Morning! Yay! Temps are in the double digits! It's a balmy 12 degrees in my neck of the woods! lol

bj - It's amazing that your level is only 33! You spend lots of time in the sun. Imagine if you didn't - what your level would be. I'm looking forward to having mine tested again...to see if they've risen at all. My guess is that I will probably be upping my daily D3.

I recently had a heavy metal urine test done. One of the metals showed a very high level. I have to research it and figure out what it's all about. Next month I also have my f/u Thyroid test done. I am so happy to be off of the Synthroid! My guess is that the test will come back favorably.

Connie - The fact that your wrist healed so well - is a good sign. And yes...me too...had another "episode" of that annoying boob twisting/burning pain the other day. It's so creepy/awful! lol BUT it's great to know I'm not the only one...whew!

Budder - My insurance policy allows for 2 proths bras per year.

    ----------------------------------

Need to get my caboose to the "Y"... chug, chug...lol Have a nice day!

Buddy... My dr did silicone, because of it's more natural feeling.  I can tell you, that they are way softer then they were with the TE's.  I had a double mastectomy so I had them both done the same way.  As for proths, I don't know.  Sorry.  I think a second opinion would be good to get before you go throught the back flap.  My PS said that it is hard to recover from, and would be hard to handle with small kids.  You have some home with you if I'm not mistaken.  Hope you get some answers.

Good Afternoon....the lull before the storm.  Winter's barely getting started and already I am sick of the cold!  The snow is OK...it's this ridiculous freezer we are living in!  Even my SIL in Fl and her family...it's going down to the 20's tonight...and they are S of Cocoa Beach!  Crazy stuff....at least we are tough midwesterners and can deal with it....we just don't like it!

Susan......what a surprise!  What a kind and thoughtful friend you are....and what time and thought went into your "little" surprise!  I will pop it in later, when I finish up in the bsmt...that will be my reward for cleaning up Christmas!  Thank you so  much...

BJ....LV?  Again?  Don't you ever work????  OK...only kidding!  And I think with all this snow coming our way that your flu clinic just might be canceled.  Does this mean you will have to stay home??????  I would be more than happy to take your place...on the plane that is!  I WANT MY BEACH!!!!!!!!!  I only take 2000U of D3.  I will ask about having my levels done when I have my yearly px on the 25th.

Budders....well, that is GREAT news!  You have perfect lumps!!!!  Can't help with the rest tho....but the girls here will give you the best advice.

Connie....sure you don't want the S. King book?  You might get snowed in!  Glad your wrist has improved so much.

Jo...nice to see you posting again!  You know...I was at Joe's in Schaumburg for lunch in early Nov and I think you were there with your family!  At least I thought MAYBE it was you...and since I didn't want to make a fool of myself I didn't come over....I did that at my new gym, talking to this girl....I was so sure she was one of the checkers at Jewel!  She said it was refreshing to have a stranger be so nice and friendly....and I said don't you work at Jewel?  And of course, she didn't!  We still talk all the time and laugh about it now.....duh...chemobrain!

Laura....it's 23 on my deck now...the warm before the storm I guess!  And you have to have a little butter with the steamed b. sprouts!  I use the spray-on I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and just a smidge of sea salt.  I can eat the whole bag!  Yum!  The beets you can keep......Yuck!

WendyTY...congrats on the new job!  We will have to work on Apple to fix it so we can post on our iPhone's!  It does everything else, including I see an app that will remotely start your car!  Don't see why we can't post on a forum.....

Jackie....I will be more than happy to send you some of our snow.  Just let me know!

New gym is working out great, really progressing well and I am happy about that.  Even been going on Sat and Sun, weather permitting!

DW dinging so need to empty that....will catch up later with all the rest of you.  Have a safe day tomorrow driving....

Wendrew - Right about now, I would love being in that gorgeous little log cabin that you posted a while back. Glad your new club is working out. Good for you! I know...beets are not liked by a lot of people. Trust me...I don't say "YUMMY" everytime I eat them! lol lol But I'm happy I can atleast tolerate them.

DH and I are going to watch The Amazing Mr Ripley it came today via NetFlix. We've watched quite a few movies so far. I will hate it when he goes back to work. Sniff, sniff!

Susan - thank you so much.  I sent you a PM.

Buddy - I sent you a PM with my ps's number.  I also remember him telling me that the back surgery could cause some muscle issues with my arm.  Good luck!

Someone at work today told me that there are 70 days until spring.  That doesn't sound too bad!

