Shirley, I posted this picture on another thread, but thought you might be interested in it, although I was not there it was an amazing sight and well publicized down under.

On the 11 August 2007, 13,000 people wearing pink ponchos and 100 in blue, stood in the shape of a pink lady on Sydney's Telstra Stadium to represent the number of Australians diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, the tally of funds raised has not been finalized but will be in excess of $13000, However 100% of the funds will go toward the work of Breast Cancer

Good afternoon circle. Just a quick post before I listen to my body screaming at me to lie down. I slept until 10:45 but I'm still tired.

Nicki, watermelons aer all thats left in our garden. We tried for years to grow them and never could. But little Ethan can. We don't know when they[re ripe enough to pick though. One had the dried stem and white on the bottom and we thought it was just right. Picked it and it weighed 24 lbs but when we cut it open it wasn't ripe yet. He also grew some sugar baby melons too. I can't believe he was able to grow such pretty melons and we don't know when to pick them. lol

Lini, there's no set way to post. I try to mention everyone because I think we all like to see someone is thinking of us but sometimes I'm just too tired and don't feel up to it. Post the way you want to. Just post.

Charlene, beautiful little girls. I know you're so proud of them.

Madison, you didn't have to send me anything...but It's great that you thought of me. Thank you.

I remembe Polio. My Mothers best friends son had it and he was jus a couple years older than me. He walked with the leg braces like Forrest Gump. Still does, in fact. I remember standing in line for immunizations at school and the Polio made a big round spot that always stayed on everybodys arm.

Vickie, did I read where you said you were 'frigid'? Maybe that's why you're..ahem..single. Just a thought. hahahaha

CY, hope you enjoyed your trip to the zoo...and I'm sure glad it wasn't me. lol

Well, Amber is off to meet her new boyfriends parents. She didn't even seem nervous. I was always a wreck. But they're having a BBQ today so she'll get to meet alot of them. I noticed she did dress a bit more conservative, maybe even had a bra on.I love that girl with all my heart but...damn I'm glad i'm her Mother and not some guys MOther. She will chew this little guy up and spit him out...unless we'd be lucky enough for her to actually fall for him.
Yes, Vickie, he opened the box last night and she said she could easily hang on for 8 sec. Several times.

Hey to Iris, Janny, Jazz, Charlene, Margarette, MB, Lini, Odalys, Carrie, Deese, Denise, Gus, Boo, Jankay, Liz, Christine, Donna, Brenda, Bmd, Marisa, Mena, Gina, CY, CherylG, Shirley, Sheri, Robin, Shokk, Pam and any I've missed. All have a good day.

Flying by while I'm waiting for the laundry - is it my imagination or does my laundry reproduce? I never have an even amount of socks.

Madison, I live about 20 miles south of San Francisco so I am in close proximity but we have what we call micro climates so depending on what city you are in, the weather is totally different. My weather is typically about 20 degrees warmer than San Francisco and we don't get the fog nearly as often as San Francisco.

Lisa, Nordstrom's has such a reputation of excellent customer service I'm surprised they wouldn't exchange it. I have a bra that I bought there (I bought three one day) and I hate this bra - it doesn't fit right and was thinking about returning it.

Nicki, I agree with Lisa about the new diet. This is something you have to do for life so it should be foods you enjoy eating and that you will eat. Bed, Bath & Beyond sure had their pink out today.

Brenda, haven't heard yet about the earthquake. I'll have to watch the news. Where is Vista?

Susan, we're having a heat wave right now. Too hot to do anything. At least it's cool in the house.

Cheri, my oldest SD is like Amber. Her boyfriend says he would rather go for looks than personality???? She has the ability to chew them up and spit them out too.

Peter, that was impressive, thanks for posting.

SOCAL and BMD, would San Diego have felt the earthquake?

CHARLENE>love that big smile Audrey has while sitting on the horse!

I tried to send a note to Snopes asking to pull those dang pics and it figures I get a return email saying the addy is no good!

ADRIONNA>did you get your carpet shampooed after all? I haven't had much energy to do things after two weeks of major house cleaning and am glad I did do the shampooing then.

Last few mornings have been so cool, nearly cool enough to put a jacket on (60s) but within a few hours its already too hot to be outside. So guess fall is sneaking in on us here. Finished watching all the Stargate's dvds and am disapointed in the very last show...kinda leaves you hanging. No wonder they titled it "Unending!

    What Oxi clean is.....
    3% peroxide
    Did you know that ???

This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana

'I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little old bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My husband has been in the medical field for o ver 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars.'

    1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe)

No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. (Small print says mouth wash and gargle right on the bottle)

    2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of 'Peroxide' to keep them free of germs.

    3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

    4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

    5. I had fungus on my feet for years - until I sprayed a 50/50 mix ture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

    6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

    7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

    8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a tissue.

    9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

    10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change.

    11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

    12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

    13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors with, and there is n o smearing which is why I love it so much for this.

I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner.

Send on to others who might need to know the benefits of 3% peroxide!!!

