Anyone starting Chemo in Feb?

Oh, Pat, I'm so very sorry about Petey! It's always too soon, when they go. My dog Harrison is older, and I treasure every day with him, although he appears to be healthy. They give us so much - I hope there is another dog is your future, eventually. I'm very glad to hear that you're feeling better, breathing-wise, and that you're not working during rads. It sounds like it is doing the trick for you, though, and that's so great.
Sammie Kay, glad you weren't endangered by the hurricane (and that we weren't either, for that matter) - I hope none of our friends were threatened. I can't wait to get away from the coast where I never have to think about hurricanes again! We're heading north Wednesday for a couple of weeks, stopping to see my mom in Kansas on the way to Colorado. I can't wait. It could only be better if we were going to the Tetons, but that will have to wait for next year.
Twilah, hope you're doing well - I think of you so often. And hugs to all of you FCC'ers, I check up on you every day.
Hugs.

It seems like quite some time since I checked in with an update so here goes. I've been relaxing around home, not doing much of anything. Enjoyed my week off chemo last week but will be back in the chair tomorrow. Phill and Meg are in Dallas getting her set-up for school. Found out today that she will have to have her hair redone (from hot pink to a 'color one could be born with'). So silly, really. We close on the new house on Sep 8; Phill will return to Pa for the pack-up week on the 13th and we should be out of here just following my last chemo in this cycle (around the 20th). I'm set to meet with the new onc on Sep 26th. So many details to worry about and get organized. I find myself a little overwhelmed late at night when everybody else is asleep. I have a good cry then get on with business. I have not yet returned to work but keep threatening to. I have little interest in that part of my old life. Thank you for all your well wishes. I appreciate the kind thoughts. I read and stay current with what's going on with each of you but I don't always have the energy to post. My apologies. Hugs to all.

Hello to ALL. I didn't realize I was so far behind on posts - gosh, so much has happened.
Leah - so happy you had good news. Been thinking about you.
Twink - sounds like you're rolling with the flow. I don't think I have much chance of meeting you in the Phila area - guess I'll have to make the trip elsewhere.
Marsha - hey girl. Maybe in March??
Hillary - congrats on the new program. Isn't it awesome how we venture out into parts unknown after these experiences. Hell, I'd go to med school if I knew I could get thru before I'd be forced to retire .
Carynn - hope all is stable in your IT department.
Alyson - happy anniversary from me too.
Catherine - I'm awaiting the cool days of fall when the aromas of cold-days comfort food start waffling from your posts.
Sammie Kay - was thinking of you when the Gustav warnings started - guess you're breathing again.
I'll try to find a good photo from the wedding (then figure how to post again). Beside the wedding, I had lots going on - left for Switzerland Aug 19, returned Aug 25. To a local fair the 26th-28th. Back to work Friday, and Tuesday/Wednesday this week. Massive garage sale Thursday-Saturday. Phase 2 reconstruction surgery next Monday, a Sporting Clays benefit shoot next Friday, off to Wyoming Sept 20th - back the 28th. Then I need to buckle down and work. New hardware coming in early October and 3 disaster recovery tests - one each month beginning October 10. So, busy end to the year. Need to start thinking about Christmas shopping - holy crap.
Take care you all. Hugs!

Twilah; Indeed...hair is just a color. Most everyone these days does some sort of change. Oh well...I could think of all kinds of reasons she should be able to choose the color of her hair. Things are much different in the south. I hope she can adjust. I guess that's what life is really about...adjusting. I sense your angst. How truly difficult to have all this on an already full plate. I hope the new onc meets your approval. I think of you everyday and my friends ask about you often.
Pat: We too are grieving the loss of a pet today. DH found her as he was pulling into the drive for work. She was almost 12. It was heartbreaking to watch him digging her grave out in the rain...by the old oak stump in front of our house. DH always said he wanted to be buried there. Well...2 years ago it was struck by lightning. He said he guessed that since the tree was gone, he would just have to live forever. Silly 'ol bear.
"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live a day without you"...Winnie the Pooh.
Thinking of you all....

