always! What are you doing up at this hour?
We always seem to have a knack to getting back to talking about food, huh?
0 -
I've got to crack through this thing about having food on my mind so much! I think I overdosed on sweets this Christmas, so am hoping to go cold turkey from sweets after New Years. Yeah, its now almost 3:30 am and I do have to get up at 6, so will try again to get to sleep.....
OOPS that word will NOT work.....hope someone will come up with a correct word to go after your word of knack. My mind cannot think anymore at this hour.....

is it cheating if I help? Or will there be a knock on the head if I do?
Wahine, your brain needs sleep......
0 -
She does seem tired, eh? Hope she regains the KNACK of falling asleep soon.

or maybe a snack? I know, back to food, and we used this word earlier on the page, but my brain's not awake yet to think of anything else

I went to a farm. Once. Got stuck in a lane way to the barn when my cousin just ducked under a cow and kept on walking. I wasn't doing that, no sirrie, so I turned around and there was another huge bovine behind me. I just sat down in the dusty lane and cried until someone rescued me. My cousin snickered at me for the rest of the day. She should have just cut the city cousin some SLACK in my opinion, but this is the same cousin who grabbed me in a headlock when I was 2 and dragged me around the yard by my neck so fast that my feet were flying behind me. Cried then too.

Yes, it does sound like our Red has a lot of class! Well, we are going to start celebrating New Years tonight, at the casinos, so I will raise my glass to you great ladies... "Okole Maluna" (bottoms up, in Hawaiian)....Cheers!!!!

RedReading, for all you've been thru, you deserve a glass of wine
Wahine, you and I were on the same wave length, you just type faster! Enjoy your time out, you really deserve it!,
Hugs, my friend!

ok, you got glass first because I am tired having just mowed the grass. Taking advantage of our pretty weather.

Our grass is under a foot of snow so mowing it isn't an option.
My cousin actually turned out to be one of my 5 favourite friends although at the time I thought she was quite CRASS - if a small child knew that word.
Another cousin , a grade school chum, my DD2 and a buddy I met at my wedding rounds out the deal.
There are even a couple on this site I now consider friends, even though we have never met.

yes RR (can I call you that?), BCO is a great place to meet friends. I recently met a couple, feeling very blessed. Photo posted today on Breast Implant Sizing 101 (I don't know how to post here). Will look up the exact page. Hopefully you will get to meet up with some of the BCO ladies in your area too.
With NYE rapidly approaching, certainly hope no one gets in a crash
Edited to add: page 315

Oh Maddy (2t@), that is such a beautiful picture!!! Isn't it wonderful to meet other gals from these bco threads. I love it, instant connection, and instant friends for life. If you don't mind, I will copy it here, since you did give the thread and page number, Then the other gals here can see your beautiful face, and get to know you better! OK, for a word, hmmmm....Ok I got it now....all of you ladies look so sharp and so happy!
This pic was taken earlier this month, when I had the opportunity to meet these awesome ladies for lunch in Southern California. Left to right: hbcheryl, whippetmom, blessings2011, and 2nd_time_around.

Wahine, so nice of you to share this photo! I can copy from this iPad, but can't paste. Not sure if it's the iPad or me. We were happy! I had met HBCheryl previously, was so excited to meet Whippetmom and Blessings2011. Hoping to meet other BCO ladies soon too.

So much of the US and Canada is FROZEN....lots of people in bitter cold and without power. I wonder if those that are in the ice and snow are picturing how nice it would be to be swimming above warm tropical reefs right now?
Happy New Years Eve!!!

That's a lovely poem, CCFW! And of course the mods will allow that....what they frown on is abusive behavior (racism, bad language, very explicit pictures, etc). We have a full night of activities, but right now my DH is napping, and I wish I could sleep right now, too. My mind races too much and doesn't usually allow me to sleep during the day! Cheers girls! Happy almost 2014!!!

problem today clogged pipe, so water SEEPS and runs all over your floor.....Happy New Year

My dryer came today!!!! Now I have complete laundry facilities except an ironing board. Most of my clothes are knit, so they don't require ironing. In a pinch, if I did need to press out a wrinkle, I could put some towels on my table and use it instead.
Happy New Year to all!
P.S. I hope you can get that pipe fixed, duckyb

Sorry, Ducky, not so bueno
Looking at people in Times Square, screaming. Hoping they don't get a sore throat or strep

Oh no Ducky, Hope you can take steps to stop that water leak! YAY for getting your dryer, Curve!!! OK, since we posted the pic of Maddy, I will post my very first selfie that I took today at the Casino. Keep in mind I have a "dumb" phone and could not see what I was taking! LOL.