Hey, what a wasted day this has been! Carpet is still hanging out waiting to be scrubbed........bummer! We don't live in a very big town and only have a couple of places to rent the "rug Doctor." Hardware store and Kroger........Hardware store had one rented out this morning that was supposed to be back in "a couple hours" and Krogers had one but the "attachments" for furniture was out and wouldn't be back until 4p.! So decided to go look for a new bed for my dog.........I think $40 to $60 is just a way bit pricey for a doggie bed........So 5 stores later I came home with nothing! Furniture is staying where I put it all this morning until the dang carpet is scrubbed.........DH says he'll hit the hardware as soon as it opens tomorrow...!

Haven't read back but wanted to stop by and say Hi before I head to the airline sites!

    Hugs,

Jan, I was kind of disappointed in the last episode of Stargate, too. I mean, it was the complete END! However, I found out they have a couple of movies they are planning to do. I'm not sure if they will be big screen or made for tv, but they had to keep it open for that. There may also be guest appearances on Atlantis, too. I really expected to see Jack at the end, but hopefully he will be around in the sequels.

Vickie, Florida will be great. What a nice thing to look forward to.

Just a quick update on my son in Ecuador. I spoke to him via im and he's doing well. He left the guy he went down to work for because he felt he was being disrespected and not treated right. Unfortunately, he left all his stuff at the guy's house and needs to find a way to get it. He wants to stay because of a girl, but may come home if he doesn't find another job. I suggested she might transfer to a college near here. He said he will talk to her about it. Her family may not go for that, but it's worth a try. I think he doesn't want to come home and just be stuck at home again. He's enjoyed being "out there" on his own. I told him he could get an apartment, a job, his driver's license and a car and then he'd be independent. At least I know he's really ok. I still worry about his mental state. How much is real or his perception of reality? But I can keep praying for him.

I have a niece who lives in Elsinore. I haven't heard anything, I hope she's ok.

I hope all have a relaxing Labor Day.

Have been gone since Thursday when my kids arrived and you'd think it was a month. Haven't read back all the way---just too much to read and too much to do here.

Margaret---your DH barked and cried the whole time you were gone? Cried maybe but barked?

Nicki---you go girl. We know you love your DH but sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl deserves, you know? As for the bra issue---try JC Penny. I take a 42C (finally went for a real live fitting the last time theyhad a sale---think they're having another one right now, now that I think about it). They always have fitters---if you make an appointment she'll be waiting for you. They have a huge stock. I needed to be refit since the "girls" are now approximately the same size but 2 different shapes and she said she does people like us all the time. If you know what size you take try the Just My Size website----they carry all sorts of stuff in our size range---even longlines and some sexy stuff.

Liz----couldn't read far enough back to find your post but I am guessing your MIL has ended her journey. I'm carrying you and your family in my prayers---hope life starts handing you some quieter waters soon.

CY---Did find your post---that is EXCELLENT news. guess a whole bunch of sisters pulling for you works!

Angel---great pictures! I just love the little ones. As for the ovary issue---only you can make that decision. Have a fair idea what I would do but I'm 62,

Deb--glad to hear Bobbi had her surgery and things are on the mend. Isn't it amazing how everything turns into canceritis in our heads even when, intellectually, we know that is silly?

Lisa---have been meaning to mention how envious I am that you were in Cooperstown when they inducted Cal Ripkin, Jr. I'm not even much of a MLB fan but lived in Baltimore for 32 years and that is one class family and he is truly a role model and hero for our kids. Especially in this day and age of people like Michael Vick. I used to drive past his house every day on my way to work---little multi million dollar shack in the middle of Maryland hunt country.

Cheri---actually, I would be glad Amber has a tendency to chew 'em up and spit 'em out. Strong women survive in this world (notice I said strong, not tough). My daughter and I have both agreed, after experience with the former and ending up with the later, that you have to love at least one bad boy to appreciate a good man. Unfortunately, I married my bad boy but at least I got 2 great kids out of it.

speaking of whom---we had a great weekend. way too much running around to see new houses and celebrate little peoples' birthdays and WAY too short but got me all verklempt more than once how lucky I am to be here to see it, participate in it, enjoy it. Liam will be 4 in October and I have always loved that age---old enough to be verbal, interested in everything and they don't self edit much so, if you are paying attention, they say really funny stuff! Caroline is just 1 and is in the drunk stagger mode and has smushed muenster cheese into the screen on the door to the deck. They left early this morning. Sigh.

Oh yeah---I almost forgot. Onc called Friday a.m.---mammo/US report came back with no abnormalities. Two cysts are still there and I guess I'll find out what we do with them next Friday but 2 are gone and whatever weird thing the tech and I saw wasn't anything the radiologist thought was worth mentioning. Was a nervous wreck by Friday morning and today I almost forgot to tell you guys about it. The BC rollercoaster---who needs the midway at the fair?

Gotta go----no supper in sight, guess I should do something about that. Too bad dirty martinis don't count.

    Hey All

It's Sunday night, just got home from friend's beach house in RI. Was absolutely beautiful weather, but I got up early on Sat to drive down, slept on the couch (they have a houseful for this last weekend of the summer) and drove home tonight, so I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Read about 3/4 of the posts I missed, but am giving up now.

    Nicki - you OK?

Cheri - good to see you

Vickie - what's this about being baptized?

