Got enough time to get home, go to bed - then wake up and it was back to work. I must admit, I sure do miss the opportunity of getting overtime. Sometimes I really miss bedside nursing.
Vickie: My dad used to be a mechanic for American Airlines. When I was little, we used to get to fly for free. Forgot all about that til you mentioned your dad. Glad Sarah is home safe and sound. I laughed when you mentioned taking away DH remote. The one good thing about the power outage was he couldnt watch TV in the middle of the night.
DebC: Yikes, an abcess is scary. Im really hoping Bobbie responds to the antibiotics. Sending lots of love your way.
Denise: Once I got myself out of the "woe is me" tent, I headed right for the pissy tent. I am so darn tired of this never ending struggle. But I think I like myself better when Im angry. When I got married, my DH and I paid for everything ourselves. For some reason, I thought the groom paid for the liquor!
Suz: Just the thought of getting blood drawn in one of the chemo rooms gives me a panic attack. I was watching the Brewers and Cubs game last night and was thinking of you. They are both doing pretty good. Fell asleep in the middle of the game so I dont know who won.
Jan: I wanted to tell you one more thing. I found a lump in the exact same spot where my cancer was. I freaked out. I was so tired of feeling something in that same spot. It even showed up on an ultrasound, so I was really scared. Ended up being fat necrosis. Hoping all goes well with your appointment.
Brenda: Im laughing cause sometimes I think the same thing. Sometimes I wish I could be on medicare right now, as the cost of health insurance and the things they dont cover is overwhelming. I cant believe your surgeon did that to you. I cant imagine having to deal with bc and surgery and then be asked for money up front! thats when I think Universal health care would be beneficial. Sometimes I feel this whole health care industry is so out of line. Everything is about money, money, money. Insasable greed I say.
OK! I have more minutes then have to hit the shower. So this will be quick.
Charlene: Hoping you are feeling better real soon.
Sherloc: Good luck with the colonoscopy today.
Karen: I forget that Leah goes to school in Chicago. In fact, her school isnt far from where I live.
MargaretB: You dress sounds beautiful. I hate wearing long dresses. And who cares how the ex looks anyways.
Christine: Hoping you had a good night.
OK - Im late, Im late, for a very important date. Work.
See ya all later.

Good Morning!
I'm up and ready for the Magic Carpet! Lot's of girls need us today.....and I'm thinking of all.
Nicki: Glad you are feeling better and work isn't kicking your butt......yet!
Suz: It sounds like your appt. went well and they are just being cautious. I'm thinking the CT is today..let us know what you hear. Sending your Baby off to school..the next few years are going to fly!
Charlene: I removed myself from the Pissy tent! It was an unnecessary rant........One day I'll grow up!! Hope all is well with you and the new girls!
Sheri: WTH? I certainly wish your Son would get himself home where he belongs. Can you contact him or do you just have to wait for him to call?
Micah in trouble the first day of school..........memories are floating in my head! Good luck!
Margaret: I'm thinking the wedding is a regular formal type. Being held at 4:30p because they want pics at sunset overlooking the mountain. Being so far away and being the grooms parent, I'm confused....even though they have told me most! I think your dress will be fine.......I looked at a couple places yesterday. I'm short too and don't want a long dress. I'm looking for 'tea length'...found one yesterday that was just below my knee...and couldn't decide if it would work or not.
Deb: I can not find all the posts about your sister. Something in her tummy that has been brewing for 2 years? Hoping she is doing better and sending a hug and prayer your way.
Cy: Glad the scans are over.......I'd tell you to try to keep busy until you get the results, but you already are keeping way to busy!!!! Prayiing for good results.
Shirley: Drank all of her gunk last night and promptly got rid of it and is now going for "the test!" Good luck dear. And how is your sister doing? The one with colon problems.
Robin: Blessings to you....I haven't heard from you or seen a post but am assuming your surgery is today. We'll try to be quiet and not bug the Doc...don't want him to slip and build you mountains!
I've got to go to the dentist (my home away from home!) this morning and get the root canal from last week finished up.
Cheri: Where are you?
Hugs,
Denise0 -
Good Morning Circle girls,
I just wanted to let you know g is having complications from the surgery and has to go back to the hospital so that is why she can't post right now. I will keep you update. Sorry to always be just poping in to leave news like that.
