Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!! I need some advice.

Ok ladies - it seems I either have the stomach flu or food poisoning. I have been puking with the big D since yesterday. Stomach cramps, gurgling stomach noises. No fever though. I am day 7-8 post my FEC chemo, so I know I'm pretty susceptible to infection. With the lack of fever, though, I'm confused. My thought at this point is to wait it out and see if a fever develops, since you can't really be sick without a fever, right?!? Any words of advice? I am procrastinating because Santa comes tonight for my 5 still-believing children, and the thought of being in a hospital and missing that puts me over the edge. :(

Jackie we both live in ILL and see the weather differently--boy are u happy--good for u--It's not bad but not sunny and feels chilly. But at least there's no snow with everyone drivin all over the place. So for that I'm thankful.

Nicky read what Lago said.I think it was triple Positive????

I hope everyone feels well to enjoy u'r families   for the holidays.

Merry Christmas to all you lovely Illinois Ladies! Thinking of you, and wishing you all a beautiful day with friends and family.

Jackie, so great that you have your DD with you! I was just catching up with the news on the boards this AM, since everyone here seems to be sleeping in today.

Celebrated DH's 75th birthday yesterday with son and one DD. The other DD arriving Friday from NYC where she is a nurse who cannot get Christmas off. So this celebration is extending over New Year's Day. Well, you can't have too many birthday cakes, right?

Merry Christmas everybody! Sorry, been away for a while. I've have been busy with radiation and family visits. Two more radiation treatments left.

Quick question, how long do I have to wait to color my hair that is coming in whiter than I anticipated! Not ready to go without a scarf or wig with the grey and white that has come in the past month.

Any experience you have would be appreciated. Thanks

    Grace--

Congratulations on the approaching end to radiation! I'm sorry I don't know anything about the haircolor question, but my totally uninformed guess is you can color it any time now. Let's see if others have more experience with this!

Grace my hair came in more grey and black. (I have brown hair) At 13 weeks PFC I dyed my hair and went topless. Not sure about color but my real texture started to come in about a year later. Probably took about 18 months.  Congrats on ending rads this week.

Grace:  Congrats on ending rads this week.  My rads ended on 9/7, and got my hair colored on 9/4.  (no ammonia--I think she used a "Chi" dye.  It's semi-permanent, no bleach.  My hair came in salt and pepper, mainly pepper.  Very bland, black color.  I felt so much better about myself after I got it colored.  Actually, went topless permantly on 9/15 about 2 1/2 months PFC.

Just lost my whole post.....better learn to be careful  It is lovely out my office window.  Snow coming down.  Ron left for work and got 7 miles from here before the car spun around.....facing home, so he just thought it was a good sign to come back and call in which he did.  They have a Toyota Celica...front wheel drive and it is not a great car for this weather.  Anyway......it is a picture postcard snow---estimated 4 inches out there now and is will be awhile until it stops.....so it will be a very nice snow.   Blizzard conditions so it is hard to tell with the little drifts all over just how much is there.

I did not have to color my hair.  It did come in gray at first, but then a few days later the pigment returned and I've yet to need hair color.  I think I have my dad's hair genes.  My grandmother and as well he did not gray until very late in life.....past my age of 67 and then it was gradual......hoping here.  I do have a bit in the back but as I don't see it.....its not there.

I hope you all have a wonderfu, wonderful Dec. 26th.

    Hugs, Jackie

Good morning ladies... Thanks for your insight. I was hoping no white/grey would return, but not to happen. I'm thinking I will try to color this week, since I have this and next week off to see how it looks. I want to go topless, but my head and neck get so cold because I was use to long hair!

Have a fabulous day, stay in for those in the wintry weather.

Graceembraced - My hair came back predominently white with a little black as accent.  The white was very fine and curly, almost peach fuzz for a while.  I didn't try dyeing it, too many allergies.  Now 11 months PFC it's an odd mix of textures, bone straight to nicely wavey.  Salt and pepper like before, maybe a bit more white.  I keep it very short because of the weird combo of textures and it's thin on top because of the AI.  May have had the same textures before, but it was very long, so I can't tell.

But I say dye away.  It's only hair and will get trimmed.  My DD wanted me to dye it purple, I declined.

I'd do purplish brown… but I might land a corporate job. Unless it's google it could be a problem.

How quickly we forget!  Last year I was afraid of crowded restaurants, theatres, etc.  I remember longing to be able to one day see a show or a concert.  And here i am, a year later and I just take it for granted!  You will too, next year.

    This too shall pass.

I haven't had a cold in over a year (when my white counts were still a little down because of Herceptin). I'm fighting a sore throat now. Have no idea how I caught this. Must have been the movie theater on the 24th. Momto7 I never got sick when I was on chemo (but I did have nuelasta). I waited till I was done. Ended up with shingles then 2 colds in 6 months.

Had a great X-mas.  I knew it would be with my family here permanently.  It is all I could ever want. We have about 4 to 6 ins. of snow here and pretty cool temps.  The sun should be out today at some point ( oh, there is a God ) which I will surely enjoy.  We are not due from the sound to get much better some freezing rain tomorrow maybe.....wow.  That won't be great.

We are not having last yr's warm all winter, winter though.  This is actually more normal....but I think we could still have 'some' surprise with the global warming thingy.

Hope all your holidays were merry and bright....and hope your sore throat dissapears Lago.

    Hugs, Jackie

Thanks ladies! Just finished my last radiation treatment today! Really burnt and peeling from my armpit to what used to be my cleavage, but it will heal.

So glad I can begin the new year with only every three week Herceptin treatments. I will feel like I have my life back.

Just watched "Living Proof" with Harry Connick Jr a lifetime movie about the breast cancer drug Herceptin. Cried my eyes out with my daughter, it was so good.

    Now to watch something funny!

Best to you all, have a great weekend too

i only caught one cold during chemo.  A man in front of me in the plain was coughing and blowing his nose for the whole trip so I was sure I would get it.  Sure enough I was sick for almost the whole 3 weeks until the next infusion.  My husband caught the cold too but was well in two days.  Proof positive of what a healthy immune system will do.

Congrats Grace!  It's onward and upward from here on in.
