Anyone starting Chemo in Feb?

Interval decrease just means from the last scan to this one, it got smaller.
The interval is the difference between the two scans...
Any med school grads there? I am pretty sure that this is all you get on the FINAL page, which is why I always get the whole report. The individual docs reading do give you the maeasurements... I am pretty sure.

Now, this is good news or what!!! GREAT, Leah... so happy for you... we'll drink to these beautiful results!! Hope you have somebody around to "float" with you...
(((((((((((((Leah))))))))))))))))))))
Sending snowy kisses to all... got almost a foot of the white stuff!! Our young neighbors are so sweet, they cleared the snow for us, all the way to the front door... They have the cute baby for whom I knit, and gave mom her first knitting lesson yesterday... fun!
Tonight... I knit!! just delivered a job, looks like the week-end is clear... not a minute too soon...
Love to all,
C.

Marsha; I had to share that I had a dream about you last night. Somehow, I managed to magically get into your house...I think the door was unlocked and I surprised you when you arrived home! I hope that isn't a scary thing...lol. Had a great time and you were as healthy as could be! But, I sure did have trouble finding a hotel room that night...and when I went out to my car, it was covered in slushy ice...in Florida of all things! I think the hotel thing harkens back to the time when we used to race at Volusia and had to stay in some not so great hotels in Ocala...who knows...I have strange dreams. There were lots more details I remember, but I don't want to write a book here...hehe. Love ya.0
-
Good morning, all!
Strange dreams all right... wow. I get those type of dreams when I mix shellfish and white wine.
Anyway, thank you all for your kind wishes. But the best part of this report is that I don't have to go for another for SIX months... in my world, that is a very, very long time. And I can stop worrying about all the exposure to the radiation when I was goign every 60 days. But the onc promised that if this was a good one, I would move to 6, which is end of September.. wow, a whole two seasons to get thru before I have to go again! that is what feels so wonderful.
Thinking of you all.. celebrating birthdays, dreaming dreams, and maybe crying a little. All part of cancerworld.
Love.

Good morning
Well that just vanished. Not sure how I did that but nevermind. It is a beautiful sunny morning here after a wonderful evening. It was a great party which was a celebration of life which was what I wanted. Will write more later as I have a sleeping Bea.0 -
Alyson,
A "celebration of your life" is what it was. I am so happy you had a great time. Looking forward to the details...

Fantastic News Leah! And a reprieve of 6 months!
Marsha, so happy to see your smiling face...how are you anyway? Hoping the leg is healing and rads are helping.
Alyson, take time to enjoy the little Princess! As you know from your own children, the time flys.
Pat...my garden is not doing anything as yet. Too cold and wet for planting anything. Danger of frost isn't over here until May. Although my mini daffodils are blooming and crocuses are peaking up. I can see the tops of the tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.
Catherine, I was envying your weather in the 60s an d70s, but you can keep the snow! Central PA has had enough of that, although it does sometimes snow in April. It is about 48 today here and raining. I did troop outside and fill up my bird feeders. The birds were looking for some food! I learned to knit years ago, when I was a young teenager. Should really take it up again. It would be a relaxing way to spend the evenings. I like cross=stitch, but find I can't see very well to do it anymore.
Melanie...do you have a Pooh quote book or are you just a Pooh fan? I love the quotes. My sister is a Pooh fan and collects books, ornaments etc. Even her canister set is Pooh! He is so wise. We should all live by his thoughts. You times with your dear little girl sound wonderful and fun...Will you be my grandma?
We have been busy here....DS2 started baseball season, so you know how that goes! It is easier this year though because he is now driving. DD2 is still at school and is planning a trip to the Dominican Republic. Her friends parents have a time share there and they invited her to go with them. They leave May 17th, just after school is out for her. DS1 is still commuting to Penn State and should be done in another semester. DD1 moved out with one of her girlfriends and they love their place. Age 25, it was time! She is still "finding" herself. Drives me nuts!
Work is busy, and the pressure is on for sales. Banking is a tough business, but I feel fortunate to have a job and to work for a solid and safe bank. Very conservative.
Well...I have laundry and cleaning to do. Then I am going to my sister's house for dinner and a Scrabble match....I have 3 sisters and a SIL and my mom We will have 2 boards goinig! Maybe a little wine ....dinner will be soup, salad, sandwiches...very simple.
I am so happy we all seem to be doing okay. Blessed by good scans and tests. Hugs to all, especially (((Marsha))) and (((Pat)))
Love you all,