Iris - so good to see you!

Suz - will be thinking of your little guy next week

Gina - great picture of you, and the afghan!

Charlene - love the pics - too cute!

Sorry chica's, didn't take notes, love to you all...

good evening again, Sisters and Brother,
A good tired tonight at the end of a good day. I picked up Miles at his apt. for the Braves game. We met some other members of my support group at the stadium, where the survivors picked up our tshirts and some other goodies. There was a reception pre-game with 3 survivors making short, inspirational speeches. One of them was the wife of the Braves 3rd base coach and she was awesome. I am almost
3 years since diagnosis and still get so emotional hearing stories of others, and being around those still in treatment. I watched a young lady (in our group) today with her two small children take big breaths with big eyes. I touched her hand and told her it was ok. It was that reminder of what it was like to still be in treatment.
Seeing others with no hair after yours has grown back. It seems that once out of treatment, our mind tends to push those thoughts down deep into our memories. Probably a good thing.
((Vickie)) you won't believe what happened when we left the stadium today! Miles and I were sitting in the car in parking lot traffic when a DRAGONFLY flew up in front of the windshield... danced there a moment, made a circle and came back again! It thrilled my heart and Miles even smiled.
Jankay have I not talked with you today?? How in the world did that happen? I think you called this morning while I was in the shower getting ready. You have really posted some good ones lately, and I appreciate it. It was really nice to hear you and Jessica laughing last night!
Nicki...did you have to close the pool yet? It seems to me that you are becoming such a strong person. I am proud of you for making your feelings known. It isn't always easy to do that. I am also glad you are feeling better. Have you finished all of your antibiotics?
Peter, the picture you posted is awesome! Today they didn't allow family members on the field, only survivors. We all had on our pink shirts and they gave us pink balloons. We did a balloon release. It is such an emotional thing. As we walked onto the field to form a
"diamond of hope" around the bases, my eyes filled with tears. The crowds were standing, cheering for us survivors. So many of them will be in our shoes! There were several men there as well, Peter. Out of a group of maybe about 200, I saw at least 3 or 4 men.
Denise, how frustrating to have all that ready and then not be able to get a machine! My furniture would stay out of place a long time, because it would certainly take a very long time to get back in the mood.
Dear Friend Puppy, I am assuming that you are camping with Ed this weekend since that is where I know you were headed.
Hope you aren't overdoing it. But I am so proud of what the doctor said! "Stable" is a good word in this case.
Angel girl... what beautiful girls you have. I know they are the light of your life. Did Audrey have curls when she was little? Praying for you on your decision.
I have forgotten so many... but so sleepy I must crash. No wrecker phone tonight so I think I will sleep! By the way....AAA is an excellent purchase for those of you who spend a lot of time in your car. You should buy the AAA Plus and pay the little extra. If you ever go out of town and need emergency service it will pay for itself, not to mention discounts at hotels, and car rentals. Plus members get 100 miles free towing, jump starts, unlocks, tire changes, travel discounts, trip ticks... so much more. Okay, advertisement over.
Love and hugs to all from Amy to Z.. sleep well to all and G'day to Peter. Pam

Well it's going to take me an hour or two to catch up so in the meantime I'll post the following song video and lyrics ... it's a favorite of mine that helps me during the rough times.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWYRfsjBNQk

Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war (‘cause)

    Tomorrow’s another day
    And I’m thirsty anyway
    So bring on the rain

It’s almost like the hard times circle ‘round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
    Yeah, I might feel defeated,
    I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I’m not dead

    Tomorrow’s another day
    And I’m thirsty anyway
    So bring on the rain

I’m not gonna let it get me down
    I’m not gonna cry
And I’m not gonna lose any sleep tonight

Vickie, that's great that you made your reservations to FL. I'm bummed because I can't go.

Jeannie, I think that's a good thing that life gets in the way of reading here. That means that life is a good "normal."

Colleen, glad you had a good time.

Pam, with AAA the best part is getting to register cars without having to wait in line at the DMV, a pls for those of us with a lot of cars.

Got an email from Robin, see her post on RobinTN had her surgery.

Going to watch Premonition so everyone have a good night.

This grammie is TIRED!!! Kidlets have been in bed since 7:30, still not asleep. UGH! They just aren't getting enough activity to run off the energy. Took them to the park this morning but at 10:30 it was already 100F so we didn't stay long. No fun sliding down a slide that burns your butt.

Denise, as Charlene just said...tomorrows another day lalalalalalal. Hope you find a machine.

Brenda, never been in Nordstroms and from the sound of it I don't think I want to.Hate snooty stores.

    Hi Z

Nicki, a hot tub indeed. I do not like getting wet. And it wasn't gonna happen if cold water was all that was available. The Lord knows I love him. He didn't need me catching pnemonia in the pacific ocean to prove it.
Have to admit I didn't get the cow picture until someone explained it.

Susan, having a blast and wearing myself out. Mom arrives on tuesday to rescue me.

Vicki, where exactly are you going in Florida? Wish I could zip back over there with you all.

