I was on the phone with my sister during the first hour (she lives in North Carolina and is in the middle of the big mess left behind by the hurricane), so I started watching with Ryan, whom I thought did a good job. I also liked James. Laurie was good, but I didn't think that was the right kind of dance for her either.

Not having watched previous seasons, I am so amazed at how much everyone improves from week to week! Maureen is so much improved, well, they all are!

*Please note there may be spoilers in my post, so if you havent seen who got voted off last night, you may not want to read this yet.*

Last night's show was okay. They seemed to go on and on about Maks and Amber's struggles in the clip before their dance. It seemed like they were using it as filler for the two hour show. I would have thought there'd have been a dance off or group dance by now on top of regular routine.

I like Calvin and Lindsay and worried they might get voted off, so today I voted for the first time. Jana is really starting to excel and move above the pack. I liked Terra's dance despite judges saying it wasn't a good fit for her.

Glad of the elimination and wouldn't mind Maureen or Marilu going home next.

In the semifinals I would like to see Laurie, Calvin, Jana and James but I like Terra too! So a bit torn. Guess we will wait and see

Agree to all of the above. Amber was a little too whiny for me. Technically I'd say Maureen should go next, followed by Marylou. In the end, I wonder if Calvin might be too tall & Terra too short for the aesthetics as the dances get more and more complicated (although I thought they both did well, especially Calvin, last night). Last night's favorites for me were Jenna and James (who says hunky guys can't wear lace shirts!).

Good show last night! They are all doing so well. It amazes me how Terra has such endurance, didn't she just have a baby within the past few months? And the other dance with that shower scene...good grief! They are so good! Fun show.

I really liked Terra and I didn't like the comments she got from the judges as I thought she did very well. Amber - blah blah whiny whiny. Agree with Ruth that Maureen should be next to go, can't get over how scared she appears to be, such a lack of confidence in herself and it makes me sad to see. Loved James and Jenna wow, what can I say but WOW.

Wow. Well, there are some really good dancers in the mix and I liked the show tonight.

Jana, Calvin, Laurie and James are all contenders at this point, and I still love Terra.

I absolutely loved both team dances. I felt badly that Marilu fell during hers, and it didnt seem like Derrick or anyone else fussed over her enoughand her husband in the audience didnt look too happy. I dont blame him.

Lindsay has such a catchy way of dancing with Calvin. James is very good. Jana, who I never heard of before DWTS, is really impressice and Laurie is always fun to watch.

    Fair elimination tonite.

I am on vacation so will have to watch it when I get home (although I googled the results), which I thought sounded about right.

It was a cute show tonight, I liked the Halloween costume theme?

I loved Terra, she is just great. Calvin and Lindsay were terrific. I liked Laurie and Val tho not as crazy about them as the judges were. James was pretty cool and so was Jana.

I have not missed Mark Ballas being in the show this season!

I am not a fan of those dance offs.

Fair elimination. I think there is going to be a nice line up for the finals. Some good dancers in the mix

I love the Halloween theme too. I don't love the dance offs but agreed with the judges choices. I don't think the worst dancer was eliminated.....

What, Divine, you don't miss Mark's man-bun? Loopy

    hi all,

Was taking a break from BCO, so haven't had a chance to comment on DWTS.

I do not miss Mark's man bun or any part of Mark. I don't know why but he always irritated me. Glad to see that Derek did not automatically get the best female dancer this time. There are certainly a few surprises in the stars performances this year that I like.

And of course I'm rooting for James as he's a canadian!! :) cheers, dee

Tonight's show was terrific, and a great distraction from the election tomorrow!

Terra is amazing. Her solo was fabulous, and her dance with Marilu was great. I loved all the team or if you want to call them duo dances. Laurie was great with the Chicago dance.

Fair elimination. Everybody gotta bring their A game next week fo' sho'

Very fun show. I also agreed with the elimination. I thought Jana and Gleb had an especially lovely dance, and I very much enjoyed the duo dances. It was especially fun to watch the guys practicing! A lot of good vibs all the way around.

What I was thinking about the semi finals is that finally, they have a season where all the right people have made it this far. There was no really wrong elimination up to this point. There wasn't a contestant voted off that was really good while a lousy one remained, which is really great

Well, my persective is that all of the ones tonight are equally qualified to be in the finals. At this point, I will be very sad for any elimination, because I like them all. So even tho one will have to go, no matter who is left, I feel they have earned a spot in the finals.

Another fun show! I think the elimination was fair, although I didn't want to see any of them go. Great back stories; especially so sweet and sad about Laurie's grandmother. The trio dances were tremendous!

I agree about the trio dances, Ruth. They are always some of the very best dances of the season. They really were spectacular last night! I was wowed with the dance where Sharna was blind folded, and then James' dance with the two women was smokin hot. Jana's trio was super cool, Terra was simply amazing, Calvin's trio was so enjoyable; I always love watching Lindsay and Witney dancing together and he was the perfect guy for both of them.

I, too, was sad to see an elimination tho it was necessary. I am thinking the odds on favorite to win is Laurie, but there are at least two others that could easily take the mirror ball

I think that Laurie, Janna & James could all take it. From the beginning I thought that Terra was a little too short & Calvin a little too tall to be the overall winner.....just because of the visuals, because they are super good, fun dancers. It is a cast where I really like them all as dancers and as human beings. Looks like it will be a two parter, Monday & Tuesda,y next week.

Thanks to Ruth for telling me about this board.

Last night was great! Like you all have said- all strong performers now. I think I slightly favor Laurie and James.

Missed the first half last nigh cause my Dish went out but caught all the trio dances which I thought were fabulous and great backstories.  Laurie really has the heart of a champion, wanting to go home and yet pulling off an amazing dance when you know inside she is heartbroken.  Agree with MrsM about all the right people being there at the end even though I loved who was eliminated and it sure is hard to call although when I voted last night I double voted for James but I really like everyone and will be happy for whoever wins.  Does anyone else feel like me - this season has just flown by so quickly, can't believe we're at the end!!!

Wow! What a show. Loved all those free styles. Laurie brought some tears to my eyes. Her freestyle was amazing. Loved James, too. Oh, all of them. I wonder if the push will be for Sharna to win since she hasnt so far. A big upset for Laurie? I cant say

Oh! I didnt realize a voting off was happening tonight. Thought it was tomorrow!

What a wonderful show! Jana & James, both so moving. Calvin & Laurie, both pure joy. I think the elimination was fair and am very much looking forward to tomorrow night......except that I don't want it to be over!