Evening all! I dint realize I hadn't checked in. Since I think of you all each and every day, I guess I expected you to read my mind.
SammieKay - How'd things go at the Onc? Inquiring minds want to know. You definitely have my sympathy on your aforementioned "episode." I had something similar happen once. It was so painful I was sure that there was something else wrong causing it. Amazing what we take for granted. Glad all is well now. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
Leah - How was the beach? I'm sooo jealous!
Catherine - Thank you for such a nice compliment. You are way too kind. How's things in Denver? Calmed down from the convention?
Hillary - Congrats on your good news at the Onc!! I've noticed my memory is improving too, although I definitely still have my moments! I've been doing crossword puzzles in hopes of "flexing my brain muscle." Catherine is talking about my new avatar on another board. My hair is almost back to where it was pre-tx with a slight variation. It's a very severe bob, with the back much shorter & "stacked." I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Marsha - How was the lake? I'm sure you had a great time! What's the news on Hannah & Ike? Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that it doesn't live up to it's hype.
Alyson - How's things? DS still traveling?
Terry - I'm so sorry to hear of your customer's dx. That is wonderful tho that she doesn't have to go thru chemo. How are you??
Pat - I'm so sorry to hear about Petey. I've said it before, it's not like our pets are "like family," they ARE family, and I'm so sorry. On a much happier note, 23 to go!!! Counting with you and waiting to be able to send a big congrats on your relationship with NED!
Twink - It is so good to hear from you! You sound crazy busy, you are entitled to feel overwhelmed! Just a few more days tho and you'll be off - in so many ways.! End of chemo, new house, new city. I hope you take care of you and rest and relax as much as you can. I wish you great things in this new endeavor.
Phyl - Oh my gosh you've been busy! It's great to hear from you. How was Switzerland? Cant wait to see a pic or rwo from the wedding!Melanie - I'm so sory to hear that you lost a pet too. It's just so heartbreaking. You're Winnie the Pooh quotes is one of my favorites. I've used it in cards to my BFF and DH. How was your trip to the Mouse's House? Hope you all had a great time.
So, what a strange weather week; I mentioned in my post on the 25th that I couldn't stay online as there was a bad storm. That weather continued for a week. Would you believe we ended up with 100 mile per hour winds? It was one of the worst monsoons on record with lots of damage. We were lucky, all of the damage we had was contained to the backyard. Our power was only out for about a half hour or so. Less than 2 miles from here they just restored power yesterday and the damage was much worse. You can read about it here:http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/08/29/20080829stormfollo0830.html
Nothing like Gustav, but amazing and intense.
Okey doke. Assuming the position. Sweet dreams to you all. (((Hugs)))

Just a quick post....hope all is well, especially Twilah and Pat. I have been checking in, but haven't had time to write. Busy at work. Manager was on vacation, so I was there both weeks 6 long days. Went to visit DD at college on Monday. She loves it and is doing well. I am swimming in tomatoes. So have been freezing them for soups, chili, etc. And eating tomato sandwiches....mmmmmm
Got to leave for work. Love you all. ((((Twilah)))) ((((Pat))))

Hi all
Just came on to the computer to see if DS had contacted us them the phone rang so have been chatting with him. He is in London at present.
All is going OK in this part of the world. We actually have had several fine days which has been great, even managed a bit of gardening today. Planted both flowers and some vegetables. This was great as I have had such sore joints, think it is a rheumatoid arthritis flare causing me problems so it was good to be able to do something active for the first time for a couple of weeks.
Pat, sorry to hear about your dog, it is so hard when a pet reaches the end of their lives.
Have been watching the hurricanes with more interest than usual, just making sure they are not heading anyone's way and my Yr 10s are studying 'reaction to disaster' at present.
Do hope everyone will have a restful weekend.
Alyson