Cheri, send Ethan to my house next year please. I am a garden murderer

Peter, that is very cool. Tho not sure why you thought I would be interested in it? I sure hope the money is put to better use then what most of the fund raising here goes to. Did that make any sense. Typing in an ambien fog.

Sheri, does his visa allow him to stay down there while looking for work?

Jeannie, at least it was good smelly cheese. Mine are wearing me out with grandma can we do this or that. I always seem to forget just how much kids talk.

Glad you had a good time at the beach Colleen.

Charlene, that song is on my long list of favorites.

Time for bed. See you tomorrow.

Margaret-Vista is in North San Diego County.

Wild/Jan-I felt the earthquake while I was writing my post. We all felt it my house.

JanKay-Am I not suppose to use cleaners because I have a septic tank?

Well I am about to call it a night. Sweet dreams friends.

Denise-Sam’s Club or Costco usually has some good dog beds for around $20.

Sheri-The earthquake was only a 4.7. That’s a baby. I am sure they are fine.

Cheri-Hope you are feeling better now. Maybe even resting peacefully tonight.

    Hello CG's

Just finsihed watching the movie Wild Hogs with Craig. Cute movie.
Busy day today. Grocery store, Target, finish trying to get the kitchen ready to be painted (taking everything out of the cabinets). We are ripping off the old outdated 1980's wallpaper, painting the walls and painting the cabinets. Everything is all over my living/dining room. The painter is starting tomorrow and the kitchen will be out of commission for most of the week. I also did some baking for Rosh Hashannah which starts in 10 days. I will do more cooking next Sunday. I have been too tired to do anything after work,so need to rely on my Sundays. I made a double batch of challah, a honey cake and a nut cake (my late grandmother's recipe that she would not share with anyone when she was living - it calls for 1# of walnuts!!). Everything is in the freezer. We are invited out the first day for both lunch and dinner. I have not done any inviting and I'm afraid its probably too late now to invite anyone, but I am thinking of inviting neighbor friends who are empty nesters. If not, I will invite people for Sukkot which is the end of the month.
Tomorrow we are going shopping at the 50% off sale at Goodwill or as we call it GW. Craig wants to go early. Also looking for a new china cabinet. I bought mine in another house where the dining room was small so bought a small china cabinet. Now I have more room and more stuff and want a bigger one. Craig went on Craig's list and saw one like mine, but with 3 doors instead of two. The price is quite reasonable. Craig doesn't believe in buying new if we can get it second hand and in good shape. We have done well with buying living room and den furniture that way. He just bought a "new" leather love seat for the living room for $100 - now bad if you ask me. If I buy this china cabinet, then I will have to sell mine.
Robin - I am so glad that you are home. I sure hope that you can begin to recover and mend more easily at home. I am so sorry that you had such a hard time in the hospital and were treated so poorly.
Nicki - Leah used to call home everyday (and sometimes more than once). She now is only calling a couple times a week so I haven't heard how nice the weather is by you. Leah is happy to be back in Chicago. Classes start this week.
Jankay - always love to see your stories, jokes and helpful hints. Enjoy your pool Tx.
Vickie - hooray for you on getting your tickets to Fl. I wish I could go, but I can't take the time off of work. I do have the week off the end of October, but I am thinking about scheduling my colonoscopy and the dentist to do my crown that I need. Is Nate joining you on the trip to Fl?
Shirley -remind me how old the grandkids are. I love your term"kidlets".
Lini -my petit,4'11" DD who is 21 wears a 34 DD bra. I took her to Nordstrom last month when she was home to get Wacol bras. We were lucky that the sales clerk was helpful and nice to us. She even told us to check out the Rack - but they did not have any bras in her size, so I went back to the main store and paid over $100 for 2 bras. There never was any confusing her bras and mine even before BC. After my third, I was a 34A, then a few years ago I went on the pill for a few months to help with perimenopausal symptoms (it didn't help and I stopped after 3 months) and my boobs got bigger and went to a 34B. To tell you the truth, I wish I was still a 34A - my implants are a 34B - oh well!!
I am going to see if I can find the Wacol model Leah has on ebay - I'm sure it is much cheaper. From what I have been told, Wacol only go on sale once a year. I tried going on several web sites and they weren't any cheaper than the store. I need to check out your pink thread - will go hunting for it after I finish this post.
Angel - Ava is darling. So cute. Loved the pic of Audrey on the horse. Sounds like she had a good time. I loved your poem/song. thanks for your advise on the Vitamin D - I take 50+ multivitamins that have 1000 IU of "D" and my calcium has 200 IU per dose. So I am getting atleast 1200 IU of D/day. I need to increase my calcium, so I will be getting 1600 IU of "D"/day.
Margaret - I work in a low income school. Many of our kids have never been downtown or to many of the museums or the zoo. What about the art museum, history museum, zoo etc for the kids. I think you said you did a week of outdoor activiites, so what about a week of trips to various cultural type places?
Madison - how was your visit with your folks.
Odalys - it seems to be hot lots of places. Its been in the 90's here. I am looking forward to the weeks end when it is supposed to cool down into the 80's. We had a big rain shower tonight and it cooled off a little and boy does it feel good. I don't like the heat. My perfect summer day is 75 to 80, blue sky, light breeze and sun.
Brenda - did you have any damage from the earthquake?
Denise - hope you can find a shampooer tomorrow. One time Craig and I decided to shampoo the family room carpet - it was pretty stained so we put some bleach in the shampooer and ended up ruining the carpet - we had to have it replaced immediately as we were having company. We learned our lesson, but then again, we were happy to have new carpet.
Z - glad to see you checking in.
Peter - amazing photo - thanks for sharing.
Sheri - thanks for the update on your son in Ecuador. happy to hear that he is safe and doing okay. how long was he planning to be there? remind me - how old is he?
Jeannie - I always love to hear good news.
Cheri - We have garden plots at school and this year I decided to plant a garden. I am so bummed as it has not done well. I planted tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, eggplant and I forget what else. I've had a few tomotoes, 2 zucchini and 2 cucumbers so far. Lots of flowers, but little else. I have not yet reouped the money I spent on plants. I remember the days we had a big garden when we lived in Ohio and I had more zucchini than I new what to do with. My garden always did well. Not sure if I want to do one again next year. The only thing that has grown well are the weeds and grass in the garden. Ethan must be thrilled with his watermelon.
Wish I was closer to you to help you out - or just vist and keep you company or prepare a meal for you. The infusions sound like quite an ordeal. You are one strong lady. Hope you are feeling better soon.
The CG seems kind of quiet this weekend. I sure hope everyone is off having a good time. Hugs to Cheryl, MB, Mena, CY, NS, Christine, Guz, Rita, Tricia, Liz, Shel, Amy, Denise, Pam, Iris, Colleen, Puppy, Lisa, Deb, Vickie, Denise, Wildjan, biker, Marissa, Beth Shokk, Marsha and anyone else that I might have missed. Wishing you all sweet dreams and feel good days. Hugs from Denver, karen