Should be about midnight there - wishing all you Eastern Time Zone ladies a very Happy New Year! And to you, my dear friend, Wahine, wishing you an oh-so-much better 2014 than 2013!!
Hugs and Love and Prayers for the the Best New Year that 2014 can bring!!!

Awwwww you are so sweet Maddy! BUT the selfie does not show my triple chins, so I will keep it! lol. There may be some spies that will only look for my triple chins, so I should be safe. We had a nice New Years.....lots of drinks, and the hunky pit boss we know from another casino, joined us here so we took him in the vip room. Then had lots of drinks, then the concert, and it was sorta empty, but every seat had a new years hat, beads, plastic glass and sm bottle of champagne. So we brought lots of the small bottles of champagne back to the room! Rode the elevator up with Charlie Pride, and then came back down to listen to the good band. HOPING 2014 will be a much better year, and my DD1 will be able to kick the cancer to the curb, and tolerate all the treatments. Hope you will all have a good 2014!!!!!

Kat, you are beautiful! I love that pic. If the PRESS ever get a hold of it, you will be splashed all over the celebrity pages. 'Diva Hangs Out With Charlie Pride for New Year's Eve!!!!!!' I pray all goes well this year for you and your DD.
Glad you got your dryer, Curve, but what's an iron? Or an ironing board? If my clothes are wrinkly, I spritz em with a water mist and throw em back in the dryer for 5 minutes. Wrinkles fall out easy peasy.
Ducky, sorry to hear about the burst pipe. Yuck.
CC, I started that thread we talked about in the humour and games forum. I hope you'll join me in participating.
Happy New Year's to everyone. 2014 - onward and upward!

Happy New Year to all! It sounds like wahine has gone on the spree a little bit. I could use some fun here too. My first infusion of Zometa was on Tuesday and it really knocked me for a loop. It gave me a slight fever that kept creeping up all day and by 5 PM on New Year's day, it was over 101. I called the consulting nurse and she said, yes, I needed to see a doctor. The Urgent Care center had closed early that night, since it was New Year's Eve, so I had to go the local ER.
After four hours or so they decided I didn't have the flu or an infection coming on, and sent me back home again.
By the time I got back home I it was after 10 PM and I was so pooped I went straight to bed without bothering to fix dinner. Today I had a CT scan scheduled which also required not eating for part of the day. Next time if I get a fever after a new med, I'll wait until the next morning to see if it comes down by itself.
New Year's Resolution: have two days worth of pre-cooked meals in the house at all times!

OMG Curve, what an awful New Years Eve you had....glad you were okay though, just what an ordeal, and with that high fever too. I like to have pre-cooked meals in the freezer too....esp with what my DD will have coming up, and I will try to help as much as I can, so will be nice not to have to cook every night.
CC, how awesome that that you knew the word "lei"! And the funny thing is, that is the same way it is written if its plural. Yes, the flowers are all so lovely, and some are made into headpieces too. I guess you could even thread some flowers into a long lock or ringlet of hair, otherwise called a tress.
I am still trying to figure out which "eating plan"...otherwise called a diet....will work for me as I really overdid it the past month and want to be healthier. The nurse called me on our drive home yesterday and apparently my bone density scan was VERY deteriorated from 5 yrs ago. Was supposed to have it every 2 yrs, but I didn't realize that. So now they want me to start on fosomax. I searched here on bco, and someone posted a link on how prunes are supposed to build up your bones too. They did some blind tests, and the prunes did very well for bone loss. So I will at least start on prunes, and maybe fosomax at the same time. My parents have very strong bones at 97 and 93, and they used to eat prunes every morning. Go figure!
edit: Here is the prune link if anyone wants to read it, or has any info to add.... http://www.bodyelectrictv.com/health/osteoporosis/why-your-bones-love-prunes-11/
