Good afternoon everyone.  I'm busy this week with my two youngest grandsons.  They keep me hopping.  We're seeing Turbo in about an hour and then hitting a few yard sales on the way home.  Busy, busy, busy!

Wish I was closer so I could join you ladies on your lunch outings.  They always sound like so much fun.  Glad that you can get together!

    Joan, enjoy your trip West!

Jackie, thought of you this past week when we went by your turn-off on the Interstate to go get the boys in Sikeston, MO.  We do need to find some time to get together again.  Maybe we can do that early this Fall.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Hi Ladies!

Long time no post!  Waving to all the newcomers.  Sorry you're eligible for membership, but at least it's a nice club.  :)

I'm another of the oldsters, and although I don't post a lot anymore, I often think of all the wonderful ladies I've met here and the support I've had.  Take advantage of the wealth of information and sincere support.  As time goes on, you'll soon enough find yourselves in a position to be offering support to others.

Even though I'm technically an empty-nester now, life has been busy!  My DD graduated from college in May, and we decided to make a family trip out of taking her to Europe for a study-abroad program.  It happened to coincide with our 30th anniversary, so it was extra special to celebrate it, in Rome, with both of our grown children.  We also visited London (for the first time - <3), and Florence (where she still is).  What an amazing time it was.  Not to sound maudlin, but for me, one of the few "good" things that having cancer has done is made me even more appreciative of life's moments, especially the time spent with my loved ones.  But, I am 8 years out now, and I know that's not the same place everyone is, or gets to in their own journeys.  Sending wishes of strength and hope to everyone still dealing with treatments/surgeries/etc.

I can't believe there's a luncheon in Geneva tomorrow!  Normally, I'm off on Fridays too!  Unfortunately, tomorrow I did switch with someone and have to work.  Bummer! That's so close to me.  I'll have to try and make the next one.

    Have a great weekend!

You made my night Rene.  We had similar diagnoses and to hear about your life, so full and busy, is the best medicine! Thanks for sharing and be well!

Waving hi to Rene !!!!  Wonderful to hear about the trip to Europe and how extra-special for celebrating #30 as well.  Also that it will begin your taking on the ENS ( empty nest syndrome ).

Also wonderful that all here get to hear such a great message about the beautiful continuation of life.  It does go on.....and it can be so close to as good as before.  I think of the saying " Living Well Is the Best Revenge " but meaning it in a special way.....of never allowing yourself to not be all you can be and take from life all the good things it has to give.

I thought of you just a couple of days ago......so not completely surprised that you were moved to post after a long absence.  Deeply appreciated and enjoyed .  Hope life just keeps up the wonderful flow for you.

    Peace and love

    Jackie

Busyness and medicalness, more later.  Happy lunch to those who made it.  Cami and I bailed, boo.  As you can tell she is a sweetie and freakin' amusing too.  Too many pages to read so please assume applicable responses!

By being honest with yourself about what you believe, and then acting on that principle regardless of what others might think or say, you promote an inner peace that gives you a strong sense of worthiness.  I encourage you to examine your thoughts carefully in all areas of your life, and identify where you are not in harmony with your actions.  Then work each day to bring about more of a sense of inner congruence that meets with your own personal standards.

    LIFE-FORCE = elan' = energy and enthusiasm.

Good morning.  What a great Sunday morning.  Broke records here for the overnight and early morning temperatures.  Very cool this a.m. in the 50's.  Hard to believe we are this near to August.  The summer is rushing ahead....hope it slows just a little.  It has been a really nice one so far.  Nothing like last yr.

Every day is really a gift but it is nice when those gifts are enjoyable a bit more with pleasant weather and happy events.  Hope you all have a really wonderful Sunday.

    Love and peace

Adey...so good to see a post from you!  :-)

Rene...It sounds like you've had wonderful trip.  Like you, I have found that bc has made me more aware of the precious life moments that I once took for granted.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

Jackie, we sailed by your exit on the Interstate again.  It seems like we're always rushing by to pick up kids or make timed trips.  One of these days.....I'm just going to pull off and look you up!

My cholesterol shot up also while on the Arimidex.  The good news is that it did go back down once I got off of the pill.  However, there's always that little problem of what to do in the meantime about the cholesterol since we're often talking years.

c-squared...we need to hear all about your trip, too.  I'm sorry but I'm not sure when you were taking off but it sounds like lots of fun!

Hugs to everyone on this delightful Monday!

My husband has high cholesterol and takes red Yeast rice which is a natural way to lower cholesterol. It has kept his cholesterol in a safe range without a statin. He use to be on a statin but did not want to take it so he has been on this for about 2 years now. He gets his cholesterol checked 1-2 times per year.

Lago - I registered for the strides walk! Any other west siders going???

Oh that red yeast rice sounds like it would be worth looking into more!  I have been trying some alternative natural herbs for digestive problems with lots of success.  Thanks for suggesting the red yeast rice.  I will certainly file away that info!

Timbuktu - any health food store has it.

My husband also just started taking plant sterols for cholesterol too.  It was recommended on Dr Oz.  I did a bunch of reading about it and seemed like a good option.  Got it at a health food store.

We the decent people of the world stand for the kind of life that will be good for all of the people, all of the time, everywhere.  We believe that this is a beautiful universe and that it is made for love and not for hate; for peace and not war; for freedom and not slavery; for order and not riot; for compassion and not violence; for happiness and not misery.  We believe that the ultimate decency is to help people and never harm people, to lift people and not degrade them, and to respect the dignity of all people as individual human beings.

It has been a rainy, rainy morning, but as we need it, I'm sure it will be ok.  Need to run out soon and get dog food.  It is always something.

Glad someone had suggestions for the cholesterol issues.  I'd forgotten about the red yeast rice.  As of late -- and I can tell the difference Dh and I have done the little machine ( name escaping me right now ) that pulverizes everything in its path............most of it though is 2 cups veggies and 2 cups fruits....including rinds, seeds etc.  It extracts everything out to juice.  I was against it but realized that I can no longer do well with the food pyramid and this gets me much, much closer.  So...feel it is worth it as I will get the variety and likely closer to stated amts.  We have been using organic produce -- a little tastier we think and the less pesticides the better I know.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Peace and love