I took a nap from 3 - 7 today ... holy cow I haven't slept so good in a loooong time. I had muscle spasms out the ying yang and took a muscle relaxer so that helped. Karl got Ava up from her nap and I woke up to a new york strip steak and buttered brussel sprouts dinner ... Yummy! I could go for more Sunday afternoons like this one.
Thanks to everyone regarding the pictures of my angels. They really Are the light of my life and I am so proud of them.

Rita .. Nice to see you pop in.

Madison .. Boy, I hope the migraine is gone. Not fun. Are you the passenger or the driver while you're typing on your blackberry??

BMD .. Boys who Want to go to the library ... that's awesome! Did your rash go away?

Denise .. Such a small gesture to make someone's day like you did the BC survivor. Good for you! That would be my luck regarding the scrubber. Need to do it when you have the energy and ambition! I'd leave everything right where it is too until I got to do it.

Gina .. Looking at you it's hard to believe what all you've been enduring! You look Fantastic! Beautiful seeing you with your afghan and scrapbook!

SoCal .. Had to laugh at your comment about the new usage of the word "issues". Several years ago there was a big stink between some of my sisters regarding that word!

Odalys .. Love your Pink Ladies pic, what a movie, huh? I hope your arms are feeling better and that you had a nice nap.

Cheri .. I can't do much so I try and give Audrey some special times to treasure. Some kids do so much all the time that they take it all for granted (like Devon). Audrey appreciates each special time. Not that I wouldn't want to do more, but you know what I mean. There's a fine line.

Nicki .. Stop drinking wine? Get outta here!!! You might as well stop smoking! All I know about South Beach is that my sister brought a box of peanut butter protein bars that I Love! Very perceptive of you, my mind Is made up to have the ooph done. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place but as Denise said, I think it's the lesser of two evils.

CY .. I hope you enjoyed your day with the grandkids and at the zoo!

Shirley .. Hmmm, that's a good question, I wonder if they could do the ooph when they do the exchange surgery? It's on my list to ask, thank you. Leave it to you to get baptized in a hot tub! Very cool! As far as handling the young kidlets on a daily basis, sure you could ... you'd just be a walking zombie like I am! LOL "I always seem to forget just how much kids talk." .. that cracked me up! Just yesterday Ava said "Why" to me six times in a row and I thought, uh oh, here we go! I think it took Audrey two years to grow out of that annoying stage although she is still rather inquisitive, which is a good thing!

Pam .. Hugs to you my friend. What an exciting and emotional day for you. Audrey did have curls but not as many as Ava does. If Audrey's hair was wet and in pigtails she would have these adorable long ringlets. Now it's just slightly wavy. One of my sisters has very curly hair naturally so we'll see what happens with Ava!

CherylG .. Nice to see you.

(((((Cheri))))) .. The boards went down when I was in the middle of posting. Luckily I was just reading then. I use Notepad and wait until I see my post before closing notepad. It's understandable why you're on edge. I'm glad you've got some nerve pills to help you out. Other than making all the friends I've made here, Cancer hasn't done one good thing for me either. I didn't need it to make me appreciate life. I hope you'll still tell us about DH and cheeseburgers when you're feeling up to it!

Margaret .. You have a lot of cars? I know you said your DH breathes cars .. is that his profession?

Jankay .. That's great that you're getting more PT. You don't want that to stop.