Carrie0 -
Morning sisters,
Jumping in to let you all know I'll be by the curb for the magic carpet. I also have treats for Mazer so it will be very quiet in all of the rooms we're visiting today. xoxo
Beautiful day here is Tgirl land with the windows finally open. We had public service out last night because everyone has been complaining about a gas smell in our house. We have never smelled it, but everyone else does. Turns out we have 2 leaks! Hub put in the hot water heater and that was leaking and another pipe was leaking for a while!! No wonder we'd fall asleep so early at night. All is well now. Hub is not touching anything again.
Good luck to all my sisters and their appts / surgeries. Much love and soft kisses. xoxo0 -
Ladies, busy this morning picking up everyone who needs rides on the magic carpet. Thank goodness for wireless internet so I can read and drive.
Christine, turkey and cheese sandwiches sound good.
Nicki, thank you for the vote of confidence about the dress; it's going to be too hot there for a long dress so I wanted to go short. Hope your commute today is easier. I don't have a commute to speak of - I'm two radio songs from home.
Sheri, I would be worrying every day until I had him back home.
Denise, my SD is getting married two hours away so it's not as great a distance as yours and she has done most of the work. The florist is actually a girlfriend of mine who is a floral designer and she has a son who lives in the same town as my SD so she's giving her a great price on the flowers and then overseeing the whole flower setup from putting all the flowers around the wedding then moving them to the reception table, cake table, etc., so no one has to worry about them. My dress is right at my knee; tea-length would work well. I have a nice black one hanging in my closet but you look smaller than me so it would probably be too big for you.
Carrie, thanks for the update on Gina.....that girl so deserves a break. I think the Magic Carpet will stop in and see her today.
Anyone heard from Cheri?
Got to pay attention to the Magic Carpet so will see you all in awhile.
Margaret0 -
Good morning everyone. I haven't been posting like I usually do, I've fallen behind everywhere. I really have been a little under the weather. I'm swithching to a much lighter weight pain med so that will help alot. Those Dillaudid are excellent pain killers but they sure space me out. I could just sit and stare at the computer screen all day and not type a word. Plus when I did type or speak I didn't make a whole lot of sense. Just ask my friends that spoke with me and they'll tell you. lol
I spent almost the entire day in Springfield yesterday. I had to go see my Infectious Control Dr. He checked me out and read the last culture report and has decided I need an extra anitbiotic to go with my Vancamycin. I can't remember the name of it but my Home Infusion nurse will be bringing it out this morning when she comes to change needles and bandages. I know the two meds can't be infused together so that's a pain but maybe it'll work. I actually had my first infusion yesterday in outpatient and had to stay awhile to make sure of no ill side effects. The leg looks better but nobody knows what's really under the surface. I'm getting rather tired of it all. I go back to see my Infectious dr. here on the 4th and then back to Iowa City on the 6th.
Vickie, sometimes laughter is the ONLY medicine that works. Glad you're feeling better. I'm not gonna leave, silly girl. I can't imagine my life without the Circle. Just haven't really felt well but I'll get back to normal. I've missed bantering with you, too. You know you can always catch me by IM, PM, email, snail mail or tele. I mean, c'mon I don't exactly drop off the face of the earth. hahaha
Janny, girly friend. Where the heck ya been??? Or was that me that was missing? lol
Amy, you know we all miss you when you're not around.
Susan, you'll take the right job when it comes around. That's the attitude you must have, you are the one picking and choosing you know. Where you work is YOUR decision.Apparently, the one you really want just hasn't came along yet but it will.
Gina, hope you're feeling better. Wouldn't it be nice to just be a 'text book case' once??Everything must be so complicated.
Marsha, I'm just missing the dickens out of you! Where have you been?? We always run into each other somewhere but havent' talked to you in a few days. missed you.
Charlene, you're one of my friends that have put up with me when I've been under the influence of pain meds. lol But you've hung right in there and I apprectiate it....don't remember much of it but do appreciate it. hahahha
Jazz, come home where you belong.
Brenda, shoot. I can't be got rid of that easy. i don't intend on ever leaving this Circle. I learned who my true friends are through my surgery and I've got a whole bunch of you from this Circle and I wiil never forget you all. I'm a sticker, an old hanger-on and I really need you all.0 -
Good morning all...I've been up a while, showered, dressed, took out the garbage, picked up some limbs in the yard. Wow it feels good to have the day off. May even sneak in a nap today!
Carrie...thank you for the Gina update...tell her she is in our thoughts and prayers and we miss her. We miss you too.
Heehee...I do believe little miss Cheri is taking a few too many drugs...that or I'm seeing double LOL. I gotcha Cheri. You are always there for me...thank you for the laughter medicine...I was pretty desperate for some healing that night.