I'm late but need to add a huge thank you to you Susan.  What a thoughtful and quite beautiful thing to do.

The note was quite moving to me and I must admit I was very misty-eyed as I am now when I got to the part where you talked about Fitzpatti.  I did not get the pleasure of talking to her or even reading her posts, but did get to read things other said about her and do recall ( I think it was Wendy ) that Wendy ?? was copying the posts everyday and sending them to her so she could keep up.  I know she had a shinning spirit because she is so "well remembered" and I often feel she checks in here -- keeping an eye on those she held dear.

Again....what a fantastic surprise and how moving.  I think I will be finding some "real" enjoyment listening to those songs and knowing it was you who chose them.  Many are big favorites of mine which I'm sure will end up with a much deeper meaning after tonight.

I did not get around to my mail until 10:30 tonight so was not sure what the others were really talking about.  What a stunning way to start 2010.

Warm hugs and a million thanks.

It sure is pretty outside! My forest looks like a big snow globe. Hope you're all warm and off the roads. I have a training class this afternoon...would rather stay home. Hopefully the roads will be plowed by then. Don't want to be "slip sliding away"...

CONNIE - I heard on the news that many roads in Aurora are closed due to hazardous conditions....yikes...

Be safe - get home - and stay at home!

Well my vacation has been postponed for at least a day.  Although I am happy to be home and not stuck in Atlanta.

Rita, Looks like you are back in business.  I saw that at least part of your drive was clean.

Wendy, I think we need to figure out how to get bc.org to create an app.  It would be soo nice.

Jackie, Did you get snow?  I hate that my ferals have to endure the cold.  Sometimes I let them in the house.  But...I'm not sure it is good for them.  I am always amazed at how warm they are on cold sunny days.  One of mine curled up and slept in a ball on the hot tub cover this afternoon.  She was all snow covered.

Thanks everyone for the congrats and support.  I am so glad to be heading back to work again.  Stay warm.

    Good morning!

The lane is clean enough this morning to get out.  One neighbor did a little of it late yesterday afternoon and good ol' Dave did all the rest when he got home last night so I can get out!  Actually, I don't have alot that I have to do today until dinner time when we're meeting the golf group for dinner so I might just walk the lane later to the mailbox and continue to bum around here.  At least I know that I can get out if I get cabin fever!

Yesterday I finished Tailspin by Catherine Coulter and started Jodi Picoult's Handle with Care.  It started out pretty good but I think it's going to be another one of her tear-jerkers.

I hope everyone who had to get out yesterday handled the roads and the crazy drivers and made it home without any fenderbenders.

Sorry that your plane didn't get off yesterday, Wendy.  Hopefully all will go as scheduled today and you are right.  It is better to be stranded at home than in Atlanta Airport!  Have a great time.

    Catch you all later.

    Rita

It's a SNOW DAY here in Peotone.  The kids are happy.  I remember those good ole days.  I am staying home too.  The only place I need to go is to the Hen House to get eggs.  Even the chickens dont want to go out.  We keep it about 30  or 40 for them.  Stay safe.

No Scool day for Crete Budders!!!

Yesterday i had the most incredibly exhausting and painful joint day that i ever experienced. IT was like a flu but it was not. This conditon of fibromayagia is progressing and now that i am being tested for this and hormone imbalance etc, i am holding onto that as i am learning that the sleep disturbances have alot to do with this and am needing relief. I am feeling discouraged as i try and try to push forward and do not want to be in this depressive state. ALL I know is, i never would of imagined the aftermath would  be this challenging.I am sooo grateful though to now have  a natural DR who says can help me. Sent in my saliva and urine test to their lab of choice and then go for a central nervous system test that will say alot  and includes serotonin level and my disgestive tract as interestinly enough, all contributes to fibromayagia and this auto immune contdition.

Hope ALL are safe in this weather. My DH is suppose to leave for Tucson tomm as it is a start to see where we would look at places to retire to ,when the time presents itself. How about tomm i think for i need warmth lolol..   Am staying here and work when i can.

Thanks for being here ladies and ALL the best to Juliet and et al!!!!

    Hugs,

    Donna

WendyTY - Have a nice trip! Hope it's nice and warm there.

Budder - OMG - you have chickens? Wow...

Donna - I feel so bad that you have to deal with this! Did you talk to your new Doc about doing some detoxing? I can't help but think that maybe if you could get the chemo toxins out of your system...it might help? Also...when I had the joint pain - hot baths really helped. And try adding natural sea salt to the bath water. Hang in there...geesh...like you need all this, right?

