Hello everyone. Slonedeb, I am here. Just haven't posted much cos I don't feel like I have anything of great importance or significance to say. I am so sorry for this recent news about the tumor on your sternum. I hate that you are in such difficult pain. A good question from luckywife above.... do you have oxygen at home? You are a portrait of such strength and courage. I hope you know how much we care for you and how many prayers are said for you daily.
Good to see you popping in and out, Nicki. Hope your foot is doing well and Chicagoland is a good place to be today. I have never been to Chicago, but hope one day to visit there.
DebC.. I so admire you ! I know it is difficult for you now, but you never forget to think about others and encourage them, Know we all pray for you so much and pray for only the best for you!
A lot of new names here that I don't recognize (or more likely my chemobrain forgot), so welcome if you are new, and if you aren't, just a big old hello from Georgia today. I have my eyes peeled for Valerie... where are you girl? Auntie Puppy needs to pop in as well. Nice to see Odaly and {{Neesie}}. Sheri.... are you frantic, or ready for school to start tomorrow?
Wishing you all a day of dragonflies and rainbows. Pammy

Pammy - I'm here- can you see me waving??? Just too darn busy at work lately plus DH has been hogging the computer at home.
How are things in Georgia country?? I've been meaning to tell you I saw my friends that move to Lawrenceville last year. They love it!! They won't be moving back to NJ anytime soon. Hey is it true what they say - when a Southern calls you Mam'am (sp) it really means they are calling you stupid? lol.
Love ya sister,
Valerie

Good afternoon dear sisters,
SloneDeb, I don't know you but I you are such an inspiration. I can only hope that if I ever find myself in your situation, I will be as uplifting, caring and gracious as you are. You are in my prayers and His hands. May He hold you very, very close. Lots of love.
DebC, I imagine the fireweed blossoms are near or at the top of the stalk, indicating the coming of winter. I still have some fireweed jelly I made several years ago using the blossoms. I gave them away for Christmas the year I made it. Everyone love it. I am still bummed about not being able to go to Victory this summer but look forward to being up in Fairbanks next summer. Maybe we could get in contact by phone or something then. We'll see.
Took the team to the PS yesterday and she was thrilled w/my progress. She removed the breast drain but leg was still putting out too much liquid. Probably will come out next Monday. She said she had never had a patient that was wide-eyed, laughing and making jokes in recovery after a 10 1/2 hour surgery. I'm sure those pain meds helped.
Having a problem sleeping on my back; found myself on my side Sunday early AM so now have to put pillows on either side to keep from rolling over. Have to do this for 4 weeks for proper healing of the breast. Absolutely hate it but at least the steriod injection I had the Monday before the surgery is making it reasonably comfortable, otherwise I think it would have been very, very difficult. Biggest problem is staying down because I feel so good. Apparently one of the problems with this surgery is post-op healing of the leg. The skin surrounding the incision can break down and can cause the healing to really go slowly. Staying down helps it not to happen, so it is very important to do so.
Saturday is the big Dream Cruise where those of us who have classic cars (1969 Plymouth Road Runner) and those who like to look at them get together on a 10 mile stretch of Woodward Ave., running through 5-6 different communities. Everyone drives up and down, admiring each others beautifully restored cars. Our car club has a site reserved in Pontiac, at one end of the route, for us to park the cars when we are not cruising. I plan to take my recliner and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been told is expected.
Well, this is the second time I have typed this since the computer did something with the other one. I need to get my 'snack' and antibiotic. Thank you again, to each and every one of you, for your prayers and good thoughts and for keeping me in the center of the circle. This is a very special group of women and I feel blessed to be part of you. My love and prayers are with everyone. May God keep each of you safe in His hands.
In His Hands,
Wendy

slonedeb so glad to see you posting. I know you probably don't feel like it, but we love hearing from you. I hope you are aware that hundreds of prayers go up in your behalf each day here. I asked God this morning to ease your pain and I hope he does.
DebC a big hug to you. Did I tell you I have always loved your avatar? Love those feathers and I love you. Your courage and strength are such admirable qualities. You are such an encouragement to all of us. Know that you are in the palm of God's hands. And when you can't see his hands...trust his heart.
Busy at work but just had to check in for a minute. Hope you all have a great day. We had some much needed rain last night and this morning. The grass is already greener! Love and hugs to all. Pam
P.S. Aunt Puppy... sure am missing you. Hope you can check in soon.

Yes Valerie,
It was 10 1/2 hours! It was the longest surgery I have ever had and this was number 22 & 23 if you count the leg & breast separately. I have been absolutely been amazed at how well I feel! I keep waiting for the shoe to dropl My drain amounts from my leg have really been high today so I will be surprised to hear what the PS says tomorrow AM. I have felt fluid in the breast as I have be massaging the hard spots. It feels really weird. I'm hoping she is going to say that it will just take time to absorb and that she won't have to take a needle and withdraw the fluid. Ouch! I hate needles. If I am putting out too much from the leg, it will force me to stay down. I think DH is hoping for 'something' to keep me down. I just feel way too good. I absolutely believe it is because of the total prayer cover I have had. The PS even acknowledged that she had never seen a patient recover as quickly as I have, from recovery room to last Monday when I saw her.
Thank you for keeping me in the center of the circle and for the hugs. This is such a special thread. I have felt so loved and blessed, by women who are walking the same path as I am, and yet in many ways,in different shoes. I feel like some of us have soft moccisins and others have shoes filled w/pebbles. Our job is to lift the sisters up with pebbles so they don't have to feel them.
May everyone get a perfect nights sleep and awake rested and refreshed in the morning. My prayers are with those that are hurting, in body and/or in spirit. May God hold you close to Him and may each of you know just how very much you are loved. Take care.
In His Hands.
Wendy

Wendy, did you have breast tissue made from your leg? That is so cool. I have heard of that before, it is very cutting edge.
I am so glad to hear how well you are doing!
Big hello to all in the cirlce!