Shopmamma...where are ya?
Angel...wish I could make it all better for you. Sending you very gentle hugs. DD is not a model (doesn't even consider herself pretty)but she has a few photography and artist friends that always use her for their projects so I get some great pictures every now and then free of charge! She's more of a comedian than a model type LOL. We owned a diner for years and she grew up with truck drivers so she can banter with the best of them (and usually leave them speechless).
Hmmm...Marsha does seem to be missing. Where are you?
Seems to me that we have a lot of girls missing...whats up with that! This is a family...we are supposed to stick together.
Guz...where are you?
Jazz...well she just doesn't love us any more! Do like Cheri says and come see us.
Jankay...good morning to you. It was nice talking to you last night.
Nicki...good morning sunshine girl...hope your day is a good one. Are you feeling better?
Christine is bringing food today...she's quite a cook! Make sure to pick me up.
Margaret...you're going to Vegas! When are you going? Hope you have a grand time and win lots of money. My daughter went there on her honeymoon.
Brenda...Sarah has pretty much moved beyond the pain and betrayal. She's still up in the air about what she is going to do. I don't push it...she'll figure it out in due time. Hugs to you.
Karen...I don't have the energy and stamina any more either and I hate the SE's. Sending you a hug.
Denise! You deleted your post...you know you can be pissy here if you need to be and it's perfectly ok. Just vent away and we'll either laugh at ya or give ya a hug. Whatever is needed. Love ya.
Liz my dear...hope all is ok...you need to get rest you know. I am still hopin you can make the Florida trip.
MB...tickets today if I can find a good enough deal. Going to call the local travel agency and see if I should wait till later to get the tickets or if they think the prices will continue to rise. I'm sooo cheap LOL.
Ok...got lots to do so I've gotta run...sorry to everyone I missed...love ya all from Amy to Z.
Vickie
Peter...are you ok? Did you go get checked out? Don't be messin around with any sort of chest pain you hear me!0 -
Ok...I haven't listened to much country music since dx...just generally too sad but I heard this song the other day and cried my eyes out (yeah...you know me...miss weepy) but it said it all so well. I changed some of the words and am posting it here because I want you all to know that YOU make my life beautiful...YOU make it a beautiful ride and I know that we will all be fine...and I love you all for it.
Life aint always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life aint always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day
But the struggles make you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time.
No, life aint always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life aint always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
Life aint always beautiful
Some days I miss my smile
I get tired of walkin all these lonely miles
But the struggles make me stronger
And the changes make me wise
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time
No, life aint always beautiful
BUT I KNOW THAT WE'LL BE FINE
Hey, life aint always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
What a beautiful ride0 -
Good Morning all. I am up and waiting for the magic carpet to swoop down for me. Mazer left out early to get it started with Margaret cause she knows how much I hate waking up early, especially when I havent slept. Went to the dentist on Monday for the filling that had come out and part of the tooth broken. He refilled it not knowing if it would work but since it wasnt hurting too bad it was worth a try. Well, it aint working. I am up every 2 hours for advil. I am stubborn so convinced myself monday night that it was just irritated and the pain would go away. Yesterday was even worse and last night, oh my gosh. I have called them this morning at 5 and left a message, I need relief. Speaking of its 8:49 here so they should have already called me. ok called and she said come on now. Grrrr, I so hate dentist.
I shall return, probably with a numb mouth and drooling,,such a pretty site.
Amy0 -
Hi everyone - I sure miss you guys. Things are still nuts here but I expect them to slow down in a few days. At least I hope they do. I had my labs drawn yesterday and hopefully will find out the results later today. I usually call and the lab tech gives me the results.
I try to read each night but honestly, I am so lost. Thanks for all the hugs, prayers and well wishes.
Know that I'm praying for everyone who is waiting for tests, doing tests, having problems or anything else.
Be back when I can.
Hugs
Liz0 -
good morning friends. About ready to head to the surgery center. Just gonna catch up on this page for now. Happy first day of school to all kidlets.
Denise, why did you delete your post. I thought it was a very good pissy rant.
Suz, hope you slept better last night.
Brenda, the prep wasn't that bad. Just mixed the little 1oz bottle of stuff with a little bit of gatorade and gulped it down. Then followed it up with 20oz of gatorade to get the salt water taste out of my mouth. Did that at 7am and 7pm. The after effects of course weren't all that much fun but not as bad as I was expecting.
Charlene, the company was grand as always. Did audrey get up in time this morning?