Vickie .. What a beautiful dragonfly picture. Oh my, busted in the car window .. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself! I hope things are going better for you. I'll smoke that cigarette for you.

Lini .. Wow your foobettes are 34DD? Aren't you smaller than you used to be? Your feelings aren't silly, it's completely understandable how frustrated you must've been. I saw your pic on the other thread and you know how people often look different than you imagine but you look just as I thought you would .. and you're very beautiful!

Liz .. You're in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Donna .. Boards have been up and down today. Enjoy your boating, how fun!

Z .. Nice seeing you pop in too.

Susan .. Thank you for your kind words. I'm actually a Virgo. Denise mentioned that if Shirley and I are "anal retentive Virgos" she was wondering what she would be as a Gemini. So I posted the info for her. My Karl is a Pisces, as is Shirleys husband and Nicki, Cheri and Marsha.

Peter .. Very cool picture .. nice knowing 100% of the funds go to breast cancer research.

Sheri .. So happy you talked to your son in Ecuador. Try and get him to stay in constant contact with you!

Jeannie .. Thanks. Glad to hear two of your cysts are gone. Hope you get good news on Friday. "who needs the midway at the fair?" .. that's just priceless! You describe the grandkids well. LOL at the drunk stagger mode and smashed muenster cheese in the screen! Who needs TV when you have children under 10? They're entertainment enough!

Colleen .. I hope you enjoyed your trip to the RI beach!

Karen .. You just reminded me that Karl bought Wild Hogs a couple of weeks ago. We don't get much opportunity to watch movies but I'll have to remind him that we got that. Be careful with the Vit D though .. too much can be dangerous. You really should have blood work done and be monitered to see what your current levels are. D3 is highly recommended over D2. Sometimes you have to look hard to find it listed on the back label on the bottle. Also, does your doctor know you're taking multi vitamins? Some vitamins can interfere with other meds. You sound so busy all the time. Maybe that's part of why you're so tired too!

Well, I think that does it for me tonight. Time got away from me and the board going down in the middle of me reading didn't help any. Pleasant dreams to all from A - Z. Happy Labor Day.

    Love & Hugs,
    Charlene

You know when I'm feeling like I just cannot possibly do this something comes from way down deep inside and lets me know in no uncertain terms that yes I can do this.
And I come here and have friends to talk to me and make sense and I know that I am safe and loved. If you all dont mind I think I'll throw my bedroll down in the middle of the circle tonight. I need the warmth.

Good Morning Everyone: Being a nurse, I have had to work many Holidays. Always worked Labor Day cause it just didnt get me excited and it usually is cloudy and rainy. I sure am glad I have off today. This whole week-end has been very nice here in Chicago. Today my DH and I will go to my SIL for a BBQ - I really cant remember the last time I got out of this house and did something so I am looking forward to it. I really cant believe it's September 3rd already! No sunshine here yet - each day it takes a little longer for the sun to come up. Thinking in a month it will be dark here at 7AM! I think that is the thing I will miss most about Summer. I do love the sunshine!

For those of you who have myspace accoutns and sent me messages. I forgot all about the fact that I had the account and now I dont know how to retrieve or answer your message to me. So if you sent me a note and I havent answered, its cause I dont know how!

Susan: Wow! It was good to hear from you. I was beginning to get worried. So lets see - did I miss something. Did you get a job and if so, what are you doing. Drinking and the truth? There is that old saying. "Drinking makes a fool out of many and a liar out of none." In fact if my DH wants to spount off his mouth again to me - Im gonna tell him to come back when he is sober! There is no doubt in my mind that this Mangostein stuff is making my hair thicker. I dont know why, but it is. I rmember last year when some quack came on these boards and tried to sell it as a cure for cancer. Man we all jumped down his throat. I looked at the ingredients. It has apple juice, pear juice, cherry juice, then apple puree, pear puree, cherry puree, blueberry puree, strawberrgy puree - oh I know Im missing some. There were about 12 juices listed. If I had to pay for it - there is no way - but since my SIL is giving it to us for free, Im gonna keep drinking it. Cant hurt me thats for sure.

Vickie: Going to Florida sounds like so much fun. Im with Cheri - I dont get to go anywhere. Another get together sounds like it will be a blast, and I do think you need and deserve to get away so I hope you have a great time.

Cheri: Its funny about watermelon. When I was a little girl, I planted watermelon seeds, ended up taking over my dads whole garden. I was so proud of myself - that I took these seeds from a piece of watermelon that I ate and watched it grow. Before it came time to pick them - a frost came and that ended my watermelon experience. I bet Ethan is having fun watching them grow. I wouldnt know when it is the right time to pick a watermelon either. Im wondering if you pick it and let it ripen first? Im laughing my arse off this morning with respect to your "frigid" comment to Vickie. Hoping Amber had a nice time meeting her boyfriends parents BTW - Shawn Michaels has me drooling this morning! I must say I feel so deprived. You write a frustrating post and deleted it before I got to read it. Ha ha - I have done that many times myself.

Peter: That picture of the pink lady was awesome. Really makes ya realize how many actually do have bc! Heard on the new thats Sidney is in a big security lockdown shall we say. Our President Bush and other presidents from other countries will be meeting there this week. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Margaret: Its funny. You went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I stopped at a place called Bath and Body. They didnt have pink stuff and I just about choked when I saw their prices. I did see lots of Halloween stuff though! Wont be too long that we will be seeing Christmas stuff too.