Hope most of you are wrapped up warm. Just saw a USA weather report and it seems that a lot of you are in for more snow. What's it like in Denver Catherine? And PA seems to be in for it as well.
It is a lovely day here but I haven't really been out as I have somehow come down with a chest infection. Have drugs now so hope it will sort it out. It is interesting that the Doc is so willing to give me antibiotics when the policy here is to use them really sparingly.
Had a lovely day with Bea yesterday and she was so good. Yes Terry she is growing quickly, each week brings something new. She seemed to know that I didn't have much energy and played happily on the floor for a long time. I even got the chance to bath her last night in our very big old fashioned roll top bath which she loves. DH is even more besotted than I am and was fussing about not letting her get cold. DD2 and SIL put an offer on a house but didn't get it, nevermind they will find something.
I must take my aches away and sit down again for awhile.
Big Hugs to all
Alyson

I am only on for a moment and I had LOTS of catching up to do tonight and it was all GREAT!!!! What wonderful news on all fronts!!!!!!!! Pat and Leah, can't tell you how happy I am to hear the results of those scans. Sammie Kay, I did PM you with my phone and email address if you want to talk. Melanie why are you dreaming about Marsha and Marsha, how the heck are you doing, girl?!! I am going to be in Fort Myers in May for a few days. If I can sneak over to the east coast I will let you know. Catherine, stay warm, and Alyson enjoy the sun!!

It is a lovely day here again, Autumn is a beautiful season.
There is a bit of a cloud in our sky at present as little Bea's daddy is not at all well. We are waiting for scans as they have found a 'cyst' just above his eye in the sinuses which is causing all sorts of problems and he has become very depressed- severely. As they have to move out of their place in a couple of weeks and haven't yet found a house to buy they will be moving in with until things sort themselves out. He is not able to work at present.
The up side is that we will have Bea around a lot more.
Hope it is a bright sunny day where you are and that you are having/had a great weekend.
Alyson

Oh, Alyson, I send all my best wishes for things to get better soon for your SIL. Enjoy your nice weather... still snowing here... it does not stay around too long, but I am afraid any blooming bulb and bush/tree will be burnt... too bad... we wait all year for lilacs, crab apple trees, etc... the buds are dead... :-(
Sending hugs to all for a good week... Take care. C.

Hi,
Hope everyone had a nice Palm Sunday. We are working on some "around the house" jobs. I have been in the yard trimming shrubs. Big Job! But it would cost around 500 dollars to have it done, so as long as I can I will do it. Mike helps, but I am the "chief gardener and captain of trim".
We are having company for Easter Weekend, so trying to get ready for them also. DD3 will be coming with her family. It will be fun, hunting Easter Eggs with the little ones. They are 8, 5 and 18 months.
Thinking about Twilah during this very spiritual time of the year. I feel her presence here especially.
How are you Pat and Marsha? Hope you are feeling o.k. {{{{{{{{{{Marsha and Pat}}}}}}}}}}}}.
Thanks for the info Diann. I will take you up on the call for info. Probably after the holiday.
I am still having some lymphedema problems in the axilla and trunk on that side. I tried the sports bra and the arm sleeve. That helps. Also, I have the massage instructions and do them when it really bothers me. I think if I would do the massage on a regular basis I wouldn't have the problem. I always put it off and then it is late and I need to be in bed, or some other excuse. Don't know why I don't like to do the massage. I went to a Physical Therapist who specialized in treatment of lymphedema and he taught me how to do them and he measured and ordered me 2 sleeves and 2 gloves.
Alyson so sorry to hear about your SIL's problems. I hope and pray they find an answer soon and he begins to feel better. Isn't it fun having the little ones around? I love spending time with them. Have a blessed Easter.
Well, I am getting sleepy. Will go to bed soon and hit the floor running again tomorrow.
HOW ABOUT THOSE TAR HEEL!!! GO CAROLINA!!!!
Hugs all around, Alyson, Carynn, Catherine, Diann, Leah, Melanie, Marsha, Pat, Phyl, Hillary, Terry . Have a Blessed Easter Season.

Hi everybody!
I only have a sec, but I wanted to pop in and say hello & thinking of you all.
Alyson - I'm so sorry to hear of your SIL's troubles. Hoping it turns out to be just the "mundane" and that all is well.
Not sure if I got to send up a big whoo - hoo to everyone with great test results, so, WHOO HOO! Got the all clear from the Onc last month - so nothing on my plate until June.
BTW - has anyone spoke to Hillary? If you're reading girlfriend, miss you!
Extra hugs to Marsha & Pat.
Take care all - talk to you soon!

SammieKay, Carynn, hello girls... happy to see you here Carynn... Hope you are doing reasonably well... I have had something funny going on in my left wrist for several weeks (painful when I move certain ways and looks like a big bony thing... Aromasin, old age, both??) gives me a vague idea of what you are going through with your RA... I wish you very subdued symptoms so you can enjoy the great outdoors... how are the kittens doing? still working crazy hours? You take care... your hair cut is cute.
SammieKay, we can't do much in yards here, night freezes are still severe... I have the feeling that what was about to be an explosion of blossoms everywhere in town is done for this year... burnt by the cold and the snow... I was so excited about having blooming lilacs this year... oh well, we'll see... maybe Nature has repair capacities... Enjoy your Easter preparations!
I, too, miss Marsha and Hillary... wishing everybody is on the mend and truly enjoying the change of season this year... You guys take care... sweet dreams, C.