Melanie,
So sorry for your loss of your dear doggy/friend. That is so hard. I remember when my daughter was 17, our chow chow was run over and she came up the driveway, carrying him in her arms crying . She was in her jammies. It was so sad.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Twilah, I have a "sussy" to send you. That means a surprise LOL Should I mail it to PA or wait until you get to "Big D"? Will you PM me your Dallas address, when you are feeling better.
Love and hugs to all, Sammie Kay

Where is everyone?
We must all be so busy these days. It is exam time at school so I have a few minutes to get on to the net., but noboby seems to be writing anything. Was so pleased to see that Sammie Kay had been visiting.
Hope you are all well

HiAlyson,
Glad you are checking in. Sounds great starting a garden. When will your son return from Europe?
We are eagerly watching the TV weather. Some models show us getting a direct hit from Hurricane Ike. Some say it will go either North or South of us.We are far enough away from the cost to not be hit by the storm surge. Not so for LuckyMel, I think? Is that right Mel?
My love and prayers to everyone. Sammie Kay

We're in the Ike sidelines here and it's raining piggies with thunder and lightening. I chose to go into work today so am just now sitting waiting for it to let up long enough for me to do just that. Two days ago Gustav moved through and it poured allllllll day! Nice to see everybody but so sad to hear the news of beloved pets dying. Our female bullmastiff is starting to get up there and I worry that she may be on the decline. Big dogs don't have long lives.
(not sure what I did to get this big text... I need a manicure, my nails are becoming a handicap. )
Love the Pooh quote Melanie.
Love to all , hope you're managing fine with Tx Pat.
t
PS OH OH OH... how could I forget....We closed on the house in Dallas yesterday! Yippee!

Twilah - How funny that you're getting rain - we haven't seen anything yet! I'm working from home, but have to go in in a couple of hours so I'm sure that I will get slammed with rain then!
Sammiekay - I'm really hoping that Ike fizzles out like Hannah. I really don't know how much more stress you folks on the Gulf coast can take ...
I'm sorry to hear about everyone's pets. Although not a pet person myself, I do understand how pets are part of the family.
Here's my news, the good and the bad.
So far, I've had the first class each of the two classes that I'm taking and they are great! This is definitely the right thing for me to be doing right now. My ds has a great 2nd grade teacher and seems to very happy at school.
Now the bad .. I got my period back. I was pre-meno prior to chemo, but menstrual cycle stopped after the second chemo. I was 49 at the time, so my onc told me that my chemo-pause would lead into "real" menopause. My gyn agreed, but told me that she wanted to see me ASAP if I did get any bleeding. Sunday morning, woke up with cramps and my period. Phoned the gyn and I'm scheduled for an endometrial biopsy on Thursday. Not a fun procedure from what I've read. I'm regretting the fact that I didn't push for estrogen level test to see whether I really was in menopause. Neither my onc nor my gyn thought it necessary since I'm triple negative.
Hugs to all,
Hillary

Hillary, that is so not fair! The only good thing to come of this whole dx was the end of my period! I was pre-mena too and stopped as soon as I started chemo. I hope you are just an oddball. HAHA
Sorry too about the loss of the animals. We lost our black lab several years ago, she was 10. Our house felt like a big ole empty warehouse without her in it. Cried for weeks and then visited the animal shelter and got 2, brother and sister.
Hi Thilah! Congrats on the house closing. When do you officially move lock, stock and barrel? I recently sold a friend of mine a house on the lake and we closed last week. Got another buyer under contract, so things are picking up somewhat.
Sammie Kay, we have been very lucky so far this hurricane season. Hope Ike misses you.
Hello?? Pat?? We need to hear from you!