Wild?Jan: Good to hear from you and hoping you are enjoying this Labor Day Week-end.

Jankay: I love the peroxide post. Its funny cause my dentist told me that mixing peroxide 50/50 with water would work just as good as a mouth wash than buying the biotene which is so expensive.

Denise: Im sorry, but Im laughing picturing you chasing "the rug doctor" down the aisles of stores. Hope you catch him really soon.

Sheri: Im glad you heard from your son. I still vote for getting him back into this country. At least in the States you would have some control if he gets into trouble cause of his mental health status. Have been dealing with my little brother for years now. Their excuses can be pretty darn good.

Jeannie: Its good to hear from you too. Sounds like things are going well. I did go to JCPenny's the begining of Summer and thats how I finially found out what size I am. That is also where I got my new bathing suit which looked pretty darn good. I have a gift certificate I have used yet, so I may just check them out again.

Pam: After going 3 1/2 days without electricity last week, the pool got all green cause there was no filter running it. So we decided to close it a little early. Normally we would close it the second week of September. Im finished with my antibiotics and feeling 99% better. Still have a slight twinge when I take a deep breath. My chronic cough is totally gone! So I think I never did get over my last cold and it finially went into pneumonia. Next time I get a cold - Im going right to my PCP! Your description of the events at the ballpark gave me goose bumps. Hoping you had a good nights sleep and enjoy the day.

CherylG: Waving at you and saying hello. Hoping you are enjoying this week-end.

Colleen: Good to see a post from you. I am ok! Just a little confused is all - but my mind seems to get clearer each day.

Charlene: Loved the video. Nice touch so early in the morning. Im not giving up wine - Im just gonna cut down on it. I was having 2 glasses of wine eahc day when I came home from work and Im thinking that is why my triglycerides were elevated. So Im saving my wine for the week-ends! With regards to smoking. The tootsie roll pops are not working. After I finish a whole pop, I want a cig. I truelly think I am hopeless.

    BMD: Good morning to ya

Karen: Leah probably hasnt called you cause things are hoppin here in Chicago. The weather is as good as it gets. The CUBS are in 1st place and the Bears just finished their last preseason game and are getting ready for some real football. Lots of festivals still going on. A wonderful time of year to be here, especially if you are young and just enjoying life a bit before school starts.

OK! I promised myself I would do some sort of exercise today besides walking. Gonna try to keep up with one of the exercise shows on TV. Im gonna check out seeing a dietician this week at my cancer center. My mind is still all confused when it comes to what foods I should be eating. All I know is this week-end I have consumed more candy than I have since chemo! So thats gotta go. I did eat a whole bunch of grapes last night with my wake up hungry. Havent done that in a while either. Snacking on fruit should be fairly easy.

Have a great morning and I hope to check back later.

Sherloc: Ya gotta watch me. Sometimes I get crazy with my pictures. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time with your grandchildren.

Shirley - hope the g-babies finally fell asleep!

Cheri - missed your deleted post, but hope you have a better day today. You are always so up and positive, so I can imagine it is extra hard for you when you're feeling down. Hope you felt the love last night in the circle, and that it helps a little....

    good morning all!
good night Peter...sweet dreams to you.
Hey sunshine sister Nicki...I did get dunked in the creek. So did Nate...it was pretty amazing actually.
Cheri pal...you park your bedroll in the center with our other girls that are there right now and we'll take good care of you. Ask and you shall receive.
Colleen...geez...up and disappeared and had no idea where you went LOL. Good to see you.
Pam...big hugs and lotsa love to you. I'm glad you saw your magic again. Love ya.
Ok...I am missing about everyone but Diesel has figured out what food is and he is not happy that I haven't mixed his breakfast yet...whining and drooling all over the place. He's so big his head is level with my kitchen counters! He's really well behaved though.
    I will be back.
    love all around

Colleen: Not working today, just recalling so many Labor Days that I did work.

Vickie: I cant believe you got dunked in a creek and so did Nate. Im with Sherloc, I would have asked for a hot tub.

Wild/Jan: Great pictures. Still cant believe that whole 911 thing happened.

So what has happened to Jasmine and Marsha? Hope you are both doing well.

OK! Hahahahahaha - I turned on this program called Performance enhancement. Its a cardio exercise routine. I did 6 minutes out of the 34 and had to stop. Out of shape? Well I guess so.

Wild/Jan, wow those pics are amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Vickie, I've marked the dates you and MB are coming to Florida on my calender. That is 2 weeks after my surgery so am hoping I will be healed enough to at least watch you guys dance on tables.

Amy, my surgery is Oct 1 and NO I am not reconstructing at this time. (Lord, especially after reading Robins' nightmare in the hospital) I think I'll just enjoy being flat chested for a while. Might decide I like it who knows? I'm a small person anyway. Not sure how the radiation on the right side of my chest will effect recon. Maybe I'll head to Nordies and ask to be fitted hahaha Ask for a 34 AAA with alot of padding.