Hi Girls!
Catherine - I'm so sorry to hear about your wrist. I wouldnt wish joint pain on my worst enemy, and certainly not on a good friend!! I hope it feels better soon. I'm still working on getting back to normal after being off my meds for so long. I dont think I mentioned it here, but at my last Rheumy appointment, he gave me a cortisone shot in my knee and drained it. Yikes! It's much, much better, but not quite back to normal yet. I go again next week and I'm thinking of just saying it's just fine thanks! Kitties and Jake are good. They all certainly keep us amused.
So our little garden, aka "the farm" is doing really well. I've already harvested radishes and I have a lot of spinach ready to go, Corn is about 7 inches high, and everything else is right on schedule. Who knew??
Off to the races very soon. Sooo looking forward to the time off! Melanie, how was Texas??
Night al! See ya soon.

Hi, guys!
No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth.. My project hit its peak, and I snuck off for a long weekend to San Francisco. THAT was marvelous....
Caryn, I am bringing the project in a week EARLY! when have you ever seen that????
DD is driving me crazy, trying to get a job in these times. And she wants a graduation party, while I am pretty sure we'll still have snow on the ground...
So crazy is how I am feeling, but it is all good!
Hope you all have a great weekend...
Much love.

Alyson, hope by now your SIL is doing better? It must be fun having Bea around!! I am looking forward to that part of our lives, but nothing on the horizon yet.
SammieKay, I don't do the massage either unless my arm is bothering me and I hate wearing the sleeve! I need to get out and find a long waisted bra that doesn't constrict.
Carynn, have only a small bit of what you must be going through. The Femara has really hit me in the finger joints the most to where it is painful to knock on anything. Or maybe, as Catherine says, it might be old age? I only know I did NOT have this before chemo and Femara.
Leah, way to go on getting the project in early! That will give you time to plan the graduation party at least!
Things are status quo here, which translates as insane. Working two or three times as hard for half the money, but at least we are productive which is more than many can say in our industry so I am not complaining. (not much anyway!) Getting ready to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next week and can't take time off right now, so I booked us into two nights at the Palms next weekend. Spa, show, good food and some quiet time with my hubby. Next year I want to take him to Bandon Dunes for some golf and then the Alaskan cruise he has always wanted to do. (We would have done it this year but HIS schedule is way too crowded with golf tournaments this summer!)
Hope evveryone is feeling good and ready to celebrate a very happy Easter. May the bunny bring you some primo chocolates!!

Wishing you all a nice, restful and safe Easter/Passover week-end, or just a plain good old spring one, whatever may be the case... so glad to read your news, Leah... SF is certainly an area I like a lot... I am sure you made the most out of it.
Vegas, enjoy your anniversary plans and hang in there, things are bound to get better... For you and Marsha, this is a challenging field to be in... but I am sure you both have the right stuff to make it work, even in a depressed economy... Don't let it get to you... reach for the white coconut Lindt Excellence chocolate immediately if needed... just discovered this one, I should have stayed in bed that day... so addictive!! feels good...
Melanie, Alyson, Terry, ((((((((((((((Pat, Marsha )))), Hillary, Phyl, SammieKay, Jan.... thinking of you all, girls... hope life gets gentler to all... Jan, Melanie... tornadoes, wild fires... is everything ok for you, guys?
and now some bragging... working on the matching peruvian hat, now... this, Alyson, took a week, on and off...

It was cool when I saw it on skype but thats brilliant Catherine. Will be in touch about trying to get the pattern.
And I have some Lindt chocolate as well - white and dark, the dark has less Weight Watchers points.
It is getting much colder here now, yesterday we almost had a frost which would have been very early. The house already seems much warmer with the carpet. These old homes have very little insulation, we are putting it in as we renovate.
Had Bea for a while yesterday while her Mummy sang at the cathedral ( Good Friday is a holiday her as is Monday). She was rather clingy and wouldn't let me out of her sight but it was very sweet when I took her from her Grandad and within seconds she was fast asleep against my shoulder. She gave a little sigh and snuggled into my neck.
Like many of you the joint pain has been a problem and so I am going to see the RA specialist, something I have been putting off as I don't want to take any more drugs than necessary but the knees and shoulder give very severe pain at times.
Sammie Kay, I try to do my massage most days and find that if I don't wear my sleeve my arm gets extremely tired. I do the massage first thing in the morning but agree it is a real chore. Its great when the therapist does it.
Must go and get somethings done before I go and do some retail therapy with the girls.
Happy Easter to you all
Alyson

