    Pat,

Please keep posting... even if it is just thoughts and feelings. Our minds fill in the blanks when we don't hear from people. And everybody's experience is different, so it could be helpful to post. But it is your choice. But we will worry if we don't see you. End of March is like forever....

    Love.

Pat;  I so agree with Leah and I understand if you just don't want to post, but we are truly concerned about everyone in our little group.  I hope you will continue to post.  None of us know what our future holds for us...next month or next year.  Any of us could be going through something similar as you and Twilah.  I need to know that you both are reading here and know that you have our support.  And...I love to hear about those good news moments.  The nodules being gone is fabulous!

Just coming in to say good morning.

Pat - I second Mel & Leah's comments. You know how we worry! Do keep us posted when you feel up to it.

There's not much new to report. DH & I have been keeping very busy getting ready for the holidays. I've kept myself on a bit of schedule and so far I've really enjoyed everything I've done as I've kept it spaced out and havent been overwhelmed.

Hope you are well. Sending hugs and good wishes to all.

    hello all!

Well this week should be momentous. I should have two job offers coming in, wihch in this economy is fabulous... though if I wanted to be on the road, I can be working anywhere. But these have the right combination of hours and flexibility and little travel. So I am happy. Will let you know what I decide. Though I am leaning towards giving up consulting for a while.

The re-xray of my foot is Thursday, and though I have kind of stopped wearing the boot, i will get the official word. I am sure it is healed, since nothing hurts at all.  I guess I would be surprised if it has not healed....

I am far ahead of the curve for house decorating, cards done and mailed, and most things wrapped. Though we aren't giving a lot of gifts this year. Everybody in both families kind of said to cool it except for the littlest ones (of which we only have 3 left).

Mel and I will be seeing Twilah this next weekend coming. So we will definitely be talking about all of you!

    FA LA LA LA LA....

Wow Leah! What great news, do keep us posted.  Are both jobs in MA? How nice to have your commute in the same town!

I'm also so excited for you that you'll be seeing Twilah. Please give her my best and let her know she's always in my thoughts and prayers (as are all of you!)

Let me clarify- either job will require a 50 minute commute each way, but very little "outside the area" travel!  I still hate the thought of driving that much, but I can't have it all ways. And in this economy, I am thrilled to have two choices!

Carynn;  I wonder if most of us have slowed down our holidays a bit.  I know I have.  I just don't want all the stress.  I think it is wonderful to step back from the craziness of it all and try to just enjoy time with friends and family.  Which I am looking forward to this weekend with Leah and Twilah and Patricia (T's SIL)!!!

Leah;  I kinda figured your message about "good news" was about the job front...congratulations!  It might be a little premature, but I know that the right job will find its way to you.  I have some fun stuff planned and I am excited to see you and Twink.  It looks like we might have a couple of days of fabulous weather.

Catherine;  Are all of the plans in place for your girls night out?

Pat;  You are in my thoughts.

Marsha;  Please let us know how you are doing.  Have you found anything to help the pain yet?

Tink;  If you ever read here, know that we all think about you and baby Aubree.  Leah and I will be in Dallas from the 12th to the 17th if you feel up to a visit.  You can email me at melanie at etw99 dot com.

I am quite busy today figuring company Christmas bonuses, then I will pick up Natalie as her Pop leaves for SC in the morning and can't hardly stand to go more than a week without seeing her.  It's amazing how much their personalities are alike.

    Happy Holiday Vibes to Everyone....

Great job news Leah.  You sure have a gift in the knowledge and background you possess.  Helps in the job market.

Melanie and Leah give my love to Twyla.  Know you guys will have a wonderful visit.

I would love to hear from her.  And in that vein, Pat please do keep posting.  I love to hear how you are, whether it is good or bad.  We are here to support each other.

I understand that I don't know how it feels to be in your place.  But the bonds I feel here don't stop because the news is not always good news.  If I was to have a recurrence maybe I just wouldn't feel like posting.  But as for me I want to hear from all with any news you feel like sharing.  I get the impression from others here they feel the same way.  We are still on that cruise we started in Dec/Jan two years ago.