Morning all....More snow and then more cold.  BUT...I did see a 34 in the 10 day forecast!!  YAY!!!!!

Donna...I am so sorry to here that you are dealing with all this joint discomfort.  Maybe DH should stay here and YOU go to Tuscon (Tucson?  How the heck do you spell that anyway???)

Laura...glad you made your class safely.  I stayed home yesterday and I again skipped the gym this am as DH said roads were very slippery and the plows had yet to find our subdivision.  I have what I hope is my last appt. with the retina specialist and I drive right by the gym so maybe I will dress accordingly and stop on my way home IF I don't have to wait terribly long for the eye doc.

Rita....glad your lane is open!  Terrible to be stuck in the house.  I don't mind staying in house but I hate that stuck feeling!  And thanks for the FB info...I want to be the "cool" auntie!

WendyTY...hopefully you are on your way this am!  And YES!!!!  There needs to be an app for bco!  I think I will send an email suggestion!  Good thinking!!!

I have worked my way thru our master closet, the office drawers, the office shelves and boxed up all the Christmas stuff.  Spent the last few hours up here in the office, going thru all the receipts from 2009 and organizing everything.  I want to start the taxes next week so hopefully I will be ready to send them to the accountant by the time I get all the tax documents.  Then after I do that "little" chore...I am going to tackle all the drapes/curtains/blinds.  I figure if I start the spring-cleaning early, maybe spring will come early????  Maybe????

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!  Looks like no more snow this weekend, just cold!

Wendy your a busy woman.  I bet your house is beautiful.  Thats a great idea.  I think I will do the curtains also.  I have been cleaning things out too.  I hate clutter.  My family teases me that I am the opposite of a horder.  I throw everything away.

Donna  Its so great to hear from you.  I am so sorry to hear you have fibromalgia????spelling..  How long have you known.,  Did the Doctor just test you on his own from sysmptoms or did you ask.  Is there a definitive test for it.  What exactly are the symptoms?  You poor thing.  You have been through so much.  It sounds like your Doctor is amazing

I did what is called a Corporal Work of Mercy and it backfired.  I took care of a teacher's baby who had stomach flu because I NEVER GET THAT and she has no more sick days, does not have tenure, and her DH is out of town  on business and the daycare said, "Your problem" (which it is).  It all looked like I should have stepped in.

I have  spent the last 24 hours so sick.  I just ate an oyster cracker and I am hoping it stays in.  As my DH would quote Cousin Eddie, "I gave the gift that keeps on coming."  Sorry to be so graphic.  I just need someone to take care of me right now.  My cat knows something is wrong.  She keeps staring at meYell.  Paul will be home early .  I think young moms have it so hard now.  I was able to stay home with my babies and not worry about losing my job.  Life is so much harder for young people, I think!

    What is an app?

    Hi all,

Been  a rough two days here with our snowstorm and my coming back to work after two and a half weeks off.  Extra everything to do.  Also a little extra at Maggie's.  In the meantime -- we are still working on our shower st home -- we have hot water...just isn't coming through the pipes like it should.   It is always fun to get your more interesting problems when it is cold and nasty out.

I have lots more to say but am going to wait til' I'm home -- at the ofc. and never know when I will have to give up the computer.  I am thinking about all of you though -- most especially Donna and Susan.

    Warm hugs, Jackie

I hope you girls realize that I don't request prayers TOO often. So...I have to ask for your prayers tonight. This request may seem miniscule...but my dearest little Shelby is taking the entrance exam tomorrow morning to hopefully be admitted to the Catholic - all girls highschool - near her home. This school is an alternative to the gang riddened public high school in her district. This will be a huge financial burden for Shelby's family but contributions from me and dh, as well as Shelby's other aunts and uncles will make it possible. I simply want her to experience a solid, structured high school atmosphere. So...please pray that she will do well tomorrow. Thanks girls!

Hi everyone....don't know how much sense I will make.  It has been an interesting couple of days.  Wednesday night was fine though quite cold.  During the night it snowed.  About 3 inches with some drifts.  I had to be to work Thursday morning and got the pleasure of being first out of out lane.  Not too bad there -- but a slow crawl to work.  Highway was not yet cleared so it was a long two miles into town.  Got permission to feed the feral cats at noon.  Involved finding buried dishes after wading through drifts.  Guess who suddenly didn't mind the $36.00 boots from Wal-Mart.  They sure saved me in those drifts.