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter. Hard to top the Capt.Phillips family. Thank God he was rescued safely. What a blessing.
We are really pooped. Had a wonderful time with the three grandchildren and their parents. But they can really tire one out. The 8 and 5 year old girls are pretty independent. The 18 month old is adorable and can run everyone ragged. What fun!
Well Alyson, I have to adjust my thinking...you are in the Fall season now, right? Warm Christmas and Cold Easter. LOL Guess you are so used to it by now.
I have been reading about the lymphedema garments for truncal lymphedema. I am sure that is what I have. The armpit, very upper arm and the side. Doesn't help that the implant on that side migrates into that area too. I will certainly be glad to get that fixed.
Well, I think I will go to bed and read the new novel I started. Probably get 3 pages read and then fall asleep.
I hope everyone is doing well. Love and hugs to all, Sammie Kay

Hi All,
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Sorry I have been away from the boards for so long. Just been busy with work and baseball. It seems days go by and I might read your messages quickly, but can'r take the time for a thoughtful response.
Had a wonderful weekend....DH & kids had a surprise birthday party for me on Sat eve at a local restaurant. All of my family and his family and a few friends were there. About 50 people. They really pulled one over on me!
Today is my 50th birthday. DH has been ragging on me for a week now about AARP, being Over the Hill, etc. For some reason, though 50 does not bother me. I am just glad to be healthy! (I think).
I had to go for blood work for RA and lupus. Have been having trouble with joint swelling and skin redness. Hopefully just overuse and Femara! Should get test results this week.
Well....got to get to work. Love you all!
0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Terry!! Sounds like you had a terrific celebration!! Have to say, 50 didn't bother me either (it was 40 that did me in!), and now I am already telling people I am "almost 60" in preparation for that one. Amen to healthy. We all appreciate that here, that's for sure.
Catherine, what a GORGEOUS sweater. Those of us who are the anti Marthas, salute you!
Sammie Kay, maybe the expander is causing most of the problem? We will hope so and that when you have your surgery things are rectified. Though I seem to have issues in the same area. Especially the upper arm and armpit. My achy breaky arm.
Alyson, sounds like you are fully learning to enjoy retirement! Looking forward to following in your footsteps!!!

I am far behind on my posting! Things are quite hectic, but thankfully we have been spared the tornadoes in our immediate area...well, so far. We were hit so hard in this area last year. We have employees in the western part of the state where it hit, but they are all okay. Thank goodness. I hope Jan's friends and family are safe also.
Catherine; Beautiful sweater! I remember the only thing I ever crocheted. It was one big...okay about 10" in diameter...round piece. I would disconnect my Barbie at the waist, slip the "thing" on, reconnect and wallah...a bulky swirly skirt! I do have a friend that keeps me supplied with little crocheted squares that make wonderful dish rags....nothing beats them. I have also been nibbling dark chocolate, as I have read that a few squares a week are good for the heart . Ahhh...all the good things that come in squares...
Terry: YES...Happy Birthday! It sounds like it was a wonderful party. I hope those test results will pinpoint the problem and you can get some relief.
Sammie; I am hoping you can keep the lymphedema swelling to a minimum...what a pain. We were traveling home from our NW location and did not get to spend any Easter time with the family. I missed that. I did pick up Natalie today and she is napping right now in her Pop's office.
Carynn; Texas was good. I thought it would be just friends, but DH invited clients just a few days before the event and that completely changed my plans for visiting Twilah's family as I had to stay at the condo to host the clients. I knew that I would need to go back to Dallas in a couple of weeks, so I hope to see them then.
A big hello to Leah, Vegas, Alyson and Pat...hope I didn't miss anyone! Marsha got to spend Easter with her mom in Kentucky, so I know she enjoyed that. She has her first follow-up scans on Thursday since her mets dx...I will certainly be thinking of her as I know all of you will.
0 -
Just wanted to post a big hug for Marsha and hope that her scan shows....NOTHING!!!! We will be saying a prayer for you, my dear!!
0 -
Terry hope you had a really happy birthday, that seems an age ago well it is a decade ago for me. Every birthday is a real celebration and I am so pleased that your family gave you a wonderful surprise. Hope your test results are good.
Marsha - love and prayers for Thursday, will be with you.
Diann and Sammie Kay, hope those arms are OK. It gets me in the upper arm and just under the mastectomy scar line forming quite a 'bag' under my arm. It is a real pain so I know what you mean.
DD has been here with Bea today which has been great. Erin is trying to get essays marked for University so needed someone to watch Bea while she worked.
The leaves are changing colour and its getting cooler, well it was this morning but it has warmed up this afternoon. Must see if I have anything suitable for dinner.