I too am simplifying Christmas.  We will go to Houston, so we aren't decorating too much.

I am having my cataract surgery a week from today, so need to get everything wrapped this weekend.  I am going to do cards this weekend also.  Did we have a snail mail list somewhere on this board?  I swear I am getting senile.

Catherine, it was good to hear your voice the other night. I am off on Thurs. and will try to Skype you.  Maybe the camera will work better this time.

How are things in New Zealand, Alyson?  And that baby girl?

Terry, where are you?  Been missing you here.

Caryn, how is your job?  Any effects from the economy slow down?  How is your RA?

Wondering if the semester is about over for you, Hillary?

Pat and Twink you are in my thoughts daily.  Sending you warm hugs.

Marsha, how is the old back?  Mine was really helped with the Epidural Steroid Injection.  I seem to be taking less pain medication

Well guess I better go to bed.  Have to work tomorrow.  Hi Phyl, too.

Mel, hope to see you during the Holidays.

    Hugs to all, Sammie Kay.

    Hi everyone.

Hope everyone is surviving the holiday stress....I told my kids I was cutting back, but I still decorated...still have the tree to do.   My sister and I are making a trip to the outlets in Hagerstown tomorrow, then I will be finished!   yeah!

I haven't been around because I was not feeling up to it.  I went to the gyn's (reg checkup) on Nov 20.  He said he felt "something" around my right ovary and I had a lot of pain while he was examining me.   So I had to have an ultrasound...he says it is okay.  No explanation for the pain.  I also told him about the little lumps I feel toward my armpit in my "bad" breast....so he sent me for a mammo.   It was "normal" or as normal as it can be.   So he notified my breast surgeon in Pittsburgh to see if she wanted an MRI done.   She calls me and wants to see me.  So I was there yesterday.   She had an US done...nothing there.   Guess I am paranoid, but she says the radiated tissue just feels harder and lumpier than it did before.   I feel better now that I have seen her.   My only question is whether to ask my medical onc if I should have a CT scan to see what the pain in my right side is from.   Could be adhesions or scar tissue from all the surgeries I have had.    So anyway...I have just been worried and not up to talking....especially when our friends, Twilah and Pat have more serious issues.

I think of you daily...hope both Twilah and Pat are doing well.   And yes, I agree, please talk to us.  We all are concerned and love you!....sending you hugs.

I have a snail mail list from last year, but do not have Twilah's new address....anyone want to PM me her new address?

Leah....you always seem to land on your feet jobwise...you must be very gifted.   You go girl!

Sammie...hope your eye surgery goes well.  My great aunt had the cataracts done in her 90's and did very well....she is 94...oh and a breast cancer survivor too!  Good luck...I know you will do fine.

I was thinking of getting a webcam for Christmas...I would like to be able to Skype DD at college with the added benefit of seeing you all!  Will let you know.  (see how the money holds out)

Marsha, we haven't heard from you.  Are you busy working or rehearsing?  How is your back?

Hillary, is your son excited for Christmas....we don't have that much fun here anymore...enjoy the excitement.  Hope you are doing well in your classes.   My kids are taking finals this week, so i assume you are too...good luck!   Maybe we will talk to you next week!

Catherine, how is Denver.  Hope you and DH are both doing well.  and doggies too.

Well...I am on a vacation week and want to get things done....better get moving.   Leah and Melanie, please give a hug to Twilah for me!   Have a great time together.

    Hugs to Pat too.

    Alyson...hug the baby for me!

Can you tell I feel better?   It is amazing how much a little worry drags you down.   I really have to stop that.

Hi, everybody... so nice to read your news.  Terry, I wish you were not so anxious and stressed out. Enjoy your week off... and get that camera... a 15-20$ one is good enough...

Carynn, we miss you here... hope RA is more gentle on you and that you can enjoy this busy time of the year.

Melanie, I'd love to be one of your employees... bonuses? Hum... this word doe not exist in my line of business... sounds like you are a good company for your people, you and your dh... to your credit. Enjoy the holidays with your loved ones.