Driving was a bit of a thrill but I have made it.  Who'd have thought that I had never driven in snow before we moved back home 12 years ago and now I barely give it a second thought.  Anyway, had to go to Maggie's for a bit after work and help her a little.  Also tonight -- then home to take care of my group.  Glad I'll get to sleep in tomorrow.  So -- WendyTY --- yes, I hate sometimes that the ferals must be out in the elements.  Several of ours have some shelter -- Maggie left small dog houses and they have lots of straw in them.  There are a few though that hole up in old buildings -- ones that we can't get into -- or we could maybe make some warm areas for them.  Still, they do seem to take it all in stride.  I am sure they definitely appreciate not having to forage for food in the weather conditions we are having right now.  Not sure how much they would find if they did --- so hope yours are able to find an area -- maybe a place where several can snuggle together.

Best run.....I will get goofy in a bit as I'm wearing out now that it's approaching 10 p.m.  Long day for me.  .  See you all in the a.m.

    Hugs,  Jackie

Juliet - I hope your scans turned out well.  It's really great to hear that you have such a positive and strong attitude. Sending you a big *hug*.

Wendy - Where do you work out?  I know you are somewhat in my neck of the woods.  I always wish there was a closer place for yoga or pilates classes.  The Bart. Park Dist. has classes, but the times never work out for my work schedule.

I've seen The Hangover a few times.  It cracks me up!  Sometimes I just want a no-brainer movie that makes me laugh.  Having Bradley Cooper steaming up the screen in that black dress shirt is just a bonus. Wink

I've also seen Avatar and the new Sherlock Holmes movies recently.  Really enjoyed both, although the 3D glasses for Avatar were a bit uncomfortable after a while.  Still, amazing film technology that I'm glad to have experienced that way.  Sherlock Holmes is more of a Robert Downey vehicle than hardcore Holmesian.. but it's very entertaining in terms of laughs, action and some smart writing.

Laura - Best of luck to Shelby!

Jackie - My Lily cat who we adopted this past June, was found in a field as a tiny kitten by some of my daughter's friends.  She was a cute, fuzzy little thing.  Here we are 6 mos. later, and it's become very apparent that Lily is a Maine Coon, or at least a good part of her is.  She's HUGE and gorgeous.. and HUGE!   Laughing We love her to pieces.

Donna - I am so sorry to hear about the joint pains.  I had them so bad when I was on Aromasin that I simply could not take it.  I started crying one day when I was out shopping with my mother because I was at the end of my rope with the throbbing pain in my hands and feet.  My onc took me off the Aromasin, gave me a Medrol (steroids) pack for a week (heaven!), then switched me to Femara.  I still have aches and pains, but not to the same degree, or maybe I've just gotten so used to living with them that they don't bother me as much anymore.

Speaking of Femara.... I've had this pain in my chest every since I had the flu at the beginning of December.  There was a cough too, but it's quieted down, however the chest pain was increasing.  I finally dragged myself to my internist on Monday, assuming he'd diagnose bronchitis or asthma.  He examined me then sent me the hospital for a stat nuc. med. lung scan and a chest x-ray.  Because of the Femara, he wanted to make sure the chest pain wasn't from blood clot in my lung.  I hadn't even considered that!  I was there for hours into the evening, but long story short, both tests were negative.  I'm being treated for asthma now with inhalers and Advair.  It does seem better, but still not right.  I'll see him again on Monday.

On top of that, I finally got my follow-up Dexa scan done a few days ago.  The results were... not so great.  My t-score dropped pretty significantly from last year and I'm now borderling osteoporotic.  I was borderline osteopenic last year.  Cry  I did see my onc. today and he wants me to do the Zometa infusion, twice a year.   On the one hand, I'm glad because of the studies showing the decreased recurrence rate for those who do Zometa (or Reclast), but on the other hand,  I can't help but be freaked out a bit by the risk for jaw necrosis.  Everyone assures me that the risk is very small, but it's still a concern.  I need to get myself in for my dental cleaning first, and I'm way overdue!  I don't want to risk needing any major dental work done after I start it.

I'm not just posting complaints. Cool  In about 2 weeks I'm going on a short cruise with 5 of my coworkers.  I cannot wait!    AND, I decided to bite the bullet and put a deposit on a Mediterranean cruise in the fall to celebrate both mine and my husband's 50th birthdays.   This one is tentative depending on a few pieces falling into place, so I'm trying to not get too excited yet (although I'm failing!).