Hi everybody! Hope you are well. So good to see everyone posting!
Things are good here. Supposed to be the "regular" crazy this week. Next week I have the Rheumatologist, followed the next day with the completion of my oral surgery. Finally!! Once that finally heals, I can get rid of this temporary and stop talking with a "cute lisp." Grrrr. Week after that is the Onc. Man this is an expensive "hobby."
Terry - Last we heard from you, you were wearing two hats at work. Have things calmed down yet? Still eating tomatoes?
Alyson - Howdy! I'm here! I was checking posts too and mine was hanging out there all alone for a while!
SammieKay - I saw the the models for Ike tonite. Sure hope it loses strength and that you, and everyone in it's path stay SAFE.
Twilah - I kind of liked the big font. Big congrats to you on the house closing. Have you firmed up your moving dates? How are you feeling these days? Inquiring minds want to know. Keeping you in thoughts and prayers,
Hillary - First congrats on the class! I don't know what to say on the other! I'm 19 months out and based on the "quality" of my hotflashes, I'm assuming I'm done for good. Other than the hot flashes, I've looked at it as a benefit; so I have to agree with Marsha and hope you're an odd ball (<-said with much love!) Will be thinking of you on Thursday, please let us know how it goes.
Marsha - So glad to hear that you've avoided all the storms. Any new plays in the works?
Catherine - Where are you??
Vegas - You still reading? Miss you too.
Take care everyone. See you soon!0 -
Hi, everyone... nice to see you all (almost) here today... Twilah, the rain will be gone just in time for the move... better for it to fall now than then... How are you feeling? Is nausea a thing of the past (did the sachet help a bit? For me, it's immediate effect when I am queasy, just breathing it).
Hillary, welcome to the club... that's what happened to me in January (was on Tamox then, which does not put you in menopause), the biopsy is not that awful, it's so quick (sometimes they say to take a couple of advil before going in). Ask your doc whether it would not be a good idea to have a pelvic ultra-sound first (3D with saline, to really see better), before the biopsy (to make sure the biopsy will be useful). In my case that would have saved me a procedure (could have skipped the initial biopsy) since I ended up having to remove first a polyp, then the whole "nursery". I have never felt better since I did this.
I can sense the excitement of "back to school" when you have chosen the right class with the right professor... enjoy!
Marsha, thinking of you often... between hurricane scares and real-estate roller coaster, life must not be boring in your neck of the woods... glad it's moving... how do you feel? Are you doing fun stuff with your buddies? do you go to the beach a lot and swim in the ocean? It must be still warm enough... tell us more about yourself, as Carynn puts it "the inquiring mind wants to know"...
SammieKay, hope you will be spared by Ike... I do not miss those (in Houston we had Alicia in the early 80's). It was such a pain to rush to the marina to secure the boat... our life is simpler here... hope you are feeling better, less tired. You'll have to reconnect on Skype.
Alyson, when is the baby due? How is the knitting going? I think I could open a store soon with all the cute stuff I made... I have been on Skype everyday with my sister (she lives just south of Paris) and we show each other what we are knitting for HER grandson to be (Nov. 1st or so). It's great, because we can coordinate our efforts (and the colors). I biked 11 miles last Sunday to go to a lovely yarn shop (called the Lambshop -- see Google). The ride was terrific, in beautiful weather, through a great old Denver neighborhood. I came back home with tons of great stuff and tried new patterns right away... a blast for me.
Terry, I am jealous about the tomatoes... missed completely the planting season. In fact I did not plant anything new this year (between the surgeries in April and the roadtrip in June, could not do a thing), but everything came back really strong, roses are glorious again right now, and hollyhock and lavender, too... Hope you are getting some extra rest time in compensation for your hard work at the bank...
Carynn, sounds like you have a lot on your medical plate... hope it is not too painful and that you'll be done for good.
Leah, where are you, sweetie? How is life? Refining your technique for fly-fishing?
Melanie, I, too, like the Pooh quote... lovely choice. Hope you're feeling good and are busy-busy.
Here, the big event is that I got my own car, not a Smart in the end -- the waiting list is too long, but a Toyota Yaris white, hatchback (3 doors), automatic... I drove it twice : to bring it home (a few blocks away) and to go get the heartworm medicine for the doggies on Saturday... it's a small car, fits great in the garage next to the van. Last time I had a car just for me, it was in Houston, 20 years ago -- a Renault Le Car... So I am a grown up again, and regained some independence... although I prefer biking...
Work is steady, we've been quite busy, which is nice. The weather is still absolutely glorious (with a few cold spells here and there). No medical visits until mid-Oct. Aches and pains (joints) in the morning probably from Aromasin, but life is good otherwise, especially if I keep moving... cooking again a bit more... ratatouille, apple and garden peaches crisps (with oatmeal), chicken curries with coconut milk... DH wants to lose a few pounds, though, so we are drastically cutting dessert... I might even lose some weight, too, in the process, who knows (I am very hungry... grrr...)
Well, I am going to watch pbs while knitting... Thinking of you all everyday, and hoping Pat and Twink are feeling as good as possible. Pat, drop us a note, we miss you. Leah, too... a year ago you were about to go to Tuscany to this great cooking class... right?
Big hugs to everybody,
Catherine