    Robin, Geez.... hugs girlfriend.

Liz, sorry to hear about your MIL.

Deb, hope your sister is doing OK.

Shirley, you are so right, I've never been normal so why start now? BTW What a great haunted house you could have with all those bats.

Cheri, I missed your deleted post. I surely hate that. You've got to get better now since we are all coming to your house for the next Pinkstock.

Pam, I watched the Atlanta Braves game yesterday (well OK the first part of it) and thought about you.

Denise, this is Labor Day weekend.... you know don't do any labor???? I am wore out just reading about you.

Donna, a mouth full of money? LOL

Charlene, your girls are awesome. How sweet. Karl is a Pisces also? I think Nicki and I have birthdays together. Mine is the 4th of March and I think hers is the 3rd? Two fish swimming in the opposite direction pretty much describes me to a tee.

Hey Sheri, how is the new school year going? Gonna be up your way somewhat in a couple of weeks. Mom and Dad have a (luxery) houseboat rented on Dale Hollow Lake. The whole family is going, this thing has 6 bedrooms, a hot tub (I've already been Baptized, Sherloc you hippy you) and a slide for the kiddies. My brother is bringing his two jet skis. Just hope your weather holds out a little longer.

Speaking of weather, it is hot as hades here. And SO humid you can't breathe. Going to a pool/bar b que party in a bit. My friends who are caterers are having it at their house and NO ONE misses their parties!

Thanks to all who commented on your experience with the SNB. Since I don't have a tumor to put the dye near (well I don't hink there is one) then I guess it goes in the nipple. OUCH

CY just wanted to say UNREMARKABLE sounds like fabulous news to me. Shrinking, smaller, unremarkable all words we love to here. You are such an inspiration to us all.

Gina, sorry to hear you missed a chemo and will now go into November. Who did your surgery? Please not the palate guy! I think I saw one of my squares in your afghan!

Susan, are you sure you can't come to Florida with Vick and MB? I think the two of us might could just get into trouble.

Well I am leaving out many I know. It is so hard to stay caught up with everyone and post at the same time! Odalys, Tricia, Elaine, Sue?Boo: looks like we got company coming! Hugs to all, have a great day gals. Marsha

Thanks girls for the bra support (pun intended). I told my mom about the incident and she thinks I should call the store manager since they pride themselves on service. I think the service is only for those that use their big credit limits.

Shirley - Did I read somewhere that you are a grandmother. No way, you look far too young.

Charlene - Enjoy your baby girls for they grow up far too fast. She's beautiful, just like her mom.

SoCal - Nordie's would have taken that bra back if I were returning. I thought that was their policy no questions asked on returns. I would have gone up and down that pecking order until someone took it back. Oh, that sounds like the me that should have been there Saturday. I am making that phone call.

BMD - I think that I may have heard the quake while making pasta salad, but thought it was one of the guys in the house hitting a wall or something.

Nicki - Ironically I was listening to the "Bring On the Rain" song that Charlene posted when I thought of the "I'm not going to let PINK get to me this year" thread. I'm going to let it get me down.

Vickie - If I would've known that you were buy us plane ticket to Florida for Pinkstock 2 I would've gotten on board. LOL! Have you defrosted yet?

Margaret - The problem with my size is that they mostly only make underwires. There are only a few w/o wire styles and most don't come in black. My daughter is coming home next weekend so I think I'll make some phone calls to VS out her way and perhaps she can pick them up for me. I guess I could order online but don't feel like paying the outrageous shipping. Come on how much can a bra weigh?? It's based on sales amount not weight. BBB, reminds me that I have a pink silicone heart shaped pan from there that was a Christmas gift of which I never have used or will likely never use. Do you think they'll exchange for something else??

Karen- If I could wear underwire I'd be in. Anybody have any idea if you ever get to wear underwire with implant reconstruction??

Charlene - Foobs measured 34DD and the bras fit perfectly. I'd been looking for weeks trying on everything but a 34 band. I was a 38D-DD prior, but also 25 pounds heavier. No way are these like real DD, more like a very smallish, hard C. "Looking as if you imagined me can be a good thing or a bad thing as I've had many a post misinterpreted." LOL!! Thanks for the compliment. I guess not to shabby for a just about 50 year old w/o boobs or hair dye, and completed a couple of the most stressful years ever. They say some stress is good for you, but I'd like a calm, boring year for my 50th. I guess that would be 51st. YIKES!!

Last but not least for a personal mention, Cheri - Whew!! This is a lot of work and note taking. You're good, as are many others here. You're right, it is nice to see your name mentioned and comments replied to. Thanks for always including me. You are a sweety and very special. As Nickie said previously this is the place to rant or cry, sing or brag, or whatever. So if you feel like ranting, RANT, RANT, RANT. Are you still in the center, sweety?? You stay there as long as you like.

And now I'll give this a try for the first time… To all my other sisters from A-Z (hey, I like that), I hope that it's a good week for all.

I'm sure that I probably forgot to reply to somebody or mention something that I should've, apologies for that.

    lini

P.S. Forgot to mention(told you).. Wild about horses ~ that truck is awesome. Can you imagine how much is invested into that paint job??
