Doxie, Congrats on being done. I am still putting off that final step since I just had another exchange surgery a few months ago. I want to make darn sure that everything has settled before adding tatooes. Just do not want the target moving ....you know what I mean. It sort of looks to me like I should have some fat grafting again to fill in the ripples first.
Still sleeping on the aerobed downstairs til the repairman comes back with the part to fix our upstairs A/C. We are headed out to Seattle on Wednesday for several days to visit our DD and family. Can't wait for some refreshing Pacific air. This humidity is getting old.

Congrats Doxie! Yay! Love hearing stories of more gals being done with surgeries/reconstruction.
Just wanted to put a message out there about lunch on this Friday. Let's do lunch at Cotto A Legna in Geneva.
This Italian restaurant has good appetizers, pizza and pasta! If it's nice we can sit outside too.
It is located right accross the street from the metra station in case anyone wants to train over for lunch. Let's meet at 11:30am. Please PM me and let me know if you plan to join us so I will know what size table to get. Everyone is welcome!!!! Hope a lot of IL Ladies can make it!!!

Beautiful Monday morning....sure there is a joke somewhere about Monday mornings. Joan, I hear you about the humidity. I can take plain heat and deal with it easily as I bet you can too, but walking through a hot damp sponge while trying to do things doesn't get it for me either. I think we are losing a bit of our humidness as we had a big storm Saturday night -- sent most lg. creeks over the banks and into the fields in a couple hours and then a little more last night. The temps will cool down too. Hurry is what I'm saying.
mdg, your restaurant sounds scrumptious...wish I lived a bit closer.
Great big hi to Rita....glad to see you back here.
Wishing all a great Monday whatever you do.
Peace and love
Jackie

Human beings are parts of the whole called by us a universe—parts limited in time and space. They experience themselves, their thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of their consciousnesses. This delusion is a kind of prison for us; it restricts us to our personal decisions and our affections to a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

I think I may have had this quote before. It is a good one though. Saying hi to KJ and hoping things are going well. We are still warm here but the humidity is at tolerable level. That makes me happy. Hi to Adey as well. Of course, I think about everyone here, every day because I come to put the quote in. Also a hi to those who don't post much now -- like Pat, Jan, Michele, Connie and a host of others. You may be sort of out of sight....but not out of mind.
Hoping all have a teriffic Tuesday.
Love and peace
Jackie

Reminder-lunch Friday at 11:30am at Cotto A Legna in Geneva. Anyone else want to come and join us??? Send me a PM if you can come!
0 -
I just love Geneva but it is a drive for me. I can see why we have these "regional" lunch dates as Illinois is one long state! I may come if I get my act together. I know so few of you as I am from the "orginal" aka "older" ladies. If not, have fun!

Wish I could but I'm working. Just remind everyone to sign up for the Illinois Ladies Strides Walk team. So far it's just me & invisible. Doxie said she's planning on signing up too.

Add me on the "wish I could come" to lunch this Friday, but I will be out of town. Have fun without me!
Lago... I think the walk this year is the last weekend in Octoboer?? That's my birthday weekend and we are usually at one of the kids homes (one coast or the other) then. Will see what develops this year.

Joan I totally understand but I still hope you can make it. ACS will understand too since they are the official sponsor of more birthdays.
But remember just because you can't attend the walk doesn't mean you can't fundraise in your name and be part of the team.

I had no pre-op tests and it did seemstrange to me. Not even a test to see what blood type I am! I asked the surgeon and she said that the possibility of my losing enough blood to need a transfusion was remote but anyway there would be time to test while I was on the table. It seemed very strange to me. I suppose when it comes to cancer, you have to have the surgery no matter what.

Whatever our individual troubles and challenges may be, it’s important to pause every now and then to appreciate all that we have, on every level. We need to literally “count our blessings,” give thanks for them, allow ourselves to enjoy them, and relish the experience of prosperity we already have.

kcshreve I sent you a PM this morning.
Timbuktu that does seem odd unless you had some of those tests recently. Even for my deportation this past November I had to do a blood test. Before my BMX it was blood test and chest X-ray. I remember the gal doing the X-ray was so excited because it was at the end of the day and she usually gets difficult people. Difficult meaning big people that don't fit on the screen.

Was that at Northwestern lago? It constantly amazes me how arbitrary these decisions are. My surgery was at U of C.
What is deportation?
0 -
Tim- I think Lago means her port was taken out. She's still inn Town.
0 -
No it was Rush. "Deportation" Ha ha. I mean when my port was removed. They haven't deported me back to Boston.