Karen, 17 credits is a lot isn't it?
Margaret. no Ativan. I must appear to be a very calm individual. Docs never offer me any of the good stuff. The bumms. Yes mine is the doc that doesn't do the pills.
Crap, ran out of time. I'll be back later. Think happy thoughts and no surprises for me today pretty please.
Love you all to bits0 -
Ladies

I am not a puishover!0 -
ok I'm back.
Jankay you shouldnt be a pushover. You have had problems with this caregiver before and personally I think she needs a smack.
Robin-thinking of you and your new 6 foot rule.
Nicki-hope misters foot is still good. 12 days without wine, WOW!
Vickie-lets see now,,exactly what is half way?!?! My lil precious bunny would eat much less than a german shepherd.
NS-thinking of you. Man the things you keep doing to get out of taking a puppy! Geesh. Just kidding and hope everything is ok. post when you can so we can get an update.
Jan-glad you got the camper fixed. I so enjoyed having ours. We started with an older one and then bought a new one in 04 but when we bought the farm we knew it wouldnt get used as much so we decided to sell it and we can always buy another one when the time is right. I miss it but on the farm its like camping all the time.
Denise-sorry I missed the pissy rant. Its nice to know other people have them too.
Margaret-yep my nephew would love receiving things and they all share so nothing goes to waste even if its something he doesnt like.
Lisa-didnt think about the sweat band things, thats a good idea. He did request beef jerkey and I have sent some of that. I sent chap stick also. Its sad that some people never get anything over there but nice to know they share.
Shirley-hoping for good results from you today. Have fun pooting after its over with.
Liz-thinking of you and all that you are dealing with right now.
Angel-no wonder you are so tired. YOu have your hands full plus recovery.
Vickie-have fun buying tickets. I so hate to do that because I always think there is somewhere else at a better deal and then I wait and they go up.
Cheri-nice to see you popping in,,not once but twice.
tgirl-mazer loves treats so sure hope you brought enough.
Deb-thinking of you and your sis and hoping something gets figured out.
Cy-I know how you feel about waiting on scans. I have no patience for that at all.
Jan-forgot to mention your lump,,thinking of you today. its always something isnt it?
ok gotta run get some work done here and hopefully when the filling comes back in I wont be in pain,,yeah right,,who am I kidding. Cant take the pain meds or I will be sleeping at my desk after no sleep for 2 nights. boy, I'm just full of whining today.
Amy0 -

Cheri, glad you dropped in to let us know you were ok, even if you weren't feeling up to snuff. Healing hugs for you my friend.
Vickie, I was in Vegas last weekend for my girlfriend's daughter's 21st birthday and my sister turns 50 the day after my SD's wedding so she's planning her birthday party in Vegas in a few weeks - I haven't been to Vegas in almost 10 years and now I will have been 4 times in less than 1 year!
Amy, hoping my driving on the magic carpet won't make your tooth pain worse. Don't you love the numb mouth? You have to stay on top of the pain, not wait for it.
Liz, thinking of you as you wait for your results.
Shirley, the goop doesn't sound too bad, but I still like the pills.
Jankay, seems to me like your caregiver is forgetting who works for whom. There has got to be someone in your area who can take over for her. Hugs to you.
Amy, send me your nephew's name and unit info and a care package is on the way - I'll send him a note with it telling him who I am but if you can too, that would be great.
Shokk, good to see you.
Catch up with everyone later and hoping the magic carpet isn't too bumpy for y'all.
Margaret0 -
Last week when I took 4 days off my co-worker is taking this whole week off.......going on a trip with a new romantic interest.........anyway co-worker was so excited last week didn't get any work done......so up until when I just posted I have doing my work and co-workers work from last week.......co-worker left me a e-mail saying I hope you don't hate me......you know when someone wants you to feel sorry for THEM because they are afraid they have pissed you off but they really aren't sorry for their behavior they are just sorry in general.......geez.......ok maybe I'm jealous because my prospects on the dating front are lets see when hell freezes over.......my neuter dog gets more action then I do.......anyway geez I'm beginning not to even like myself and the way I sound......oh my youngest is in pre ap biology (looks like its going to be her favorite class)and the teacher keeps an aquana (sp) very large lizzard........loose in the classroom.....his name is Godzella........daughter says he is big and when ever anyone comes into class while the class is in session he literally chases them out of the class......my daughter says it is the funniest thing you have ever seen........brb.......

LMAO Shokk! Glad to see you back. I know its not funny to laugh at your life but I must say you had me rolling.