Oh, SammieKay... just saw the weather forecast... time to pack everything which is still outside and bring it inside, and secure doors and windows... a possible path is right through Corpus... Is your boat protected?
Will keep our fingers crossed for minimal inconvenience. Stay home if you can (I remember how flash floods were common in Houston... you don't want to be on the road).
Have all a lovely day (mid 80's here today... glorious outside)
Catherine

Hello everyone! I've been doing well, no more need to have fluid removal and no more shortness of breath. Today was #14 with 18 more to go and I feel the improvements. Just hoping the rads kicks the tumor totally and chemo won't be needed.
Here in San Antonio everyone is loading up on canned food items, water and batteries in preparation for Ike that's now at cat 2. My daughter and I are going to straighten out the garage so we can get both cars in there come Friday evening.
Glad to hear everyones doing well.....Twink you "sound" great!!
Pat

Hi all,
Just a quick note as I must go to bed and get up very early to tie everything down. Depending on the news in the morning I will know if we are going to leave or not. They are now saying Ike is veering off to the north slightly. It could miss us again. Keep your fingers crossed.
Our boat is on a trailer in our drive way at the moment. Mike will be moving it down to the shop tomorrow. We will fill the balast with water. That is the weight that balances the boat when we are in the water.
So glad to hear from everyone. I saw Twyla's avatar on Fox News tonight. Did anyone else see it? They were talking about the Obama 'foot in the mouth' deal and the pig and the lipstick and they put up a picture of Twyla's avatar. Hee Hee.
Well, I am falling asleep here, so better go. Catherine I will definetly get the Skype up and going after I deal with Ike. Be nice to see you again. My hair has grown a lot and is still curly, but I can blow dry it out where it is fairly smooth. I have some really good products that make it feel silky and takes away any frizzes.
Twyla you sound so good and upbeat. Makes me very happy to feel your enthusiasm.
Pat, so glad your symptoms have subsided and the radiation is working.
Hugs all round. Love to everyone. Sammie Kay

Oh SammieKay and Pat, I'm wishing the best for this storm. My sisters live in South Florida, so I'm always developing angst around the hurricane season. Now I need to include you two!
Pat - It is so reassuring to hear how much better you are doing. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the radiation just nicked this thing it the bud.
Catherine - I had forgotten that you had gone through this last winter (if I remeber correctly). I'm not on tamox, and there were several other things that she wanted to rule out by the biopsy. The biopsy wasn't as bad as I had thought it might be. I'm also scheduled for the TV ultrasound, something I've had twice before and also don't particularly enjoy! I'm really hoping that it's just happy ovaries that are not ready to kick the bucket, with the worst part being having to do menopause all over again. I just don't have the time for another serious illness and/or operation, at least not until the semester ends!
I saw Twilah yesterday. She was a little weak until I insisted she eat some food. She still has a good appetite, it just needs visual cues (i.e. seeing the food) to stimulate it! Other than that, she seems to be doing very well, with only minor SEs from her chemo regimen. She's got a great support team (family and friends) that will make this move happen next week. I get to see her one last time before she flies off to Dallas.
A Dallas trip for me in October is looking less and less likely. The only possible weekend would be Oct 17 - Oct 19.
Caryn and Allison - How are your RA symptoms doing? Are things back under control?
Hugs to all and safe wishes through the storms ...
Hugs,
Hillary