Well, last night was my BNO with 6 friends I have here, I feel so fortunate to be surrounded with such nice women. The band was great... so much energy to keep the tempo an entire evening (3hours of music with a few breaks)... here is the link for those who missed it last time... bring ambiance to a party....  go down the page to click on the video and the Mp3 pieces... I know you like it, Melanie... so uplifting...

Hillary, Marsha, give us some news...

Leah, Melanie, will be thinking of you all reunited with Twilah tomorrow... Add my hugs to yours... gently...

Got to go back to work (no tree, yet, no decoration up... hope to do it this week-end... also dreaming of a few nice diners with friends, making a beautiful festive table on white linens with golds and silvers, and the family dishes and silver... you know, the type that does NOT go in the dishwasher...:-)  )

     Love to all,

    Catherine

    It worked Leah!

Here we are at Twi's...we had just returned from our day at the spa...hence our "glowing" complexions...Twilah is the only one of us that looks lovely.  It has been such a wonderful visit between all three of us and Twi is in good spirits.  She brought the whole family over to the condo for brunch today.  Carynn, you will appreciate this next bit of info.  I made Leah get into a real race car and ride with a driver for 4 laps around the speedway!  It was a blast.  Twilah's kids also rode...I really am enjoying getting to know them also.  I don't think we could have asked for a better day with her.   Tomorrow morning we will go back to Twi's.  She is remodeling this huge house.  It is really a great place...on a very pretty peaceful little lake.

I feel pretty blessed to be able to develop these relationships with women that I admire and respect.  Twilah, Leah and I would still like for more of you to get together with us.  Keep it in mind and we can plan another Dallas get together very soon.

It is getting pretty late and we have another big day planned tomorrow!

    Love you all....

Melanie, Leah.... Merci, merci for the news... what a lovely trio you make. Twink, so good to see you. The program for the visit sounds packed and exciting. So nice also to know that you could enjoy the company of Twink's kids and family... the swimming pool looks enticing...

-15F overnight here, snow on the ground and highs in the teens.... brrr

But I keep warm snuggling with my computer... still a long way to go before the end of this humongous project...

Hugs and love to all, including those NOT on the picture...

Thank you so much for sharing the picture and your visit with Twyla.  You all look wonderful.  What glowing skin, especially Twyla.  Sounds like you are all having a blast.  I was planning to make the Dallas get together, so as soon as a date is set let me know.

Tomorrow morning is the cataract surgery.  I understand it only takes 30 min. and a little recovery time.  The trainer at the gym said I could be back on the exercise bike in 2 days.  Yes, I am actually going to the gym.  Everyday except Sundays.  I am starting very slowly because I tend to overdo things and mess up my back.  My pain doc will kill me if I do that again.   So I am doing 30 to 45 min on the recumbent bike and leg press, and machines for the quadriceps and the hamstrings.  I will add upper body after I am through with both eyes.  I have to wait two weeks to do the other eye.

Brrrrrrr!!!! Catherine.  It is quite nippy here, but nothing like what you have.  Your 'merci' made me chuckle.  We recently switched from cable to DirectTV and the guy who came to install was named Mercy.  Never heard that one before.  So I was calling him 'merci, merci'.  Silly huh?

Terry, what tense time you went through.  Are they going to do the CT of your abdomen.  I would insist.  I thought they removed the ovaries when one had breast cancer.  Are you scheduled for that?

Marsha, we are worried about you.  How are you?  What was the diagnosis for your back problems?  Hope you are alright.

Again, great picture and thank you, Melanie and Leah for thinking of us.

    Pat, hugs and warm thoughts to you.  Hope you are not having too severe side-effects from chemo.{{{{{{{{{{{{{Pat}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

    You too Twyla, hope that chemo isn't causing you too much discomfort.  You are in my thoughts daily.{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Twyla}}}}}}}}}}}

Quiet here.  Cataract surgery went fine.  No problems so far.