{{{Gina}}} How nice to see you in the circle! Thanks so much for showing us yourself. It is always good to see you.
Wendy, congratulations on doing so well after your surgery. I hope the healing continues in this manner! We will, of course, keep you in the center of the circle. I liked the comment about the pebbles in the shoes. I feel like I have walked on pebbles so long that the soles of my shoes are made of pebbles! It has helped to make me walk taller and be stronger. I am hoping I am strong enough to help others.
Where is Aunt Puppy? Girl you need to pop in and say hi. I am beginning to miss you something fierce! I pray all is well with you. Tell Ed hello from me.
Valerie... the Allman Brothers... boy does that take me back to...... "Doraville.... a touch of country in the city.... Doraville...it ain't much but its home....." I actually stayed in Doraville one summer when my brother was living with some girl up there and I babysat her daughter. Funny, the things you remember. Enjoy the concert!
MB.. have you recovered from Pinkstock? Oh how I wish I could be a part if there is one next year. I will be an empty nester for real next year as my son is getting married in June. Maybe it will work out.
Odalys... don't see you here today.. Guess you are busy at work with monsters all around. My monsters are out of the office for a moment but will be back soon so I better make this quick.
Sheri, hope your second day of school is going well. I know when you get into the swing of things you will love it. I wish my kids had had as many dedicated teachers as you seem to be. My youngest girlchild (by love, not blood) has her Kindergarten class for the first day today and she is so excited. Her first year she taught PreK and then 5th grade and now she is where she wants and needs to be. Big hug to you dear, cos I know you will be tired this afternoon.
Kinda quiet around here. Slonedeb, just want you to know that we all love you and continue to lift you up in prayer. Remember God is with you and He loves you so much. Praying for freedom from pain today.
I have missed many, but not on purpose. Know I keep you close in heart. Pam

Hello friends. Work keeps me busy with little computer time but I'm always thinking of you. Checking in on all the sisters in need. I brought with me a pic of the campfire we had at Pinkstock. It's a great night for sisters to just gather around the fire and give each other strength and comfort.

Good Evening All,
Odalys, what a lovely campfire. don't need any hot chocolate tonight at this end of the circle. A good tall glass of ice tea for me, beer and coolers for any who want them.
So good to see Gina and MB, haven't seen you guys for a while. I agree, where's Puppy? Hope you are doing well. I understand you had surgery recently and are still recovering, I pray it is going well.
Slonedeb and AlaskaDeb, I have been holding you close in my heart and my prayers. DebC have a great weekend with your family, write when you can. I was glad to see the positive half of your results and hope the spinal fluid chemo knocks dead any cells that are lurking there. Slonedeb, hugs and prayers that the new regime does the trick. May our God, who loves us, keep you safe in his hands.
Nicki, where are you? Did you break an ankle at some time, I must have not read back far enough to get the full story but have seen hints that you are having some issues with walking and balance?? Hugs and prayers.
Wendy, WOW, what a long surgery. And how wonderful that the recovery is going smoothly. Don't overdo it!!!
Have missed many but you wonderful ladies are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Good evening ladies. Just a short post as I am at my friend Vicki's using her computer. It is funny when I tell her about you all, she asks about you and prays for you too. Friends, I finally spoke with Puppy today. She is really struggling emotionally after the brain surgery. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. She asked me to tell you that she loves you all very much and misses you.
Slone deb I am glad to see you checking in and I am sorry you aren't feeling so hot. Hoping you feel better tomorrow.
I have had the day off today and don't feel like I have accomplished a thing. I did clean off a bookshelf and dusted. Made it to the grocery store and bought Miles and I some groceries, and took some flowers to the cemetery. Being off made the time fly by.
Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. pammy

Ms. Z how in the world can I thank you............you took my 11 year old daughter that wouldn't speak in public...........and taught her about passion, dedication, hard work, and how to be the best she could possibly be..............you also taught her 48 year old Mom those same lessons so late in that Mom's life.................how can I thank you for all those hours you spent teaching middle school kids life lessons that many adults never ever learn?.......Those 12 hour days and Saturday's to make sure a group of 12 and 13 year olds played as well as any professional orchestra........how do I thank you?.............where do I begin?..........My heart is breaking today.............I am selfish.............I know you no longer are in pain............there are kids tonight that are openly weeping..........boys and girls.............many of these kids will continue your legacy..........many are in college right now training to become music teachers..........they know the money sucks but that is not why they will dedicate their lives to teaching young people how to play........it is because of you Ms. Z................because you taught them that if they do something they love it no longer is a job but a passion..............this small town middle school will celebrate your life on Wednesday.............a small town middle school that has won two state championships and a World Championship in Chicago competing against middle schools from around the world...............my daughter will be attending college to study to become a Performance Musician................because of you Ms. Z..............I will miss you more than you will know...............and thank you from the bottom of my heart...........Kim's Mom0