thinking about you Hillary... sent you a PM.
Pat and Sammie Kay, I hope this storm bypasses you safely.
Off for a scan tomorrow. My last one with this onc. Maybe she'll have the results in time for my next appt with her. Here's hoping for further improvement.
Catherine, the sachet is beautiful, as are the other little goodies. I especially like the soap. I wrote a little note for you just haven't mailed it yet.
Love to all.

How are our Texas girls - please check in!
I'm trying to think positive thoughts about my biopsy results. My new visualization is that my ovaries are like the Energizer Bunny - "takes a licking and keeps on ticking". They've got a smiley face and are smirking "Gotcha ... now you have to go through menopause AGAIN!'

Hi all,
As you alll probably know by now we missed Ike, the hurricane. Thank God.
Our daughter Natalie lives in Seabrooke, which is right near Galveston and cannot find out if her new house is underwater or not. They came to Victoria on Thursday afternoon. She and her fiance and his three children are here. Sure glad they got out. They were under mandatory evacuation. Don't believe they can go back for another 48 hours. We are having a very nice time with them. The children are very well behaved. I know they are anxious to get back home.
Our daughter, Jennifer, who lives in Sugarland came here to Victoria also. They are staying at her in-laws.
My two older daughters, Kathy and Tricia and their families, who live in North Houston stayed home. They got some bad wind, but no damage to their homes. Of course, everyone is without power. Lots of generators being purchased here, as Houston is out of them.
Well, I better go and visit with everyone.
Love to all, Sammie Kay
Hillary, keeping you close in my mind as you go for the biopsy. Twyla do you have a Dallas address yet? I have something to send to you and will send it to Dallas. let me know. PM

Evening All
So pleased that Ike missed you Sammie Kay. DO hope your daughter's home is OK. We saw the pictures on TV tonight.
Not much news from this part of the world except that our General Election is a couple of days after your Presidential one. Will make life interesting for a while.
Things seem to be goping OK with me. Only problem is lymphoedema which is a pain as is the RA. Have had a quiet weekend, did have friends over last night and went to lunch after Church today but other wise haven't really exerted myself.
Catherine, DD's baby is due on the 25th Oct. She is doing really well. Meant to get some buttons for the things I have finished but forgot this weekend.
Hope every one is feeling bright. Good luck Hillary and thinking about you Twink and Pat.

Hi all...so sorry I have been away so long, but I have been thinking about all of you....Glad to hear Ike spared you , SammieKay...Hope your daughter's home is not badly damaged.
Pat and Twilah...glad you are both doing well.
Here is why I have not been online...last Sat I decided to rip down my kitchen wallpaper....so that took a day. Then almost everyday for the last week I have been spraying "Dif" and scrubbing off wallpaper adhesive. Yesterday we patched drywall, as the wall was never finished properly for painting. So today we painted. I am gong to stamp a faux tile pattern on as a backsplash and have been experimenting with some stamped designs. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do,
We also had to make a trip to college this week...DD needed her car inspected. So DH went and got it one evening then we took it back the next. We took DD, her roommate and a friend out for a decent meal then came home.
So I have been really busy...yes, I am still eating tomatoes. I am really enjoying them. Some years I don't get many. The deer lile them too!
Well, now I need to pay some bills...let that chore go last week.....love you all....