Got a call this morning that my brother died unexpectedly.  He was 72 and had some disabilities due to hydrocephalus.  He went to church and out to eat.  But he required a lot of help.  I am glad he didn't have to go to the nursing home, which was a possibility.  He was wheelchair bound and couldn't move from chair to bed or anything without help.  He had a heart attack on Tues. and died in the hospital today.  We will go to Austin for the services.  We will go Sunday and come back on Monday.

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday season.  Love to all, Sammie Kay

Twilah.....so good to see your smiling face.   The 3 of you look so good and like you are having a good time!    Tell us all about your new house and the remodel.   Hope the chemo is kind to you.  Is that the only treatment you are having?   Or do you have radiation too?   Please know how often I think of you and keep you in my prayers.

Sammie...my deepest sympathy on the loss of your brother.  I lost a brother 19 years ago at Christmas time too.   It makes for a poignant holiday.   He was killed in a fire the day after my DD was born.  He never got to see her.   Please travel safely.

Well ....off to work..  We are having lunch brought in for the staff today.   It is sleeting/snowing/raining right now, so will be a lousy commute.

    Love you all,

    Morning, all.

Marsha asked that I post a note to update you on what is happening with her.

She was in extreme pain yesterday, and called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. In the course of the journey, her femur bone broke, and she had to have surgery to insert a rod in her leg. Prior to the operation, they found that her leg bones had holes, and they suspected bone metastasis from the BC.

She will have to have PT, and then she will start rads to the legs/hips on Wednesday. She will have to undergo some more screening tests so that her docs understand what they are dealing with.

I am sure she knows that we are here for her, whatever she needs..

    Hugs to all of us.

Hi everyone. Good Sunday morning! Hope everyone is well.

I'm sorry to have been MIA, but both DH & I have been sick for the past couple of weeks. I've been reading and keeping up with everyone, but just felt too miserable to sit upright long enough to post. I did a Zpack & felt great after that, then had a relapse and was pretty much down for the count for the next week. Being so run down brought on several RA flares, some major, some minor. Other than the left over cough, feeling pretty good today.

So, for the 2nd year in a row, I was sick in bed on my birthday. I'm sticking to my same story as last year, that if you are sick in bed, the birthday doesnt come and you're NOT a year older. That makes me 2 whole years younger than it says on my birth certificate! Catherine, if I remember right you just had a birthday too?

SammieKay - I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. Keeping you & yours in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are on the mend.

Mel - Thank you so much for sharing the pix! You guys look great!

Terry - How are you? Are you feeling better these day? We all sure understand the worry. Hope you are well and having fun getting ready for the holidays.

Pat - Thinking of you and sending a big hug. (((Pat)))

Twink - We sure miss you here! Hope you are doing well.

Leah - Did you make a decision on the job front? Inquiring minds...... ;)

Thinking of you all and sending hugs and good wishes to everyone else who is sick, waiting test results or facing other struggles and trials. We'll be going out of town right after Christmas, so I may not get back to the board until Januray. If I dont talk to you, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy, Healthy New Year.

    Take care all, TTFN.

I am so glad that Marsha asked Leah to post this news.  I just got off the phone with her and was shocked that her leg was broke while she was at the hospital.  I can't even imagine the pain.  She has friends and family around her, but she still needs our support.  So much has happened to our little group in the last few months and it is so important for us to be strong for those who need us.  We all need to know that we are here for each other.  I have a wonderful network of friends and family, but there will always be a special connection to those of you here.

    Love to you all....

Getting ready for the holidays here, but just don't seem to be in the same mood I usually am.   Just down.   My DS will be at his girlfriend's as  she is working and on call Christmas day.  DD has to work from 10 to 2, so won't have dinner until late.

This is to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and my you find peace a blessings at this time.

I know it will still be Christmas eve when in your part of the world. I have been watching TV, DH has gone to Church. This is the first Christmas Eve I have missed for many years but just didn't feel up to it tonight as I havesinus and a chest infection something I don't normally get during Summer.

We are having Brunch here in the morning and then going out to a restaurant in the evening. DD1 is singing so thought it would be different. It will be fun in the morning even though little Bea doesn't understand what is going on.

    Hugs to all