Amy0 -
My daughter says Godzilla will manage to get up on a desk and then will go around the class room jumping from desk to desk scaring everyone.....she swears it looks like he has a smile on his face.........daughter also said when the halls get to loud the teacher will open her classroom door and Godzilla will walk out into the hall and everyone starts running away......gets real quite real fast and then he will come walking right back in........just like a dog......well Friday night is the first football game and daughter will be preforming on drumline......I'm so excited I can hardley stand it........its suppose to rain but as long as there is not lightening will be sitting out there don't care how wet I get......(Amy talking about being rained on).....geez girl.......ok chicas and Peter got to get back to work.......will try and check back in later or manana.........magic carpet missed me this morning.....are there any magic pills on the magic carpet......sure could use some...................love everyone.........hey Vickie see ya later alligator...................

Sherloc...how did it go??0 -
Just have time to check in quick. I have missed so much and can't possibly catch up! I am hoping this coming holiday weekend will see everyone enjoying themselves with friends and family.
The infection seems to have cleared up and the rash has spread all the way down to my toes. The rash turns out to be an allergic reaction to the Clindamycin. A few days with benedryl and I should be good as new. The stitches on the skin flap come out as soon as the yeast infection is all gone. Then we will talk about getting an implant back in. In the meantime, I am back to weekly visits with the ps. Still tired and trying to catch up with stuff at home.
School starts next Tuesday and I am trying to get ds to finish the summer reading book and its associated project. I knew this would happen and I guess the Mall is just going to be a distant vision for a few days!
Love to you all! Saying prayers for those who need them.0 -
Happy Wednesday friends! It has been awhile since I have checked in so I do hope this finds all of you well.
I have been job interviewing this week, so I am hoping to hear by the end of the week whether or not I have a job. I will admit I have enjoyed being off these past two months.
Love, Hugs and Prayers to all,
Melody0 -
Hi ladies!
SoCalLisa...have fun reading the medicare manual and trying to decipher it! It is one of the most frustiating pieces of literature that I've ever tackled. I never did get a real good grasp on it when I was dealing with my mother's situation.
Nicki..glad that you are back to work. I can't imagine it taking 2 1/2 hours to get there. My patience would have been NULL!!! I used to drive 45 miles through the country to get to work and it only took me 50 minutes and that was pushing my max! I have the utmost respect for you city gals.
Deb..I'm sending good vibes your sister's way for a speedy recovery from all that infection.
Cy..thinking of you today (as always). The waiting is the worst.
Sheri..how far are you from Lexington? My son got a promotion and is closing on a house there in early September.
Candie, Besides ice, I also can't eat Chinese or Asian foods anymore after chemo and I loved them before. Evem the smell is now repulsive. OUCH..I can't imagine not being able to eat potato chips! :-(
Karen, Charlene, and all you others with children still in the home, enjoy them now. They grow up way too quickly!!!
Margaret...How nice of your hubby to plan that 50th birthday party for you at a time when you really needed it!!
It sounds like he's a real "keeper."
Denise..hope the root canal goes well. There's one of those in my near future, too.
HUGS Cheri.....I hope you're soon feeling better.
Gotta run.......have those errands that just need to be done!

Socal, it went well. So the doc told me. And even gave me pics to prove it. No polyps, no nothing. Just nice pink healthy colon. Yehaw, I can live with that. Now I'm bloated to beat the band (Amy, Poot? hahahahhahha haven't heard that in years), flashing like a neon light (waiting for magic pills to kick in), and trying to dispose of the cafeine (how do you spell that) headache. Don't have to have another one for 5 years. Yeah for me. But he said I should have occult blood test every year cause of history.
gonna go read for a bit. I'll be back.0 -
Glad to hear that you got good results Shirley. Did you stop and get some frames for those nice pics? Lets see would that be bathroom art? And I said poot cause I was being nice! I guess I could have said fluffer or shooing but poot seemed appropriate.
Shokk-See what happens when you get out of the closet you get wet,,,lol,,you know from the rain!
Brenda-yep we got rain last night. Hardly couldnt believe it. It actually lasted about 3 hours which is more in one night than we have had all summer. Our blue heeler aka australian cattle dog slept in with Tucker last night. To be so tough she cant handle storms.
Rita-been there done that today on the root canal. Actually much better now cause I was in so much pain. Feeling is all back in and so far so good. I'm thinking I can sleep tonight. Even having my first meal of the day, creamy chicken soup.