Good news - biopsy was normal! I still have to have a pelvic US, but the going theory is just really robust ovaries!
Hugs,
Hillary

Hillary, I can hear the sigh of relief... you can now turn entirely to your "student" life... with a relaxed frame of mind... enjoy! You can count on another 5-8 years of this robustness of yours...
Twink, did you get your scans? Thinking about you, sweetie, keeping fingers and toes crossed for steady improvement from tx. Congrats on the closing... away from the Gulf...
SammieKay, big sigh of relief for you too, although Victoria got a lot of rain, too, I heard, right? boy, I sure am glad we did not go back to Houston to live... I watch live videos from 11news... I could see the RV park where we stayed last winter completely tossed around with huge campers piled up... it was right by Jamaica beach, it was lovely to walk the dogs by the surf...
Alyson, enjoy the warming days... we still have absolutely somptuous weather here. Planning to drive up to the mountains for an overnight to see the Fall colors.
LuckyMel, where you still traveling when Ike struck Houston? How are you doing?
Terry, enjoy those tomatoes... good for you all... start a pasta sauce brand... hope your bank is doing ok...
Well, dear all, have a nice evening (the weather looks nasty on the East coast, stay put). Leah, Marsha, Carynn, Pat, Phyl... hope everything is ok...
Hugs,
Catherine (going back to the deck to knit in the sun)

I too am so saddened by all the devastation along the coast. Nature has certainly unleashed her fury in the last few years.
Sammie; It is so good to know that you and your family are all safe. That is what is truly important in the big scheme of things.
Twink; I think of you daily.
We are headed home from a business trip and I am about to lose my battery power. I just wanted to check in and tell everyone that I read here often, but just don't post like I should. I intend on improving on that matter!

Hi all! Miss you! Wanted to pop in and check on our Texas sisters.
Catherine - How's work going? Are they keeping you busy still? Congrats on your new car! Still having fun driving around? I remember the Le Car! They were kind of rare, so a real head turner when you saw one. When are you taking your day trip? It sounds like fun.
Pat - Hope you are keeping the Rad Techs in line and feeling good.
Twink - Aww - I missed "you" on tv! How are you? Are you in the process of moving now? Thinking of you (((Twink)))
Hillary - Big congrats on your good news (and robust ovaries!) When is your US? Thinking of you - do keep us posted. Thanks for asking about me, but I'm a little stiff and creaky these days. I'm off my RA meds for upcoming oral surgery. Since my immune system is suppressed, I'll start pre-emptive antibiotics tomorrow - so 2 weeks of discomfort then back to "normal."
SammieKay - I'm so glad to hear that you guys came thru Ike ok. Has your daughter been able to get news on her house yet? Wishing the best for your families and that they come thru with no / minimal damage.
Alyson - I'm sorry to hear that you were in a flare. Are you feeling any better?
Terry - Wow! You've been busy! Is the room finished, or are you still working on it?
Melanie - Good to see you. Stay safe in your travels. We're going to hold you to your promise of stopping in more - we miss ya when you're gone!
Have a great evening all. Hope to see you soon!

Hi guys,
Sammie Kay, I hope your daughter's home is ok. I hear parts of Seabrook are ok, and some are unfortunately not. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her. Glad you didn't have any damage where you are.
Catherine, yes, we are still traveling. When Ike was hitting Houston, we were in a cabin with no cell phone, internet, or tv - most probably the best way to experience a hurricane. I've never been through one, and don't ever want to experience it. My husband was called home to work yesterday, and he reports our home is miraculously ok, although we lost trees. Cat and fish survived(kitty evacuated with our wonderful pet sitter), no broken windows, just a lot of yard mess, so we were very lucky. I refused to go home to no water, power, internet, tv, etc., so he flew home (on the company) and I am still in Colorado with the dog. I'll try to call you before I head home.
Pat, Twilah - thinking of you both. You both sound good.
Take care, everyone.
