Hi gals,
I've been running all over the place this week. I don't want to waste one minute of my good week because next Friday it all starts over again. UHG!
I'm really bummed out about Elizabeth Edwards and the return of her cancer so soon. I know this is happening to hundreds of others every day but the publicity makes her case so visible and serves as a reminder that this horrid disease is unpredicatble. Does anyone know anything about her early diagnosis?
Great graphics, as always Nicki.
It sounds like everybody is doing pretty well this week. That's what we want to hear and we want that to continue.
Hey, Laura, I can't ever imagine you looking like Laura's most current graphic. You're way too young for that look!!!!
I'll be back later.

I had too many glasses of wine last night...that's why I look like Nicki's graphic! LOL Gosh, I remember doing the same thing...racing around like a maniac the week b/4 the next infusion. Is next week #3 or 4? I think EE's original dx, was IDC - fairly large tumor, don't know the exact size, she had neoadjuvant chemo - lumpectomy - 4 or 5 pos. nodes, I assume radiation...there's more info in the Moving Beyond forum.
Have a great weekend!0 -
For those that missed the interview this morning on Good Morning America with Marisa - the founder and president of bc. org, here's the link:
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=29753820 -
Wow Laura, thanks for that site. I wasnt able to see it yesterday. Lots of interesting information there in addition to Marissa talking.
Rita: So many of us have been touched by EE and her husband. I still cant believe how strong and controlled they both were during the press conference, knowing that inside they were feeling scared and overwhelmed with this new diagnosis.
Last weke-end was wild. This week-end, my plan is to stay in my Pj's and just relax.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning ladies. I slept in today and didn't even feel guity about doing it!!!
Laura, this coming Friday will be #4, the last chemo before rads. I'll still have 2 more chemos after rads if I elect to do them.
We're heading for Joliet later this afternoon for the Argosy and I expect to win a handful of cash! Before we go, I am going to clean off a few flower beds in anticipation of the spring flowers that are already poking through and run some books to the library. Last night we went to the cinema and saw Wild Hogs. Hey, it won't win an Oscar but we laughed the whole way through it. If you need an hour and a half of pure entertainment and "escape," go check it out.
Nicki...enjoy your lazy weekend. Sometimes we need that!
JanClare, Wendy, Moonsong, and Ginny......we haven't heard from you recently. How's it going???
Well, I'm off to start the day. Everybody have a great weekend.

Hey Everyone,
I have been doing pretty good this week. Just that yucky taste in your mouth and it makes your food and water taste
weird. By Thursday my taste buds were back. Yesterday was
a bad day for me emotionally. I cried on the way home from work. The reason?? I felt ignored at work. My one
cube mate spent all her time over at another cube talking to another person. No one comes and talks to me. Even when we leave at 5pm, no ones says you ready to go or wait for us. Even my friends don't call me. I have to call them to update them on how I am doing. My husbands friends
always ask my husband how I am doing...I know they are thinking of me but gosh darnit call me..That's my pity party for myself..
Rita....maybe I will see on Friday. I have to have a Neulasta shot that day. What time is your appt. or I could come sit with you since I don't have to work that day. Let me know.
Also, I have an appt with the lymphdema therapist on Monday. We will see how that goes. Then my coumadin levels are messed up due to chemo. Geez..I just can't catch a break....
Ginny0 -
Im so excited. My deep purple crocus bloomed today.
Nicki0 -
I'm here! Sorry, I've been trying to catch up with my husband's office work, plus going to various doctor's appointments.
I'm still badly swollen on my right side where the lymph nodes were taken, plus my right arm (which is not swollen) really hurts on the underside, but my doctor says this is normal for some patients, that the swelling should eventually go down and the nerve endings under my arm should settle down soon. He doesn't think it's lymphedema at this point. He did write me a script for physical therapy, to start in another week.
Is anyone here going to the Chicagoland Day of Sharing? http://www.dayofsharing.com/ It's tomorrow! I forgot I signed up until just yesterday. I'll be there- if anyone else is going, I'd love to meet you!0 -
Wow! This is about 13 miles from me. Didnt even know it was going on. Might just think about checking it out.
Nicki0 -
Nicki- I hope you can go! I just noticed that there's not much info on the website, but they have a nice day of programs set up, including two keynote speakers, a luncheon, different seminars, a fashion show. The lady in charge, Mary Sue Fidale, works out of my hospital and she told me (before I had my surgery) it was okay to just show up on the day of- but I went ahead and signed up. It was 20.00, which includes the lunch. They also have vendors there selling BC products.

Spring is in the air. Now if it doesnt rain, I may just go for a walk today.

Jan - Nicki-
I didn't know about this. What time are you going?0 -
Hey Laura, Im not going. Didnt have enough time to prepare. Gonna spend this beautiful day here at home with my husband. Maybe go for a walk and reflect on whats gone on with me the past 2 years.
Still trying to absord what has happened to Elizabeth Edwards. Also reminding me that Mayor Daley's wife is in similiar shoes.
But I look at both of them. Such good role models. They are so strong.

We're going out in our convertible today (top down)!!!!

Hi Ladies,
I hope you all enjoyed the lovely spring weather today. It was beautiful here and I worked in the yard and cleaned a few flower beds. I was really tired when I stopped.
Ginny....I have the blood tests at 10 on Friday and then it's usually about 10:30 by the time I get hooked up. One of my bowling friends has volunteered to take me and keep me company, but I really appreciate your offer. Do you need somebody to keep you company on Thursday? I am available and would love to do it.
Hope everybody who had chemo this week did O.K.
Glad to hear from you again JanClare. You just keep right on improving!!!
Oh...we did get to the Empress Casino in Joliet on Saturday. Unfortunately I didn't win my handful of cash but we had a good time and I never take more than I'm willing to lose. I played a long time on my little stash!
The place was packed to evidentally others were tired of being cooped up over the winter, too.
I hope tomorrow is just as nice as today. Hang in there gals.
Rita0 -
Rita...that would be great. Did you just want to meet there? I have blood tests at 9am and then 9:30 I go back.
With the kids on spring break ,my mil is not able to go
since she has to watch the kids....

Hi Neighbors,
Hope you're all doing well. THIS WEATHER IS GREAT...wish it was here for good!
Jan -
Did you go to the conference? If so, how was it? Is your pain/swelling any better? Hope so.
Nicki -
Let me know when you'll be at the Diamond Lake bar. Maybe I could stop by. It's literally 10 minutes from my house.
rita - kats - kitties - everyone -
Have a great evening!0 -
Had the last rad today!!! I'm off for two weeks (come back to have my skin checked). Three months and see the rad onc. Of course, I'm doing some things I've put off, like having my teeth cleaned. My dentist probably forgot me (and my hairdresser).

Congratulations! Doesn't it feel great! I remember walking out the last session - I felt like jumping up and shouting! Good job!0 -
Wasn't today wonderful????? I worked in my flower beds and got energetic and did some spring cleaning in the master bedroom.
It's good to see everybody in such good spirits. Wendy, when is your next treatment? Ginny's is Thursday and mine is Friday. Hopefully the weather will stay good and keep us "fired up" until then. It's hard NOT to enjoy a day like today, especially after our long winter.
Hello to all of you...kats, mary, laura, nicki, and all the rest. Hope you all have a good evening and a great Tuesday.
